So, I know I'm going to come off as a complete b~+*! when I mention this, but as a player, I'd really like to bring something to the table. I think there needs to be a discussion about posting frequency. The story line is super cool but it's really difficult to keep it going when you only have 2 or 3 players carrying a scene, especially one that may be critical to the story. I've felt like this regarding the current scene with the death of a Founder. That seems like a really important scene to me that's not getting it's proper due or input. Now I absolutely understand that life happens and there will be times when posting frequency slows, but as we all know, play by post is a bit of a commitment (or it should be). It's frustrating when weeks, or in the case of this particular game, months go by without player posting (or the barest minimum of posting). Even I've had times where I haven't posted for a couple of weeks, but I make an effort to make sure it doesn't go any longer than that out of fairness to the other players and the DM so the scene doesn't die on the vine. Any thoughts other than for me to stop b$!&+ing or that that's just the way it is?

So here's Gemma's (and my own) thoughts on what we should do next.
The next option is the seagate wall, moving towards the lighthouse. Emerson and Anneca can figure out how to use their elementals to either take out guards or buy us some time (??). Emerson can use his Silence scroll (centered on himself?) so we can move up silently. Gemma has darkvision, so that should help with some extra guard detection. If Emerson does use the Silence and we all stay together (at least initially), we should be able to get off at least one shot each without sound from our pistols. If our rolls are good, that may down at least half to 1/4 (maybe) of our guard situation. I'm thinking the most likely place that the mechanism is to open the seagate is in the building attached to the lighthouse. So I think that's the end goal to aim for. Thoughts?

By the way...I will apologize in advance. I ended up using Turkish as my translation for Hallit. Based on the book's Kellid description, I would have preferred to use Mongolian or Innuit, but that wasn't available in the translator. I think either one of those would have done Hallit more justice.

Player aside...Gemma would feel the people in back are equally important to the people in front. She's basing her decisions purely on abilities and tactics. In her mind, everyone has a specific tactical position and she always has a reason behind it, even if no one else understands what the specific reason is:)

Gemma would opt then to grab her field backpack from her flat when she goes for lunch with her sister. It would contain the basics (waterskin, bedroll, blanket, etc.) Whatever she can jam in there and not affect her encumbrance too much. She would leave her armored coat in lieu of wearing her new breast plate as well as changing into travel clothes when she picks up her backpack.

So here's my list for Gemma's acquisitions. She purchased the following:
Traded/surrendered items:
So that leaves her with 35gp which I'm happy to contribute to whatever if needed

Let me make a quick correction...on the valve that Gemma is trying to fix...both player and PC know that the valve needs to be opened and not closed. I believe my post makes it seem as if Gemma is trying to close it, but she is, instead, attempting to open it back up. Make sense? So the main correction would be to Emerson..."I'm going to open it back up!"

Message for Issac! I had planned to have Gemma go forward and make her way around to Jenner. Do u think maybe Anneca could move around though the furnace room to come at Jenner from the other direction? He'll need three move actions to get to the valve and turn it twice. At full move it should allow us to get to him before he can open and rust the valve. What do u think? (If we did that, Anneca would end up at DB14, I think, and then have a chance to move again and get to the valve before Jenner does). That would then allow Emerson a chance to get down the stairs and do some engineering checks.

Cromlich...I get the sense that you are encouraging another constable to shoot Gemma. Is it because I called you Band-aid? Or is it because I'm bossy? That's not very nice:) It was the only square I could move to without taking an AOO! Sorry Willem! Maybe the DM can say I ducked down and away or something to give Willem a fair shot?? Maybe?? And my apologies to the DM for not including my header for initiative and round (apparently, or so I've heard, he's a real stickler for that sort of thing)!

FYI...in case it's lost in translation...it's Gemma that's a little bossy, not me (Okay, well, I am too, but in this case it is my character's trait). She's not meaning to. She just feels the need to manage things tactically if she can. Feel free to listen to her or not at your character's discretion:-)

Meditation Garden “Oh! Okay.” Gemma reluctantly walks over to the patch of grass next to Serena and sits down in a cross-legged position and tries to settle in. “Um…I wouldn’t want to disturb Const…I mean…excuse me…Kaea.” Gemma tries to relax but can’t. She sits there with perfect posture and stiff as a board, completely proper but not very conducive to meditation. Gemma leans in slightly and confesses in the same whispering tone, “I actually find these gardens…well…not very relaxing, if truth be told. I would much prefer sword play to hone my body and some reading to relax my mind.” Gemma realizes though that her opinion may not be favored by the constables so she quickly adds, “But I do like the fish! Those are relaxing!” As soon as she says it, she wishes she didn’t. The words sound entirely ridiculous to her own ears. She can’t even imagine what they sound like to Serena and Kaea.

So here's a little something I came up with today. This is knowledge that Gemma would have gained through the academy. Some of you will have done the same. Some of you may know a bit of the histories, some may not know them at all, and some of you may have actually lived the latter part of them. But Gemma is big on knowing her battles and war stories...which all good cadets should. Critical Battles of Lanjyr through the Ages Battle of the Fey Titans
Battle of McQuaig’s Hill
Declaration of Tagus (a.k.a. The Declaration of Reo Pedresco)
Boyle’s Last Battle
Battle of the Five Islands (Third Yerasol War)
Battle of Capital Hill (Third Yerasol War)
Battle of Beaumont (Fourth Yerasol War)
