Male Goblin Fighter 5

Yeah, this is just a dramatic pause. *smiles*

Male Goblin Fighter 5

If he survives this, Twang will buy some fancy trick arrows to do things like attach light rope or arrows with light cast on them.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Round 10:
Twang peers out from his hiding place at the general vicinity where the spikes are being fired from. He notches an arrow and waits for the creature to fire again, planning to shoot an arrow of his own at the spot where he sees the spikes originate from.

One shot with cold iron arrow, deadly aim 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Miss chance if still invisible, high is good as is normal in d20 1d100 ⇒ 61
-2 to hit if more than 110 feet away

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Round 9:
Twang tries to spot the invisible enemy and find a spot where he can possibly hide. If there is no spot he can move to on the platform that will allow him to hide, he'll just keep looking for the creature.

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Stealth if possible 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Round 8:
Twang quickly moves to the platform now that the way is mostly clear.

The little goblin should be able to reach T or 27/28, cannot quite tell which with the map.

*tips his hat* Thank you very much

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Round 7:
Twang dances a little jig as he hears the crowd cheering his name. Most everyone seems to be heading to the center, so Twang decides it would be a good idea to join them.

Precise deadly aim show 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Once the shot is fired, hit or miss, he'll start moving and end up in DD16.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Round 6:
Sorry this is late, I was waiting for Big Death to post first so I could support him and the others. Without that, the little goblin will attack the nearest thing.

Twang takes a five-foot step to DD10, then spins around and opens fire at the lion in W,V/1,2.

Deadly aim rapid, precise longbow shot 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Deadly aim rapid, precise longbow shot 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

I bet living is higher on the captain's list than losing one of your three "lives."

Male Goblin Fighter 5

If you rub your local goblin's forehead for luck, you'll see a change quickly. Or lose a finger. Maybe you should feed him first. That would help. :)

Male Goblin Fighter 5

I've got to agree with the others. Given the size, number of actors and situation, this is running at blazing speed. And it's fun. I'm enjoying playing the lucky team mascot and BIg Death Reaper is a great image.

The whole trap situation is actually working better than I thought it would, to be honest. I've seen others try to put traps in these situations and either it slowed down play a lot or was a non factor.

Overall, I'm enjoying myself and that's what matters.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang:
As time stands still, Twang suddenly feels very hungry and wishes he could have some sort of snack food ...

Then the moments come crashing back together and he makes a five-foot step to X10. He tries to get a bead on the lion in CC/DD/13/14 but there are so many people in the way he can't see clearly.

Then the little goblin shrugs and lets two arrows fly into the melee of his fellow gladiators and the lions.

Twang is more than 30 feet away from his target, so no +1 to hit/damage. Also, his allies are blocking his shot and the goblin lacks Improved Precise Shot. So I'll include the additional -4 to attack in my rolls. Precise shot still negates the -4 for shooting into melee.
Point blank Precise Rapid shot with deadly aim with cover 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 12 - 4 = 20
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Point blank Precise Rapid shot with deadly aim with cover 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 12 - 4 = 26
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

If there is no target in sight when it's Twang's turn, he'll move down to shoot the lion behind his target. If that is the case, just add two to the first attack roll.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang:
The goblin's wide eyes seem to bulge out of their sockets as the lion almost gobbles him up in one swift bite. He quickly takes a 5-foot step back to X11 and draws two more arrows.

"Big death gonna kill you!" he says as he fires at the lion in W/X, 13/14.

Point blank Precise Rapid shot with deadly aim 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Damage 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Point blank precise Rapid shot with deadly aim 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Damage 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Quick question:
never mind, it seems I misread the post. Sorry..

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang:
The extra +1 to hit and damage is from his Weapon Training class feature. Twang choose bows at 5th level.

Weapon Training (Ex)

Starting at 5th level, a fighter can select one group of weapons, as noted below. Whenever he attacks with a weapon from this group, he gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls.

Every four levels thereafter (9th, 13th, and 17th), a fighter becomes further trained in another group of weapons. He gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls when using a weapon from this group. In addition, the bonuses granted by previous weapon groups increase by +1 each. For example, when a fighter reaches 9th level, he receives a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls with one weapon group and a +2 bonus on attack and damage rolls with the weapon group selected at 5th level. Bonuses granted from overlapping groups do not stack. Take the highest bonus granted for a weapon if it resides in two or more groups.

A fighter also adds this bonus to any combat maneuver checks made with weapons from this group. This bonus also applies to the fighter's Combat Maneuver Defense when defending against disarm and sunder attempts made against weapons from this group.

Bows: composite longbow, composite shortbow, longbow, and shortbow.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang:
The goblin takes a 5-foot step straight back and unleashes two arrows at the lion right in front of him.

