The problem with the description of clear sight goggles is that it is ambiguous " while you where the goggles fog smoke do not grant concealment from you" The last part seems to contradict the 1st or the author meant that if I hide behind a wall that gives me total concealment then the goggles give no benefit. The first part states that fog smoke and foliage give no concealment. if you are in one of those environments how can you have total concealment if I can see through fog and smoke? IT states that these environments grant no concealment. So on a flat plane in the fog how can you have total concealment if Fog give no concealment from the goggles. If the author could explain I would appreciate it. Thank you for chiming in and helping me to refine my question.

Grand Lodge

IF you have total concealment from me because of fog and I put on clear sight goggles can I see you? do you have any cover?

Grand Lodge

I know that Adamantine that Adamantine is listed every where as DR-
but why why is it DR adamantine instead since it is made of adamantine.
If it were then a Barbarian could get some use of against every one accept an opponent with a weapon that could by pass admantine

The Twisted Circle scenario #7-12 was very enjoyable it captured the weirdness of the Manna waste.
The Twisted circle is very atmospheric and creepy. There are lots of chances to role play. The scenario has a moral dilemma. It is best played by a varied party to figure out the mystery. If all you want to do is hack and slash and be a murder hobo this scenario will force you to look outside the box.
This scenario was refreshing change from many of the scenarios I have played and this one I will remember.

To survive make sure you have the hit points don't short change Con 14 minimum 16 even better
Take toughness feat keep all of your hit points. You can buy a shawl of life keeping and a ages of recovery necklace.

I have a cleric of the trickery domain that give him inviability. so I can go invisible. While invisible I can heal, channel and summon and keep my inviability. Cast vanish on the rogue so they will do their job. If you are always drafted as the front line fighter you need better weapons damage and armor and the bard should have your back healing you,

Grand Lodge

no I did not mean do a whole adventure path during a 4 to 5 hour session but small bites of a campaign so you could do parts of the adventure path once a week for 4 to 5 hours similar to a scenario

Grand Lodge

It seems you have some solid Ideas about your Character. Benevolent like the Quakers. They don't pick sides in a conflict.
You could follow the high ground pay slaves for the services they provide to you. Help the underdog escape regardless of alignment. Provide comfort to all; so have have extra food water to share.
Try by diplomacy to save every life. You could also provide voice for the defense. Everyone deserve representation before the law.

Grand Lodge

Please oh great experienced GMs is there any Adventure paths you have run that are practical to run in 4-5 hour slot of time. Is there any way to make an adventure path work
in that time limit?

Grand Lodge

Thank you everyone who responded. Yes it was a goblin fire drum

Grand Lodge

I Know silly but is it viable?

Grand Lodge

Playing a drum is a move action.
Does a wizard need a hand free to cast a spell?
1. Can a wizard play a drum and cast a spell?
2. Can a wizard play his magical drums and use a rod to cast a spell?

Grand Lodge 1/5

Going Through my cronical sheets no chakram but I did find a +1 returning star knife in

Spoiler:
DRAGONS DEMAND PART 3

1st aide gloves come from the the Pathfinder society primer page 24

The nice thing about these gloves is you do not have to make a use magic device roll to use the gloves.

The wearer as a standard action can cast any of the spells by permanently expending a number of sapphires equal to the spell level.
The way it is phrased any player class can use the gloves.

1. If you have an improved familiar with hands that uses wands can the familiar use 1st aide gloves?

2. If you have cast breath of live on your left hand glove and still have sapphires on your right can you spend partial money to replenish your left hands sapphires?

3. can you use breath of life on yourself if you are wearing the gloves when you die?

4. if you are wearing the gloves and die would another player be able to take off your gloves and use them in time to give you the breath of life in time?

5. if there are more limits put on familiars or animal companions using magic please send me a link.

