Name: Luke_Parry
(Sorry for the delay - I was traveling for work, and didn't have my chronicles with me.) Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Knowledge(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23. "The fact that books such as these have survived is theoretically impossible. It would require the intervention of either personal preservative magics, or a serious disruption in the flow of time..." Is there a specific aura on the books, or on the area as a whole?

"Flesh that does not know the life has fled from it; a sentience held together by the echo of what once was... allow me to disabuse you of your errors..." Not betraying any emotions, Victor strides into the room, and takes a swing at the remaining undead. +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 1 + 4 = 28, for 1d10 + 15 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 4 = 20 Magical, Ghost-Touch, Slashing damage. Fort: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27. Victor continues to ignore the fog, and focuses upon Pink. "It is time for your continued false existence to end. You are, after all, already dead; your body just doesn't know it yet... It is time to accept the inevitability of it; the futility of existence..." +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 1 + 4 = 34, for 1d10 + 15 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 15 + 4 = 22 Magical, Ghost-Touch, Slashing damage.

Fort: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32. "Ashes to ashes... Dust to dust... The undead are souls that have not accepted their fate, as the universe spirals towards the Ultimate Entropy..." Victor calmly 5' steps forward, seemingly ignoring the nauseating cloud's effects, and starts swinging with his obscenely long ectoplasmic blade, which seems to reach out for the restless dead... Starting with Red, if it is still up. +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 1 + 4 = 28, for 1d10 + 15 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 15 + 4 = 27 Magical, Ghost-Touch, Slashing damage.

Victor nods down the corridor. "There is a magical trap down there. Is anyone here capable of handling such devices, or should this shell do so, with the power of its mind?"
Male Half-Orc Ex-Cleric 1 / Spiritualist(Phantom Blade) 6 (HP 38/52) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 20) (Fort +13, Ref +7, Will +15) (Init +1) (Perception +20)
Victor shakes his head. "This vessel is already the property of another Power; the Crawling Chaos, He-Of-Many-Faces-And-Of-None does not share." Like Goran, he does not willingly accept a brand.
Male Half-Orc Ex-Cleric 1 / Spiritualist(Phantom Blade) 6 (HP 38/52) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 20) (Fort +13, Ref +7, Will +15) (Init +1) (Perception +20)
A humanoid clad in full plate, wearing a mask made of crudely-stitched leather, strides out of the mist. The only visible part of his body are his eyes, which have a decidedly... haunted... look about them, as if they have seen far too much, and understood more of it than any mortal mind should have the misfortune of doing so... at least without breaking... He nods to the party. "This shell is Victor. The Entropy of the universe is inevitable, and all of History will ultimately be lost... but until that day comes, he will work to assist the directional flow of Entropy to further assist his position, and that of the Society's, within this doomed reality..." A small bundle of spinning ioun stones then floats out from behind his shoulder. Victor nods. "That is the familiar." Serendipitously, he is an Ioun Wyrd :-) Amongst other things, that means he has Blindsight, which should hopefully help to keep Surprise to a minimum. He then starts coughing, looking for all the world like he is going to be sick, then vomits forth a great gout of ectoplasm, which hangs in the air, ultimately forming a great, scythe-like blade, which Victor holds easily, as if it were an old friend... He swings it a few times, the air around it humming, and giving off a faint hint of ozone...

Fort: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22. Victor weathers the strain upon his life-force without complaint. "Struggle all you wish, spirit. You cannot overcome the ultimate entropy of the universe..." He then focuses, channeling more ectoplasmic energy into his weapon, steps back, and takes another swing... Adding Keen to the Fauchard as a Swift. +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard (Keen): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25, for 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 Magical, Ghost-Touch, Slashing damage.

Will: 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 15 + 2 = 36. I have Negative Energy Resistance 5, reducing that to 4 damage on me. Victor remains unimpressed. "Pathetic. That said, I suppose that I should expect nothing more from a creature that couldn't maintain a corporeal existence..." He then keeps swinging. +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13, for 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 Magical, Ghost-Touch, Slashing damage.

