We're all a little discombobulated at the moment. I have no doubts that we'll learn to function better as a team, but I'm sure we're a handful at the moment with different characters taking different tactics. As in real life while Myl might have the experience to be the leader, she is not charismatic, and tends to delegate others to their more suitable tasks. Don't have an issue with making tough decisions, but will defer to those with more aptitude in particular tasks... short of outright evil acts.

Back! Yes. Let me know if we're taking a long rest. If so Myl would only use one of the rerolled HD just in case there were boogies in the night. Myl meditates for a while in the quiet beneath the baths, then silently watches over the others as they sleep. "They sleep with no guilt. How? She discusses how long she should let them sleep with anyone else on watch before deciding that a little extra rest never hurt anyone. Unless others wake up and decide otherwise she'll allow everyone the extra sleep.

I like this. I believe the 2d20 system has something much like this, but the "complication" varied depending upon what you were doing. For example failing a jump/Athletics check might twist your ankle, and you're -5' movement for the day. I know that complicates things, so I'd be Okay with the Exhaustion rule. I get very frustrated when the plot is taken over with bad dice rolls. BTW thanks for the botting. Next week is a long trade show, but things should return to more normal after that.

Myl should have started the combat at full HP. She used her Second Wind ability, and with the previous healing should have started full up. Did she take more than 7 this round? (Post on 7/19) Standing in shock for just a moment, then her soldier instincts take over and Myl advances on the flaming idiot and strikes forth with her fine elven weapon.

Sorry guys. Work is slamming me at the moment. "I have often thought that the only good necromancer is a "permanently" dead one". Then Myl hears the snick of the secret door. "Ah. Myl knows that sneaking and ambushing are not her strength, so she lets the more light-footed members of her crew take the initiative on the ambush. Moving slowly and trying to make as little noise as possible, she is delighted to see the results of Donal's foray were positive. Myl is conflicted at her charges splitting up, but also understands that too firm a fist only damages what you hold. Myl is encouraged with the growing teamwork of the group. Considering the loot she has a suggestion. I don't need a full share at this time... just enough to keep fed, so I would be willing to contribute say... 30 GP of my share to a group equipment fund". She nods her head at Mal's information. "Good to know". "I guess we don't have any need for a ship at this time. Perhaps the goodwill of letting him live might prove to be valuable".

Vanni's hands are sweating, and her nerves are on edge as she and the remainder of her... yes her squad make their way to the tavern. Things are happening so fast. I prayed to be given the opportunity to lead my own squad, but after being passed over so many times I must not fail. Then upon arrival all her squad wander off doing their own things without consulting their leader. She started to speak up then remembered the words of Sgt. Glifnak, one of her most veteran trainers. Keep your dogs on a leash, but let them run out their leads. You never know what they're capable of if you leash them to tightly". She decides to observe and catalog the strengths and weaknesses of her charges instead of putting down the steel of her gauntlet, and the weight of her authority. She first watches the halfling rogue. That one is used to doing things his way. Might need to learn that he needs to learn to work with others. She then looks at the flirting Human barbarian / cook. Interesting dichotomy there. Seems to have a most hedonistic attitude towards all of life. Be interesting to see how he holds up when the arrows start flying. Not going to count on him to be the best at keeping an eye on things. She then observes the other professional warrior in the group. That one knows how to play the game. he's waiting to gather the mood of the room before playing his cards. Perhaps I'll sit with him and enjoy my ale and observe as well. Might be a good second as he understands military protocol and order. Walking towards Donal's table he then observes the Priest, and his discomfort with the entire situation. I almost feel pity for that one. He's going to be out of his element most of the time... but sometimes it's not bad to have an alternative view of things. Perhaps I can help him understand the sacrifices necessary, and he can keep us at least a bit morally aligned. He then looks around for the Dragon blooded Sorcerer and sees him nowhere in sight. Still need to figure that one out. Perhaps it's best he not be plainly visible... still I need to have communication with him as to where he is, and what he's doing. Vanni sits at the table with the other warrior, and raises her glass in a toast. "To chaotic order and our fortunes".

What has happened. Why has the world gone to hell in a handbasket. It was a simple distraction to mask Liara's arrival into Baldur's Gate, but now there seemed to be an upheaval going on, and it looked like she could be held responsible... it was her plan. Oh well might as well go to Wyrm's crossing and face the music... this was going to hurt. Then it was back to town to find and join up with Captain Zodge... would this day never end. Mylivanni Backstory: * Mylivanni's elven parents ran a popular flower shop in Baldur's Gate. It was burned to the ground when she was an infant. A young soldier in the employee of the Flaming Fist was investigating the arson (Never proven???) and found the infant Elven child. He kept her, and along with his sister, and they raised her. She worshiped her father, and tried to be just like him. * As she got older the Flaming Fist tried to keep her from combat. In secret she trained with any willing, but they were hesitant to put her in harms way, so usually left her out of any dangerous situations. * She had a fascination with books and adventure, so to keep her young mind active she was charged with building a small library at Wyverns Rock. * As her abilities became more apparent she was assigned to guard the Flaming Fist ambassador to Chult, so spent much time between Baldur's Gate and Port Nyanzaru. * She made friends... with Coran the elven rogue / dashing stranger, and spent time with him when possible... though she never understood his relationship and friendship with Xan. * She had just returned to BG from her last duty in Chult, and was in the Cliffside Cemetery laying flowers on her families graves when news reached her to report immediately to the fortress at Wyvern's Rock for an emergency. She is on her way.

About Trevor86I'm a thirty-ish (vague because it makes me feel younger!) physician from Europe. I grew up on the Baldur's Gate games along with the Super Nintendo RPG classics (Chrono trigger, Lufia, etc) and have been hooked on RPG's ever since. I started playing tabletop RPG's with 3.5 but it was a bit too complicated for a group of 14-15 year olds like us to really grip beyond a base level. I moved to D&D 4e from there and then to pathfinder when it became more popular around here and 4e died. Since I was working then and had the income to support it, I frequently travelled between Germany, England and the Netherlands for the weekend-long pathfinder conventions. I would have done this more often but had to skip last year due to becoming a dad and this year due to Covid-19. Having played most of the later seasons of PFS and halfway through one AP, I consider myself decently experienced in pathfinder first edition but not overly so. I still occasionally make a mistake here and there and keep learning from them. I'm not into rule-lawyering and try to avoid arguments about the rules at all costs. They tend to sour the experience for at least 1 person at the table. On PBP, I'm fairly new and have only started doing this around 1.5 years ago. My first experience there was a bit rough since I had to try and get a grasp of things in the middle of a level 15/mythic tier 6 campaign that went pretty wild pretty fast! When the GM stopped there, I paused for six months and came back afterwards. Now, I am in 9 active campaigns and I'd like to think there's room to grow :) Give me more of those amazing stories and adventures! On posting, I post at least once per day and try to make reactive and engaging (and hopefully amusing at times!) posts, following the stickied PBP guides and commendments on the forum as best as I can. If you want to check those out to get an idea of my posting style, the aliases are Sorogar, Raesilia, Aradesh, Swaggy, Ammon, Elliot, Elena, Fiora and Elrys. Generally, I try to avoid one-liner posts and try to include at least one or two things someone after me could react to. |
