Hello, and welcome to the discussion tab for the campaign, my chosen. Mwa ha ha!

This tab is for ooc discussions, questions, comments, having fun, and where to let us know if you'll be absent or just dotting in while we wait on someone.

Here's a few guidelines for the campaign, though if you have any questions, let me know.

Campaign Tab
I'll try to constantly update the Campaign Tab, but there will be useful information for your characters there, such as a map of both Sandpoint and Varisia for reference, the date, and connections.

Rolls
There are some rolls I will make for you, generally ones that are automatic/group skill checks. Others that are individual, etc. will be rolled by you. You can of course roll for anything if you think it needs it, and I'll let you know if it applied.

Example: If you try to identify an item, make an attack, or try to search a crowd for someone, you'll make the die roll.
If you pass by a whole host of goblins in hiding, combat begins and intiative is needed, or a save is needed for most or all of the players, I'll make the checks and let the ones who passed know in a spoiler.

Loot
I'll keep a loot sheet in the folder. Anyone can change it if necessary.

Experience
We'll be leveling by story, rather than experience, so I'll let you know when to level.

Maps
I'll be keeping up with maps from the AP throughout it, posting links when doing so.

Posting
For posting, I usually do regular text for actions, italics for thoughts (not used as much as a GM), "Bold with quotation marks for speech," and finally, faded blue text for out-of-character stuff, which is not necessary for the discussion tab.

Spoilers
This AP has all kinds of hidden info that just makes the game world seem large and real. And I love to know small details IRL. As long as you're confident that you can keep ooc information from becoming in-character meta-gaming, I don't care if you look at spoilers even if they're not directed at you. If I want something really dramatic or important, I'll use PM to the required PC's.

Botting
I will bot characters if asked, such as a prolonged absence, ex cetera. Generally, I'll try to be a little leniant if a post is a little slow, but during combat, there is a solid 24hr window to get a post in. If you can't post your next move within 24hrs, I'll go ahead and bot your move that turn.

Timing
I work third shift (10-7) on Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5, I think), and while I have access to rules, I only have access to my phone. Posts will probably be shorter when using my phone, as it is not enjoyable to write long, code-filled posts with it. Otherwise, I should usually be able to access my computer around 7-8am each day regularly, not including access throughout the rest of the day. If I am only able to post one time in a day, it will probably be around that time.

Other
Other custom things I do that might interest/remind you of.

Spoiler:
Background Skills - 2 per level
Lore & Artistry - Both available.
Lore - If applicable to something (such as Lore(Goblin Warfare) to identify a goblin weapon), it takes half the necessary knowledge check, since it is such a focused funnel of knowledge. If you wonder if a certain thing is narrow enough for the lore skill, just ask.

Thanks for selecting me. I'm looking forward to being a part of your campaign!

Female Human (Varisian) Harrow Sorceress / 1

Zella checking in. I'm looking forward to playing with you all.

For posting, I usually check in every morning and then at random times throughout the day.

male tiefling slayer 1 (sniper) | HP 11/13 | AC 17, T 14, FF 13 | F +4, R +6, W +1 | CMB +3, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +5 | Init +6

Thanks for the invite! I'm really excited for this group.

@Zella: How would you feel about combining our backstories? I could have been staying with your caravan and now escorting you to the Festival.

@GM: Would you mind opening the gameplay thread for dotting?

F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

Haha, thanks so much for the invite! Super-excited to get started.

Female Human (Varisian) Harrow Sorceress / 1

@Osru - I'm fine with that. Zella would have been more comfortable traveling with an escort.

Alright, a short post up for you guys to dot in. Will put up the real big opener when I awake. I usually sleep on weekdays from 8ish-4ish, though I will try to post something everyone can react each day before I go to bed.

M male half elf ranger 1 (wild stalker) | HP 10/13 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14 | F +4, R +5, W +4 | CMB +4, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +10 | Init +3

Hey guys, Nero checking in here! Thanks so much for the opportunity GM Drake, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all (and your characters, too).