"Me eats lion for dinner tonight!"

Point blank Precise Rapid shot with deadly aim 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Damage 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Point blank precise Rapid shot with deadly aim 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Damage 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Thanks for the explanation, I understand what happened now.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang:
i was trying to use the Run maneuver to get inside the crack, since I started at a slight angle to the whole in the wall. From the SRD:

Run

You can run as a full-round action. If you do, you do not also get a 5-foot step. When you run, you can move up to four times your speed in a straight line (or three times your speed if you're in heavy armor). You lose any Dexterity bonus to AC unless you have the Run feat.

You can run for a number of rounds equal to your Constitution score, but after that you must make a DC 10 Constitution check to continue running. You must check again each round in which you continue to run, and the DC of this check increases by 1 for each check you have made. When you fail this check, you must stop running. A character who has run to his limit must rest for 1 minute (10 rounds) before running again. During a rest period, a character can move no faster than a normal move action.

You can't run across difficult terrain or if you can't see where you're going.

A run represents a speed of about 13 miles per hour for an unencumbered human.

That's why I moved to where I did in round one. I was hoping that would be enough of an angle to have my straight line go into the wall. The idea was they would try to get at him but not be close enough to finish him off. If that is not possible under your rules, that's fine. I can still withdraw this turn to get away from them.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang's Round Two action:
The little goblin can see the lions looking around for some tasty, bite-size morsel to eat. Then he notices a crack in the ruins near them and smiles.

"Me distraction!" Twang yells as he runs forward, screaming insults at the lions.

"Stupid hairy bags of teeth and claws! Can't work together like dogs! Not as scary as horses!" he says as he scrambles into the crack in the ruins around U,V 16. He goes as deep into the crack as he can squeeze, all the while taunting the animals to come in after him.

Twang will lose his Dex bonus to AC this round because of running and squeezing into the crack

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang steps out, raising up his bow in one hand and a couple slabs of raw bloody meat in the other. He immediately flings one hunk of meat near the structure to the north of his entrance, then starts to move south to W1. The whole time he flings bits of meat out into random spots, hoping to delay the beasts to give everyone time to group up.

As he moves, a string of link sausages flaps around the little goblin's neck where he wrapped the tasty treats around him like a necklace.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Given his height and ranged weapons, Twang will try to get to the high ground with the others. While running there, he'll drop raw meat as a free action to distract and slow the animals.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Initiative 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Male Goblin Fighter 5

*Twang crawls out from under one of the bunks, his bed unslept in.*

"Me stick with pretty lady what wants to kill people!"

He does a little jig in the dorm room.

"Goblins not people so me safe!"

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang nibbles some of the food still left out.

"See how all stand near food? We can use food to distract dumb monsters! Me would starve them to make them more vicious. Food will make them stop in place good for ambush. If not work, hunks of meat can set off traps."

The little goblin looks around at everyone else to see what they think of the idea. A broken, scared bone covers the top his face like a helmet, while the muted greens, browns and blacks serve to make him look like some jungle savage.

"IF that not work, me going to buy bit and bridle. Lots of monsters running loose in ruins sounds like chance to get new mount!"

If the others like the idea, Twang will chip in for some raw meat and BBQ sauce. He'll also buy a bit and bridle in case he gets a chance to bust a demonic bronco. Also, I have this urge to buy a bucket of paint. For some reason, I have this vision of invisible monsters being set loose on us and the folks at home just use see invisible screens

Male Goblin Fighter 5

Twang just wants to look more savage, as he explains to the gnome.

"Me want to look fierce. Most gnomes scared of me. Usually point and yell right after I shoot at them. Me need to look fierce, but not shiny. Me still want to hide sometimes."

The goblin will gravitate to blacks, browns and greens, muted colors to blend into a variety of backgrounds. He'll try to keep the cracked skull helmet and whatever they come up with to make his mouth look more like a painful maw.

Do we need to come up with a battle standard, or does that come later? Also, can we still spend money? What these guys have been saying gave Twang an idea.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

The little goblin's head pokes out of one of the trunks holding clothes so he can better listen to the explanation of the games. Then he asks a question of his own.

"How me make sharp arrow nonlethal for match? Is it magics or just rule me must follow?"

Once he hears the answer, Twang goes back to rummaging through the clothes. He fishes out some part of a cracked skull and plants it on his head like a helmet.

"Any of this able to make teeth sharp? Me wanna look good."

I like Plan C and Cannon Fodder, as well. I'm aware there are some nonlethal arrow options in some books, just wonder if some magic makes all attacks nonlethal in those matches or if the PCs use saps or take the -4 to attacks for nonlethal. Or is that just a rule against deathblows? And sorry about the Bonegrinders suggestion. I should have known it came to me too easy and checked the other thread.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

The goblins appears from under some furniture once the noise dies down a little.

