Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
That's 32 damage to me... 17 after Energy Resistance.
Wand of CLW (Auron): 3d8 + 1 ⇒ (3, 3, 4) + 1 = 11
Wand of CLW (Sun Xiao): 3d8 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) + 1 = 13
The wand now has 38 charges left. We gotta buy another one later.
After healing Sun Xiao and himself, Auron looks around for possible relics of interest.
Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
I take 10 on Kn(Arcana), Kn(Planes) and Kn(Religion), totaling 29 on all of them.

I'm going to sleep so not much details for now, but Auron and sun can find that the great advances the Imaskari did in in extradimensional magic are ascribed to the direct stealing of the "words" from the gods. A word of creation, the word that control space and time. Since that time the Imaskari became Godless because they believe they coudl achieve the very same deeds of the gods if only they could discover more of those secret words.

Erd |

So . . . the verses of creation would probably be like whole strings of the words the Imaskari were searching for?
Erd cleans her blade and watches the readers stoically.

Garren Emeraldeyes |

Garren chose the +2 to Attack Rolls
Reflex: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31
Garren moves up to strike the demon before it can escape.
Rapier Strike: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 7d6 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (6, 5, 1, 1, 1, 6, 4) = 35
Wiffs horribly though.
Garren takes a look at some of the tablets.
"This words of creation stuff sounds crazy! Seems like we're in the right place!"

Sun Xiao |

"Interesting. We may now have confirmation of the kind of power someone with the Verses could wield, though aren't any closer to FINDING anything." he studies the tablets more closely, looking to see if he can find where, exactly, they might have stolen the Words from.
Kn. Planes or Religion: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20
Kn. History: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32

Erd |

Erd and Bili wander over to the corpses, where the half-orc hops down to investigate.
Searching the corpses for valuables and then . . .
Handle Animal to get Bili to aid Erd's Survival (link): 10 + 14 + 4 = 28
Bili's aid: 10 + 1 = 11
Erd's Survival to find tracks (aid): 10 + 8 + 2 = 20
If she finds nothing, she'll wait ten minutes (skin as continuing to wander around?) and search again: Survival (aid): 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 2 = 13

DM. |

Ok, Garren, Sun and Auron keep studyng while Erd patrols the surroundings.
So, more storytime. The tablets at hand contains mostly Hymns, to read them all would takes weeks or months. The low relief and statues on the other hand are more direct.
It is not clear from where Umyatin the great gained knowledge about the words, but there are some vague reference to a cold beyond the stars. The narrative continue with Umyatin travel to "the space between everything, the road that goes Everywhere, where you are when you aren't anywhere else." Sun recognize it as a reference to the astral plane. Somewehre there he found the place where Helm (god of protectors) secured since time inmemorial the words that gave form and order to space and time.
There he faced the Guardians. who where instructed to protect that place. Umyatin did not dare to confront the guardians cause he knew their power was great. Instead Umyatin resorted to deception. It is not described what he did, but he gained some time to read words. Where the gaurdians discovered the deception Umyatin Already had obtained some understanding that allowed him to scape their wrath.
Almost 3,000 years later a plague decimated Imaskari many cities. The king Senshiasen II planed to do what even the mightiest of his ancestors did not dare. But those were desperate times. To learn the secrets of the whole verse of space and time. He commanded a whole army of high artificers to the astral plane and make war agasint everything on his path. The toll was high but Senshiasen had access to the power he sought.
At this point the tale do a unexplained jump. Instead of talking about Senshiasen II the story continues with his son Senshiasen III, Wich is very weird taking into account that Senshieasen II acomplisehd a great deed and the Imaskari was that kind of people that like to gloat about their works. Something bad and important must had happened, something the authors of this place were not insterested in representing.
Either way, the wizards of Imaskari used the power recently adquired to brought hundreds of thousands of people from another world to be their Slaves. They also created a barrier that denied divine intervention. Senshiasen the Third died Shortly after. In his final Image you can see him holding two tablets. One of them looks very much like the one you take from Sylwaris.
The tale continue describing the history of Inmaskar to just before the fall of the Empire at the hand of vengeful gods. Those are other (more or less) 2,000 years. No more again they tried to look for more secret words. Althought the study of what Umyatin and Senshiasen II discovered was the reason for the development of the magic in Imaskar, it seems that the most deep secrets were only knew to the Kings.
Most of the information here you have never heard about. It probably was only meant for the Imaskari Elite.

Erd on the other hand let his teammates do the boring academic work. She just patrol the area. Her yes have not seen anything, her ears have not detected anything but suddenly Bili begins to be very nervous, she is smelling something.
Ok, back to hacking and slashing

Auron Luckstride |

"Remind me to transcribe these registers once we deal with the hostile presence in this place." says Auron as he reads some of the ancient words.
Seeing Bili's nervous reaction, the disciple of Oghma decides to play it safe and casts Invisibility Purge, taking care to do it was discreetly as possible. i.e.: casting defensively. DC is 21 so I auto-succeed, but just to be safe...:
Concentration Check: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36

DM. |

Auron's spell reveal the precense of several Cacodaemons Spying on the group. The tiny beast start flying chaotically when their invisibiilty is lost.

