Scarecrow and Mrs. King

Fun stuff!

Rebecca Merosett of the house Merosett is a wonderful middle aged mother of 2 grown men who is quite bored with her home life as her husband is on a diplomatic mission to Magnimar. She has recently taken up the study of magic in an attempt to keep herself busy, and while she doesn't truly realize it, craves adventure.

Character concept: A cross of Molly Weasley and Mrs. King from "Scarecrow and Mrs. King". Grounded, intelligent, and pleasant. She has years of lived experience, but is ready for something a bit different.

I will detail the remainder of the family (husband and 2 sons) and some of her major life events if she is picked up for the adventure.

Interested in this as well. Long time PBP player, and offline GM and player. I would like to submit an update of my Tendal Deverin, a scholar, snob, merchant and adventurer of the Deverins of Magnimar.

After having a hand in saving Riddleport and surviving several calamities, fate has taken an interest in him, and steered his path into this new challenge.

But, if y'all are going to look for another GM and prefer to recruit another player, then all good to me. Whatever works for y'all.

Hey! How are you! I would be happy to have you join us in the challenging task of filling Joana's DM throne.

I can vouch for Javell if you haven't played with him before. Solid RP and tactics player, very good all around.

The north side of metro Detroit is a mess too. I got missed but every e south of me in the neighborhood lost power.

I get it. Life has been super crazy and busy! Kids/Job/Covid = chaos.

So, first of all, my apologies for the disappearance. I suffered a stroke in March, just before everything shut down here in Michigan. As you can imagine, that was a bit higher on the priority scale than playing games. The good news is that everything is fine, and I've fully recovered. I appreciate all the kind words.

Holy cow dude! I am so sorry that you went through with that. I hope you recovered fully! March in Michigan was not the time to get any medical condition, especially in Metro Detroit. I hope you got good care, whichever hospital you were at.

Male Humanish Emergency Medical Doctor/3; Pilot/8; Argumentative/4; Biologist/5

Still doing ok. Detroit is a bit of a mess, as I imagine most of the major metropolitan areas are or will be. The system that I work for started out well resourced, so while we are burning through PPE at a furious clip, we started ahead, so there was some time to flex. That being said, I have bought my own gear and have a N100 mask on the way to myself soon. I don't want to get myself or my family sick.

Thank you for the well wishes, I will post when I can.

So as you know I am an Emergency Physician. I will attempt to check in as regularly as I can, but I have no idea how things are going to go over the next few weeks here in the US. Sorry, stay safe and wash your hands.

Well, the good news is that I get quarantined for some reason, I will be able to post more. The bad news is that as my coworkers get quarantined, since we work in the EC, we will likely work more up until I get quarantined.

Totally interested. Looking forward to trying out PF2E!

Spoiler:
Talin Proum once knew his place in the world. Third son of the mayor of Arwyll Stead, he had been squired to the Arwyll family, and had great plans to serve as a proud defender of the Stead against the continual threat of the orcs and the looming presence of the Whispering Tyrant. Now, as far as he knows, he is the last Steader alive. When pressed he tells a story of a valiant defense of the small keep at the Stead, of being struck down by a skeleton during the defense and regaining his senses in a pile of bodies in the captured keep, and sneaking his way out by the privy followed by months wandering in the wilderness evading undead patrols.

An open and honest young man he has made his way from town to town guarding caravans, doing odd jobs and helping around town. When asked most would describe him as a nice young man, a young puppy that got beaten. While initially accepted, some miasma hangs on him that eventually causes him to wear out his welcome. It is rare to find him relaxed, and that only seems to occur when he is deep in cups of ale. Every so often one can find him standing somewhere odd, a blank ashen look on his face, his eyes lost, boxes or bags forgotten in his hands.

Background: Lost and Alone

I get it, its no big deal. He is a very solid character in my mind now. His personality and mannerisms are squirming around looking for a chance to play. I will have to make the character sheet for him though.

B) Returning Descendant
C) Monk

Male Humanish Emergency Medical Doctor/3; Pilot/8; Argumentative/4; Biologist/5

@Joana: I think that the Internal Medicine resident who made the schedule should have consulted a pack of drunk monkeys on the schedule before publishing...it might have made more sense. :)

they are switching me back and forth. I had one week of nights. The first, third and fourth month alternate between long call, short call, and work days. The call days are all days that I pick up new patients coming to the ICU. I only get 4 days off this month...and one of them was wasted coming off of the night shift.

Next month is back to my crazy EM schedule...I will have tons more time than this!

