To make a really long story short, we needed a dragon alive, it died, I am the only one who can ressurect it.
Problem is, I play a druid. If you don't already know, druids are equipped with a single, surprisingly low level ressurection spell: Reincarnation.
Now, this isn't my first rodeo. Our party happened to be very good at dying, so I've used the spell about four times. However, never on a non-humanoid...
With that out of the way, my questions:
Quote:
For a humanoid creature, the new incarnation is determined using the table below. For non-humanoid creatures, a similar table of creatures of the same type should be created.
1) What should the "similar table of creatures" look like for a dragon? Dragons of the same color with different ages? Dragons of the same age with diferent colors? A list of magical creatures?
2) Should the dragon get the body of a different color dragon, would it change its alignment? Should he get the body of a younger/older dragon, would its stats change accordingly? Should it get the body of a different magical creature, would it retain any of its non-body-related dragon abilities (spell-like abilities, cold subtype...)?
3) How do the penalties translate to a creature with no class levels? Does the dragon only get a -2 penalty to everything until it recieves a Restoration spell?
4) Let's assume the dragon change its alignment due to its new body (whether immediately or through roleplay over a long period of time). What happens if it recieves a Wish/Miracle spell to reverse the body change? Does it immediately go back to its original alignment or does it take time to change back, if at all?
All in all, looks like Reincarnation wasn't meant to be used on non-party-members (On non-humanoids, no doubt). Very thanks.
We know he had a bit of a fiasco with trying to assassinate Nocticula and that he's been afraid to do anything since, but with her being a god, she shouldn't have time to worry about him.
So, are we going to see an epic quest to recover the shards of his broken quarterstaff? Is the rumor he's trying to "defect" to a LE infernal duke (not unlike his sister) true?
Who knows.
From Erastil's entry in the "Deities" section of the 2e playtest rulebook:
Quote:
Old Deadeye is god of family, farming, hunting, and trade. Long ago he was a horned god of the hunt, but his worship evolved to focus on rural communities.
Emphasis mine.
From the Wikipedia page "Cernunnos":
Quote:
Cernunnos is the conventional name given in Celtic studies to depictions of the "horned god" of Celtic polytheism.
Emphasis mine.
Is it just me?
Both have antlers, a stag theme and use a bow. This can't be a coincidence.
Does anyone know of a way to kill an entire army of about four hundred mooks within a few minutes max? Access to 9th level druid, cleric and sorcerer/wizard spells, if neccessary.
While you could obviously just throw an ancient white dragon on your poor players, wouldn't it be way more fun if it were an unassuming critter that turns out to be really strong? Like, high double digit CR strong?
Imagine this. Your players are walking through an orphanage (it is probably Shivaska's child prison because they're high-level and all, but whatever) when suddenly they hear a terrible pluck sound, followed by a high pitched scream and the buzzing of a pair of diminutive wings. Being well versed veterans they immediatly assume (correctly) that it is a tooth fairy and, being mythic veterans, shrug it off and go on helping that poor child. What they don't know, however, is that this is The Tooth Fairy (with a capital T) - Shivaska's personal pet who is a 20th level rogue and very, very fond of mythic teeth.
Or how about this. The players, traumatized but alive, are now walking through some forest (maybe to request the favor of a dryad or something) when they hear steps on the forst floor. As soon as they see three small canine faces they recognize the pugwampi, the ultimate stall troll (at least for 3rd level mooks, that is. They are mythic heroes). Knowing the aura of failure that surrounds these guys they refrain from doing anything that involves luck such as attacking them, preferring to utilize no-save spells. However, they find that even seemingly luckless tasks tend to fail (they can't seem to remember where they've put the spell component pouch, someone sneezed during the spell and they missed the last syllable) - all because these are the actualy the three advisors of the local Glaistig, who is known to despise trespassers.
Hi guys!
Currently rolling up a new character for an upcoming campaign, and I need help on two things:
1) What bloodline is going to fit a rainbow oriented sorcerer? Fey seems like a decent choice flavor wise but the spells and abilities just don't fit the concept. There's a fantastic bloodline called hyperborean that's basically perfect but sadly it's 3pp.
2) What rainbow spells exsit other than the prismatics (spray, wall, sphere...), that are all very high level? Spells like disintegrate are also cool because the ray itself is colored (green in this case).
Thankies!
With the new book of the damned came, among other things, three sets of boons for the demon lords. In Socothbenoth's third evangelist boon, it says:
Quote:
you can cast polymorph any object as a spell-like ability. Unlike with the spell, you are not limited to existing forms; you could turn the target into a three-headed nymph or a centaur-like creature made only of human body parts, for example (although this does not apply to inanimate forms, such as turning a human into a sculpture of soft clay or vice versa).
