Gnome pyromaniac nad class abilities

Rules Questions

Hi all,

I'm building a gnome arcanist and have a question about the pyromaniac alternate racial trait. Does this also affect class abilities? more specific, if I take the exploit that gives me the ray of fire (don't have the book with me now, but it gives me a 30 ft line of fire, reflex for half), does the pyromaniac +1 to DC also increase the DC of this class ability?

shameless bump

also, this is the racial trait in question:
Pyromaniac: Gnomes with this racial trait are treated as one level higher when casting spells with the fire descriptor, using granted powers of the Fire domain, using the bloodline powers of the fire elemental bloodline or the revelations of the oracle's flame mystery, and when determining the damage of alchemist bombs that deal fire damage (this ability does not give gnomes early access to level-based powers, only affecting the powers they could use without this ability). Gnomes with Charisma of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, flare, prestidigitation, produce flame. The caster level for these effects is equal to the gnome's level; the DCs are Charisma-based. This racial trait replaces the gnome magic and illusion resistance racial traits.

Scarab Sages

Is the ability a spell or SLA with the fire descriptor, or granted by the Fire Domain, elemental bloodline, flame mystery, or an alchemist bomb dealing fire damage?

No.

So it isn't increased.

I think this is one of those cases where the ability doesn't include any of the new mechanics because they didn't exist when it was written up. Still by RAW, It doesn't affect them. However it seems reasonable to house rule it for certain fire themed choices (fire shamans, elemental bloodragers) However, the arcanist would probably not qualify, aside from the bonus to spells.

Scarab Sages

Speaking of bloodragers, if you had a gnome bloodrager with the elemental fire bloodline, pyromaniac would apply to them. Bloodragers get bloodline powers of the bloodline, and the alt racial trait doesn't specify sorcerer bloodline, just bloodline.

I currently have a Gnome Evocation wizard 6th level with the pyromaniac alternative race trait. The gnome also has a a evocation varsian tattoo.
1. when I cast a evocation fire spell I cast it 2 leveler higher
One level for the pyromaniac trait, and a second level for the evocation
varsian tattoo feat. The save is on a 3rd level spell. The damage is
8 dice instead of the usual 6 dice.
2. I am wildly wrong on the rule there is a fixed limit to how many
bonus you can add to levels of the spell.

Add Spell Specialization to your fireball and you've got a 10d6 fireball at 6th level!

Do this as a Sorceror with the proper bloodline arcana, and it's 10d6+10 fireball at 6th level.
