Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Lol, nice one Lantressa! And don't worry, we'll be fine >:-)
Yrsa trails behind the rest of the group, staying close behind Trey. This place sure could use some of Serenrae's light. She says unhappily under her helmet. Think the emperor is gonna give us Salvatore Scream? There's a laugh. We might even find Vencarlo here. To be completely honest, I don't think I'm going to lose much sleep over what I'm going to do to these brigands when they refuse to come quietly. Blehh. Yrsa picks out one of the cat callers and points at him. She draws her finger under her throat and farts.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Aha! I love it when roads wind up turning together. Yes, lets waltz right into the emperor's palace. And away from the curious creature.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Salvatore Scream? He sounds familiar for some reason.. Yrsa ponders for a moment. The harrow card! Typhon, earlier when we all receive visions, mine was of a paintbrush. I'm sure it has to be connected to Salvatore. Let's head there first. Hopefully talking to the artist and finding Orsini won't take long, we'll have plenty of time to assault the emperor's little fort.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa heads downstairs with the others after grabbing the assassins weapons from the floor.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa trundles up the stairs, howling, her falchion high over her shoulder. She brings it down swiftly as she approaches the assassin at the top of the landing.

Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
No worries. I had figured Yrsa was with Trey on the first floor, and Ty and Cephalo had gone up. I'll try to be more specific about Yrsa's outside-combat actions.
Yrsa nods to Trey. Let's head up with the others, they might not have heard the sound.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Upon entering the house after Ty and Cephalo give the general signal, Yrsa steps into the home, calmly alert. She begins to search the lower level to see of she can turn up anything the others might have missed. After a while, she waits at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for everyone. Ready when you are. Want to try and bite a blade again Cephalo? She gently chides Cephalo for his bravado, but by the sound of her voice under her helm it's clearly in good fun.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Happy Holidays everyone!
Fight the good fight Trey, we'll be cheering for you. Sending good vibes.

Git Sum: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 aoo
Krit Thret: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
damage: 4d4 + 30 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 2) + 30 = 40
Yrsa stands statuesque as the fireball explodes, almost immobile as the thug #3 runs past her. In a single, soundless slice she cuts the man in half, blood spattering her armor, and turns to the next two.
Slice!: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
damage: 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (3, 4) + 11 = 18
Thug #4 is next in line. He can't even see the dwarf's eyes.
Supa Slice!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
damage: 2d4 + 15 ⇒ (3, 1) + 15 = 19
Thug #5 is the victim of a sudden downward chop. Yrsa flicks the viscera from her blade. It all happened so fast. She drops into her knees and holds her falchion in another ready position.
Grr..
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa cracks her knuckles under the plate gauntlets and shakes her head from side to side. She draws her falchion. Finally, I've been looking forward to this all morning.
Yrsa has a problem with thugs like these. In these violent times and at this violent place, she seems to have let go of some restraint. Lethal force might be about to get used..
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa chose the room with black sheets. After a few hours' rest, she joins back in with the others, trying to keep a low profile and not cause controversy with their hosts. She finds a spot near Cephalo, enjoying some breakfast as well.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
It saddens me to have learned of your lost friends. We here and two more will do everything we can to see them to safety. Even if we have to provide a fully rounded history lesson to this Swastel ourselves. He will be held accountable. I'm certain out errands will run us afoul of him, regardless, Yrsa hesitates a moment, before adding and if Devargo ever crosses that line, know that I and my companions and Longacre too are here if you need.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
The Streets of Old Korvosa
Yrsa calls out after Trey as she disappears into the darkness, but too late.
At least Typhon has gone with her. He'll be able to find us.
Serenrae's light apparently needs some spreading. Maybe some good will come of this, no stopping her anyway. Typhon will keep Trey safe. Let's head on to the Eel's End.
Eel's End and the Silken Cloud
Yrsa sheathes her sword, and steps into the light to be seen clearly while Lantressa talks to the doormen.
Emperor? Figured it would be pretty bad over here...
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
I'll watch our backs. May our gods be with us, I have a feeling it's going to get rough. Yrsa buckles a full plate helmet under her chin. She draws her falchion with a slight flourish, it's sharp edge whistling through the night air, and holds it at parade rest against her shoulder.
Lead on, Miss Lantressa. Let's go find your friends.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Oh, I suppose you're right, Typhon. I had forgotten about stealth for a moment. She blows out the candle.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa gives Denis a respectful salute as she walks behind Cephalo. Pulling her wool collar upright, she creaks down the dock and into the beam of the long canoe, sinking it into the water visibly.
All aboard She says calmly, and lights a small candle and sets it on the prow.

Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa returns to the room with a hissing kettle. She pours herself a glass of dwarvish coffee, and sets the pot on the table where four other small cups are illuminated by the candles. She sits upright in her chair. Her stony demeanor furrows, and you can tell she is carefully picking words.
Korvosa is important to all of us. We all have people we care about here. More lately for some of us, we have shed blood together. She raises her glass to Trey and Typhon. Each of you have good reasons for going to Old Korvosa. I have no doubts about your capabilities. I swear I will help find your lost friends, Ms. Lantressa. Cephalo, I swear I will help you find your ward's compatriot. This is an Oath I make. She takes a sip of her coffee. WE are going to Old Korvosa to find the Seneshal. He is a government official who is being held captive, and tortured. We hope to use his influence to stop this madness the Queen's crown has unleashed. I will fight beside you, and try to cease any injustice that is happening in the Old Town, if you will bleed beside me, and my friends, while we commit this.. she searches for an appropriate word. Escapade; this bloody secret mission like they all are these days of espionage and court killings. We must cherish those we are close to. Skol. Yrsa raises her mug in salute and drains her cup.
Now, for the crossing, I think it's best we take a boat, there are plenty around, and I doubt any guard patrolling the river is going to be too observant, otherwise I have few qualms sending a few Grey Maidens sinking to the sediment. I'll row. I have no other means of transport.
She laughs heartily.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Sitting on the edge of the booth is the dwarf. She is tall and lithe for her kind, reaching nearly five feet. Her face is stern, but she wears the early wrinkles of someone who knows mirth. A long curved sword sits on the floor next to her, its handle propped up against he wall, still in easy reach. Sipping a clear liquid from a small glass, her grey eyes have been coolly watching the patrons of the Peacock, and she hasn't said a word since everyone arrived, only having given a sharp nod to Sister Trey.
You weren't lying about being able to find some 'mercenary detectives' fast, Typhon. Yrsa says smirking at him. Her glance subtley sweeps over Lantressa and Cephalo in an instant.
Yrsa nods to Typhon. My friends keep a nice, erm.. office.. with a lovely view of the river, even. I agree it'd be best to talk over our details there.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
oh ok got it. Sending you good vibes DM, best wishes.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa watches the divination stoically, gritting her teeth.
I'm at a bit of a loss myself. The Red Mantis? I espect the court records will show me about as much as I know of them, nothing. Yrsa sighs heavily, showing some stress from the visions. If Mr. Vencarlo has any idea where the Seneschal is, you know im right behind you, Typhon, she growls, gripping the belt that holds her sword tightly. I had a vision of a brush, a paintbrush it looked like. Didnt you find one in the Seneschal's things? Or a painting somewhere?
Im a little lost, with the introduction of our new heroes and such. Unless it's inconvenient, Yrsa will be with either Trey or Typhon, till we're a bit more on track.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Heya everyone ^_^. Good to have you along.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Fair enough terms. I think you're right Typhon. That way we'd also know if he's healthy. Hopefully so, a living man will be easier to find than a corpse.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yeah... Last we saw him, he was heading back to Ustalav. What about him?
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Likewise, I'd like to continue. I know I've been sparse in posting, but I really love this campaign and the characters everyone is playing.
I'll be trying to keep a special note and post more often. Ty, I'll try to support you in a leadership role, and share the thought with Yrsa. However it works out ^_^.
Also, happy holidays everyone!
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa arrives at the fishery early in the morning, two hours after sunrise. She bears a pot of fresh made coffee, as she has before. hopefully before Typhon departs... . She greets everyone with good news. I have spoken with Arbiter Zenobia, and have been given special dispatch to assist you as I. and we, see fit. I've been most proud to serve with you all. She says curtly, easily seen at unease speaking freely. Bosch told me about your lead with the seneschal, Typhon. I'd love to help you follow up that investigation. I've never been a detective, but I like to think I've shown I can handle myself.. She is in a sharp professional Korvosan dress suit, absent her usual armor. But you see she has the same large scimitar tied efficiently at her waist, its silver inlays concealing it in place. Sister Trey, she blushes, warmly, or, Trey, I'd love if you could come along and show us your insight as well.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
As Trey turns Yrsa stands with the rest of the crowd to give applause. After what they had been through the past weeks, it was good to see everyone not covered in soot and blood.
Well, blood at least.
Some pretty spectacular things had been accomplished, she reminded herself before her mind started to drift to their still more recent worries. Seeing Typhon duck bashfully, Yrsa lets out a howl of her own for Trey, beaming from ear to ear. Let the Archbishop scorn if he will. Today is a happy day.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Whoo. Havent forgotten about you guys I swear, lol. Sorry to be silent so long.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Good morning, Senior Arbiter. Yrsa greets Zenobia respectfully. Yes, my assignment has taken me to some very interesting places, she says, sharing a conspiratorial glance with Tessa as she remembers the aquatic venture to the wreck of the Direption, It's rather sensitive information.. Yrsa closes the door, and informs Zenobia of the events that have transpired since her first dispatch. The investigation of the blood veil, the infiltration of the hospice, and the implications against the Queen within. Field Marshal Kroft has been briefed on the group's discoveries as well. [/b] Yrsa adds this last piece of information after a moment's hesitation.
Zenobia, I request special service to accompany these irregular guardsmen. I know this is somewhat outside the law, but if the evidences are true, then the integrity of Longacre will suffer far more greatly.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Korvosa is such a big city.. There must be so many of them. They can't all be involved. Some of them must be genuinely trying to fight the blood veil.. Yrsa whispers as they walk behind.

Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa arrives at what passes for the address of the "headquarters" of her new unit just after the sun rises. Absent her imposing armor she is dressed sharply in a Korvosan suit, the same battle braid running down her back, and bare of weapons holds a black briefcase in one hand, and a cast iron pot with a sprocket in the other. She politely enters, and sits at the breakfast table as Tessa scarfs down her meal. The pot contains a devilishly strong dwarven coffee, the scalding hot temperature as invigorating a stimulant as the caffeine.
Indeed! she heartily agrees. I haven't been through anything quite like that before.. My auxiliary days saw petty violence and bloodshed, but this.. This is something I never expected. She continues, Undoubtedly there are elements that know the full detail of what has transpired. It is likely that the Queen will learn soon. I am duty bound to report back to the Arbiters. I'm nervous, but I trust them. Would you accompany me? I'm sure there are guards folk to eavesdrop upon along the way.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa helps Ty with the refuse, and upon entering the citadel removes her helm and tucks it under her arm. Her braid is a frazzled mess, and her stony face shows the fatigue they all feel. Typhon said it right, commander. We've been through a very dark journey and discovered only the worst truths. I've composed a written report. I was going to give it to my superiors, but perhaps it's best it doesn't leave this room...
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Grumf Yrsa shudders. Thankfully that's now out of my jurisdiction, he seemed already out of our league, without Trey or Tessa's help. His research could actually be helpful, though. Strange motives, that creature.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
I figured it would be bad down here, but I didn't expect a crazed worshipped of disease. Call me naive.. Let's head over to the last room and make sure we didn't miss anything.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
For once I'm glad this helmet isn't too well ventilated.. Yras quips. Time to shake you like a bad cold!

Yrsa is back from her vacation.... Errr legal recettification! Yes, Korvosa has very strict licensure for that kind of thing. Sorry everyone!
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Yrsa squares herself up with the cultist in front of her. With a swift swing she slices the robes as he darts aside, then brings the blade over her shoulder for a swift death.

My post apparently got eaten... On my phone, I'll post tonight!

Yrsa roars a battle cry and swings violently at the fiend in front of her.
powa attack!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Her blade sounds a vicious slice as it cuts nothing but air.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
We better go find him and the others, then. And take care of whoever else wants to try and stop us. Yrsa growls under her helm.
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
We're going to get you out of here safely. Wait here in the meantime, we've got to try and find anything else we can down here. Do you know anything else about what they're doing?
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Faster, for certain. Trey can only do so much under these circumstances. Yrsa adjusts the chinstrap of her helmet. And I'm with you, Typhon. We're skirting the line of legality as it is, I don't want to start thinking that we're the only chance at real justice these guznats* have.
Yrsa is cursing in dwarven..
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |

Grimacing, Yrsa takes a step alongside Typhon. She cuts upwards to Rolth's hip, but the dodgy necromancer evades.

Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
With her companions' fury combined with her own outrage at what they have found, Yrsa files into their battle line. I hope you are as comfortable with the absence of mercy as you claim to be. Her voice is shallow and even, it sounds almost like a prayer. Her hands tremble on the hilt of her sword. How can Korvosa be in such turmoil and expect to survive?
Female Dwarf Fighter 7 [HP 63/63 |
Hrm! She growls. Maybe after we've investigated what else they've been doing here. I don't think they'd have anything polite to say anyway.