So, how do the stat adjustment and new abilities work? For the three headed nymph, for example, would you get three bite attacks? Would it key off of fey form? Can you turn into specific individuals? Is there a size limit?
Although Paizo has consistently published 5 dragons of a new type with each bestiary, it doesn't seem like people are using them with anything other than the odd rift dragon BBEG or something. So, what do you guys think on things like a half- lunar dragon template or a sorcerer with the sovereign dragon bloodline?
Hi there folks,
I'm currently looking to eventualy make the entire Paths of Prestige as a source for PCGen. I'm starting with the mammoth rider (no particular reason) and since I don't have a large coding experience, I have a few coding questions:
1) How do I make the Gigantic Steed ability make the animal huge? Is it just "SIZE:H"?
2) How do I affect the animal companion?
is how you make a pc have large-sized martial weapon damage, no idea how to make it apply to animal companions and natural weapons.
3) How do I make "only really big animal companion[there's a list]" a preq?
Thank you all very much. I am flagging this in case it's the wrong forum, though.
I happened to own a copy of both the Book of the Damned 2 and Chronicle of the Righteous. One thing I found absent from the latter and exiting in the former is the demonic ritual (or it's celestial equivalent, anyway). So what if I'm a devout worshipper of Cernunos and my dream is to transform into a cervinal agathion and hunt devils with him for the rest of eternity?
So let's do some homebrew, shall we:
Shamelessly copying almost exactly the steps to demonhood, I (or rather, Book of the Damned 2) came up with four steps.
1) First you choose an Empyreal Lord to worship - they should be of the celestial type you wish to end up as. Then, for a year, you have to continuously perform acts of goodness and kindness as appropriate to you celestial mentor. At the end of that year, your alignment shifts to that of you mentor. Even if you are already the right alignment, this step is still necessary in order to attract an Empyreal patron.
2) At some point during the second year, you must contact you patron using either the spells commune or contact other plane. The patron must then be noted of your desire to transform into a celestial - the spell cannot be used to ask any other questions. After this is complete, but before the year has passed, you must burn an item of significance to you in a temple desecrated to that patron. This item should not be a living person - we are good guys, after all. You need to make a DC 20 knowledge(religion) check in order to make the sacrifice correctly. If the item is also of importance to your chosen patron, the DC drops to 10 (making even someone not trained in this skill capable of making it). Once the sacrifice has been made, you permanently receive the benefits of a celestial ritual of mortification.
3) at some point after the first ritual is completed, but not always after the second is, the patron sends you a vision of a task that you must complete. This task is often of importance to the patron, and one that you have no hope of completing before you get more powerful. You must maintain your weekly devotion to your patron (making acts of kindness to strangers and praying in the appropriate temple are popular options). Once the task is completed, you will need to make a special ritual of honor to you patron - you must make a shrine to them, made with materials to honor your patron. In order to make it correctly, you need to make a DC 30 knowledge(religion) check, with a +1 bonus for each cleric of the religion helping you make it. When you successfully build the shrine, you will be permanently given the half-celestial template.
4) for most, the half-celestial template is enough. But for some who want to take it even further, there exists a fourth ritual. Each year after completing the third ritual, you must conduct a ceremony at that exact date, honoring your patron in a way appropriate to it. After that, you must make a DC 40 knowledge(religion) check, with a comulative +1 bonus per each such ceremony conducted. Once you succeed, you become a full-fledged celestial - you immediately lose the benefits of you previous race as well as the half fiend template, but can apply all your class levels to your new celestial race (for example, an elf ranger 10 can become a lilend ranger 10).
So, what do you think? Do you even think this sort of thing happens (a mortal deciding it wants to become a celestial)?
PD
Okay, so we all know the Brute archetype for the vigilante sucks, and pretty badly so - every time you get into a stressful situation (including but not limited to starting combat) you need to make a will save or go berserk.
What's the DC for the will save, you ask?
20 + 1/2 you level, duh.
I challenge you to be able to make this save. Bonus point if you can do it from all the way to level 20 and a cookie if you can do it from level 1.
a homebrew mythic campaign I'm going to run has to do with the redemption of various entities, the most notable of which is the demon lord Nocticula. And I'm wondering - how will she look like as the CN goddess of artists, outcasts and the glories of midnight?
The current look is just too demonic - bat wings, lava hooves, THREE TAILS for crying out loud. Also the color scheme is off with all that black and red.
Please help me.
Hi there folks!
I'm currently working on a shifter guide and I have run into some questions I need answered, please.
-how do forms with "if you already have (insert sense type) x or more, increase it by y" interact with other forms (minor with respective major or evenother aspects entirely) that grant that form of vision?
-how does the stag's enhancement bonus to movement speed interact with other major forms' incrased base speed?
-the monkey major form states you can "still use your hands to wield weapons(...)". do your weapons grow with you or do they meld into your body regularly?
