Alurad Sorizan |

Alurad moves closer to the group and lowers his voice. “If we are planning for all of us to go I would say we should let Jon take the lead, he seems like he can take a hit. If we want someone to just scout and report back then only one or two of us should go. Mirianna and maybe our halfling friend Singol?”

Duraz watches Singol sip the medicine and as he goes ahead to scout, he tries to warn him Watch out for loud burps!, but it seems to be too late.

right stand a pair of rickety wooden staircases that lead
up to a catwalk some 10 feet above the floor. In front of
you is a building with a door and a closed, shuttered
window opening on its west side. Next to the building
on the west side is a row of several walled compartments
that look as though they were once used as
stables.
what do you do?

Mirianna Tangier |

Mirianna shakes her hear, "No, I fear we'd be getting too far ahead- better to get everyone together before we proceed."

Alurad Sorizan |

Alurad move ahead with the party. He looks over the stables, to see if there is anything wtihin. spot: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Not finding anything useful for Shadow, he continues onward.
Spot: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Arriving at the wooden door, he waits for the rest of the party to continue. And preferably someone less squishy to go first.

Duraz enters the stables and takes a quick look.

Jon follows with everyone else, taking a glance in the stables. Is not the best one for finding interesting finds or traps...
Spot (stables): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Pauses noting the webbing, his hand pausing at his sword while pondering.
How big is the webbing? Like normal spiderwebs or for say a large spider?
Spot: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 (just shy, Doh!)

As Jon stops Duraz both notice that the stables are full of webs and happen to glance up at the rafters near the catwalk and notice there are some bats sleeping in the shadowed under hang underneath the catwalks. It's day so they're noctural Neither notice any giants spiders around.

![]() |

"Sorry, probably overreacting..." he replied his hand relaxing at his side again.
He was slightly more worried of potentially dangerously large predators that were feral. But bats, well they wouldn't be here if there were giant spiders probably.
Jon meets up to where Alurad is at the wooden door.

Duraz follows Jon's lead and relaxes. He is still nervous, though, as he approaches and opens the wooden door.
It seems to be stuck, he says. He gets ready and tries to force through the door.

K-Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
I made the dice roll incase Jon mentions what he saw...
I tried to look up Bakkas or Plague Bats and came up with nothing. If Jon does mention the bats to Alurad, could you share what Alurad would know about them? He would share the info with the group.

Michael Lyons 953 |
Seeing the webs, Singol steps back towards Jon and Duraz.
"Okay, just bats. Those webs don't look bigger than they should be, right?"
When Duraz and Jon move to the door, Singol will follow them. He'll stay back from the door and off to one side. A dagger is in his hand in case he needs a quick ranged weapon.

"Okay, just bats. Those webs don't look bigger than they should be, right?"
"Don't think so. If there's bats there... there's probably just normal spiders there. Just feeling a little jumpy." Jon replies to Singol.
"Anyways, let's go on in..."

Alurad Sorizan |

At the mention of bats Alurad furrows his brow with the internal frustration of missing something. He moves to take a look at the mentioned bats. After he gets a good look at the bats he moves quietly towards the party and tells them what he knows in a hushed tone. Using my K-Arcana from before on the bats.
“Those bats are known as Bakkas, or more commonly known as plague bats. We might want to be in and out of this place before it gets dark and those things come out to feed.”
Looking around at the location of the sun in the sky Alurad tries to figure out about what time of day it is. K-Nature Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

"Plague bats...." Now THAT didn't sound good....
"Unless we have something to better our chances of resisting anything i'll give this important advice..." and pauses a few seconds. ".... don't get bit..."
Jon glances at Singol who had been bit/hit by the rats already. While he got healing, if he was infected or the like it might not show for hours. But until something happened or everyone wanted to quit Jon wasn't about to up and leave. His own skill had been less than stellar so far against mere vermin.
Looking to Thilla he says "I'll take the lead if that makes you feel better. I think we have more to worry about more rats and less about traps here."

Mirianna Tangier |

"Plague bats? I'm sure that's just a name, right?"
Mirianna nods to Jon, more than willing to let him lead the way, keeping her rapier drawn but falling into the middle or back of the line.

Singol of the Black Mesa |

"Plague bats? That ain't good. How many of them are there?"
Singol risks a second look at the stables.
"How far away do they fly from home?"
Looking at Alurad.
Singol, dagger still in hand, will move to the middle of the line, ready to move up if something needs to be searched.

At word of the fey creature Jon was uncertain he could do anything against the magical being just yet. Perhaps need to look for backup weapons later.
Jon draws his weapon moving to one side of the door and holds his action, to attack any of the rats that may come to the bottleneck of the doorway.
entering seems silly with a perfectly good bottleneck here. If someone else decides they want to enter, change that to him following to try and guard/prevent flanking.

Duraz sees the creatures and secretely wishes he had spent more time studying the creatures of the world. He takes Alurad's words for true, wondering how he would ever be able to afford such specific weaponry.
He takes a small parchment from a pouch, unrolls it and offers a prayer to the Stormlord. His hand glows white and he touches his chest with it and a glowing magical field surrounds his whole body, offering him protection. He stands in the door's exit in his low stance.
Move action: stay at the door's exit. Standard action: Cast Shield of Faith on self. New AC: 18

I definitely want to change my action. I want to move and attack the fey instead. Can I keep my roll?
sure! They fey is behind the rats though
Jon stands back up. Now with the rats closer he takes a swipe from his one spot near the door.
likely OOO standing up
the rats don't provoke cause they're tiny and you have cover from the wall
Thilla and Alurad can post actions for this round :) burning hands lol?

Swarms don't roll AoO iirc, so I'll just move through them and stand on the opposite side, so that AoE spells don't hit me

OK
Duraz's strike damages the fey a bit, it's skin turns back most of the thrust of the tip of his spear.
fairy 3 damage
