NEED ANOTHER PLAYER FOR 1930'S ERA CTHULHU
In 1930-31, Miskatonic University funded an Antarctic Expedition which ventured forth into the icy wastes of the southern continent in search of new discoveries. Instead the intrepid adventurers found horror, tragedy, and a great and ancient secret.
Those secrets still lie under the ice of that mysterious continent waiting to be uncovered...
Real Life, a greater killer of PBP characters than any Killer GM has laid low another one of my players.
Please post a concept you are interested in playing if you wish to join the campaign.
Thank you for your interest.

Using CoC ruleset, I presume? If so, which one? I have played many iterations of the system.
A few more questions, if you will indulge me. Is this Beyond the Mountains of Madness? What character archetypes are already in place? What is the post rate like? Are you already in Antarctica?
I am settling into 5th or 6th which are very similar.
Yes, Beyond the Mountains of Madness.
A Journalist, an Engineer, a Nurse, and two Scientists.
Post rate right now is slow as the first chapter is rather slow. Things pick up when I have more time and slow down when my work schedule gets busy.
Still in New York.

I want to put a dot in here, in case Vampire Kitty decides they aren't interested after all.
I'm a huge Lovecraft fan, but I've no experience with the system. I wouldn't otherwise apply, if I didn't happen to notice the "main" recruitment thread didn't garner any interest after a significant period. If you'd be willing to be patient with someone who's not familiar with the system, barring any (other) interest from those who are, then I'd gladly start working something up.

I had 7 players originally and am down to 5 if you are interested go ahead and start working something up. Being green to a system is ok for me, this is a simple system to learn. Let me know if you need a link to creation rules.

If you have something other than what you'd posted in the other thread, I'd appreciate it.
Barring that, I only saw one thing during my read (obviously subject to change as I try to apply it to a character) that I didn't quite get. You said we get to pick our own occupations/salaries, and made note that a hobo wouldn't make 20k a year. While I get that, is there some distinct advantage to -not- being, say, a doctor, or just some rich inheritor like a lot of HP's characters? Just from standard grasps of games, if there isn't, then it seems obvious that I should pick a career that brings in the most money.
And thank you!

I do not. Ignore Computer Use as that was an error. I think those guidelines are clear enough. If you get stuck just PM me, you can make the character rolls here or in the other Recruitment thread if you like.
Money in Cthulhu can be important in some scenarios but does not drive the game forward in any meaningful way. The most important objects in this game are the ones you discover that money simply cannot buy. Also, this particular adventure that I am running money is even less important.

I would also be interested, though am in the same boat as AEroden. If you have any links to give me information on the particular system and character creation, that would be helpful. Or you can ignore me entirely. That's your choice. Thanks!
Let's see if Vampire Kitty is interested then I will let you know. Even if Vampire Kitty is interested I will keep you in mind if the group fills up and someone else drops.

Alright Wandering Messenger. Here is a link to the creation rules, remember to ignore the Computer Use skill. Character Creation
VK I will keep you next on the Cthulhu waiting list.
Looking forward to seeing what you and Aerodan come up with.