-with all wild shapes that give you a modified version of an existing animal, do you adjust ability scores and natural attacks acordingly or do you only adjust what is stated to be adjsted (e.g. "Your shape changes to that of a Tiny mouse (as per the dire rat, but with a space of 2-1/2 feet and a reach of 0 feet)")
-can you use feats that you get from various major forms to qualify for other feats?
-how does the level 15 wolverine major form ability ("you are no longer fatigued at the end of your rage") react with furious finish ("If you do, your rage immediately ends, and you are fatigued (even if you would not normally be)")
thank you all very much,
PD
I know everyone is secretly waiting for an unchained version, but for the time being - has anyone written a Treantmonk-y guide to the Shifter class?
None on the sticky class guides thread, but there may be ones I'm not aware of.
Please?
Okay, so after 5 minutes of me trying to spell the name of this beast, let's see what you can do about it.
It, for those of you who don't know, is a CR 30(!) colossal outsider with a CMD of over 100 (107 against trip, to be exact) and I happen to want to trip him.
Problem is, I don't know how. Halp?
Level 20, mythic 10, everything paizo, nothing 3pp.
PD
What classes do you guys think would work in a 5 man party consisting entirely of them?
Druid was my first thought - melee is easy, face is tougher but possible, they can heal pretty well, and have amazing utility and battlefield control.
Fighter, for example, won't work - a face fighter is bassically useless. Plus, no spells means no easy ways out AND no healing.
Okay, so a little background:
I have a core only GM. Ever before we've switched from 3.5 to pathfinder, he was notorious for not letting ANYTHING from any book that isn't the core rulebook (or PG and DMG in 3.5). At one point, a groupie of mine asked him to play an alchemist. His response was, basically, that any base class is just a refluffed tweaked core class. Which got me thinking - what if we could make ANY base class using only core material (classes, feats, archetypes...)?
So I started brainstorming. A gunslinger is easy - just give a fighter firearm proficiency. Sure, he won't get Dex to damage with them, but the idea is still there. How about a witch? Make your wizard "unable" role play wise to be unable to cast spells without his familiar, and specialize in a school similar to your desired patron. But how about a summoner? Sure, a summoning sorcerer with an outsider-ish bloodline (efreeti, celestial...) could do the job, but there's nothing REMOTELY similar to an eidolon in core classes. Or the magus? A plain ol' eldritch knight won't do the trick until class level 10.
In short, I wonder if you guys could help me think of creative, core way of making the base classes.
For my new character I was thinking of a LN whip specialized Kuthite warpriest. Thing is, being LN (no evil allowed in my DM's campaign), I wanted to focus more on using pain and torture to extract information. Don't you think it's a little more evil than intended?
I was thinking slashing grace + merciful enchantment to make them pass out, then torture all the information I can from them.
Halp me.

Crushing Coils (Ex)
A constricted creature must succeed two DC 42 Fortitude save or lose consciousness for 1d8 rounds. A creature who fails his save also has to make another save or be affected by suffocation (DC 27), CL 28th. The save DC is Strength-based.
Crystal Sharp (Ex)
Andirfkhu's tail is covered with sharp scales, making it deal slashing damage and deliver her poison.
Master Illusionist (Ex)
Andirifkhu is immune to all spells and effects of the illusion school. Every such spell's DC within 30 ft. of her is increased by 4.
Multiweapon Mastery (Ex)
Andirifkhu never takes penalties to her attack roll when fighting with multiple weapons.
Poison (Ex)
Tail slap, kukri, longswords or scythe—injury; save Fort DC 39; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d6 Constitution drain. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Reality Bending Aura (Su)
Unlike many demon lords, Andirifkhu doesn’t possess a frightful presence ability. Rather, every creature within 30 ft. of her has to make a will saving throw (DC 37) or lose its immunity to illusions. The save DC is charisma-based.
Sadist (Ex)
Every time Andirifkhu deals slashing damage to a target, she can add 2d4 point of bleed damage. Every time she is hit by a slashing weapon, her regeneration is increased by 2d4 points for 1 round (this effect does not stack with itself).
True Infuse Weapon (Su)
Any weapon Andirifkhu wields gains a +3 enhancement bonus as well as the unholy enchantment, and is treated as being cold iron and evil for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
critiques are welcomed. Sla's, feats and skills are intentionally left out.
Sooo... My 16th level druid just rolled a nat 1 on his Fort save against disintegrade. 40d6 in my face.
I've came up with a concept for a fat, human paladin wielding a lance called "The North Pole" with a red-nosed megaloceros (giant elk) mount. So basically, Santa.
I do plan on multi classing into cavalier, problem is I don't know how many levels to take, which feats to give Rudolph (my mount) and so on.
Help?
