Auron, could I get a tap or two with your wand of lesser restoration? Erd's down 5 Strength.
No problem.
Lesser Restoration: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
While the party is talking to the lady, Auron meditates a while to prepare another casting of Grace.
Garren Emeraldeyes
Kn.History on the Foundation of the Inmaskari Empire: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (9) + 22 = 31
Skill Mastery on the Foundation of the Inmaskari Empire: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
If anything lights a sconce above him, he tries to use that knowledge to get a better idea of what the tablet might say.
Maybe with a synergy bonus? I can't believe I rolled the same thing.
Linguistics: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29
Skill Mastery: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (3) + 22 = 25
Garren focuses on decrypting the tablet and writes down his own notes on the matter in blank pages in Sylwaris' notes.
Erd
"Thanks, Auron."
When Garren starts deciphering and Auron begins to pray, Erd loses interest and goes to scout out the rest of the room on Bili.
Are there any passages leading out of it?

Surprinsinly, there is very little recorded about from where the Imaskari learned their magic. What is know is that they gained a lot of pwoer very quickly.
As stated before, Silwaris notes and maps describe in some detail this complex of linked pocket planes. According to the notes, Sylwaris believes that originally the palace was not like this. But that the destruction of the city of Ahurhanipal corrupted the original multidimensional desing of the palace, basically making it a big mess.
Fortunatelly for her and her expedition, the ghosts of the Inahbitans of Ahurhanipal give her some clues about how to avoid some of the dangers of this place. In return she promised that if it was in her power to do, she would destroy the spirit of the ruler of the city. Apparently, the spirits of every person that died during the destruction of the city are bonded to its ruins. The ghosts believe killing the spirit of their ancient ruler would free them.
Either way, Sylwaris expedition already identified a lot of traps and dead ends that would save you days of exploration and a lot of troubles. Notable sites:
The Trhone Room: They actually never reach the room. But theya re reasonably sure they know the path that leads to it.
Astral plane Patch: a portal leads to what Sywaris believe was an armory. However, it seems that the astral plane is invading that room, to the point that you could enter the astral plane just by walking. From that position she could see small planet in the distance.
The Hall of history: The one where the tablet was found, and last place where Amman was seen. Sylwairs didn't write much about it, it is the last part of her notes. But reading the notes you have the feelnig that she was very excited about that room, it contains dozens of bas-relief
and statues despicting passages of the history of the Imaskari. And thousands of tablets* with ancient writtings.
*Those tablets are not magical unlike the one you have with you.
Erd
Maybe the history room first. Even if Amman's not there it might give some clues about the spirit ruler's powers and weaknesses.
Rynjin
"Interesting." Sun says upon hearing about where the tablet was found. His eyes light up a little.
"Is there anything new there? Stuff people didn't already know about the Empire? I'm very interested in seeing this room now. Besides, it might help us figure out what this Amman is searching for."
Sun Xiao
"We were told that you, or someone else here, might have information about something called the 'Verses of Creation'. We can find little information about them anywhere else."
DM.
Uhm, I suppose you know the phrase the "verses" appear in ancient elven poetry as a reference for the work of their gods and sometimes other gods as well."May what was woven by thine verses never be unraveled", is relative common before the time of man in faerun. I'm surpirsed that you speak of them as, well, something beyond metaphors, until recently I would not had thought of it
**(what is the plural of thy?)
Auron Luckstride
I think it's... "thy". IIRC, the word "thine" is to "thy" what "mine" is to "my", although I've seen them being used interchangeably at times.
Erd
We could use roll20? Though I imagine it being a pain for any more tesseract rooms.
"Thank you elf. I think we will go to the history room."
DM.
I will answer a question that was not stated [/occ]
Q: Why do you know about the verses?
A: I noted that the old poems can be interpreted more literally than precious thought. Then I knew Amman who pointed out to me that the elven poets stop mentioning the verses at the time where the Human empires started rising to power.