Auron Luckstride |

"Tsc..." sighs Auron "Disgusting little things..."
Whenever I kill one of them, I attack the next one.
arrow: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34 damage: 2d8 + 20 ⇒ (7, 5) + 20 = 32

Erd |

Erd jumps off Bili, pointing to one of the monsters and yelling, "Attack!" The half-orc then charges at one of the low-flying daemons.
Auto-succeed on the Ride check.
Erd's longsword (charge, banner, high ground): 1d20 + 23 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 23 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 32 Damage: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (3, 4) + 11 = 18
Bili's bite (charge, banner): 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 15 + 2 + 1 = 23 Damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Erd's Round 1: Fast dismount (free action) and charge (full-round action).
Bili's Round 1: Charge (full-round action).

Sun Xiao |

Bummer. Was hoping to get a nice sweeping kick on a crowd of them.
Sun takes to the skies, trying to get in the center of the group of Daemons and attack one.
I make no attempt to avoid Provoking.]
Attack: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35

Garren contemplates the importance of having a ranged weapon.

Auron Luckstride |

40min each. Well... 40 min for two of us and 5omin for the last one. Never specified who got that extra 10min. Could have gone to Garren, I suppose.

Garren Emeraldeyes |

Im content to just chill. No need to exert myself. Maybe eat a sandwhich too. You two got this.

Erd |

"Were they sent?" Erd asks, climbing back onto Bili and swapping her longsword and shield for her bow. "Any more?"

DM. |

I'll give you two options(that you can ignore if you want, of course): (A) You go after the thone room. You could try kill the spectre of the ruler of the city, wich could (or could not) give acces to more information about the verses, you also would gain the favor of the Ghost of the entire city and they could (or could not) return the favor. It have the disadvantage of ignoring Amman and his group. (B) You could try to track down Amman. This woudl require exploring more this multidimensional complex, and woudl require several track checks among other stuff.

Sun Xiao |

I knew I forgot something. I was like "Why is my HP so high?" and it was because originally I had used my FCB for SKILLS, not HP. Fixing, because I'm missing a skill.

Erd |

Tracking down Amman, if we can, would be Erd's choice. Erd and Bili can take 10 to auto-aid Sun for +4 to Survival total.

Auron Luckstride |

We should probably go after Ammam. We can take care of the ghosts later, it's not like they are going anywhere.

Last I heard, he was fighting hordes of Numbers-to-be-Crunched!
I'm trying to finish what hopefully would be my first published peer-reviewed article, so yes I'm number crunching. I will make the next post tomorrow, well, today but later (taking into account is past 11:59 Pm here)

Auron Luckstride |

Just write "Lemmy approves!" at the end of your article and everyone will know it's amazing. ;)

DM. |

Ok, so lets jump to the pat where you already found and follow the trace...
You take a portal and are teleported to a big weird room. You are in what seems to be the inside of an mostly empty sphere made of brick. You are at the inside surface of the sphere. It seems to be that that gravity always acts "outward", aka pulling to the surface of the sphere. In the air there are, frozen in the air, broken statues and pillars. In the center there is an inactive portal.
At the antipodal point from you you find the man you came here looking for. Amman is pretty much as described By Sylwaris. A black, bold, tall Man in his 40s with three blue dots in his Forehead (aproximate picture).
To complete his description he wields a small shield in his right arm and a long scimitar in his left hand. He weard heavy white robes that cover most of him, but even then, you can tell that there is an armor behind the robes.
He is surrounded by 3 armored Ceustodaemons. One of those use a Tower shield and noting in his other hand. The other two have longspears. There are other 12 non-armored ceutos scattered over the place.
So you found us,- he say with slow a deep voice (the place have a great accoustic btw)- I have to say I'm not surprised, you have proved to be a resourseful group. My name is Amman Bel Amjad in case you didn't knew it and... - he is interrupted.
My lord, the work will be finished in about a minute and half - say a semi translucient image of a goblin covered in wolfskin.
Good. That give me enough time to dealt with our guests here. - Amman say and then the image make a reverence and dissapear. Well, I suppose before starting any clash I should give you the opportunity to leave so you do not end like the poor Tandall, what do you say?
======================
So, The mechanics. Crossing flying from a point to is antipodal point takes 50 ft. Doing it by the surface of hte sphere takes 150 ft.
We will use semi-individual innitiative this time. So roll init (assuming you do not runaway)
I'm pretty sure I had other things to mention, but I do not remember them at the moment.

Erd |

Erd's initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 And since mounted I think Bili takes this.
"I do not run away!" Erd yells up. She readies her sword, looking to Auron for guidance.

Garren Emeraldeyes |

Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Garren simply shakes his head and flickers out of sight with a shrug.

Sun Xiao |

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
"So you had something to do with Tandall's death?" Sun's eyes narrow.
"Tandall may have been a self-righteous ass, but he was one of the few people I trusted. Your death will be bloody and painful."
