GM BPChocobo TK2 wrote: Assuming the key would be produced
Artemus pulls out the key, prompting the kolyarut to draw its weapon and point it at the arcanist. "You will hand over that key immediately. The being sealed below must not be released."
"If there's some chaotic being below, we are ordered by the hellknights to take it out, we have no intention to release it. You can close the door behind us. Ask your superiors to clairvoyance in a week's time. If they declare it safe, you can let us out again. As we destroyed the proteans here without breaking a sweat, it is likely we can actually remove the threat below as well. Better to take it out than to try and keep it locked up right?"
Intelligence: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14
"The strange key we recovered from the alcove looks similar to the pattern on the floor!"
"Is this a puzzle of some kind?"
"Most of them I guess. The slew every protean we encountered except the one that fled from here."
"Stop attacking us! We've got permission from K394-M43 to defeat the proteans."
"Vile chaotic worm, any last words before we smite you?!"
GM BPChocobo TK2 wrote: So one miiiinor thing based on position, Thunderstealer, are you indeed standing on the red rune? Airwalking above it, not standing on it, if that matters...
Ok, back to the double doors!
"Stop attacking us! We've got permission from K394-M43 to defeat the proteans, but it looks like they have not breached this door. We'll continue elsewhere."
Thunderstealer will activate the ioun stone.
"Let's check out the door now. Although we might reach the inevitable infirmary with its automated defenses, if so, let's ignore it so we don't accidentally cross the threshold which wards against any non-inevitable."

Probably need someone with knowledges
Thunderstealer quickly takes a peek around the corner to investigate the stange sound
I'd gladly use my wand of CLW to heal Nilfyr's minor injuries, but I'd like to stay in Dino shape for now. Luckily everyone has their own wands so it's a bit of a non-issue.

Thunderstealer will enter the room and trigger the ready
"I think it's a trap, but I'm ready to go in anyway and just slay those things"
Thunderstealer will use his headband of shifting to change into a fiendish deinonychus.

"Ok, we'll clean this floor, but we won't bother with the basement."
Ready to go in!
GM BPChocobo TK2 wrote: With that, the two centaur figures release their magics and lower their arms. The kolyarut asks a more properly worded question to the party, "As you stated previously that you are explorers, what is your end goal to this complex?" "First we want to make sure it poses no threat to the people living nearby. Second we want to learn more about this spire. As we don't know everything about it yet we don't currently have an end goal."
"By the way, we met a kolyarut inevitable a long time ago a few levels up and we helped him remove a chaotic disturbance."

GM BPChocobo TK2 wrote: The inevitables then turn to Artemus, their emotionless voices echoing in the chamber in unison. "State your cause, mortal." As the metal horsemen didn't seem to have heard Artemus' words Thunderstealer speaks very slow and loud:
"We are here on orders of the local Hellknights to explore this dungeon and rid it of any chaotic or evil elements, for the safelty of the villagers."
"Talking seems like something we could try. We are here on official 'lawful business' right?"
Oh! Knowledge plaes, I got that one! Also a 1 isn't an automatic failure, so you might even pass!
Knowledge (planes) (assisting Artemus): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
"Does anyone know what kind of creatures these are?" Thunderstealer asks the rest of the party.
Artemus Jarm wrote: Then I am ready to go. Was surprised to see the wish on the chronicle sheet. Was thinking you said it was not there. In truth it's hardly there. Those are some lame results for wishes. lol. Yeah, this prevents chronicle hunting I guess...
Do we need to level for the next two floors?
"I trust the demon to destroy the lich, but I personally wouldn't accept a wish as a reward in return. Either the demon will corrupt the wish, or the wish will corrupt you!"
Destroying the phylactery still seems like a good idea, taking a wish from a demon as a reward is questionable.
"Who or what are you?" Thunderstealer shouts from the hall
Nilfyr Starshadow wrote: He would also be willing to lend his Cloak of Resistance +3 to others, since there's no requirement that we all go in at once. Of course, if Heroism is an option, all the better. True, Thunderstealer has a cloak +5 that he can lend out too if we don't go in together. However, It does smell a bit "musky".
Assuming we rest before we go in, I'd like to cast Fey Form III and Bear's Endurance for an extra +4 on Fortitude saves, so a +21 in total.

Although Thunderstealer is quite happy with his age, a bit of extra youth is always welcome. We've been in this dungeon for more than 6 years :-P
If I wasn't a druid, I'd jump at the opportunity to wear a Graveknight 's fullplate... NOT!
Oops, due to clearing my cookies I didn't notice the activity in the thread...
GM BPChocobo TK2 wrote: @Thunderstealer: His sheet shows +23 (+15 base and +8 due to his feat and gear. If it is higher from something else, I would like to know! Also, as I read it, Mounted Combat's ride check roll thing outride negates the attack, it doesn't replace the AC so I do not believe the AC penalty from charging would affect that.
@Artemus: Typically Nilfyr trips; that's how he has always played so I went with what he does.
You are missing the weapon enhancement +2 and the (greater) weapon focus +2. In Nilfyr's macros, it is noted down correctly.
If Nilfyr wants he can use one of my rerolls (with an additional +5)
Also doesn't Nilfyr has something of a +27 to his trip attacks rolls? (and does the charging give a -2 on the ridecheck AC?)