I'm thinking Blikx will appreciate all of Zella's tattoos. :)

Based on the description in your profile, almost certainly!

F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

I'm torn, cause on one hand, trying to find an employer would be appropriate, on the other hand, an arm-wrestling competition. Surely nobody can hope to compete with my +1 strength modifier :P

For now I would suggest enjoying the festival. Who wants to talk work during a holiday (Besides Blikx).

GM Drake:

I only rolled twice (assuming once for each "week" of work). Do I need to make more rolls?

Has Blikx managed to make any money with her tattoos? Has anything weird/intersting/noteworthy happen with any of her customers?

Blikx - Had to wait till I was home to get back to the work rules. I only carry the RotR campaign book on my phone for space. Post will be up in a moment.

Using crafts rules as a week of gold divided by two to find pay. Festival means each session earns a week's pay. Plus, you're adding to the plot, so there.

M male half elf ranger 1 (wild stalker) | HP 10/13 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14 | F +4, R +5, W +4 | CMB +4, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +10 | Init +3

Hey Drake, I'm not sure if you caught my post? I decided to try the archery competition again, I'll post my next move once I know how well I did

Ah~! I don't know how I missed that. Sorry. Got a post for you up now.

M male half elf ranger 1 (wild stalker) | HP 10/13 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14 | F +4, R +5, W +4 | CMB +4, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +10 | Init +3

Where is the closest place to the town square that Nero could go to eat? I'm not too fussed where he ends up, if you'd like the party to all end up at the same place I'm happy to send him anywhere

The White Deer would be closest. The Rusty Dragon is the most welcoming to adventurers. Both are also inns, where you can get a room as well.

F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

So I was taking a look at some things, and I noticed that only Nero is trained in Climb, nobody is trained in Swim, and nobody is trained in Heal. Hope we don't need to do any of those things before 2nd level ;)

Female Human (Varisian) Harrow Sorceress / 1

It's sad how few skill points clerics get. :(

Hmm. Now that I think about it, I usually end up playing high-skill characters. Most of mine get about 10 skills or more per level.

F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

Could be worse, could be a Fighter or a Paladin with 2+int. I had a Paladin who had 1 skill point per level, and this was before Background skills so that's all she had :/

Female Human (Varisian) Harrow Sorceress / 1

Clerics only get 2+ Int mod too. :(

It's like they hate the divine classes.

Female Catfolk Brawler 1 l AC 13 T 13 FF 10 l HP 13/13 l F +4 R +5 W +1 l Init +3 l Perc +0

Inquisitors have a decent number of skills.

I am playing an Inquisitor of Pharasma in another pbp, and it's been a lot of fun.

F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

Oh, I thought Clerics were 4+int, cause that's what Oracles have. That's weird, that they're different.

M male half elf ranger 1 (wild stalker) | HP 10/13 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14 | F +4, R +5, W +4 | CMB +4, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +10 | Init +3

Reading your post about none of us being trained in swim brought to mind the fact that a significant body of water could wipe the whole party. What a story that would be haha!

...

M male half elf ranger 1 (wild stalker) | HP 10/13 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14 | F +4, R +5, W +4 | CMB +4, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +10 | Init +3

Don't stress Drake, we'll buy some inflatable air bladders and wear them on our arms like little kids until we reach 2nd level ;)

Female Catfolk Brawler 1 l AC 13 T 13 FF 10 l HP 13/13 l F +4 R +5 W +1 l Init +3 l Perc +0

Note to self: learn spells that bolster swimming and allow water breathing .

F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

Well, Air Bubble and Touch of the sea give breathing underwater and swim speed of 30ft respectively, and are first level spells so it's only 25gp for a scroll. And Air Bubble is also on the Cleric spell list.

And whereas you can kinda get away with only one person being particularly good at climbing, they go up, hammer in a piton and drop a rope, which is only DC 10, it's a little harder to get away with only one person being able to swim...

