Ok with that... But then it remain active for all the battle or run out instantly? My playgroup has many doubt about this trait...

"A qlippoth can present itself as a standard action to assault the senses of all living creatures within 30 feet. The exact effects caused by a qlippoth’s horrific appearance vary by the type of qlippoth. A successful Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the qlippoth’s Hit Dice + the qlippoth’s Charisma modifier) reduces or negates the effect. This ability is a mind-affecting gaze attack."

That is the rule. My question is: this abilty is always active like a gaze attack? Or the qlippoth active it with a standard action and all player in the area throw the saving dices?

Thanks for all answers

Where can I find the rule or the faq that explain the trow weapons are both melee and ranged when appropriate?

Hi everyone,
My group have problems about throw weapons and specifically:
Can a throw melee weapon use feats for ranged weapons? for example is a dagger (a melee weapon but also a throw weapon) considered a melee weapon if it is used in melee and is it considered a ranged weapon if it is thrown (and if so can I apply feat like point-blank and precise shot? And what about rapid shot and deadly aim)?

Why a player read the future of your adventure path?
Dude what happen if nocticula try to dominate you and whatever you roll you fail only because you GM decided to do so?
What happen if you attack and kill Nocticula only to find that it was a simulacrum or a clone?
I personally advise you to not ruin your own fun, taking it ease in building you character and discover what happen in the Adventure Path playing it and not reading it first.

Hi everyone,
Me and my group are going to start a new quest, and I've decided to build an arcanist.
I was thinking about a war-familiar empowered by some polymorph spell, but I don't know if the HP of the familiar will raise or not. Can someone aske me?
And then, can I build an arcanist with both brown-fur and occultist archetype?

Hello everyone.
Yesterday a doubt come in my mind.
If I have a rapier +2 construct bane (total enhancement +3), does this weapon overcome a lycanthrope DR/silver?
And then, if I am against a golem, since my weapon is construct bane and its enhancement bonus increase to +4,do my weapon bypass his DR/adamant?
Thanks

I don't know if this is the right session to post this thread.

In few months me and mine friends are going to start the new version of the curse of crimson throne and I wish to use an unchained class.
What I wanted to know is:
The NPCs used in that adventure are unchained?
After the pubblication of Parhfinder unchained all the NPCs in the succesive adventure path are the unchained version?
Actually is possible to use Dex on damage for the monk's unarmed strike?
Thanks

3 people marked this as FAQ candidate.

May I take some pre-unchained evolution with my unchained eidolon? I would like take unnatural aura and other undead-tematic evolution but I don't understand if now it is possible
Thanks

If you don't know what it is, don't worry too much. ^_^

PFS stands for Pathfinder Society. It's an organized play system for playing Pathfinder. You can learn more here.

So all the legal stuff in PFS are in the Pathfinder reference? Inner sea world guide isn't legal?

Thank you very much!

Kalindlara wrote:
This is also a valid method - note that the effortless lace is not PFS-legal, however.

How can I know if something is legal in PFS? And what does mean PFS and what is it?

The feat Slashing Grace says:
"Prerequisite(s): Dex 13, Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus with chosen weapon.

Benefit: Choose one kind of one-handed slashing weapon (such as the longsword). When wielding your chosen weapon one-handed, you can treat it as a one-handed piercing melee weapon for all feats and class abilities that require such a weapon (such as a swashbuckler's or a duelist's precise strike) and you can add your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to that weapon's damage. The weapon must be one appropriate for your size."

So if I choose longsword I add Str on hit and Dex on damage? Does it have any sense for non Swashbuckler character? Is there any way to hit on Dex and to damage on Dex with this feat?
Thx

In fact my true doubt is about Beyond Morality. If an ex NG player get Beyond Morality and later Divine Source and because of its choices change his "true" alignment to CN what happens?
And another LN character with Divine Source have acces only to the Law Domain or to the Law Domain and another one of his choice?
My English could be bad, sorry

This power allows to cast spell from two alignment domains matching the alignment of the character, what if the character is true neutral or have the "Beyond Morality" path ability? And if the Divine Source path ability is taken again at 6th tier grant a domain and two subdomain, so that domain is one of the choice of the player?

Is it possible to apply talent like precise shot and point-black shot on the simple blasts?

