Zagathoth draws doomcresent as he rushes toward the demon-like foe (the asura). He calls to mind a lesson on swinging accurately even with great force and brings the heavy blade down in an attempt to hack into the creature.

Zagathoth looks around at the strange land, and then at his strange companions. Turning to Bear he asks, "Wer ist ohne den Padre zuständig?"

Furrowing his prominent, orcish brow he adds, "Ich bin jetzt ein Prinz. Macht mich das?"

German:
"Who is in charge now that the Padre is gone?"

"I am an emir now, does that make me in charge?"

Zagathoth continues to eye the gray man and the fairy suspiciously. He follows them through the pyramid and into the workshop unsure what he should do...

”Are we allowed to let it go?” Zagathoth asks as the gray-man is freed. ”I do not think that the Padre would like this...”

In between times providing the witch with 'company' Zagathoth wanders the pyramid making frequent use the gym and sauna. When he happens upon the two fey with the locked cell doors open, he scowls and rushes to them.

"What are you doing?" he barks as he arrives just after the first cell is closed. Looking at the gray prisoner he asks, "What is that?"

you can't 20 on opposed stealth checks... and you don't have hide in plain sight so you can't stand in the library checking out glowing crystals 'in stealth' (because you'd need cover and/or concealment to even attempt the check).

Zagathoth wraps one thick, muscley arm around the witch’s waist and leaps to his feet (hoisting her into the air in the process). Without ceasing from the activity that seems to have surprised Bear, he spins to face his friend and exclaims, ”The Padre leaved?!? Where did he go?”

HP 117/117 | AC 24* (t17/ff24*) | CMD 31 | Fort +9, Ref +9, Will +8 | Perception +13 (darkvision 60'); Sense Motive +1; Initiative +2 | active effects: --

Zagathoth grins a big toothy smile and drops his sheet as he rushes into the witch's chamber. He spends the next couple hours demonstrating everything he has learned about making sex from his woman in Rome and the harem in Marrakesh.

I don't know why it seems so amusing to me but for some reason I love the fact that despite having a lot of trouble learning information (due to his low Int) Zag is actually really easy to train physically (that seems to be the idea behind martial flexibilty)... so even though he probably couldn't name a single part of the female anatomy he has the muscle-memory to know what to do, lol.

Zagathoth emerges from his cabin partially covered in a white silk sheet. The promise of epic combat with which his dream ended had done nothing to diminish the growing desire most of the dream had aroused.

The orc heads hastily to the witch's chamber and begins to pound on the door. "Dark woman," he calls out, "do you want to make sex? I have not made sex since our boat sunk and I need to..."

if the answer is no:
"I do not know the metal womans' tongue," he answers, "can you ask them if any of them want to make sex with me?"

I’m not sure its a great idea for me to be in secret society... let me rephrase that: I’m not sure it’s a good idea for me to know that I’m in a secret society, lol. I’ll be a great asset to the society as long as I don’t know anything about it to accidentally reveal!

Always obey priests, it’s one of the rules.

Also, I think it makes sense for anyone who’s Int is like 24 or higher (which is probably smarter than any living human) to have some sense of the potential dangers but I agree that most of us probably shouldn’t at all.

HP 117/117 | AC 24* (t17/ff24*) | CMD 31 | Fort +9, Ref +9, Will +8 | Perception +13 (darkvision 60'); Sense Motive +1; Initiative +2 | active effects: --

Zagathoth nods like he understands what the man in the chair is saying. It seems fairly clear, however, that he doesn’t.

Giving up on the conversation, the orc wanders to the nearest door to see what’s beyond it.

Zagathoth’s head swims while he tries to grasp what everyone else is talking about. ”We can go to other times?” he finally asks, ”Can we go to last week, when we killed the dragon and freed the city? I made more sex that day than any other day.”

HP 117/117 | AC 24* (t17/ff24*) | CMD 31 | Fort +9, Ref +9, Will +8 | Perception +13 (darkvision 60'); Sense Motive +1; Initiative +2 | active effects: --

Zagathoth howls in rage as his blood clouds the water. He shifts into his dragon stance as he finishes growing to his new size and unleashes a flurry of angry blows on his attacker.

rage, martial flexibility, flurry of blows
attack 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18, for: 2d8 + 24 ⇒ (4, 2) + 24 = 30
attack 2: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16, for: 2d8 + 24 ⇒ (7, 8) + 24 = 39
attack 3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9, for: 2d8 + 24 ⇒ (6, 2) + 24 = 32
attack 4: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25, for: 2d8 + 24 ⇒ (4, 2) + 24 = 30

edit: man, these low attack rolls are killing me... would crabpincer still give me waterbreathing and freedom of movement if I hold it in my teeth? Doomcresent would never give me so many single digit rolls...

I have a guy I've played versions of in 2 different campaigns (Culder "the Cap'n" Hargraves) who's a big, brutish sailor/pirate that fights with a giant ship's anchor! In his PbP incarnation, his anchor got stolen from him and he had to resort to wrecking things with a nice sturdy oar. I love that guy, lol.

Not wanting to waste time fighting the pirates, Zagathoth steps back into his dragon stance and unloads a barrage of attacks at the Hobgoblin (and anything else he can reach).

Zagathoth claims the dagger, as instructed, and settles into a fighting stance dragon style. Drawing back a fist to strike the first thing to try attacking him, he calls out, ”glurgug, glubrub glug!”

shark:
”Tooth-fishes, fight your masters and we will free you!”

”I was raised with the fighting beasts at a arena near where the knight lived. I think he called it Oviedo,” Zagathoth answers with a shrug.

