The one set of creatures in the 1rst wave can just d door to the edge and strde off unless pcs are able to stop them before the vreatures go again.
Party was mostly at the bridge.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Hoping there is no need for erratta right away. Would like to see rules and spell descriptions precisely worded.

2 sleds.

Correct. Non magical is fine. Extracts not magical.
Doesnt mean you cant do anything. Would say if its condusive to the ritual then good.

Amenopheus tells pcs that casting spells, spell like abilities, activate magic items and even drinking potions can disrupt the ritual.
So why do any of that to begin with?
If you do, all take 5d6 no save.
Then why keep doing it?
Even so, Amenopheus would probably kick you out for being ignorant wether or not you can mitigate it.

Pick a dif pregen then. Plenty to choose from.
Take Harsk.

Death.
I have enuff prestige for raise dead and 2 restorations.

Discuss what your pc does and tactics before the game in pc intros.
Doing the above before every single pc turn is way too much.
Thats my 2cp.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Here and there is one thing but sounds like its way overdone. Players need to play their own pc. Coaching new people on options and consequences of ea option is more what pfs is about. Then let them decide.
They should also know that its their pcs discussing tactics on battlefield and the npcs can hear all this if they understand the pcs language.
Encounters will run longer. As for # 4, hard to put a set time on it. Let players know whos next so they can formulate a plan of what to do on their turn.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Looks like same pic from silver mount collection. Real Nigel.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Ran into him at port eclipse recently. He gets around.
He gave us a true to form murder hobo mission. Straight up. Unlike other vague missions from others.

Think he works part time at mcdonalds too.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

No replacement stil.
Longest tenure of an interim head coach.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Gm says...... I wont be rolling any dice.
I pre-rolled everything.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Gear meld auto.
You have to drop or give gear to someone to hold. Take back wpn, etc... and have party help dress you in armor.

Scenario is going to be in harsk mode.

Can a pc wear horseshoes?

If you're a druid sure... just buy the horseshoes and a masterwork farriers kit, Shoeing a horse should be a DC 10.
I guess that also requires the druid not having anything magical in hir feet slot before horsing around...

Can i aquire 2 vestigal legs?

I'll be good to go then

Dark Archive

Can a pc wear horseshoes?

Dark Archive 5/5 *

There are scenarios that have pcs all roll and highest is the lead and others check to see if they aided.
I feel its situational otherwise.
Many scenarios have knowledge check charts after vc briefing. Dont see why pcs cant discuss and aid other on those.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Bringing a cooler. No lines. Cheaper.
Hopefully more healthy.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

if you roll and win a player boon, does it have to go on the pc you are playing that day? or can you assign it to any pc?

Dark Archive 5/5 *

There is no real set up. Total gm variation. Some where in paved area between manor and front gate.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Eat between slots. Keep drinks off the table.
Items to take notes during briefing. Getti g to npc later on just to call them whats his name, kinda lame.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Gm cookies. Lol.
Good attitude, respect for others and a spreadsheet of all your melee attack options if melee. Re adding your to hit and dam. all the time is a downer.

Also items to NOT bring.....
Lots of cross talk/table talk and sickness

Dark Archive 5/5 *

There is no 4 player adj. for A.9.

Congrats to all.
Special shout out to Naren P. Wtg.
Well deserved. Great to play in your games and also play alongside you.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

A Led Zeppelin reference. Awesome.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Rebuild until you play at lvl 2. Once you play, then its retraining.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Season 9: Year of the superhero.
Player cmpanion lets you build marvel heroes. The season consists of finding 5 infonity ioun stones. Only to have them stolen by the aspis kree. Then take on runelord Thanos in last scenario. LOL.

Dark Archive

The rider gets 1 atttack per ride by. The mount gets no attacks.
Only the rider is granted an attack. The mount is continuing the move. Not stopping to attack.
Thats how i would rule it.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Why dont you play this last one as it is your last hurrah instead of giving pc gm credit?
Play waking rune.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Fortress of the nail.
Dissapeared

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Our lady of silver

Dark Archive

The dead creature/npc comes back as a skeleton or zombie determined by the state
the corpse is in.
Apply whichever traits to the corpse.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

I would just run with it as it is. Otherwise you are spending lots of extra prep time going through all the stat blocks. Being off 1 or 2 on to hit and damage is minor.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

andreww wrote:
Also, how much dex drain does the weakened denizen of leng do? the stat block says 1d6, the ability description says 1d4.

d4. it's d6 normally.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

They get whats coming to them then.
Happens. Dont worry about it.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Perhaps spreading out the encounters will help so encounters dont trigger ea other.

