Bosch Glasthane
"We're not out of the woods yet, Master Hanch, are you in a state to move at all?" Bosch says, going to the side of the old man and kneeling at his side.
DM medlii
"I think so," Olen Hanch says, unsteadily getting to his feet. You notice that while he seems to be feeling better, he still has the red rash indicative of blood veil. "I dunno if you are out of the woods either. Rolth and the Doctor take - took - orders from two others. Dunno if you, er, found them yet. A beautiful lady, who was always talking about how our deaths would be such a wonderful gift. I think she's some sort of priestess or something. And this really weird guy. He looked kind of like an elf, pointy ears and all that, but kind of like a rat. He was always yelling at those two like they had no idea what they were doing, kept calling them amateurs."
The teenaged boy in the Sable Company uniform interjects. "Excuse me, mister? There are other people locked up in the next room. I think Rolth, um, was going to experiment on them after... after he was-" he hesitates for a moment, as if he didn't like what he was about to say "done with us."
Typhon B'Ru
" These two are testing me Bossman. Makin' it harder and harder to get them to the law alive."Ty says through gritted teeth. Gripping and squeezing his knives in his hands he moves toward the next room.
" We should probably hurry, not sure how much longer we have,"
Might be a priestess, or a Gray Maiden. Or the Queen herself giving these orders for that matter. Pointy dude sounds like a 'Rat' tho....
Trey Merosa
Trey goes to check over those that are conscious first. looking for signs of infection. already knowing that Hanch is infected Trey checks the others.

whoever is in the worse shape will get her vial of Antiplauge.
Yrsa Fallston
Faster, for certain. Trey can only do so much under these circumstances. Yrsa adjusts the chinstrap of her helmet. And I'm with you, Typhon. We're skirting the line of legality as it is, I don't want to start thinking that we're the only chance at real justice these guznats* have.
Yrsa is cursing in dwarven..
DM medlii
Trey sees that all six of Rolth's "patients" are infected. The teen, whose name you learn is Dalvun, and is a stable boy with the Sable Company seems to be the worst off. After downing the antiplague, his coughing stops and his face begins to clear.
"Absolutely! They practically killed me and Dalvun here, and who knows how many others. I think these deranged doctors even created the disease here. How is Korvosa? They've killed lots of innocent people in the city for no reason too!" Mr. Hanch says emphatically. The exertion sends him into a fit of coughing. After it subsides, he adds "Anything a simple cobbler can do to bring them to justice, just ask."
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Yrsa Fallston
We're going to get you out of here safely. Wait here in the meantime, we've got to try and find anything else we can down here. Do you know anything else about what they're doing?
DM medlii
"They're doing some sort of experiments on us. Trying to 'improve' the blood veil. For some reason, they are really interested in Varisians. Lots of them with the dark hair and dark eyes down here for the experiments." Hanch explains, his tone turning sour at the thought of making a disease more virulent and horrifying. "They've got some labs and I guess they do all sorts of experiments with diseases."
Hanch and Dalvun thank Tessa for her kindness.
Bosch Glasthane
"Alright, we don't know what else is down here. You lot better stay put for now while we finish our sweep," Bosch says, taking up his sword again. "Let's check the next room and get all the civilians together before we move on."
Trey Merosa
trey was busy applying proper bandages, and providing proper care for these poor souls. once the decision is made she is more than ready to deal with it.
Trey's silent prayer how can people do such things, why bring such suffering, such pain, is this what you wish me see Lady Sarenrae, to make me that much stronger in my faith?
DM medlii
"Yes, sir" Dalvun says, saluting Bosch.
"Good idea," Hanch agrees.
Trey and Tessa's ministrations, kind words, and comfort are well-received by the patients who have been experimented upon for who knows how long.
In the next room, you find eight strong iron doors with slotted windows, much like one you might find in a prison or asylum. Faint bloodstains fleck the straw-strewn flagstones. All of the doors are locked with sturdy locks.
DC 30 open lock check or DC 28 strength check to break down a door
DM medlii
Typhon peers through the small, barred windows of each cell and several voices answer Bosch's shouts. Five of the eight cells hold captive men and women. Remarkably, they look to be in good health, though awfully dirty and unwashed.
"Help! Let us out!" one shouts.
"Please, before the doctors take us away!" another pleads.
Bosch Glasthane
"We can try to muscle them open but that will take too much time, we need some ideas. The keys are probably with that other pair that are down here. If we hit them, we've got a good chance of finding it," Bosch said to the others.
Trey Merosa
trey is looking over the wounded in the "operating room" when she hears the pleas from the other room. a prison?
have we looked over all of these ones here? they must have a key, how else would they be able to move them about. Trey asks indicating the physicians and the other vile excuses for doctors.
DM medlii
Whoops, good point Trey. For some reason, Paizo put that in a completely different section of the adventure.
Searching through the unconscious Physicians' possessions, Trey finds a ring of eight silver keys that look similar to the large silver padlocks on the prison doors.
Bosch Glasthane
"And.. your goddess smiles on simple answers," Bosch says with a grin, "Let's get these guys in the room with the others. We need them in one place until we can account for all the hostiles."
Trey Merosa
Trey looks to Bosh, You go ahead and scout, look for more of the enemy. I'll get these people situated and catch up, alright? every moment we waste here is a moment they have to escape.
Trey will take the keys and head in to start unlocking the doors.
DM medlii
Trey unlocks the cells to find five very grateful Varisian men and women.
