Liberty's Edge

A new era is beginning for the Pathfinder Society, with new recruits and new factions all excited to build connections and embark on grand adventures. The PCs are among these recruits invited to attend a welcoming party where they can meet both the old guard as well as the up-and-coming leaders. But the party's not all talk; the PCs learn of four exciting escapades in Absalom, through which they can kick off their adventuring careers!

This adventure's individual missions include numerous variations that make each play-through exciting and different.

To make my life easier when it comes to filling in chronicles, if you could each put in a single post with:

Chronicle: What chronicle number this is for the character
History: What scenarios has the character completed? (or been credited with); any other chronicles (special boons etc)
Name:(the player) real name (as you have it appear on your chronicle sheets)
AKA: Character name
Faction: Your faction slotted
PFS: # for the character
XP: starting XP, Note if Slow track!
Fame: Starting Fame
Gold: Starting wealth you bring into the adventure. This should be the total on your previous chronicle. If you want to buy any new stuff... see further on.
Downtime include the roll or that you don't have one. If you want to use a reroll at the end just note here you may want to use a reroll. If you don't include a roll I'll be assuming you take ten. Add the actual gold amount if you want to save me looking it up...
Spend: If you want to buy anything before the scenario starts (apart from your initial 150gp if you are a new character) include it here. This will appear in the "items bought" and/or "items sold" part of the chronicle.

Try to hold off actual discussion here until we have one post per character with those details (makes life easy for me to make the chronicles for you all at the end).

Please add an Icon for your character to the map. If you don't know how, let me know and I'll help. Also dot into the gameplay thread, or just hang around and RP there if you like.

So, I have run the Rose Street Revenge twice now, learning more things as we go (and I will need a cheat sheet, but that is going to be a process on it is own). However when reporting them on the Paizo site i noticed the following:

1. I have reported the players but I only get 3 PTP myself, believe this should be 4 (+1 as a GM).
2. When I reported this again I didn't get any PTP and it says now that I have ran it already and thus cannot get any points for it.

Is this a known issue? and if so, will I see the PTP's to be adjusted on the paizo website? because from my calculations it should be 10 now.

I also noted that there is no option to report Doomsday Dawn yet

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–4.

Although the Society was unaware of what existed within the false moon Salvation's End when it obtained exploration rights, Starfinders have since identified a vast, uncharted megacomplex within. The Society's ready to launch its first major expedition into the interior, yet there is one slight complication: in order to fund its initial survey missions, the Society accepted a grant that requires this first mission be televised by an Eoxian reality show. What is already be a momentous mission for the Society is only exacerbated by the mandatory presence of an unliving camera crew—not to mention the interference of the live studio audience in orbit! Can the PCs uncover the secrets of Salvation's End while upholding the Society's publicity deal (perhaps becoming celebrities in the process)?

Content in Live Exploration Extreme! is a continuation of the Starfinder Society special, Starfinder Society #1–00: Claim to Salvation.

With a new generation of Starfinders already accomplishing great deeds within the Pact Worlds and beyond, First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo is ready to announce the Starfinder Society's next initiative that will define her tenure. The PCs attend a gathering at the Lorespire Complex to socialize with several visiting dignitaries, each instrumental in the Society's survival following the Scoured Stars Incident. Nothing is as it seems, though, and when Radaszam, leader of the Acquisitives faction, uncovers a plot against the First Seeker, the PCs need to step in and ensure the Society's public event doesn't end in disaster!

Content in The First Mandate also contributes to the ongoing goals of the Acquisitives and Second Seekers (Luwazi Elsebo) factions. Content in this scenario also contributes to the ongoing Year of Scoured Stars storyline

Hi there! Welcome to the Starfinder scenario SFS 1-02 - Fugitive of the Red Planet which will start on or slightly after Aug 25, 2017 as part of PBP Gameday VI)

I first want to get the house rules out of the way so we have a common understanding. I assume you will have read this.

Please take notice of the following:

  • I expect everyone to be supportive of each other, we are exploring a new ruleset and I expect that we will make mistakes. That is no issue, as long as we keep the communication open.
  • I handle initiative in posting order.
  • I expect you to use the appropriate lines (Race, Classes / Levels and Gender) to give me vital information (AC, Saves etc) about your character. You can take a look at my aliases for a PFS example.
  • I attempt to post at least once a day during weekdays and at least once during the weekend. When I do not post: I have not forgotten about you, there were other things to do with my time that took priority.
  • For decision making purposes: when two characters agree on a course of action we will go with their decision.
  • And most important: this is a game and I expect us all to have fun while playing! If something causes you not to have fun: please address it (either here or in a PM) and I will do my utmost to get you back to having fun again.

Since the death of Venture-Captain Bakten Shengrah, New Oppara has been in mourning. The heavens echo the city’s grief, bestowing shrouds of inky storm clouds on the city, rolling down from the Zi Ha Mountains to the north. On orders from the Lantern Lodge, all local Pathfinders have cloistered themselves within the samsaran guru’s sanctuary, combing his libraries for clues that might explain the strange resuscitation of Bakten’s candle of conveyance, for none of the sages of Amanandar can explain how the candle still burns when Bakten’s soul has departed.