==============================================
You take Sylwaris maps and notes and go for the History Room. You enter the portal and and get teleported to a place deprived of any light (But I suppose youa re using Garren amulet So I continue).
You arrive almost side to side to a group of six bipedal beast -"This brown, shaggy-furred beast stands on slate grey hooves. Its head resembles that of a maniacal horned ape." - Aka, Ceustodaemon. They look as surprised as you
[oc]Can you see the map? https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/489083/blackest-scale
Enemy init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
party init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
You guys go first.
Erd
Can't see the map. Try clicking the "Invite Players" button in the left sidebar of the details page and copying over the Share Link at the bottom of the window that pops up. Should look something like https://app.roll20.net/join/123456/a-BCde.
Erd draws her longsword and roars, "Charge!" Bili leaps through the enemy, trying to trample over them as she does.
If we have space to charge (assuming I don't get my Ride-By Attack):
If that's 5 points higher than the daemon's CMD, the daemon falls prone, provokes an AOO, and the following occur:
Erd's AOO (banner, colossus hunter, elevation, prone target): 1d20 + 23 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 23 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 4 = 39 Damage (charging mount, colossus hunter): 6d6 + 33 + 1 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 1, 3, 3) + 33 + 1 = 54 Just noticed the Order of the Sword's Mounted Mastery only specifically counts for charge attacks, so I can't add Bili's Str mod to this one.
Bili's trample (banner, prone target): 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 13 + 1 + 4 = 35 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Bili's bite AOO (banner, prone target): 1d20 + 15 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 15 + 1 + 4 = 29 Damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Erd's Round 1: Draw weapon (move action).
Bili's Round 1: Charging overrun (full-round action).
Erd's AC is 31/25/14 (+4 dodge vs. attacks set against a charge, +4 dodge vs. AOOs re: movement) and Bili's AC is 28/26/8. Bili's overrun attempt does not provoke.
The two continue running past the daemons, hoping to distract them from their allies.
Bili's Round 1: Overrun attempt (standard action) and movement (move action).
Erd's AC is 33/23/16 (+4 dodge vs. AOOs re: movement) and Bili's AC is 30/28/10. Bili's overrun attempt does not provoke.
Auron Luckstride
Wait... Wait...
"Oh, for Oghma's scrolls and pen... Not again..." Auron sighs and then blesses his friends with the power of Oghma.
I cast Blessing of Fervour on the whole party.
Retroiactively add it to Erd's action? :)
Erd
Thanks again Auron!
Then Bili's CMB check is 34, Erd's AOO is 41, Bili's trample is 37, Bili's AOO is 31, Erd's AC is 33/25/14 (+4 dodge vs. attacks set against a charge, +4 dodge vs. AOOs re: movement), and Bili's AC is 30/26/10. Bili's overrun attempt does not provoke (with Ride-By Attack, neither of us provoke our target).
Edit: Ah Nicos just found the thread you made. Here's the Ride-By Attack if you want it: Erd's longsword (charging, banner, elevation, colossus hunter, blessing of fervor: 1d20 + 23 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 23 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 50 Damage (charge, charging mount, colossus hunter): 6d6 + 33 + 27 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 5, 2, 4) + 33 + 27 + 3 = 80
Uh . . . okay.
Confirmation (charging, banner, elevation, colossus hunter): 1d20 + 23 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 23 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 40 Extra damage (charge, charging mount, colossus hunter): 2d6 + 11 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 11 + 9 + 1 = 25
Sun Xiao
Yeah, I can see it. Would you be so kind as to give everyone control of their own token, so we can move on the map?
Sun steps in, and attacks the Cuestodaemon with a single mighty punch.
Immediately after attacking with Pummeling Style, Sun will always reactivate Snake in place of it as a Free action.
FALCON PAAAWNCH!: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 20 = 39
FALCON PAAAWNCH!: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 20 = 28

FALCON PAAAWNCH!: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32

Damage (3 hits): 6d8 + 94 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 5, 5, 4) + 94 = 122
I think it dead. Like, twice.

