Jon nods in acknowledgement to Duraz, placing his hand on Duraz's shoulder in return. "And i wish you well too, miracle worker. I will give one important piece of advice before i leave........" The pause lasts several seconds, before he gives it. "... Don't die ..." He gives one last look among the other party members. To Mirianna "I wish i could have seen you dance more..." Alurad, Thilla and Singol he wasn't sure what else to say. Each with their own unique skills. He gives each a firm handshake before he is off. I can't tell what became of Alurad... Other than IRL stuff keeping him busy. I'm sure it will get figured out

Jon sits quietly with the group up until meeting the elf; And the talk of even more glorious adventures, including a winged magical creature as likely the next adventure. It sounded interesting, fun even. But after barely surviving recently with the grimlocks in the caves, and still rather new to this group his heart didn't feel in it just yet. Even so, fighting for the one lady's honor in a duel still sounded like something he'd have enjoyed doing. But this set of recent adventures didn't feel like his calling... Not yet. Not with other obligations to be met. "I must apologize." he says suddenly addressing the group and standing up. "While we haven't known eachother long, and have fought against rats, undead and blind monstrosities in the caves, I am not sure i can stay with you for the remainder of your journey now that we are safely here. So i think i shall disembark by myself." John gives a sigh, maybe of relief, something off his shoulders, a nagging that had been with him since they were fighting in the caves. He'd tried to be a shield, and multiple party members had still fallen. He also had almost fallen, save for divine magic that had healed and beating a hasty retreat with their unconscious comrades. Reaching down he undoes from his belt the magic +1 sword they'd gotten earlier putting it on the table, sheathed as it was. "It would feel wrong if i kept this" under his breath he adds as nice a blade as it is. "Perhaps when my own issues are resolved and i am better prepared, I might join up again." Jon stands, giving a slight bow to the group he'd been with shortly overall, placing a few coins also down to pay for his drink and meal before heading out.

I remember in a game we saw the difference between a 1st and 2nd level fighter (in party drama/fighting). 2nd level always won (and it was the 1st level repeatedly picking the fight too). If we were holding ourselves fairly well all things considered, 2nd level characters hopefully could handle it. But i'm fine with whatever for now.

Unless Marianna gives a better idea of what to do, this is my planned action "Try not to die..." He tells Singol. Jon steps a few feet into the passage way he hears grimlocks coming from to block the path, pulls out the javelins and rope. Then throws the rope 10 feet in front of him hoping to make it spread out a bit and make a make-shift snare to entangle/trip one or both grimlocks. Jon then readies himself to throw the javelins when they are in sight until they are within melee range.

With the Grimlock down and it not immediately easy to reach the other he looks down the passage that the other grimlocks would likely be going. "Anyone got any caltrops?" I wonder if going in 10 feet and spreading out some rope for them to get tangled in would qualify enough as a trap to help out...

Jon winces a bit in pain, the Grimlock having managed to get past his armor. Jon intended to get full plate at some point in the future; Still this being the first time he'd gotten hurt in the flurry of short fights since they arrived here to deal with vermin. Jon holds still letting Duraz look over and attempt to bandage or manage the wound in magical or mundane ways. "Thank you... I think i need more armor." he comments to himself. Thankfully he wasn't profusely bleeding (it could have also just been a large bruise as much as a simple cut). So far Jon was fairly impressed with the new magic sword they'd found.

"Well, THAT Was exciting..." Jon says, feels at this point it's silly to sheath a sword since every few minutes since they've arrived they've had a scuffle with bats, rats, and a ghost now, each one lasting less than a minute. But more importantly everyone seemed to be mostly unscathed. Jon looks to Alurad and Duraz. "Do you think there will be any other ghosts?"

Surprise shows on Jon's face, he was expecting the scuffle to last... well... just a little longer than one spear throw. It was just as well, afterall no one put in prolonged danger. Putting the javelin(s) away he attaches them to a few cords on his backpack, so he could pull them off should he need ranged weaponry. Not the best solution but would work for the moment. "If no one else needs the sword I'll take it. At least for now" With the magic sword that would mean Jon now had 4 weapons. One magical sword, one normal sword, and two spears. Hardly a walking armory though.

Jon puts his sword away accepting the Javelins. "I can certainly try..." he eyes where the mushroom is, makes a few motions similar to throwing to make sure he had the room and won't do something stupid like hit someone near him or a wall. About as ready as he's going to be, and seeing Thilla preparing the fight hopefully would be swift and uneventful. He could hope.

Jon seeing they are ready to go again redraws his sword, then opens the trap door with shield up to block anything that might immediately spring out. Being as defensive as possible for the time being Should nothing happen, he will slowly take the lead on the way down, checking to see if some of the steps feel weak or broken (and certainly hoping he doesn't tumble down)

His longsword was ill suited for close quarters and underground combat, as such he put his sword away for now and looked over the trapdoor for anything that might stand out as suspicious. Spot: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Regardless Jon wasn't about to attempt to open it until everyone was ready to proceed, and seeing Duraz checking the barrel out, he waits.

Spot check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Nope... one reason i'm not a fan of fighters Jon looks in the room, though the likelihood of him finding anything is lower than most of the party. He takes a few moments to wipe his blade but doesn't sheath it, keeping it ready at his side. "You said cold iron would be better on the fey? Anyone got something i can use instead? Or..." he looks to Alurad "Don't suppose you could do something? Seeing as you can do magic."

At word of the fey creature Jon was uncertain he could do anything against the magical being just yet. Perhaps need to look for backup weapons later. Jon draws his weapon moving to one side of the door and holds his action, to attack any of the rats that may come to the bottleneck of the doorway. entering seems silly with a perfectly good bottleneck here. If someone else decides they want to enter, change that to him following to try and guard/prevent flanking.

"Plague bats...." Now THAT didn't sound good.... "Unless we have something to better our chances of resisting anything i'll give this important advice..." and pauses a few seconds. ".... don't get bit..." Jon glances at Singol who had been bit/hit by the rats already. While he got healing, if he was infected or the like it might not show for hours. But until something happened or everyone wanted to quit Jon wasn't about to up and leave. His own skill had been less than stellar so far against mere vermin. Looking to Thilla he says "I'll take the lead if that makes you feel better. I think we have more to worry about more rats and less about traps here."

"Sorry, probably overreacting..." he replied his hand relaxing at his side again. He was slightly more worried of potentially dangerously large predators that were feral. But bats, well they wouldn't be here if there were giant spiders probably. Jon meets up to where Alurad is at the wooden door.

Jon follows with everyone else, taking a glance in the stables. Is not the best one for finding interesting finds or traps... With the last rat taken care of, Jon takes a few seconds to clean his blade off before resheathing it, and turning his attention to Singol who got injured, quite obvious from the way he cursed just a few seconds ago. "And... this is why i had a preference for skeletons to vermin... Are you doing okay? Should probably get that cleaned in a hurry" Jon pulled his backpack off, pulling out some water to help clean the bite, it would help but wouldn't be as good as someone actually skilled at first aid or real healing. heal (untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 Jon's current limited inventory wasn't very well equipped for managing wounds of any kind, but a clean wound was far better than a dirty or infected one.
