Did Highness get a medal? He wasn't ever part of the "Hero" thing, so I am trying to figure out how he would respond, one way or the other.

I'm going to go with no because he wasn't part of the group that contracted for the task.

Guardian's Way, on the other hand, he's in from the start for, so come back successful from there and he'll be an official Breachill Hero.

Shopping-wise, I'm happy to honor a matching discount as part of Breachill's outreach to their goblin neighbors.

Did we actually get any loot to divide up from our dungeon crawl? Highness has the grasping hand, but not much else.

He is a poor poor goblin.

If possible he will sell the hand to get some healing potions. While the hand is fun, potions will keep him alive.

Ragna posted the loot list on the previous page.

P.S. Age of Ashes went to print too early to specify grades of silver, but, yeah, I think it's safe to assume that the longsword was bottom-of-the-line silver.

Information on the Adventurer's Discount is on page 9 of the Player's Guide, but it basically gives you 5% off anything you buy.

In addition, you can now attempt the Befriend a Local downtime activity, which is not on AoN for some reason?

Befriend a Local:
BEFRIEND A LOCAL
CONCENTRATE
DOWNTIME
LINGUISTIC
You spend the day in the company of an NPC whose companionship you value in order to strengthen the bonds of your friendship with them. You can always roll a Diplomacy check to determine your degree of success when you try to Befriend a Local, but you can instead attempt another skill check of your choice to engage that NPC in an area of expertise they might be interested in. For example, if you seek to befriend a local smith, you could instead roll a Crafting check to make friends. Or if you seek to befriend an herbalist, you could attempt a Medicine check or a Nature check. As you interact with an NPC, you might discover other personality traits that suggest other skill check options—for example, after a few days of chatting with a local hunter you might learn that they have a deep appreciation of music, allowing you to attempt a Performance check to befriend them. If you elect to attempt a skill check other than Diplomacy, your GM will decide if the check you chose is applicable—if not, the outcome of your check is one degree of success worse. Regardless of the skill you choose, the DC is 20.
Critical Success You befriend the NPC, and that NPC particularly favors your company. If the NPC is a merchant, goods and services purchased from them are discounted by 10% rather than 5%. If the NPC is not a merchant, their friendship instead grants you a +1 circumstance bonus to Diplomacy checks you attempt as part of downtime activities in Breachill, as long as they favor you. These benefits are permanent, as long as you don’t take actions that jeopardize this friendship (as determined by the GM). Once you have permanently gained an NPC’s favor in this way, the GM might decide the NPC helps you in other ways as well.
Success Per critical success, except the NPC’s favor lasts for a number of weeks equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1 week).
Failure The NPC does not favor you.
Critical Failure The NPC is offended or insulted by something you did. You no longer gain the effects of an ongoing success or critical success with that NPC, and the DC to use Befriend a Local with that NPC in the future increases by 5.

Technically, you're not in town all day, but just pick an NPC you have reason to meet up with while shopping (Ragna and Highness) or interrogating Calmont (Jonagher). Darla Befriended a Local in the other thread and can stay with that result unless she wishes to try to Befriend someone else instead?

If nobody calls out anything specific, then we should sell the lot and split the proceeds!

There's Wilford Lavendil, the half-elf who is currently captain of the town guard, or you can pick a regular guardsman, if you prefer. You might have a history of some kind with Lavendil, as you were both half-elves with human mothers in Breachill at about the same time. I'll let you decide.

Yup. I looked it up and cut-and-pasted her list below.

1) Recent comings and goings around Voz's bookstore;
2) Info about Voz's past (including how long she's been in Breachill)
3) What was the building's purpose before Voz bought it (especially around the time Citadel Altaerein was built).

I assume we won't have any trouble selling this stuff in a town the size of Breachill? Sell for 50% of value?
I'll keep the Potency Talisman for Ragnhild's axe and the Owlbear Claw for her shield. The Soul Gem probably doesn't do anything, but won't hurt to hold on to it. Our bard can use the Touch of Idiocy Scroll which is a good debuff and our oncoming druid will be able to use the Acid Arrow scroll, which does solid damage, so keep those two. Give the books we found to the town Archives, and sell everything else unless there's anything else anyone wants. Don't know if Jonagher wants to keep the silver sword or not, so I've listed it as sell for now. Ragnhild has her hands full dual-wielding, so I myself am not really interested in the consumables/throwables, but speak up if there's something you want.

Things I've listed under Sell are worth 253.7, divided by 50% equals 128.85. Split five ways = 25 GP, 3 SP, 7 CP each.

Ragna will upgrade her armor to Splint Mail for 13 GP and save the rest of her money for weapon rune :P

Is it possible for Highness to get +1 Handwraps of mighty blows? They are 2nd level items and would be the great growth item for Highness.

Highness also needs the absolute best looking costume jewelery in town...not that he will really know its "costume" jewlery, just that its the most bling-tastic stuff he can find.

I believe Breachill is a level 4 settlement, which means that items up to level 4 are available for purchase. Handwraps +1 are level 2, so, yes, they are on the table.

Jonagher, I think, had expressed interest into looking into why a symbol of Alseta was in a Hellknight facility. Do you want to hold onto it for a while or sell it?

Very sorry for the slow posting lately. I will be glad to turn the calendar page on February, as it's been a crazy month and not in a good way. I was in the ER twice in two weeks (neither time for me, and neither time was anyone seriously ill, but such a time sink -- and now I have to dread the bill coming in). I need to type up some information for Darla and for Jonagher; can you give me some general questions you might want to ask Calmont so I can hopefully get that wrapped up without too much back and forth and get you guys on the road?