An arrow made of Dark wood and Mithral weighs half what a regular arrow weighs but is stronger than a regular arrow. 1, would the fly a greater distance such as a flight but do the same damage?
2. because both Materials are master work would you get a plus 1 to whit with these arrows?
3. would this stack with a master work or master bow?

Grand Lodge

Magic ray attacks would be a good candidate for weapon focus

Grand Lodge

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond.

Grand Lodge

If you have the orc bloodline do you have to play a half orc?

Is it PFS legal to have the orc blood line and be a race other than half orc?

Grand Lodge

The only two I can think of is Ablative barrier
from ultimate combat it gives you +2 armour bonus and the 1st 5 points of an attack are converted to non lethal damage for every round until
you have used up 5hp per level with a maximum of 50 points.

The mount spell get a trained and cooperative horse or pony for 2hr per level.

Grand Lodge

If I understand correctly it is illegal to use your spell book in pathfinder society as a scroll even if doing so loses the spell from your spell book,
it is also illegal to use another's spell book as a scroll.
And is no exception to this rule?

Grand Lodge

Thanks for the clarification it sounds like it is only what boon or abilities the army has not the charter.

Grand Lodge

So attack a vampire with a +1 magic silver weapon and watch them cry

Grand Lodge

In mass combat they say you can use positive channel to hurt undead troops.
And negative channel to hurt living troops

Can you use alignment channel to hurt evil troops

Grand Lodge

Thank you everyone

A bard /cleric wears Mithral Agile breast plate and a medium shield.
1. The bards spells can be cast with no chance of spell failure
because the Mithral acts as on lighter than normal for purpose of movement
and other limitations. So treat it as light armor for spell failure.
2. The Mithral agile breast plate is a Medium armor greater than light so The full spell penalty applies 25% minus 10% for the Mithral giving The bard a 15% chance of spell failure with her bard spells.

I currently have a Gnome Evocation wizard 6th level with the pyromaniac alternative race trait. The gnome also has a a evocation varsian tattoo.
1. when I cast a evocation fire spell I cast it 2 leveler higher
One level for the pyromaniac trait, and a second level for the evocation
varsian tattoo feat. The save is on a 3rd level spell. The damage is
8 dice instead of the usual 6 dice.
2. I am wildly wrong on the rule there is a fixed limit to how many
bonus you can add to levels of the spell.

Grand Lodge

Thanks for taking the time to write the Guide it is very helpful.
I am going for a Bedrock sorcerer human make tough summoned monsters.

Grand Lodge

as there some where else I can find the answer to my question?

Grand Lodge

1. a 3rd level Grenadier alchemist with an IQ modify of 3 uses his move action to adds an alchemist fire The damage as I understand it is as follows 2d6+3 +d6+3 Because an alchemist add his IQ modifier to splash weapons as well as bombs and the total the total is 15 +9 = 24
2. She threw her bomb at a Babau it has 10 fire resistance.
how do you apply the resistance: 2a 24 -10 for 14 points of damage
because it is one attack. or is it 2b. or is the damage
15 -10 = 5 9-10 =0 total 5

3. the splash damage is 5 2d6+3 since the alchemist fire looses it splash
when added to a bomb.

4. the target get hit with 2 IQ modifiers 1 from the bomb. and one from the alchemist fire. The people with in 5 feet of target only get the 5 damage since the alchemist fire looses its splash ability

5. The alchemist has explosive bomb discovery that sets the target on fire
The target has been hit 3 times and is receiving 3d6 of fire damage per turn do you subtract resistance from all three fires or just once from the total?

The clerics have access to all of the clerical spell. except counter to you alignment. which is more choice than most wizards.
If you want to be a blaster start as a gnome with the pyromaniac alternative race trait, Then be a theologian then chose the fire domain.
You will have the ability to cast a 4d4+4 burning hands at 1st level.
Instead of the normal d4
The pyromaniac treats your fire spells as on higher a theologian adds two more levels. you could be a negative channeling cleric but I would recommend against it.
Cleric have an ace up there sleeve better than a conjurer wizard for summoning. If you take sacred summon feat you may summon monsters of your alignment as a standard action verses the wizard who take to rounds for his summoned monsters to come up. Most of the bad guys are evil and you can have your summoned monsters smite evil once a day do more damage and ignore DR. As a wizard I can do a standard action cast but I have to make a fort save every time I do it or be fatigued.