”You can teach what tongue you want; I don’t know what I will do with it. I can talk and hear this tongue and the knight’s... my woman’s at the Padre’s house... Bear’s when he is a man, and when he is a bear, and when he is a snake... the Pope’s, and the birds’ that live with the Pope... the big cat I seed earlier at the arena, and most of the people's who live here... the horned man’s who leaved... the man who saw ghost’s- he leaved before... and the devil that we fighted’s.”

The orc's massive chest and shoulders make him seem shorter than his actual six and a half foot height. His arms are the size of a normal man's legs and end with hard, meaty hands. He wears a newly tailored set of lightweight, puffy purple pants with a matching tunic. A long, heavy sword hangs on his back and upon his head sits a fancy silk turban decorated with several big gems.

"You can call me Zagathoth," he offers with a big toothy grin as he offers the prince his hand.

Zagathoth gives his most recent conquest an appreciative smack on her well-muscled backside. "It is good to be the Emir," he reflects with a broad, toothy grin.

When the orc tracks down Ihrin in the early morning hours he is once again clad in a bedsheet kilt. His muscly body glistens with sweat and it looks like he has a fat lip and several bite marks on his shoulder and chest. He carries a huge mug of mead in his left hand and hunk of spiced meat, wrapped in flatbread, in his right. "I have comed to read!" he announces with a chuckle, "what tongue will you teach me in?"

with Ihrin...
"I never readed anything," the orc answers with a shrug, "but it is not my mind that needs to exercise right now."

Dropping his bedsheet-kilt to 'unsheathe his greatsword' the hulking Emir adds, "I lived through it all so far," as he returns to his celebrating.

Upon learning that harem girls were, or could be, slaves Zagathoth immediately returns to their balcony. Standing in the doorway, wearing only a bed sheet for a kilt and still holding a half eaten lamb shank, he announces, ”I do not keep slaves. If you want to live here and make sex with me when I’m here you can and we will take care of you. If you do not want to live here and make sex with with me when I’m here then you are free to leave. You can take your clothes with you and food for your trip.”

After spending some more time with those who wish to stay, the orc takes a break to tour the arena with his companions. He smiles his wide toothy grin at the sturdy orcish gladiatrix’s offer. ”You can try,” he answers with a smirk, ”when we are done here. For now walk with us.”

She can be in charge of making sure the other women are safe and taken care of while we’re gone, lol.

My suggestion was really to try to do all 3 of those... we 'submit' to Rome to gain papal support (trusting that between our favors for the pontiff and location at the very edge of the empire there will be virtually no interference) and pay tribute to Henry as a self-governing vassal (so he'd lend military support to safeguard our rule and we'd pay him a good chunk of the wealth that we'd otherwise be banking which, as adventuring PCs, we don't really need anyways, lol, and probably allow him 'dibs' on a lot of the import/export business).

Between those 2 measures, if they work, we'd be free to govern independently (through Rodrigo, probably) but we'd have enough backing to hopefully keep the emirate stable?

I definitely agree about the Jackals offering more feedback too though!

I should be fully leveled now. A couple questions though...

1) do I get some kind of crown or something? It seems like the former Emir wore a turban with that huge gem that apparently we need to give to someone/something- should I just wear that with one of the other jewels we found slapped on it?

2) how do people feel about me being large sized pretty much all of the time?

3) how long is Quinlan going to be physically with us, and could he make me an enlarge person item real quick before we lose him? For a continuous enlarge person, or (even better) one I can spend an action to turn on or off, it should cost him 2k to make and the DC should be low enough for him to quick craft it in one day...

HP 117/117 | AC 24* (t17/ff24*) | CMD 31 | Fort +9, Ref +9, Will +8 | Perception +13 (darkvision 60'); Sense Motive +1; Initiative +2 | active effects: --

”We should free the slaves,” the orcish Emir agrees during his brief time at dinner.

Zagathoth is (obviously) more interested in the perks of being Emir than in being in charge of anything... a regeant with strong ties to Rome (and, presumably, some familial loyalty) seems like a good idea. If we’re going to try for an emirate with religious freedoms, creating some kind of council with representatives from the Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and Berber (indigenous) populations could help keep the peace (and dissuade minority groups from allying with would-be usurpers). Also, Prince Henry definitely has some motivation for wanting this region, most likely financial... rather than risking war (or a campaign of sedition) we could make a treaty with him to pay tribute as a vassal state in exchange for autonomy and military support?

And before we got teleported here (but still today) I spent enough time ‘celebrating’ with my woman in Rome that I had to get our healer friend to use lesser restoration for her so we could continue, lol. Although, in fairness, I am all jacked up on dragonblood right now, so this has been a bit extreme even for me.

I’m keeping the tradition alive...

Zagathoth spends the rest of the afternoon making sex with as many of the harem girls as are interested. When dinner time arrives he pauses long enough to eat an inhuman amount before moving on to another round of making sex with whichever girls have the stamina to go again.

lol- so, my main motivation for going on about wanting to make sex was to RP Zag’s appetites being dialed up by the dragon’s heart (which I think I’ve done), and my secondary motive was to spread enough seed today to allow for enough characters for the follow up campaign (check)... I just realized something though... in many times/places killing a ruler made you the new ruler, and in a lot of ancient cultures sleeping with a ruler’s wives was a means of claiming the throne... so, I didn’t kill the emir alone but technically I did kill him (landed the killing blow), and I just slept with several of his wives... I’m pretty sure that (accidentally) makes me the new Emir...

for: 2d4 + 19 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + 19 + 2 + 2 = 26
confirm?: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 14 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 40
for another: 2d4 + 19 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 19 + 2 + 2 = 31

hahaha- back to back 40s to hit (for over 50 damage in one swing), I have a feeling Zag’s going to be really into hunting dragons from now on...
