Roderick Xim

1d100 ⇒ 37 Roderick sees the ghost depart but then wonders about all the others in the room.
Ghosts, slavers? Where did....how are we going to...bombs! I need to throw more....bombs! Or wait...not yet. Who are these...other people. Allies? Enemies? Probably.
He babbles from above the shelf.
Nanny Ahd

Nanny will ready an action to cast magic missiles on the ghost, should it appear again.
magic missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4, 3) + 3 = 13
| Zadim - Pregen |
Zadim glances to Nanny. "I admire your desire to finish the fiend. However, I do not think it likely the spirit will return here soon." The slayer keeps his weapons drawn, then follows Xim.
| GM Elberion |
"Agreed. I fear it will remain in these walls only to revitalize this vile place when we can no longer track it."
Of course, the only way to truly slay a ghost is to lay it to rest.
| GM Elberion |
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The mean GM's response is 'you don't know yet.' That's a bit too mean though. Yes, it is possible to find out."
Are you going to chase after the ghost, or shall we close initiative?
Nanny Ahd
|
Nanny pushes back her hair into place after the fight. "Well, if it appears again we can disperse it. If not, then this cursed place will remain haunted."
Ready to move on and look for a way to put it to rest for good.

Xim is still confused, incidentally.
Not sure for how much longer. Do I need to keep rolling Xim's confused actions or can the party tackle him or something? He has lots of bombs remaining...Muhahahahaha!
Roderick blinks a few times, still trying to orient himself.

Zadim attempts to restrain Xim.

Zadim puts the squeeze on Xim.
Xim is grappled. He will try to attack Xim next round but after that you have a decent chance of pinning him, especially if the rest aid.
Roderick Xim
|
Roderick sneers at Zadim
Alas, your true colors are revealed, I knew I couldn't trust you!
He will try to beat on Zadim, but only has a longspear in hand....so dropping that, and punching....not sure if it provokes though since Zadim is grapping.

I'm going to call this or we will get bogged down.
The pathfinders succesfully pin their alchemist friend to the ground until the spell which addled his wits has worn off.
The magic circle against evil around Zadim persists 50 minutes and anyone who stands close to the slayer can feel its soothing presence.

So, I missed something when you checked the cells. I have marked it on the map.
Furnished in a fashion similar to the other cells, on one of the pegs hangs a set of keys, on another, a sloppily looped cotton bandage heavily stained with blood.
Scrawled across the walls in Othine’s own blood are dozens of hateful tirades, murderous threats, and violent fantasies all directed against Whispershade and various other important leaders of the Twilight Talons.
The writings blame these individuals for manipulating personal freedom in the guise of saving it and for breaking her will. The writings extol the punishments of Lamashtu and describe some sort of awakening or rebirth in which Othine’s thoughts broke free from the shackles of humanity.
Dalanse’s name.

"It is an Eagle Ring, one of the Eagle Knights' highest honors. I am glad that we were able to capture Othine. I'm afraid terrible things have been done to her mind."
| Zadim - Pregen |
"The higher the honor, the greater the fall from grace it would seem." Zadim comments grimly. "If all our allies have their wits, let us be moving. That grim spirit is no doubt up to something."
| GM Elberion |
The corridor opens into another chamber. This stark, unfinished chamber is lit only by four candles on the floor, placed at the far corners of the room.
In this cavern you find a huge, grotesque parody of life. This warped, gigantic gnoll is chained to the back wall and it lactates black milk even as it grimaces and howls at the lights you bring into the chamber.