Sun Xiao wrote:If you are so kind of telling how to do itYeah, I can see it. Would you be so kind as to give everyone control of their own token, so we can move on the map?
Double click on the token, go to where it says "Controlled By" in the third box on the left, and set it to the player's name. If they haven't looked at the map, their name won't appear. I'm Jeremy O.
Auron Luckstride
BTW, Rynjin, remember that Sun Xiao's under effect of Blessing of Fervour, so her could make an extra attack.
Garren Emeraldeyes
Garren takes a step back and flickers out of sight. He readies an action to strike if any of the foul beasts come within reach.
Taking 10 on Stealth and using Shadow Well for a 53.
Erd
Was the overrun successful? If not just bump me back in front.
DM.
Erd and Sun killed each a daemon. A third daemon teleport away. The other trhee remaining release their fiery breath agains the party.
Breath weapon vs Sun and Auron (Dc 17): 6d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 2, 4, 1) = 18
Breath weapon 2 vs Sun and Auron (Dc 17): 6d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 6, 6, 4) = 25
Breath weapon 2 vs Garren and Auron (Dc 17): 6d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 6, 4, 3) = 21

Already accounted for. 1 attack Blessing, 3 attacks BaB, 2 attacks ITWFing = 6 attacks.
2d20 ⇒ (20, 8) = 28
Sun manages to avoid the worst of the blasts.

Not until Brawler 15 (17th level for me).

I know. That's 2d20, I just didn't bothe rputting the modifiers since I pass on a 2.

They did...? Oh, right. They did. I somehow missed that post. oO
Count as silver/cold iron... Clustered Shots, etc.
arrow: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29 damage: 2d8 + 20 ⇒ (2, 2) + 20 = 24

arrow : 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16 I'm guessing this one's a miss.
Auron Luckstride
No problem. I can finish it off next round. Or someone can go there and steal my kill. As long as the daemon ends up dead, I'm fine with either possibility.
Sun Xiao
Sun charges at the nearest undamaged Ceustodaemon, giving it a well placed flying kick to the side of the head.
"Take this!!"
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (17) + 22 = 39
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (2) + 22 = 24

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
5 Hits!: 10d8 + 154 ⇒ (2, 7, 1, 2, 4, 3, 7, 5, 2, 8) + 154 = 195
Oh Pounce, how I've missed you so. *Sighs dreamily*
Erd
Sun, if you're charging, Erd's banner ability gives a +1 to all attacks made as part of a charge.
Erd and Bili wheel around and then charge again, aiming for the daemon nearest to Garren.
Erd's adamantine longsword RBA (charge, banner, elevation, colossus hunter, blessing of fervor): 1d20 + 23 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 23 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 40 Damage (sandstorm, Spirited Charge, mounted mastery, colossus hunter): 6d6 + 27 + 33 + 3 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 2, 4, 4) + 27 + 33 + 3 = 84
Bili's overrun CMB (charge, banner, Improved Overrun, Greater Overrun, blessing of fervor): 1d20 + 19 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 19 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 43
Bili's trample (banner, prone target, blessing of fervor): 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 13 + 1 + 4 + 2 = 27 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Bili's bite AOO (banner, prone target, blessing of fervor): 1d20 + 15 + 1 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 1 + 4 + 2 = 23 Damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
And they move as indicated.
Erd's Round 2: Charge in conjunction with Ride-By Attack (full-round action).
Bili's Round 2: Charging overrun (full-round action).

Btw, keep track on your hps or in the resources spent in healing. Auron never rolled the two reflex save.
Fortunaterly you were in a room big enough for you to fight and still not damage anything...in case you are interested in historical rellics. Either way, you are in a huge room filled with statues, low-releifs and a collection of hunders of tablets with writings. You also find the corpses of a coupel of humas, very likely the formers helpers of Sylwaris. Assuming you take the time to study a portion of all the information in that place you can find the following tale described in several murals.
The first Fisrt settlemst in (what is now the Raurin desert) did not have anything extraordinary. it is true that the citizens had a facination for the magic but they had not acomplished anything big. THat was the time When Umyatin the great king appeared. He unified all the settlement under a single nation, stole the secrets words to the god and give them to the Imakari people. Umyatin was crowned lor Artificier, the first emperor of Imaskari.
Now, you wait there looking for more details or plan to do other stuff first?
Sun Xiao
Sun looks around, reading the tablets and searching for anything new.