As the black clouds hurl blizzards from above, an unlikely source of aid appears at the sanctuary’s gates: an elderly elven noblewoman stumbles in, frostbitten and half-delirious. “I came to atone,” she cries, “Bakten was once Malash—a hero. But what was Malash next? That evil woman! I loathed her so. I thought she stole my love’s heart, and blamed her next life, Bakten, too! But if he knew nothing of his own veiled life?” Her ancient hands clutch a weather-beaten scroll case, as if it were a lifeline. “Tell me he is not dead, please!” She begs, “If Bakten is fallen, I fear the shrouded one may rise and doom us all!”

I have created ranks for regional coordinators / VC / VL and Venture Agents, if you are any of those, pm me with your forum handle so I can verify it and then give you the much needed rank.

What is the difference between Skype, Teamspeak and Discord?

gatherer818 wrote:

Skype is easy to use, but lacks in power and versatility (no volume control, poor control over your broadcasting, lackluster text chat options). It's also a resource hog, which is rather relevant if people are using a virtual tabletop program which might be competing for CPU and memory.

Teamspeak and the like are more powerful, with the ability to customize permissions for channels and set up your voice chat exactly how you want it, but has a learning curve and requires a user to either host the chat on their computer (which comes with connection and scaling issues) or rent a webserver (which is obviously not a great option financially).

Discord is.... perfect. It's slightly more setup than Skype, though still much easier to setup than Teamspeak. It uses a web-based server, so there's no issues with connection or rental fee - it can even be run directly from the website, if you're willing to sacrifice some customization power for more ease-of-use. Full, robust multi-channel text and voice support without all the hassle. I just wish I could get my friends using it - all it's lacking is a userbase.

I am going to try and work on getting a bot for the channel that can do the following:

- Post rss feeds of updates / blogs etc
- Do Dice rolls
- Look up scenario's and provide with a link to the Paizo webstore to look it up
- Use the Paizo PRD to look up the spells / feats (possible class links)

If you have any experience in programming a bot or willing to assist, drop me a PM.

Hope to see some people there soon!

If this is being done, I am going to be all over it... Would be a nice change to go from fantasy setting to a "space fantasy" setting!

Who else would love to see this for society?

Out of curiosity,

Would there be interest in setting up a Discord server for the sole purpose of Pathfinder Society. That way people can use it for small questions, possible Online PFS games?

So being a good n00b to the game I have a few questions...

When building up for an AP scenario, do you use the cards with B and 1 mixed? Or would it be depending on the AP you are playing? It is ikind of confusing to me at times.

Also when playing the first Scenario there is a location that remarks Boons, but I have no idea what classifies as a boon, any easy explanation on it for me?

So this weekend during a promo event here in the Netherlands and have to say I really loved it. Never thought I would like it, but what do you know :) I decided to get the Wrath boxed set (screwed up on buying the RotRL non mint version :( =)

So after that I decided to see my LFG and see for any interest in it since they are pretty heavy into Card Games (trying to get Society of the ground as well and it is a painful process at times...)

So I am wondering what is going to be the best way to get the Guild going there and garner interest? I am going to do a Demo type of game with the owner on Thursday and hopefully get more people involved.

On the other side, I am considering to start the solo play for the card guild in the store, what would be the best char (most challenging) to do it with Wrath so that I can order that deck for it.

Any more advice overall would be nice!

Recently I aquired an Aasimar boon in Society play and seeing as I am a fan of the tanking option in MMO's I was kind of wondering/considering to bring it to PFS and see how it goes with an Aasimar.

I was looking at some of the PLD types that might give you the benefit of taking some damage, but I am kind of lost on a few things and for this I turn to you people...

1) Any way of ensuring that the BBEG focuses on me in PFS?
2) What would you recommend me to go for to see a good build/effort?
3) drop PLD? and go for something else? if yes, what then?

About us: Mystical Awakening will be a home for guilds forming DEYS community.

DEYS is an Alliance of four PvP focused guilds that are striving towards building up a solid PvP community. We prefer to work in the shadow, we prefer to stay silent and let our actions in game speaks for ourselves when the time comes. Our cooperation started in Warhammer Online and continue through the latest game Elder Scroll Online, where we crowned our own AD Emperor on the Bloodthorn server.

Our goals are ultimately driven by the desire to engage in PvP or RvR, but we aim to offer a "full service” in our games, and utilize every aspect of gameplay to support our combat goals.

In each game MMO that we play, the members are typically subdivided in to two Corps, the Army Corps and the Civilian Corps. The Army Corps is our organized Legion of combatants, and will mainly focus on PvP. The Civilian Corps is our crafting unit, they're goal is to assist the Military and also to establish our economic domination of various markets. Both are overseen by officers who are responsible for ensuring members are reaching their potential, having fun and realizing the importance of their contribution to guild life. Communications in game is extremely important to us and the use of TS is mandatory while in game.

Purpose in Pathfinder Online: Build a strong settlement, explore, trade and.. oh yes PvP.