A middle-aged lady with deep brown eyes and large lips introduces herself as Irini, and speaks for the group. "Thank you for rescuing us. Those horrible doctors have been taking us out of these cells, one by one over the last week."
Despite being somewhat hungry, thirsty, and filthy, the prisoners otherwise seem well. Not a single one shows any symptom of blood veil, even to Trey's well-trained eyes. She does not hear a single cough or note any red rashes on the people rescued from the cells.
They begin to pepper her with questions upon their release. "Where are the doctors? Can we go home now? What is this terrible place? What's going on?"

trey tries to calm the former prisoners.
Please, i will try and see to your needs as I can. but for now I would like to escort you all out of here.
Trey will start to try and organize the survivors so they can proceed out of this prison.
Bosch, I need to tend to these people. Tessa is a healer, she will help keep you going until I can catch back up.
Turning back to Irini, I am Trey Merosa, initiate of Sarenrae. Do you have the trust of these people?
diplomacy: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Bosch Glasthane
"Take care of them for now but keep them in these rooms until we come back. There are still dangers about. Do any of you go by the name Ruaan?" Bosch asked the assembled prisoners.
DM medlii
"We are deeply in your debt, so we shall do as you wish, Lady Trey," Irini says. She glances around at the other prisoners. They nod in agreement. "We won't cause trouble." "We'd just like to go home." "We'll do whatever you say, Miss." the other Varisians say.
"Ruaan?" An old Varisian man steps forward. "Yep, he was just here yesterday. That doctor, the pale one with the pointed teeth, took him away. He pauses for a moment. "If... if his experiments are like the Dr. Rolth and Dr. Davaulus do, Ruaan might still be alive." He shudders at the thought.
DM medlii
Bosch recalls that there were three unopened doors he had not explored. The first door north of the elevator had voices coming from behind it, as did the other door to the north. The stinging scent of harsh chemicals emanated from the door to the east.
Tessa Alee
Tessa hurries after her taller friends, her small legs working hard to keep up. From her stony silence and the set of her jaw, it seems she's serious about delivering a beatdown to anybody connected to this vile place.
DM medlii
Behind the door, you find cabinets and low benches fill this chamber. From pegs on the opposite side of the room, the empty black eyes of several beaked plague masks glare with soulless, unblinking stares. Another rack on the west wall hang many sets of doctor's robes with matching high, black leather boots lined up below them. Although you had heard voices in this room earlier, it seems that now it is unoccupied.
Typhon B'Ru
Ty will move into the room, heading for the door on the other side. Just before getting there, he slows and listens for what may be beyond. Some semblance of caution seems to have returned.
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
He also seems to have disappeared. When I placed my icon in front of the door it went away.
Trey Merosa
Trey spends some time doing her best to clean up the Operating room, removing the implements that caused so much pain. attempting to make the beds more comfortable.
she enlists the help of anyone that is well enough to help.
Until we are sure the rest of this place is safe, I need for all of you to wait here.
she gathers any weapons she can from the remains of the doctor or the party, here are some weapons to defend your selves. I need to be with the other rescuers, in case we find more survivors I will bring them here.
she turns to Irini, I will place you in charge Irini. trey takes out an older wooden holy symbol that she had when she was younger and gives it to Irini.
Take this, I make you my special, Honorary Deacon of Sarenrae. may the blessings of Sarenrae protect you until I return
Trey give on last check over to be sure no blood viel is present and that the group is comfortable.
heal: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
she then hurries to catch up with the others
DM medlii
Typhon hears the murmur of voices from behind the door - some male and some female.
Despite nearly everyone else in the compound having blood veil, Trey is certain that not a single one of the Varisians are infected. The Varisians and the other patients thank her for her care as she tends to their wounds and cleans up the room. When handed the remaining clubs and daggers from the Queen's Physicians, some look unsure of themselves, but others grip them as if they've used such weapons before. There is a bit of murmuring of revenge, but upon hearing Trey's authoritative commands, the group agrees "We'll stay here."
Irini looks taken aback, but then smiles. "Thank you." She turns to the small crowd prisoners who have been freed and holds up the sun-shaped holy symbol. "We must do as Sister Trey has commanded and wait patiently. Those of you with strength, and good hearing, stand by the doors to keep watch, just in case. We will make sure the doctors stay asleep here." With that, two thuggish Varisians stand by the door, another two watch over Dr. Davaulus, Rolth, and the Queen's Physicians, while the remainder continue Trey's efforts to tidy the room.
Ty - Not sure what is up with the icons, but sometimes they get moved to the back - your portrait was just underneath the room.
Bosch Glasthane
"Let's hit 'em hard," Bosch says, pointing out the other door that likely leads into that room for the others and moving to join Ty at the farthest door.
Ty, Bosch and Roscoe hit them from the northern entrance, and the others hit them from the south. Good plan?
DM medlii
Since no one chimed in, we will go ahead with Bosch's plan. I put you where I thought everyone should be, please fix the map if I put you in the wrong spot.
Opening the door to the large room, you find that numerous black-sheeted cots fill this room, their satin coverings and overstuffed pillows seeming more akin to funerary trappings than the resting places of the living. Numerous skulls are set evenly within the room's stone walls. Candles inside t hem cause them to glow like morbid jack-o-lanterns and cast dim light across the room.
Three unmasked Queen's Physicians and four more humans wearing brown ragged robes are awaiting your entrance at the southern door along with four skeletons. "Kill the intruders!" one of the Physicians shouts, hoisting his club.