"Me wants to see them fight! Throw paint on the dark one so he can't hide, then we all watch."

Throwing stuff out there to inspire others. The Mean Green Team, esp. if we have lots of orcs and dinos. Fresh Meat. The Bonegrinders. The Hit Squad. The Undertakers. Death's Door. The Black Heralds.

The sound of crashing plates and breaking bottles attracts attention back to the waiting area.

Twang is standing beside a long buffet table covered with hors d'oeuvres, pulling on the tablecloth to drag food over the edge into his open mouth. Every single tooth is visible since the little green monster’s head has swung open on a hinge, like a mimic of a treasure chest. Then it slams back shut again, tearing apart food and utensils alike.

Suddenly, a toothpick-speared olive floats just out of reach of the little goblin. He jumps and snaps at the treat, which dangles on invisible cords closer to The Announcer. An attractive human woman with a shaved head and white dress stares at the distraction intently, the blue gem embedded in her forehead reflecting the glare of the camera lights.

Finally, the little goblin is in center frame, hopping back and forth as he tries to reach the food. He quickly realizes everyone is looking at him expectantly, and begins to speak.

”Me good with bow, good for hurting peoples far away. When they get close, me little enough to hide until I can hurt them again. Also me very smart, me eat one book a day to put lots of words in my head so I don’t lose them.”

Then the goblin reaches up and grabs the olive out of the air and points the food straight at the camera.

”My special move is to shoot big people in their big eyes. Then they can’t see me and I get a treat to eat after.”

The goblin swallows the olive - toothpick and all – and then belches loudly.

”One day, me be goblin emperor - made of fire - burning dogs and horses and mans and gnomes and anyone me not like. Then me take nap.”

Twang stops chewing on the table leg long enough to sign the affidavit confirming his weight class and inventory with the scrawled picture of a goblin smiling while picking something gooey out of his ear.

The Producer wrote:
Mithral armor includes the masterwork cost, as per the entry on mithril items.

You have just saved some of my other characters some money. I've read that rule before, but it just never stuck in my head for some reason. I'll set aside that gold for future purchases and note the same on the character sheet.

EDIT: Double-checked prices and we both agree there is 150 gold left over. It is listed as unspent on my character sheet.

Gear weight that Twang carries 13.5 lbs total (Arrows, composite longbow, javelins inside the quiver, so their 24 lbs weight doesn't affect carrying capacity.) His total gear weight is 37.5.

His carrying capacity is 24.75 light, medium 24.76-49.5, heavy 49.6-75, lift over head 75, lift off ground while staggering 150, drag 375 (weight in pounds)

I'll go over the money and carrying capacity, adding notations to the sheet to make sure of the numbers.

Twang does carry a spare bow in case his is sundered. An error on the noted type might explain the money. I'll double check. EDIT: I'm fairly certain the extra 150 gold was to make the Mithril Shirt masterwork so I could enchant it. Is the shirt considered masterwork already? I did not see that in the description.

I was unaware that Wpn Focus and Specialization didn't apply to both types of longbows. I always assumed the end of the weapon description meant they did stack.

Weapon bit:
"For purposes of Weapon Proficiency and similar feats, a composite longbow is treated as if it were a longbow."

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/longb ow-composite

If that refers to some other feats I'm unaware of, I'll fix that on the sheet too. I'll probably try to make sure both weapons are composite just so we don't have to worry about ranges changing if a weapon is sundered.

The Producer wrote:
Also, Twang, what's a "Fighter Barbarian?"

It's a typo. I don't have Hero Lab (using a Mac here), so I copied one of the other character's sheets and filled in the numbers. It should be corrected now.

Two small arrows fly out of a dark corner to land near Dumb Karl's feet.

"Hey, pretty one! Distract monsters with your kissy face while the two ugly ones grind them up. I'll shoot the rest."

The little goblin smiles. "Then we can burn them with fire!"

Will we gain gold during this game or reset our ammo? If not, I'll need to change my sheet to buy extra ammo. I can make a thrower type who does damage with Strength if everyone thinks that necessary. A barbarian hurler or something like that.

Twang grew up like most goblins - flithy, hungry and eager to kill.
He was good at hiding and riding, but never seemed to do much damage either way. He didn't like being close to things when he hit them since most of the time they tried to hit him right back. So he decided to climb trees and attack passers-by. But after enough hungry nights spent waiting and hiding from giant spiders, a gnomish archer decided to rest under his very tree.

As quick as a goblin can drop a rock, Twang had a new weapon to attack peoples from afar. He's been in love with longbows ever since.