Grand Lodge

1. I have 2 claw attacks and a bite and I am wearing a boulder helmet
can I make a 4th headbutt attack with the Boulder helmet?
The Dwarven Boulder Helmet is a light melee weapon.

2. If I can"t make the 4th attack why not?

3. If I can make the 4th attack what is the to hit with the helmet.

4. If I have no feat for use of a boulder helmet what is the penalty to attack

5. does wearing a weapon automatically allow you to use it?

6. Can you use a dwarven Boulder helmet if you are not a dwarf?

7. can I make a headbutt attack when I am making an attack with a great
AX?

I have been drawn to Multi-Classing by just preference.
But what I have found is that a multi-classed charter usually
has better saving throws than a single class due to stacking.
Further it opens up skills, abilities that you might not have considered
as a single class Charter. The down side comes in not getting access
to some of the high level spells or traits. Your BAB may be lower
he upside is that you have other choices. When Barbarian Bard
is fatigued he can still sing and help himself and the party.
In PFS sometimes you find you have a cure light wand and no one
can use it accept through use magical device.
Sometimes multi-classing can be a good way to compensate for charter deficit. I have a Gnome barbarian who is also an alchemist because
I lost out at character creation with a minus 2 strength
But when I drink my mutigen an alchmemical bonus
Drink a potion of bull strength a Enhancement bonus
and rage a Moral bonus they all stack and I can do a lot of damage
and have a better chance to hit in melee I also can deal with swarms something a standard barbarian doesn't do as well.
The most powerful Blaster wizard build I have seen is a multiclass charter
Cross blooded sorcerer orc and draconic and an admixture wizard.
The cross blooded does extra damage per die The Admixture
adjusts for imunities I fireball the sucubus she's immune to fire
Lighting so I change my fireball to an acid Fireball that hurts her.
The best advice is play the charter you want to play regardless what the rest of us say it will be the more interesting and fun to play.
However if you shoot your self in the foot and don't like the charter
either discard it or do retraining from the ultimate campaign

As a PFS player dazzled with the wonder and possibilities of the The
Advanced race guide I hope to be able eventually to play all of the races.
Not to make broken charters but to experience the strength and weakness
each race presents. If you feel the role playing is being side tracked
so no one wants to play a humans give human's a boon for being the dominate race in the Inner sea. Bonus to social interaction.
Conversely penalties for social for Tiefling as demon spawn a
who were viewed as a bad omen. The races that are weird to the humans may
have to work at hiding their identities. I look forward to try my hand as a Kitsune. I know they can be silly but I hope some day to play a Pixy Faerie Be tiny but fly.

Grand Lodge

If you are playing PFS they have banned the quick runner shirt.
This is in in player additional resources.
The ability to move is cool and can get you out of bad situations.
The shawl of life keeping can keep you alive by extra hit points.
The only down side of the shawl is it takes the same slot as
a cloak of resistance. IF your in a non PFS see about adding
the cloak of resistance to your shawl of life keeping.
There is one other Item to give hit points it is the martyrs Tear
page 310 of Ultimate equipment. the tear allow you to store
18 hit points. It is more spendy $6000 but is slotless

The goddess Iomedae is the Goddess of valor, Rulership Justice and honor.
Her domains are glory good law sun and war Which domain did your Inqusiter choose? Further why did you become an inquister in the first place what
in the world do you object to and want to stamp out? DO you have any flaws low stats in one area? did you convert or were you always a inqusiter of Iomedae? What does your charter fear? What race are they. What faction
Your reason for being an inquisitor can help with the role play as can the other questions.

