Ok everyone, sorry about that wait! I had to make a trip to the ER a few days ago due to feeling very odd and such. I initially thought it was something very serious, but apparently, due to my sleep schedule, the doctors have said that I have developed panic attacks. Mine was severe enough where it shot my blood pressure up to 178/105 and my heart rate up to 107. After being put through a few tests, they told me that it was panic attacks. I am fine now though and have some medication for it, Lorazepam I believe is the name. I will have the modified Jade Regent recruitment up soon!
I believe that I will also run a table of Agents of the Palatine Eye Carrion Crown variant, as well as POSSIBLY a WotW campaign. Despite GM'ing 9 games before simultaneously, I think that I will choose to cap out my GM'ing at 7 games this time: Curse of the Coral Throne, 2 tables of my post-apocalyptic campaign, and Jade and Honor of which are definite choices, since the first 3 are already recruiting and the last one will have a recruitment up today.
I will post the recruitment thread for Jade Regent within 24 hours. I have decided that, in addition to setting it entirely in Tian Xia, I will also be setting it at level 3, so that the PCs can get past the 'almighty slayer of rats and paraplegic poultry' stage and into the juicier levels that actually make PCs feel like distinct characters in regards to their capabilities. The PCs can be from anywhere on Golarion, but natives of Tian Xia are strongly preferred, unless a compelling 'foreigner' can be created intriguing enough. The campaign will take the PCs across quite a few of the nations of Tian Xia, so expect to see all sorts of Asian culture references, not just the typical ones, though there is a distinct focus on Japanese, Chinese, and Mongolian lore, with a bit of Tibetan, Korean, and Malaysian lore as well. This campaign will be 3PP-friendly, so I want you to consider what kind of character that you REALLY want to build. :) cartmanbeck, as far as I know he hasn't, because he has just wrapped up his first recruitment and was, if I recall correctly, waiting on getting the first bit of gameplay up before he opens another recruitment.
Ok guys, I thought I would update everyone on the comings and goings of Sir Awesomesauce McSnazzlepants, since I had someone PM me earlier regarding the situation with this campaign. He told me that he would post around 4:00 P.M. EST today for his selections. I am, once I work out the specifics of my WotR, probably going to select 5 or 6 of you for my game. Altogether, that is 10-12 PCs getting selected! Also, I am probably opening another table on my post-apocalyptic campaign for those interested in getting in on some Fallout-style action! Plus, a recruitment for Jade Regent campaign set entirely in Tian Xia will be up within a week's time!
Riuk, that is fine. Vanessa Ares, here are answers to your questions, 1. Yes, because Perks are slightly stronger than Feats. 2. Yes. 3. No, it functions as normal but only applies to physical attacks that are not composed of energy and do not use antimaterial, armor-piercing, or other, similar bullet types.
Ok, since Sir Awesomesauce is having difficulties deciding on whether to go with two campaigns or not, who would prefer if I asked him if he would be amenable to me opening a WotR so some of the people he wants to be in a campaign will get in one and he will not feel bad about leaving more people campaign-less? I will, however, make my campaign a bit different than the as-written one, more so than even he with the boosted encounters. I was considering making a Wrath of the Righteous with an altered BBEG anyway, so I would already have great PCs lined up for the campaign! EDIT: Sweet mug of Cayden Cailen! Almost 800 posts! This is, hands down, the biggest recruitment thread that I have ever seen! Well, at least the posters are quite prolific!
I will be adding a few of my own ideas for twisted campaigns in a little while. I will be creating my own 'Twisted APs' thread, so I will probably post a link to it here later. And before anyone asks, yes I have two campaigns in recruitment and no, extra GM'ing will not overburden me. As Sir Awesomesauce can attest to, I once GM'd NINE campaigns on one website, not counting the homegroup or my MMO roleplay group. The only things which killed the campaigns were: player drop due to real life issues, player drop due to other players dropping, a few TPKs of PC groups in classic superdungeons like Rappan Athuk, and an unfortunate incident involving a wanna-be PVPer munchkin rules-lawyer (Yes, all of the dreaded archetypes combined into one player!) who, when he was kicked out of the group for killing another PC in their sleep, reported the Porphyr House Horror adventure that I was running since it had mature content, which led to me being booted from the forums, thus leaving several groups GM'less. So I AM dedicated to my campaigns! I might miss a day a week most of the time, due to my girlfriend wanting an 'Us Day', but I usually know about it in advance and can let PCs know. Sorry for the long ramble, I just know most people get sketchy when one person GMs multiple games and I wanted to explain that I am not one of those GMs that get neglectful.