Male Humanish Emergency Medical Doctor/3; Pilot/8; Argumentative/4; Biologist/5

Enjoy! I hope you get enough flight time to sate your interest. Heli repair sounds like it could be pretty lucrative later on too. I know that the oil companies use a lot of helos for lift out to the rigs. So there will likely be jobs on the back end if you enjoy yourself.

Also, once you are though basic, you will have time to play. So I know I look forward to hearing from you!

I will plan on getting the gameplay thread up and running again this week. Zeta, are you back stateside? I hope your daughter handled the trip well. I never tried going farther than a grandparents' house in the next state with anything younger than a preschooler.

I am sorry for your loss.

She actually did surprisingly well. The plane flights went much much better than I expected as well as the long train rides. Both my wife and I were exhausted by the travel, as expected. All in all, the trip went awesomely well. Not sure that I would risk it a second time, I think we were lucky.

My father has been on hospice care for a few weeks, and the nurse has told us that he will probably die today. This is not a shock or a surprise, as he received a terminal diagnosis a little more then two years ago, and he has been fortunate enough to experience very little pain or discomfort until this spring; however, I am obviously going to have to take some time off to be with my family and help my mother in the days and weeks ahead.

I'm not going to call an absolute halt, as I enjoy my games and will most likely post as I can; however, I will undoubtedly be slower to respond for a while. Thank you for your understanding.

First, I am sorry for the trying times that you are having. If there is anything that I can do to help, please let me know. You and your family are in my prayers.

Second, we got back in one piece, and my daughter is slowly coming off of the jet lag as she re-accustoms herself to our home time zone.

About the same. My rogues tend to die early...playing with you, Joana, is the only time that I have successfully survived.

All the rest, I have gone through. Least favorite: sorcerer. Most odd/fun: goblin monk (1d4 tiny fists of fury!)

Regardless, best luck to everyone!

Cade, Noviate Cleric of Iomedae

Cade has what likely is a fatal disease. He caught it as a very young boy one night when he snuck out of his room at the tavern and tradehouse that his family ran and wormed his way underneath the trestle tables, between the boots of a rapt and attentive crowd. A bard sung that night, elven and fair, she played an instrument and spun a long tale of dragons, of battle, of last stands, of fair love and of courage in dark times. Like ill humors, the tales of valor and shining knights seeped into him and wrapped their claws around his heart. He has yet to recover.

Cade heard the call of Iomedae not soon after, with dreams of lions and swords shining against swirling darkness. Being the third son, his family was not unhappy with his decision to enter the priesthood, and with a nice donation, he was sent to learn.

Cade took to the prayers, the exercises and sword work, the rote learning, the privations and the discipline as a duck takes to water. He swum in it easily, his native element, and grew in strength of arm, strength of faith and strength of spirit.

Unlike some of his peers, Cade prayed to be sent from Lastwall. Sent forth as part of a crusade against demons, or purging some lair of evil. Instead he was sent to Truanu. For a short time, Cade was crestfallen. He was being sent to some backwater, away from the fight, away from danger. Then he read up on what the temple had written about Truanu in its Codex, and it was as he could hear the roaring of Iomedae in his heart. The natives of Truanu were so noble, they fought tooth and nail for their homes against the unending hordes. It was exciting, it was desperate it was almost romantic!

So Cade is now firmly established under the command of Tyari Varvartos, whom he is nearly heartsick for, and he trains with Brantos Calderon and very nearly worships the ground the paladin walks on. Among such noble heroes, Cade is ready to wade into battle, charge against the darkness, and call down the fury and strength of Iomedae against the foes of Truanu and the Light.

Appearance: Brown hair cropped short (so it fits under a helmet), clean shaven (so no enemy can grab his beard), bright eyed and full of cheer, Cade always has a ready smile and easily brightens up wherever he is.

OK, I've asked to Norrick to join the group, I really appreciate all the effort you guys went into to make characters. It was very difficult to make the final decision, almost a flick of a coin. Loved the cheese, and the artist, but liked the combination of half-orc, resident of Trunau and air-elementalist at the end of the day.

If I get another opening, (which I don't expect) I will give you guys first refusal. I'm already over committed really, so can't start up another.

@Somer, I have not made the selections of many games, it is kind of persistence. I've never used them, but there's a couple of threads on character background creation, if I get a chance I'll put a link to them.

One last time, thank you all for making such a great group of characters to choose from. Wishing you Good Luck in the future.

Thanks for the consideration! I plan on following the exploits of the party.

I have a tiefling arcanist artifact hunter that I am interested in playing. I will try to get it posted tonight.

The artifact hunter is a job/fluff, not an actual class option. The character is a straight arcanist.