I divert from the discussion about burn, I'm more interested in telekinetic blast.
I think that will be a complicated power: I think is unfair to being able to throw a silver ore or a silver dagger on a werewolf and don't bypass his DR. Isn't it better to add a list of material you can trow with this ability (like the ki ability of the monk)that can bybass the DR?

EDIT: About the burn's problem... I think that is better to have a pool of "burn point" like the magus for his arcane pool. Fewer problems and doing so is compatible with mithic rules.

I think that this class is amazing. It's strange for a caster to cast with CON, maybe is better with CHA or INT? Doing it with COS will generate only characters with poor abilities except for DES and COS.

EDIT:... and maybe is better if in the prerequisites of the wild talent will be written what kind of kineticist can cast it, and which one is universal.

Thank you very much, but I still don't understand if I can start build more than one room at the same time. If I start to build a kitchen (6 days) and a bedroom (20 days) at the same time, this building will be ready after 20 days or 26?

No one can answer?

Yes the SR will increase with every modification you apply on the monster. The formula 11 + CR is alwais valid

I've started a week ago to read this section of Ultimate Campaign but I have some doubts:
-Is it possible to sell capitals?
-Can I recruit/build more than one team/room at the same time?
Example: if I buy 20 Goods, 20 Influence and 20 Labor can I spend them all for build 2 rooms at the same times?
- If I build only a room it can start immediatly to generate incomes?
- I don't undestand the whole upkeep phase: Where is written that I have to pay daily my activities or organizations?
Sorry for my bad english

Thanks everyone!

My doubt is when I have to calculate the damages on the Invidiak: I have to apply first is incorporeal quality and then his DR or I have to apply first his DR and then the incorporeity?
Sorry if my english may be incorrect

So neither blindsense, blindsight or keen scent?

Undetectable: This grants its bonded user the
ability to become utterly undetectable while invisible.
While invisible and in physical contact with this
item, the bonded creature can't be detected or
scryed by any method.

What does it means "can't be detected or scryed"?
Does "see invisibility" and "true seeing" still work?

Thanks

Hi everyone! Yesterday we encountered a oracle with the mistery of ancestor, and she used on us Storm of Souls. And my doubt born here: that power can destroy carried items like cloaks of resistance, bag of holding and similar? And how much hp have these items?
Many thanks and sorry for my english

I'm running for the first time a mythic adventure and I'm using a lv3 summoner. Yesterday my party become mythic, but I have some doubts about which mythic path I should choose.
My doubts are: if I become epic, my eidolon become epic too? So I should choose a mythic path for him too? Or exist some mythic power that empower him?

Sorry for my very bad english... I hope that my questions are clears

When does the paizo make the psionics and the 3.5 warlock?

Arcanist: (like the 3.5 prestige class...) ULTIMATE MAGUS
Warpriest: Templar forever
Investigator: THE WITCHER (like my friend call him)
Brawler: Fistfighter, or BANE (like my friend call him)
Slayer says: "I'm Batman"

I assumed Paizo Publishing.

I'm likely wrong.

Sorry, where I come from PP = Power Player

I think that Martial Maneuvers of the brawler is too powerful and tricky.
IMHO add the rules that the brawler level count as monk and warrior level on the purpose of feats is enough for replacing Martial Maneuvers. Too many feats for this class.

Why pathfinder needed to stay compatible with 3.5 four years ago and now no?

ok thanks

Me too think that rogue and monk are the weakest class in the game, but why don't improve them?
Because Pathfinder needs to stay compatible with 3.5. So they con't go changing Rogue and Monk significantly, like changing their BAB or saves or stat dependencies. Therefore, they have to make something new that fills the same role but doesn't match an existing class in 3.5, hence the brawler.
Pathfinder needed to stay compatible with 3.5 4 years ago, not now.

Exatly, now dnd is changing to dnd next, that is significatly different to the 3.5. I'm thinking that is better or to improve the base classes or disempower these new classes until we are in time.

The items says:
"An iron band, this simple ring generates a shield-sized (and shield shaped) wall of force that stays with the ring and can be wielded by the wearer as if it were a heavy shield (+2 AC)". So my question is: does a monk loose his wisdom bonus to AC while wearing this item? Why?