Don't worry. Really, most of those checks are decided by your ingenuity and decisions, though they do make the day easier.

Now, what to do about that tsunami... :)

I put the place and time up above in the header for easy access. I'll try to keep it updated. Will keep current battle maps up there as well when we reach combat.

Alright, I think I forgot to mention all this, but here's how battles will roll:

Battles
I'll roll initiative and any necessary perception rolls for noticing targets (Perception will be done outside of combat in case no one notices).

The link to the battle map will be up in the header area. Notice: the map is a 1:4 scale model of the map I'm using. :( The file was 80 some mb otherwise, though. I'll update the map each turn, but post the square you'll be moving to as you take your move (i.e. Raniero is starting in square G14).

You can post your turn out of initiative order, but put them in a spoiler if you do. Also, make a if-then clause to clarify, such as 'if the goblin is still alive, then I'll attack it, otherwise I'll attack the goblin dog'.

I think that's all...maybe. :) Let's get to killing some monsters!

F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

Hey, Drake, I was wondering, do you enforce the encumbrance rules? I know it varies by GM, but that's why I ditched my camping gear, cause it puts me into medium load by a margin of two pounds :P

If it will be really obvious, such a huge pile of gold, probably, but for now, no.

My favorite weapons are the dogslicer (what the goblins are carrying) and the starknife. Don't really know why, either.

M male half elf ranger 1 (wild stalker) | HP 10/13 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14 | F +4, R +5, W +4 | CMB +4, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +10 | Init +3

Hey guys, just letting you know I'm driving cross country to my new posting so I'll be checking in on my phone for the next few days. Apologies in advance if my posts seem short and lacking in detail, I'll have my PC set up again by the end of the week

Got it. Thanks for letting us know.

M male half elf ranger 1 (wild stalker) | HP 10/13 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14 | F +4, R +5, W +4 | CMB +4, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +10 | Init +3

Haha, the old tomato to the face! Touche goblins, touche

1 person marked this as a favorite.
F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

I don't think that goblin is laughing much anymore, oh my god.

Female Catfolk Brawler 1 l AC 13 T 13 FF 10 l HP 13/13 l F +4 R +5 W +1 l Init +3 l Perc +0

Pink (or perhaps green) mist!

Female Catfolk Brawler 1 l AC 13 T 13 FF 10 l HP 13/13 l F +4 R +5 W +1 l Init +3 l Perc +0

I know that strictly speaking, a ray of frost doesn't state that it can extinguish fires in the spell description, but I thought that anything that is made up of cold and water should logically be able to douse ordinary flames.

It seemed like something Blikx, as a local all-too-familiar with the damage fire can do to a town, would do in this situation.

M male half elf ranger 1 (wild stalker) | HP 10/13 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14 | F +4, R +5, W +4 | CMB +4, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +10 | Init +3

Yeah I know, finally a decent hit! I would argue that a sustained ray of frost would be able to extinguish a decent fire, it can't be that far off the effects of a modern day fire extinguisher. Seems logical to me

Posting soon. Was waiting till I got home to ready the map real quick.

Alright, added the initiative order to the header as well. Map updated to turn 2.

male tiefling slayer 1 (sniper) | HP 11/13 | AC 17, T 14, FF 13 | F +4, R +6, W +1 | CMB +3, CMD 17 | Spd 30' | Perc +5 | Init +6

I know this is premature but I'm just updating my records today and I don't recall if there was any discussion about it.

Will we be receiving PFS credit for this via campaign mode? If not, that's cool, but I would be thrilled if so. :D

No. I don't do anything PFS. Never really understood the concept.

F Half-Elf URogue 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18, T 14, FF 14 | F +1, R +6, W +1 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Spd 30ft | Init +4 | Per +10

Also I don't think these characters are exactly PFS legal, 3 traits, 25pt buy, max gold, I'm sure there's other stuff but I haven't played hardly any PFS...