Yes...as an elven artifact (or sorts)...Jonagher would like to hang onto it. He's also worried it might have an important part to play in whatever we continue to learn about the so-called Alseta's Ring that everyone's interested in.

Joana wrote:

No worries on my end. Earlier this month, I hit a wall while dealing with a kidney stone (my second significant bout with that problem). And then, ironically enough, two weeks later my oldest daughter (18) got one as well. We thought it might be appendicitis for her, and it required a trip to the ER to make sure. Luckily, it was just a kidney stone rather than a need for emergency surgery.

Yes. Jonagher wants to ask Calmont for more specifics about Voz herself. He wants a better idea of her demeanor (both public and private), how she conducted herself, whether or not he realized she had an access tunnel under the bookstore that led to the crypts under Citadel Altaerin and if he knew she was a necromancer? Additionally, he'll ask about Guardian's Way since the first time the party learned of Voz's interest in that location, it was from the materials they examined at the book shop. Is he aware of any bandits in that region or other accomplices Voz might be collaborating with? At the citadel when we first interrogated Calmont, he shared his notes that he'd copied from some of Voz's correspondence. It said something about the Scarlet Triad and someone named Laslunn. Does Calmont know anything about those potential names? Is he associated with either of them? Is Voz?

I think that Highness will likely sell the hand of the mage to get enough cash together for the handwraps of mighty blows.

Is that ok with everyone?

The handwraps are around 35g

I don't remember if Highness got offered a discount as a "friend of the heroes"

Alright I sold everything but three of the scrolls. 241.7 GP/2 = 120.85. 120.85 split 5 ways (+2 GP each from the coinage found) is 26 GP, 1 SP, 7 CP each.

There's a loot sold list at the bottom of Ragna's profile so we'll have some kind of record.

So 5% off, or 33 gp, 2 sp, 5 cp. Do you have enough? Can someone loan it to you? If Ragna succeeds at her Befriend a Local with the storekeeper, she could get it for you at 10% off instead of 5%. That would be Crink Twiddleton at Quarters and Bits.

Thanks for handling the loot-selling, Crisischild. Much appreciated.

As they head toward Quarters and Bits, near the town's western wall, Ragna informs Highness that Guardian's Way is located in a forest clearing at the foot of a hill. It consists of three platforms built in the trees, so the foliage provides cover for archers firing from a higher vantage point, a log cabin, and a cave dug into the hillside. It is relatively low-tech but easy to defend when occupied.

That sounds pretty cool.

I'm sorry, all. I entered this month determined to get things back on track here, and, well, you've seen what's happened. I try to grab an opportunity, start a post, get interrupted, and don't get back to it for days. I'm struggling with teenagers, a widowed mother whose health and memory are getting precarious, and the economy in general, which is demanding extra hours to keep up.

With deepest regrets, I'm going to have to let this game go. I'm sorry to let you all down; you've been great.

If you'd like a general summary of where the adventure was going (though you've discovered the main mysteries of the first book already), I'll be happy to give it to you, or if you'd prefer to try to find a new GM to pick things up, I'll keep my mouth shut fingers still. Again, sincere apologies.

Thanks for running the game as long as you did, Joana. I hope things improve for you ASAP (or at least level off and don't escalate).

I'd be OK with trying to find a new GM. I'm finally getting serious about trying to learn PF2, so I don't want to wholly abandon the only 2E campaign I've ever tried. If other folks are interesting in trying to continue, count me in as well.

Thanks for running the game, Joana! You're obviously passionate about TTRPG, even taking on two tables initially =) But things change over... let's see... 3.6 years?! How the time flies... I wish you the best going forward!

I, too, would like to continue our journey. Considering we have passed the extended opening dungeon crawl that also had a DMPC, that might even make it easier to find someone willing to pick the game up. What doth our shortest and elfest members of the party think?

The half-elf is still committed to seeing it through. And, likewise, his player fully appreciates Joana and the chance to experience a PF2 campaign. Thank you and best wishes to you, Joana! This might give us an opportunity to recruit not only a replacement GM, but another player maybe?

Yes, I do/did. It was/is Javell DeLeon, whom at least a few of you know from other games. I'll point him here if he is still interested in playing.

Anything I can do to make a smooth transition, I'm happy to do. I'll keep an eye out and will PM any new GM what they need to know.

You can tell prospective GMs you are at the beginning of chapter 4, the last chapter of the first book, Hellknight Hill, and about to head to Guardian's Way.

Hello, all! If you all are still interested in another player I'd be happy to join. I know Zeta and Profession Smith - what's up, you two? :) - but I've never run with Crisischild or Spicer. Although, I do know of you two. :)

But, if y'all are going to look for another GM and prefer to recruit another player, then all good to me. Whatever works for y'all.

Hey! How are you! I would be happy to have you join us in the challenging task of filling Joana's DM throne.

I can vouch for Javell if you haven't played with him before. Solid RP and tactics player, very good all around.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Man, I'm hanging in there. Still trucking along. And I appreciate the compliment! :)

Finding a DM, though, is definitely going to be a challenging task.

I guess you throw it up in the recruit thread? Unless any of y'all know someone. Far more difficult in finding a PF2 DM than a PF1. Especially one who writes as well as Joana.