Also players do the darndest things.
They can cause their own tpk.

Ran this 2x. Had 1 death and 1 near death.

Dark Archive

Plus the target gets sr and a will save.
Works like a crit like others said before.
Good luck with official ruling.

Wow. That is so bush league.

That is poor gming. Hope it has not happened other times and he just happened to mention just this time. Makes you wonder about the other scenarios that have been run.

We do not have the full information on this, but it sounds from OP that it was due to the 'flexibility' allowed on this particular scenario.

It does serve a cautionary tone, and when I'm judging this, I'll try to be very careful to *not* have everything be a huge middle finger to my players.

Op states what gm told him. What more info is there?

This is set up as design your dungeon.
Designining it to purposely screww your players is b.s.
I have gmed this 2x. I picked variety of encounters to encompass different traits, dr, resis., etc....
Also not to place everything adjaacent
so you dont trigger multiple encounters.

Im doing a paladin/ monk champion of irori

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Im in the same boat. I just play without being able to do spell combat.
Not the end of the world. Doesnt make it unplayable.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Needed to do it before tiefling sacrified himself to play the prisoner.
Too late. No free pass. Do not pass go. No $200.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Just pick everything yourself. Pick the encounters you are comfortable with.
Place encounters, treasure in rooms that have a description that goes best with it.
I put the deathtrap ooze in b.4. Made for a good encounter as opposed to having it in a big room.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

Love this scenario. Great design. Can be highly dangerous if you stock your dungeon in certain ways. Need to be aware of that so to give pcs a good chance.

Definetely best to place the treasure packages ahead of the encounter they are needed at.
Really enjoy being able to place encounters and treasure packages wherever i want. Lots of planning as to put encounters in a place that is most appropriate and have enuff room to manuever. 3 bad guys on mounts need much room.

Dark Archive

would a champion of Irori be able to have the lucky toad from WBG4?
would it be considered a familiar since it has a special ability for the pc?

Dark Archive 5/5 *

15 pcs ea one a dif race.
Half elf, human, dwarf, nagaji, tengu, aasimar, elf, halfling, gnome, half orc, grippli, tiefling, oread, suli and a kitsune.
Next up an ifrit.

My table last night ended up being full but a pair of lvl 3s put the game in the high tier with the 4 player adjustment. My observations:

Linguistics: I had a couple moments of "why can't I just roll linguistics to read the language I can't read?" One of my pet peeves (alongside an overinflated importance on the Perceprion skill to find macguffins) is PFS scenarios allowing Linguistics to fill in for actual/magical language knowledge for less-than-book-length passages. Bravo to the writer for keeping Linguistics to read Tien to one, appropriate instance in this scenario.

Respect points: this group was pretty middle of the road on their behavior on the Pilgrim's path, very murderhobo-y in the temple proper, but blew away Diplomacy checks on the BBEG and still ended up at a net +3 respect points. Since they started with 10, they easily qualified for the super-happy ending. Starting with 5 points instead of 10 seems like it would have been better balanced, unless of course the intention was that Jiraku almost never be fought at all (that's an insane challenge especially in the lower tier)... If so, starting with 10 points seems like a good beginning point.

CR difficulty: dovetailing with the mention about Jiraku's high CR, the guard-snakes nearly TPK'd the group. They were tough as is, but all four (three in the 4PA) getting to gang up on one PC while the party is all strung out in unsuppprting positions cranked the challenge beyond what may have been computed on paper. Since that was the tactics specifically called out, I'm sure the force multiplication factor for the snakes was anticipated.... but man. THat fight was very nasty and the PCs barely survived it.

Speaking of unsustainable expenditure of resources: this is more of a funny anecdote. Good enough to share, imo. After barely surving the snakes, the party consensus was to rest up before exploring further. The party wouldn't listen to the guy playing the lvl3 who reminded them of the super handy camp/cave just a few miles back, nor...

That was a good idea to do the nagaji ambush then.

Linguistics very important to have.
Yes, even trashing the place and disregard to rules of the path and failure on the 3 q's still not enuff to trigger jiraku.