Should you wish to join or want more information, feel free to pm me or join us on our website!

DEYS has been around for a while now in various forms and in a collaboration between the various guilds. The 4 original guilds have played together, against each other in different games ranging from Themepark MMO's to the games like Darkfall. The plan for DEYS in Pathfinder Online will be to work as a full alliance. In due time DEYS will be looking for possible charters that are interested in being part of DEYS but an announcement will be made in due time.

Should anyone want to open communications with DEYS then I am your point of contact for now. We know several grups have reached out to Mystical Awakening to have them being part of something larger, and Mystical Awakening is honored to have been reached out to for that and we will keep communications open to ensure that for now there will be no miscommunication for now.

Question (and apologies if the answer has been given due to the fact I am on holidays)

When will people with open enrollment be able to sign up to the new website and vote for their Guild?
Also, any word on when it will be possible to send out the shield invites?

Some of you might know the whole blogging scene from Eve and might have stumbled upon them and read posts about Excel in space. I have decided to pick that up for Pathfinder Online and even tho the game isn't out I will do my best to keep the posts interesting and entertaining. I will go over the weekly blog posts from GW and pick out the tidbits I find interesting, I will poke at some of the threads here and throw my thoughts about it (some might like 'em, others might disagree...)

Overall, I invite you to follow me as I start here with Survival in Golarion

Feel free to provide me with feedback, or let me know when you pick up the same or have a feel to share some thoughts with me (I might poke some of the more prolific posters here for their thoughts!)

Domain and the blog name might change over time, depending on how attached I get to it.
You might see me compare pathfinder with eve, and those will be my views and will not reflect what GW is planning/doing.

Seeing as Mr. Dancey is a former CCP employee and I am sure he remembers what the community from Eve did with CCP I am wondering about the use of API and Pathfinder Online.

Things of use for API (or possible uses)
- Kill mails, to be used for a killboard and to see who killed you to put a bounty on the enemy player
- The use for API to generate signatures, forum access or teamspeak access
- Use API for a market tool, a hex tool (to see who is controling what)
- A skill developer / Monitoring tool

The main thing ofcourse would be if people could get access to possible API's to start working on them (either once alpha starts or early beta)

The kickstarter doesn't make the 1mil before the target date. Would it be possible to do something like what Star Citizen has done to keep the funding going? They have closed down the kickstarter / crowdforging but are still accepting donations for those who are interested.

I am hoping to see something like this happening for this one as well seeing as I am pretty hyped about the game, and want to get my guild into the beta for it and help build the game.

I am also in the progress of making a fansite. When I have more info about it I will let people know

Guild Charter:
Mystical Awakening (founded in December 2002) is an international English speaking MMO gaming community striving to build up a long-lasting reputation for being skilled and well regarded PvP’ers by the wider MMO community. We will achieve this by recruiting committed, mature members; embarking on smack-free and constructive communications; ensure our structures are focused on the players; organising well managed events; and carefully choosing allies and enemies in all games we play.

Our goals are ultimately driven by the desire to engage in PvP or RvR, but we aim to offer a "full service” in our games, and utilise every aspect of game play to support our combat goals. In each game MMO we play, the guild is typically subdivided in to three areas, or Spheres: Battle (PvP and PvE); Social (Diplomacy and guild members) and Crafting (Logistics, crafters). Each Sphere is overseen by guild officers who are responsible for ensuring members are reaching their potential, having fun and realising the importance of their contribution to guild life.

Mystical Awakening Guild Charter

Our guild members strive at all times to

* Participate in organised guild activity and create their own groups, rather than follow the path of a loner
* Maintain a long-term outlook, especially in developing grudges toward our enemies
* Avoid griefing, cheating, feeding trolls or engaging fools in smack talk
* Deal with real life first. It interferes.
* Maintain a sense of humour alongside a gamers’ serious, committed nature
* Ensure their conduct reflects maturity and intelligence of their guild whenever possible
* Have fun and enjoy the games lucky enough to host our guild and move on when it’s time
* Remain an active community member, move with or rejoin us when new games are announced
* Avoid drama. It does not enhance the quality of any game, not even WoW
* Understand that perfection doesn't exist and when room for improvement is identified, or criticism raised, communicate it.

The guild will find at its disposal a varying degree of resources through the years, but core to its activity will be:

* A continuous and solid representation of the Mystical Awakening name. Never merging, falling back or allowing its good name to be eroded through ignorance or design
* A Guild Council to assist in maintaining stability across all our games, and to provide GMs in new games
* Officers ensuring successful operations in one of three spheres: Battle, Social and Crafting
* Opportunity for all to input to the day-to-day activity and longer term direction of the guild, regardless of member’s guild rank
* A guild size that is most relevant to the requirements of the game, be it small and nimble or large and powerful, though never of the size that detracts from the individual skill required to overcome our enemies
* A professional voice communications service for all our games, and when required, our alliances
* A website located at www.mystical-awakening.net to act as a home for all our members through the years
* Opportunity for RL talents to be put to use to support the development of the guild and the wider community.

Should you wish to join or want more information, feel free to pm me or join us on our website!