I have seen the veil of reality ripped away, revealing the Gods of *this* plane, and to them, you are less than nothing..." Victor, remorselessly, keeps swinging. +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12, for 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 Magical, Ghost-Touch, Slashing damage.

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18. Victor dodges the worst of the blast. I always like it when the scenario punishes the party for adopting the 'hack first and hack often' approach ;-)

Will: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33. Victor frowns, mildly irritated. "Your time is over, Spirit..." He then vomits up a gout of green ectoplasm, which coats his weapon, making it somehow sharper... (Spending two points of Ectoplasm to add Keen to my weapon, since you can crit with ghost-touch!) ...then 5' steps forward to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Zadim, then takes a swing. +2 Ghost-Touch, Keen Fauchard: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26, for 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 Magical Ghost-Touch damage. ...which proves quite ruinous to the Yaenit. I'll take a crit for 44 damage ;-) Huh. Apparently, what my weapon needs to power-up is another PC being KO'ed :-P

When he sees that Brallenera has stopped moving, Victor raises an eyebrow, but refrains from commenting. Instead, he keeps swinging at the Orange Yaenit, ignoring the cover it has. +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16, for 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24 Magical Ghost-Touch damage.

Victor shrugs. "This is no worse than the darkness which clouds my thoughts, which is but an echo of my past..." He then takes a swing at the closest enemy that he can see (preferably the injured Yaenit, but I'll take what I can get). +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20, for 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21 Magical Ghost-Touch damage.

@GM Elberion: *nods* I was aware about SLA not having material components - the 'reduced casting time' is just icing on the cake :-D @Zadim: No worries! Most of the time, you have just been 5' stepping (if you moved at all), so I hadn't really noticed the discrepancy before...

Two-Weapon Fighting *is* a full attack action, not a standard. Core Rule Book:
Full Attack: If you get more than one attack per round because your base attack bonus is high enough (see Base Attack Bonus in Classes), because you fight with two weapons or a double weapon, or for some special reason, you must use a full-round action to get your additional attacks. Italicised for emphasis. Re: Spell-likes, I had always thought that since the Universal Monster Rule for summoning said: A creature with the summon ability can summon other specific creatures of its kind much as though casting a summon monster spell, but it usually has only a limited chance of success (as specified in the creature’s entry). That meant it had a 1 round casting time, as well. That said, I am *very* happy to go with the interpretation you are running with, because that means that monsters which have, say, Raise Dead or Resurrection as a spell-like suddenly became a *heck* of a lot more sexy, since you could use them in the middle of combat :-)
Male Half-Orc Ex-Cleric 1 / Spiritualist(Phantom Blade) 6 (HP 38/52) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 20) (Fort +13, Ref +7, Will +15) (Init +1) (Perception +20)
I was waiting until my turn, but... Will: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35. Also, just a few things that have bugged me... How does Zadim move, *and* full attack? Normally, if you have to move, you only get a single attack, unless you have something like pounce. What am I missing? Monster 'Summon' abilities function as per Summon Monster, which means they have a 1 round casting time - so it doesn't take effect until the start of its next turn, unless the Yaenit is an exception to that rule? EDIT: Ah, it *is* now my turn! Ignoring the cover provided by Zadim, Victor hacks away at the Yaenit. +2 Ghost-Touch Fauchard: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19, for 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17 Magical Ghost-Touch damage.

Victor reports back to the others. "Either there are some Kuthites up ahead, or, more likely, there are further prisoners, who are currently being tortured..." He then heads down the pathway, ready to start carving!

"They seem safe enough for the moment - is setting them free to wander around a good idea?" With a shrug, Victor opens the double doors that he is next to.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32.
Victor casually spots some loot. When more Gnolls make themselves known, he shrugs at the inevitability of it all. More souls to send to the Boneyard, hastening the end of everything...

Victor moves into the central room, and looks down the corridor. "It's a dead end." With a shrug, he then moves to the side chamber, where there is a door to deeper into the complex. |