So, the Northern Expanse? Sounds good! I will have the recruitments up for this and Curse of the Coral Throne later! And I once, successfully I might add, ran 6 campaigns simultaneously on an old website and now-defunct profile, so running two is no problem at all. EDIT: Make that 9 campaigns: Skull and Shackles, a Mythic Planescape campaign, Iron Gods, Way of the Wicked, another post-apocalyptic campaign, Jade Regent, Council of Thieves, Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, and Carrion Crown.
Exactly as the title asks, I am curious as to how many people would be down for a Fallout/Wasteland/Gamma World/After the Bomb-style campaign set almost 100 years after a nuclear war. The campaign will be very Kingmaker-esque, with a hex map provided, so that PCs can forge their own path through the wasted lands. I will be providing new equipment for PC use, as well as explaining how radiation poisoning works in this campaign. There are full-auto weapons available, as well as burst-fire weapons, so all you fellow gun freaks out there, rejoice! You can finally have your Barbarian shoulder an AR-15 and go to town on mutated critters! The available races for play would be Human, Freak (Basically a Fallout Ghoul,), Synth (Android-like Cyborgs, sort of like Ash from Alien,), and Simian (Think Rise of the Planet of the Apes: intelligent primates who escaped from the ruined testing labs and subsequently bred a race of sentient, if still slightly below average intelligent, primates,). I MAY allow for other options, if they make sense within the context of the campaign. As for classes, no magic classes will be allowed, period. Now things like Alchemist lose the supernatural, magical fluff, but remain the same mechanically. Full casters, however, are unplayable. Psionics will be allowed for those who desire to play a caster type character and do not want the Machinesmith or similar classes. Psions are vanishingly rare, however, so be forewarned of that regarding fluff when building one, if you go that route. Most supernatural abilities in non-caster classes can be refluffed, so don't be discouraged! You will have the option of allowing your PC to start out with Mutations. In taking a Mutation, however, you also must take a Flaw, from a provided list, to balance it out. Also, each PC will begin by picking a Background, which grants a list of Perks, almost like Fallout. At each level, PCs gain a new Perk, chosen from their Background list. The available backgrounds include most that you would expect from a post-apocalyptic campaign: Pre-War Historian, Doctor, Tribal, Mercenary, ect. If there is enough interest and I create the recruitment thread, I will put up a list for people to peruse. Well, I think that covers the basics of what I was going to discuss in the interest check. I do have one question, however. Which of the areas listed below appeal to everyone regarding the starting campaign area? 1. The Great Northern Expanse- This includes the northern states of the USA, as well as southern portions of Canada. A relatively diverse area and one of the few that are less likely to have you dying of dehydration or starvation early in the campaign. 2. The Mojave- The classic setting for post-apocalypse scenarios, but also the most desolate and deadly of them all, likely to kill you by dehydration and hunger before any mutants or raiders can get to you. If you feel those are not interesting enough, make a suggestion! I have a lot of hex maps already made for the first three, but I am willing to let you post an alternate suggestions.
Ok, so my thoughts about my top 7 APs, and the players that I would use in each, are, with an extra class after a / if there is any gestalt: 1. Council of Night: Drez'zym, LE Male Drow Warlock/Bard (Oracle Alternate Class from a 3PP that plays almost identical to the 3.X one, only with the Pathfinder beefiness!)
2. Jarlmaker: Arnbjorn Bearclaw, NG Male Shifter Barbarian/Brawler (Possibly Werebear template in place of Brawler, if allowed!)
3. Agents of the Palatine Eye: Valere Caliphvaso, CN Male Human Bard/Investigator (Possibly using some of the Bardic Performances from Legendary Game's Gothic Grimoires: The Necrotic Verses!)
4. Jade and Honor: Brother Sun Chao, LN Male Human Stalker (Path of War version)/Monk (Master of Many Styles)
5. Iron Dytopia: A.N.G.E.L., LN Female Android Sorceror(Celestial)/Some martial cybernetics class
6. The Stone Remembers, The Stone Mourns: Uthmar Stonefist, LN Male Dwarf Death Knight (Rogue Genius Games class)/?
7. Council of Ravens: Allessandro Benifacce, CN Male Human Abstract Thief (3PP class that allows the character to steal mystical things, such as willpower, voices, souls, ect.!)/Moonchild (3PP caster class; would probably focus on the House governing Illusions!) EDIT: I would add Curse of the Coral Throne, but now I want to create the campaign! Expect a recruitment tomorrow. Finally some way to use the Cerulean Seas books! :) EDIT 2: Sir Awesomesauce McSnazzlepants is a friend of mine from way on back. We've gamed together since we started gaming, so we are fairly synchronized in our play and GM styles. |