EDIT:

Kolokotroni wrote:

The jury is out on the arcanist, I have a problem with it too. But that is an issue because the wizard is already a strong class.

The rogue and monk are NOT strong classes. They are the weakest in the game. Making something that is monk like or rogue like and making them balanced with the entire game space (not just those 2 classes) means they MUST be more powerful. Otherwise you just create new underpowered classes which is not balanced. Balance does not mean there is NO option more powerful then another. That hasnt existed in dnd since always. Balance means that you have a certain framework of power and you stay within that. The brawler and slayer are not more powerful then a druid or wizard. So they lie somewhere in the middle of the power scale with classes like the alchemist, sorceror, inquisitor, paladin and barbarian. Thats balanced. We shouldnt always compare every new option to the least powerful counterparts and scream overpowered.

Me too think that rogue and monk are the weakest class in the game, but why don't improve them? I don't think that a brawler come from a monastery, so a player that want to role a true monk find himself weaker than a simply brawler? It is the same with a player that want to be a stealthy rogue... and find himself weaker then the slayer?

Kolokotroni wrote:

As for the bloodrager. As my player found out in our playtest, it isnt better then a barbarian. You are missing the rage powers which the blood rager doesnt have access to...

Which rages power are good choices? I find all the blood line power much better and powerful

When I changed from the 3.5, I liked a lot pathfinder because all the Core Classes were the powerful variant of their old selfs, and because they seemed to be all balanced. I think that since the alchemist all the classes started to be more broken. I find all Pathfinder classes beatiful, but with the Advanced Class Guide new classes are too way powerful. I think that we are falling into the same error of the 3.5 with their prestige classes.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Talking seriously: I like them all, and I'd always liked multiclassing since the 3.5 and especially for the Ultimate Magus. But now this new classes are just too way powerful. The Arcanist (such a sad name...) is the fusion of the sorcerer and the wizard using their best qualities. I never liked the wizard and prepare the spell in general, but now with this new kind of preparation I think that the wizard is a dead class. Just as the rogue and the monk. So my question is: Why at every new handbook the base class are stronger and stronger? Can't Paizo simply belance all the classes? There a also many wonderful archetypes unclear like the Undead Lord and the Synthetist that still wait clarifications. Why a player have to coice the barbarian if the bloodrager is essentialy identical with the addiction of the bloodline power?
PS: Sorry for my bad English

Has been written an adventure path set in Cheliax or in border realms? What are their name?

How does the Corpse Companion ability of the Undead Lord works exatly? Does he all times need to animate a new skeleton to obtain new Hit Dice?

Does the rules in the Ultimate Psionics handbook legal for a normal campaign? When this manual will be avaiable?
Sorry for my bad English and thanks

EDIT: this is the manual with the rules: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/monster-news/getyourultimatepsionicspreorder now

Can i use a large scimitar as a 2 handed weapon without malus?

Can a character wear a chainshirt above a courtisan outfit? Does the character gain the outfit's bonus? If he can't, can he wear that outfit above the armor or he loose the outfit beneficts?

Another doubt... while "wearing" an Eidolon a Synthesist can wield a simple weapon? Does he still proficient?

I've already done another threat about the Summoner-Syntetist, but now I've other doubts. Does a Synthesist qualify for these talent:
Defending Eidolon;
Focused Eidolon;
Sense Link?
These are talent that a normal summoner can take, but the syntesist doesn't have the prerequisite though he have the same ability named differently.
Also the talent Resilient Eidolon can be normally taken by a Syntesist... but how it work for him?
I hope that my english is not too bad...
*Edit: thanks to Avianfoo for your variant of Syntesist, but my GM prefer to use the paizo materials (letteraly....).

What is a LI? I see people responding as if you said CL, or caster level, so I'm guessing they're equivalent, but I'm curious, as I've never seen LI before.

Sorry, I'm used to write "LI" instead of "CL" becausa I'm Italian. Thanks for the Summary!

Can I create a item with a LI higher than my LI? Example a lv 3 wizard can create a lv 8 belt of Strenght ?

ok, thanks everyone =), now is all clear

The caster level of the item is important if it is the target of a Dispel Magic. It also influences the duration, range, and power of any temporary effects. The Belt in question doesn't have any, so it's less immediately relevant.