Thanks for the help

Grand Lodge

Thanks for addressing the familiar issue your answers were helpful and concise. I had not thought about the risk to familiar

Grand Lodge

For fun and cost I am a big fan of we be goblins which is free.
You have well spelled out crazy goblin charters.
Another adventure that was fun to run do to it role play was
Murder on the throaty Mermaid.

Jester fraud has a really creepy bad guy.

Green river rescue has role playing and strategy

The traitor lodge has a wonderful can you deliver 3 spells in one round? to play a an unusual charterer

The halls of dwarven lore has a mixture of combat roll play and puzzle solving and dwarves

The quest for perfection series is good the
The defenders of nesting swallow is the best where play decision have a direct impact on the fight please run all tree it has a good boon for animal companion and monk
The paled plague is good for player actions and choice win or lose the scenario.
Rise of the goblin guild has an interesting urban setting.
Library of the lion is a skill monkey adventure with choices and planning.

Grand Lodge

Thanks for the feed back the Magus sounds interesting. As does the chronicler.
That said no one addressed the Familiar effect
1. If you cast a touch spell like shocking grasp on you familiar on the previous turn turn 1
on turn 2 your familiar makes a successful touch attack delivering shocking grasp can you cast a second spell spell like magic missile after your familiar has made her touch attack? I know that If I cast a spell before the familiar I just loose the shocking grasp spell.

Grand Lodge

This is how I think it could be done.
1. on the previous turn you cast shocking grasp a touch spell active until
you touch someone. This turn you touch the bad guy.
2nd you make a concentration check and cast a quickened magic missile.
Lastly you make a concentration check and cast Burning hands.
The true is the shocking grasp was cast last turn.
2. I assume you must delver the touch spell or loose it 1st.
3. or Am I wrong you can only deliver the touch spell.
4. or would it work if your familiar delivered the touch spell.
5. can your familiar deliver a touch spell and the do a breath attack?
or is the touch its only action
6. can the familiar cast a spell of its own after it delivers your touch spell.

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

The Mephit description in the bestiary says that the mephit can
summon another mephet of the same type 25% of the time.
1. Is this one of the familiar spell effects?
2. NO similar to a summoned monster a familar cant summon more Mephits.
3. I have my Mephit that uses a wand using it charisma and my skill ranks
in use magic device to make the wand work. I assume that if it suceeds on UMD can use wand.
4. if the familar has the spell with a spell like ability
such as magic missle could it auto suceed using a magic missle wand
5. Another example if your familar can cast cure light wound once a day can the familar auto suceed to use a wand of cure light.

Under the current PFS rules I can play a scenario once for credit
and GM once for credit. And I get a chronicicle sheet for each Does Paizo have a boon or book you can buy to allow you to get a more chronicle sheets?

Grand Lodge 1/5

When are the new changing occurring if they are occurring?

Grand Lodge 1/5

1. all core races from the core rule book are fine

2. when I stared the PFS guide said that you could also play an
: 2a. Aasimar 2b. a Tengus, and 2c. Tiefling if you had the race Guide.

3. Is this changing are you no longer going to be able to play
Aasimar, Tengus, and Tiefling?

4. If this is so is there a way to grandfather in so that you can still
play Aasimar, Tengus, and Tiefling?

5. Are they opening up all of the race guide as an incentive for players to buy the book/

6. Are there any new races coming up

7. If you can't go to a big convention how do you get access to other races?

1. Does the sacred Summing feat only apply to clerics and paladins?.
2. If you are a multiclass conjurer wizard and you take a level of cleric
can you effectively use the sacred Summon feat?.
3. Is the sacred summon only usable by clerics?.

I did see the feat academic student that allowed you to cast
as a standard but you had to make a fort save or be fatigued.

4. is it worth getting for a conjurer wizard?

5. is it feasible to run a wizard with this feat who has a 14 constitution

6. is thier another way to speed up my summoned monster spells?
