Laine knows with her accuracy that she should not fire into melee, and thus readies actions to fire if she can fire without granting the warforged cover via her allies.

Laine double moves to F7.

"Ah... I dunno about anyone else.. But I've never heard of undead acting like this.." Laine backs up a little*, still ready against attack.

*not actually a square's worth, just like a half-step.

Laine will ready action to interrupt spellcasting on the remaining warforged, moving a little closer if necessary.

Mmmm... Nice.

Alas, while being a wilder makes being a blaster mage practical, it means I suck at buffing. :(

Laine holds her action.

Laine fires at the caster warforged again.

Conceal, low bad: 1d100 ⇒ 17
Ennervation, low bad: 1d100 ⇒ 63
Attack, targets touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

And, miss.

Laine moves to the side of the cliff and also readies action to spellcaster foil.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Ennervation, low bad: 1d100 ⇒ 27

And I might as well stop there. :P

Can I be at N3?

Laine readies action to fire it up at the first enemy to come forward, min power if it's a skeleton.

Attack Roll, targets touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Ennervation, low bad: 1d100 ⇒ 97

Damage vs Warforged: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 6, 2) + 3 = 13
Damage vs Skeleton: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 4) + 2 = 12

Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Laine raises an eyebrow at how swiftly Kirren annihilates every visible target. Sure, she was expecting easy victory, but that was fast..

Then she nods in assent to his whisper.

I assume my PP's weren't spent as he killed them all before I acted?

"No, I asked for confirmation of whether I should send a message given that I informed you somebody else was checking out the side room you were telling me to send them to, and you ran off and started shooting at these guys before answering."

"As for these guys, if we can't take a couple goblins, we have no business being out your choice of a nursing home or a nursery." Laine grins as she readies another hand o flame.

Ini: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

BTW, on Laine's last hit, she'd aim at an unwounded target. She doesn't like killstealing against weak foes. :P

On that note, it shouldn't be hard for each group to solo their encounter. Looks like we won't be fighting any boss mobs, three people can mop a decent sized group of skellies or gob's any day.

Laine whips off her surprise fire.

Energy Ray, minimum power with wild surge.

To Hit, Target Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 1) + 2 = 9 fire
Ennervation, low bad: 1d100 ⇒ 74

Laine looks between Vajra and Grim searching the other chamber and Kirren giving her orders to tell the other group to search that chamber for a moment "Er.. But, those two are already searching that chamber. Um, wait, two?"

~We'd best hurry, the link will only last ten minutes.~ Laine tests out the mindlink after a moment.

Laine uses Mindlink!

It was normally effective!

Why are these statements worthy of exclamation marks!

Sorry, having a bit of fun. :P

Then Laine heads up the north passage trying to adeptly think about nothing.

"I need to link up with someone from the opposite group. Volunteers?" Laine puts her free hand on her hip.

Indeed, I was aware of that.

"I can link our minds so that we can regroup if either group runs into something it can't handle or has a clue the other group is better equipped to deal with." Laine speaks these words but shows obvious distaste for the idea.

Laine smiles and says with an almost straight face, "Yes, we were only half hurrying before, because we thought they were just being impolite about inviting her to tea and biscuits."

"Well, at fear of being overly dramatic, we made a promise to a dying father. But the fact that she is anyone's daughter is good enough reason for me." Laine comments.

For a typical Pyro, Laine seems to be oddly equipped, with a shield lined on the inside with throwing knives and a fine chain shirt, a mace at her side, and a backpack.

"But, there was something else that one guy who never came with wanted to save her for?" Laine looks around to the original members of the group.. which is Vajra.

"FIRE." is Laine's one word grinning response.

Oh, thanks I didn't know the Kalashtar got extra power point per level. I'm working off scraps and bits I can salvage, as I joined the DnD train at Pathfinder, rather than 3.5e.

"... So, in other words, we all want to prove we are tough and manly," Laine does a exaggerated arm pump, " and so are causing unnecessary conflict despite the fact that we all have the exact SAME FREAKING GOAL!"

She picks up her shield and starts moving ahead. "Seriously, let's stop drawing weapons and go save the girl."

Ah.. I enjoy this character.. All the tools to be the perfect diplomat and... Just doesn't have the personality for it. :P

With George gone, our rear tank is gone, so Vajra's gonna fall back into that spot. It'd be better the other way around probably, but Vajra can't track.

Laine throws her shield up before climbing with Vajra's assistance.

Assist check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Forgot my racial +2 last time.
Laine's Check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1 +2 if above is good.

Oh wait, huh, wow, the climb had a check of less than 5, guess it doesn't matter.

"I hate waiting.." Laine comments, still at the bottom of the climb.

Spot: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

I'd probably be one or two squares back down whichever is the tunnel we came from.

Still walking in the middle.

"Right." Laine nods as she looks at the scene.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

"Mmm... I got nothing."

Everyday I'm followin'.

Still working on the level up, but I have enough done that it would not be difficult in the least to continue playing.

Whee! Having more than one power!

Every day I'm followin'.

My characters attempt to aid Kirren.

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Laine sticks close with the group. Vajra likewise.

I'm surprised that all we know about what happened to him is "he got stabbed" when someone got a 27 on a heal check. Unless he's such a wuss that he starts shaking and moaning when wounded even though he's a Justicar. :P

"Uh.. Thanks.." She takes the berries and tries one experimentally. "Damn it, I've let you guys down. Sorry, for all my talk I'm practically useless with a wound like this if we get attacked again."

Laine sticks behind George, and readies a wild surge the only power she has to hit the Gal if she takes aggressive action.

Laine readies action to retreat from dust just in case this is some kind of vampire mode movement like thing. :P

Laine stands behind the front line fighters at 0 HP taking total defense.

"Gah.. Why are the foes worth talking about always the ones resistant to fire!"

Drat. In Pathfinder, you can take a standard action withdraw (if standard is all you have on your turn) but you only get 1 move instead of two.

In that case, Laine fires a wild-surge energy ball, after five foot stepping back.

Wild Surge, low bad: 1d100 ⇒ 21
Attack, targets touch, including -4 for target in melee with allies: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Fire Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 1) + 2 = 9

Confirm: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

Laine shield is brushed aside as the blow lands into her squarely. She staggers back, dropping her mace..

"Well... ****..."

I don't remember, does the standard action withdraw (if you don't have a move action) exist in 3.5e? If so, that's what I'll take.

Laine stands up and grabs her mace.

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Laine pipes up, "Actually, I'll double up on second watch. I usually get up then anyway."

Spot: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

"Well, this keeps getting better and better.. The Blood of Vol." Laine comments.

"Regardless, we hoping for leads more along the lines of "where should we head if we want to introduce said vampire to the pointy end of our respective weapons" and not who did it, but thanks for the info anyway."

"Well, phooey, I bet we won't get to shoot these people either, Kirren." Laine sets her free hand on her hip.

Laine always seemed to enjoy blurring the boundary between "sociopath" and "hero".

"Fair enough. Keep your wits about you and don't get hit in the face by rogue magic."
