There's always interest in Rappan Athuk. Case in point: around 6 months ago, someone initiated a similar thread, and around a half-dozen people (myself included) waited diligently until recently when RL stuff came up and the GM wasn't able to begin recruitment. I can almost guarantee you'll have close to a dozen interested parties by this time tomorrow - including me. :-)

By your post then this will be a recruitment. the character creation guideline should be posted up tomorrow. This will be a one post a day if not more since this is a heavy combat related game. I was thinking about 6 lvl 4 pc's max gold and 20 point buy. I might increase it but I will think more about it tomorrow.

As I mentioned in a PM: I'd be heavily interested in this game as I hope to run it in four or five months (Once a month live game) when I've more time on my plate. I've got the time to play a PBP (Running one is a bit more work, though.)

Ugh. Lame. Retract that. I was quite tired when I submitted my interest last night. My interest is very, very high but as I said, I intend on playing this adventure and in four or five months we won't be far enough to justify my inclusion. Once I start running it I will have too much knowledge of the terrain to find it properly enjoyable at pbp pace. The slot I might fill would be better served by another player.

this thing is a meat grinder. Have you considered using mythic rules?
That is always a consideration depending on how the Role playing goes and the difficulty.

all classes are allowed but 3rd party stuff will need to be checked in with me. If you pick a eastern class or a class where items might be harder to obtain loot might be scarce for you.
No score below a 8, after racial adjustment.

No real alignment restrictions, except you must work well together seeing as how the game is extremely difficult.
Max HP’s level one and two, thereafter you roll HPs. Reroll 1’s.
No more than 50% in one item. Do not multi-class - yet.
Every character gets the innate ability to heal themselves 1d4+con modifier HP, 2/day, as a standard action.
If you get accepted remember to have a back up character at least an idea in your head just in case something happens and you can't revive him. I don't try to actively kill pc's but stuff happens especially with this campaign.

A character not from a dead campaign. Background is incomplete. Eidolon is unfinished.
Allose is an atypical Aasimar master summoner - a servant of Iomedae who trains celestials to fight on the martial plane in preparation for the "final war". His eidolon is a Couatl that sent him to Rappan Athuk because "it would be a good test for the troops". The Eidolon stays out of the way most of the time but can give advice (knowledge checks) to the summoner.

Azim grew and studied at the temple. He became good friends with a young girl there. Her name was Hana. She had hair orange as the sun. Her eyes green but seem to almost flicker as a flame would. The two grew close and even trained together as battle dancers. Azim didn't have the grace that Hana did, but was able to come into his own at the art.
Hana was a couple years ahead of Azim, and finished her training. The two didn't say goodbye. They simply told each other until we are together again. Hana was going to the worldwound as many from the temple have. Azim would follow and they would bring the fight to hell together.
Azim was very devout in his worship. Not long after Hana had left he started receiving visions. He knew these images to be Sarenra herself. She blessed him and told him he was destin to take up her mantle not only as a battle dancer, but also as a a paladin in her name. He would do this once joining the fight at the worldwound. As his training grew to and end he was strong both in faith and body. He was now ready to not only find Hana, but to accept his destiny.
Azim now finds himself in the city of Kenabres. He has been searching and asking for Hana for only a day. He has been to the local temple and learned Hana has not been seen for days now. He hold her spirit in his heart and has yet to think the worst. He has read the texts of Yaniel and knows his enemy. He now makes preparations to search for Hana more.

Alright cruch done for my skill monkey rogue all done, I don't know much about this dungeon so I bought a ton of gear, ready for anything.
Also DM, are you a straight up by the book combat, or can I use skills and items to help out?

And I'm finished. Let me know if there's any more background or motivational info you want. I have a minor quibble about his gear, but it's basically a matter of deciding whether I want to swap out his warhammer for a morningstar, or keep the warhammer and add a good piercing weapon, or just stand pat.

I am confused on your character. Are you a vampire or have you not altered that yet because the no con score high natural armor is confusing. I am not sure I will allow special templates unless they are CR + 0 but you will still have to check up on me.
