Few creatures inspire greater awe than dragons, and Pathfinder Player Companion: Legacy of Dragons dives into the ripples left in these mighty creatures' wake. Whether they help or harm, dragons make a lasting impression, from the legends and philosophies they inspire to the bloodlines they foster.
Inside this book you'll find:
New archetypes ranging from the dragonheir scion to the wyrmwitch, allowing
players to access draconic appearances as well as lore, powers, and spells.
Ways for characters to enlist drakes and lesser dragons to serve as allies, improved
familiars, and even flying mounts.
New draconic bloodlines for bloodragers and sorcerers, allowing eldritch abilities
based on esoteric, imperial, outer, and primal dragons.
This Pathfinder Player Companion is intended for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, but can be easily incorporated into any fantasy world.

I enjoyed this book (I got the print edition). It offers good options for use for a player with a dragon bloodline. And I don't mean just the sorcerer bloodlines, although they are in there too. There are options and archetypes for your use. Well worth the price.
I wanted to like this book. I really, really, really did. The fluff is great, and the 'premise' of the archetypes and drakes are nice.
But.
Both the archetypes, and the drake companions themselves, have some of the worst balancing I have seen in pathfinder. An example of this is the druid, who replaces an animal companion with a drake companion. The drake is actually weaker then alot of normal animal companion choices, and to take the archetype actually removes six of his core abilities just for the drake part of the archetype, never mind the additional abilities changed for the other parts of the archetype.
I really hope at some point paizo revisits the idea of these drake archetypes and companions and does a tremendous re-balancing, as many of these archetypes feel almost unplayable with how bad they can gimp a character.
I picked up this book excited to create my new "Dragon" themed character and all the options were very weak. Also, throughout the book there were sentences repeated over and over again. I waited months for this issue and I'm completely disappointed. It's the worst Player Companion I've ever read.
This book has a few good ideas and some great flavor text.
It falls short on the mechanics side though, especially with the archetypes that involve drakes. The cavalier archetype that gets a drake is the worst, and is so bad, I think the writer(s) who made it have never played a cavalier before, it just guts the class.
There are some glaring typos in the book, like a certain fighter archetype replacing a bonus feat at a level that the fighter does not get a bonus feat on.
This book could have been, dare I say SHOULD have been, so much more.
While I usually like some sections of the player companion line, I very rarely like all of them. This is the rare exception. Excellent character options, monsters, and spells throughout.
~IF~ they were to introduce a series of "Pathfinder Dragons", I'd like to see some dragons from Arcadia, the "India", and "Arabia" locations.
I notice that every bestiary, they introduce exactly 5 dragons. I think that's awesome. I believe if we're going to get another Bestiary next year, it will probably have 5 more dragons. That being said, I would believe that a Golarian only book of dragons would probably just be a specific number of named dragons and no new species. It may have some character and GM options, but nothing new true dragon wise.
I doubt, though, that we'll see a lot of information on having dragon companions, dragon steeds, dragon lances... oh... wait...
Anyways, one thing I would like (which is from the old 3.5 Dragon Magic book) is the idea of "dragon mentors". It would be cool to see benefits of having a dragon mentoring a spell caster, and then sending that arcanist/witch/sorcerer out into the world (perhaps to serve as a spy, or to further the dragon's interests).

I don't have Dragon Magic, so I don't know those details, but I like the dragon mentoring idea. What if it was a 2-way arcane bond between wyrmling/very young dragon and a humanoid spell caster (highly-vetted and selected by the dragon parent)? The young dragon gains first hand experience & knowledge (especially with spells) and likely a starter nest egg of wealth; the humanoid gains a naturally-magical advisor and second pair of hands, and maybe begins taking on some draconic traits?
"46 new posts", so I thought we had an update to the product...nope. Just a whole lot of posts about nothing. Some of them not even about dragons. Disappointed.
Meh, dragons. Between 3405 D&D books on them, I don't need any more.
Yea, the problem for me is that while I WANTED to play D&D back during 2nd edition, I was not able to join regular roleplaying groups until early Pathfinder. I completely missed all these dragons that other people are so tired of. The fact that so many GMs and designers actively try to keep dragons out of games now is beyond annoying for a dragon fan like myself.
Try finding a Dragonlance group! There be dragon's there! :) One of the reasons why I love that setting.
I think they usually update the cover and product description about the time when they start sending out the previous month's products to subscribers and people who preordered them. I think that's roughly two weeks before the street date of the product, so...I'd guess sometime next week?
All of the products intended for the last wednesday in july will be in stores on the 6th of august.
Of course subscribers should begin to get the pdf on the 20th of july.
Where is that announcement? I'm not seeing that anywhere.
Product catalog & schedule.
Yes, these are subject to change, but if you consider that a few july products (like this here) haven't been actualized and that it's normal that the AP line often gets a double release in august (last year was the same if i remember correctly) due to Paizocon and Gencon preparations, it is very likely.
Of course it has to be the 3rd of august and subscribers should get it between 18th and 29th of july - my bad.
I wish Paizo Con revealed a little more about this one. The product description is very lacking and our imaginations can go little crazy if unchecked.
Do you think they'll be Dragons in there?
I think we'll learn in this book, that the true dragons were inside you all along...
But the parasitic tiny dragons that were growing inside you all along and giving you the illusion of the manifestation of a sorcerer or bloodrager bloodline until they're big enough to devour your insides and wear you like a skin suit until they finish their maturation cycle might have to wait for a Bestiary.
Is it weird that I actually hope dragon content on dragons that aren't chromatic/metallic/imperial/linnorms/belonging to any other "five dragons from different elements" groups?
Like, more on minor dragons like spine dragons and that two headed thing that attacks other dragons and wyverns would be nice and mundane-ish.
I hope that the other "true" dragons finally get some love. I am so tired of the chromatics and not as much of a fan of the metallics as I used to be. I also like to see some stuff related to linnorms and other "lesser" dragons.
We are not talking about new dragons or feats for monsters we are talking about class features, archetypes, feats, spells, traits, and magic items that are themed on these types of dragons.