Ok my upcoming high level homebrew campaign that I will be DMing, i want my players to eventually fight and defeat the demon princess andirifkhu. I know I could just eyeball it or make it a cinematic, but that's not really my style. I pretty much NEED to stat her.
Problem is, I don't know where to begin.
Actually, that's a lie. Obviously the first step to statting something is getting a concept and a rough idea of the abilities it is going to have. What do I do next? Ability scores? SLAs? Special attacks?
Long story short I need help.
Thx.

So I've been fiddling with a the concept above for a while now, problem is I want it to wield weapons (I know it's not the best optimization wise but it fits my concept). Evolutions are clear - quadrupedal with two sets of extra legs, three sets of arms and weapon proficiency. Any feat advice? Should I go finesse or strength based? Specicific weapons?
Thanksies in advance,
Title says it all. One spell, everything paizo allowed. My best:
Sorcerer 20, fey bloodline on dominate monster.
10 +9 +13 Charisma (18 +2 race +5 levels +5 inherent +6 headband) +2 G. Spell focus(enchantment) +2 spell perfection +2 fey = 38. Enough to dominate a Balor 65% of the time. You any better?
By the way, I really miss minmax Mondays. Let's bring em back!
When a summoner with greater eldritch heritage(abyssal[added summoning]) summons fiendish/ demon monsters with summon monster spell-like ability, does he summon double the amount? How about the eidolon(see quotes)? And with the summon eidolon spell?
I'm asking because augment summoning, which specificly applies to summon spells, applies also to the summon monster ability of the summoner.
quotes:
summon monster SLA wrote:
Starting at 1st level, a summoner can cast summon monster I as a spell-like ability...Drawing upon this ability uses up the same power as the summoner uses to call his eidolon.
augment summoning wrote:
each creature you conjure with any summon spell gains a +4 enhancement bonus to Strength and Constitution for the duration of the spell that summoned it.
andrew bets wrote:
Can Augment Summoning also affect monsters summoned through this Spell-Like Ability?
Yes
abyssal bloodline wrote:

Does a crossblooded sorcerer(draconic + x) qualify for dragon disciple?
It says that if you're a sorcerer you must have the draconic bloodline, though it never says it can be your ONLY bloodline nor anything about compatibility with other archetypes.
?
As a follow up for the "Who's your favorite empyreal lord" thread(which my disapproval of has nothing to do with my recent affair with Rysky), who's your favorite demo lord?
Mine is nocticula (for obvious reasons). Three tails is just enough tails, yo.
For those of you who don't know, Cernunnos(stats) is the the empyreal lord of fertility, seasons and wild animals. The fact that he appears in the bestiary and is CR 30(aka not a deity) made his absence from the Chronicle of the Righteous was very noticeable. Since I am unable to find his obedience and boons anywhere (including the pathfinder wiki, D20PFSRD and the archives of nethys), am I doing something wrong? And if none were officialy released by paizo, how would one go about homebrewing their own(slipping into homebrew teritory, I know)?
Say I, an 8th level Druid, wild shape into a mastodon. My party member john knows I like this form a lot, so he equips me with tusk blades:
1)What happens after I polymorph back to human? Do the tusks disappear, drop on the ground or size down to my size?
2) Assuming they disappear, what happens if I wild shape again to a mastodon? Do they reappear? Where are they stored?
Sup you guys. So in response to a thread about a guy wanting to play a marilith style character (Who's name I can't remember ATM), I decided to take matters to my own hands and make a class just for that purpose (probably preparing for the day I will have to homebrew my own campain).
With that in mind, I am glad to present you (drum roll):
Marilith Class!!!1
Too good? Too weak? You tell me!
Hi there. So, if I understand feral combat training correctly, you can use a natural weapon you have weapon focus in with any feat that has unarmed strike as a prerequisite, and if you're a monk, you can use it in a flurry. Sooooo... monk x Druid 8 with bite weapon focus, improves nat attakc and strong jaw on a behemoth hippo, can flurry for (4d8>6d6>)12d6 plus 1-1/2 strength? Seems like a whole lot o' damage, since a 12th level monk has 5 flurry attacks, it's more damage than the ever-so-famous bitezilla( same hippo with improved vital strike). Any reason why it never shows up?
I have a level 16 druid. He just got a mythic tier. help.
stats are 16 14 16 14 25 10(rolled after racial and level) pure druid.
now, hierophant is a given but it seems more cleric channel forcus.
help?

So I was scrolling through some sorcerer spells and noticed in the Form of the dragon III entry that you gain
Quote:
immunity to one element (of the same type form of the dragon I grants resistance to)
The only difference(as far as resistances are concerned, at FotD I) between the Red and Gold dragon is that red gets resist fire 30 and cold vulnerability, while gold gets fire resist 20 and no vulnerabilty.
If both resistances turn to immunity at FotD III anyway, why pick Red (except fluff)?
