TRhanks for running! I had a great time. And it's been a long time since Shrike's reckless crusader charges were properly punished by a big bad, haha. What's that they say about living by the sword, again...

Oh well. Time for a day job. Performing funeral rites seems sadly appropriate considering the adventure's ending.

Ohmarc's magic flows through the chaplain's body, mending her wounds and restoring her stamina. She stands up with a look of steely determination in her eyes.

"My allies will not let me fall. But you will meet your end alone, monster!" shouts Shrike as she drives her sword directly into the beast's chest!

Lady Shrike does her best to shield herself, but the electricity overloads her body and she falls limp once again.

From her position in the ground, Lady Shrike takes hold of her blade and revs it up once again. Gritting her teeth, she takes a desperate swing!

Lady Shrike takes the brunt of the electricity, opting to absorb as much of it as possible in some desperate instinct to protect the civilians. Alas, she has nothing but seared flesh and another lost soul to show for it. She falls to her knees, blade slipping from the grasp of her trembling hand as she is brought down.
"No, I.. will... I... must..."

Crumpled in a smoking heap, the barely-breathing form of the Lady Chaplain writhes when filled with the life essence of Ohmarc. She's just awake enough to feel the pain.
"...save... them..."

I'm assuming by the order of events that the breath attack took her down before she was healed?

"I shall not retreat. I shall not relent. I am swift retribution!"

Lady Shrike shrugs off the glancing blow from the claws, raising her blade. "By the will of the Goddess, I strike! You are unwelcome in this world, vile creature!"

Activating Divine Judgement for a Resolve as a move action. Against this target, Shrike's attacks bypass its DR and ignores energy resistances as though her weapons had the holy fusion.

The sight of that monster so close to the captured civilians lights a fire in her heart. Her jet pack flares as she rushes through the cave.

She lands on the large crate in front of Sozirenn. "Then I'll finish the job and reunite you, vile beast!"

Double moving to tie up the boss in melee. Angles in the cave make it impossible to charge, I think.

"There are people in need. But..." The chaplain rolls her shoulder. She flinches. "If I go alone it won't do much. If we're already resting? I'll take a moment to recover. But we should be quick; every minute we lose could be another innocent life."

Lady Shrike will reluctantly take 10 minutes to recover her Stamina.

The paladin bears a stern look on her face, even as the flames wash over her body and leave burns across her armor and the side of her forehead. She responds by raising her pistol, firing a gout of plasma to return the favor, before striking at the same spot. It seems that she's trying to soften the armor up to deliver a deathblow!

The paladin lays into her foe once more, clashing the whirring teeth of her fangblade against the metal hull of the tank.

The wrath of the chaplain transfers to the other tank, her blade's motor grinding through the spare parts of the previously gutted foe.

Lady Shrike raises her arms to guard herself as she does her best to avoid the explosive retaliation. She pushes through the pain, a prayer on her lips as she presses the assault.

"The Goddess protects! The blades and bombs of the wicked shall not harm me, for I am Her justice made manifest! Her will be done!"

With the immediate threat of civilians in danger, Lady Shrike does not hesitate. Her jet pack fires at full throttle as she lifts into the sky before dive-bombing the tanks!

"Please. Don't shoot. We're here on a rescue operation. See?" The paladin sheaths her weapon and raises her hands, wings folding behind her.

Lady Shrike promptly responds. "This is Blue Team. Brown Team has been accounted for. Zero casualties but with serious injuries, some are immobile. They require retrieval. We have found survivors and sent them to the landing pads. Still sweeping the plaza for survivors. Over."

As her allies push into the ship, Lady Shrike attempts to coordinate with the crew. Through prayers to her goddess, and aiding in focus with members of Brown Team who are more mystically inclined, she seeks to divine the location of survivors lost beyond the range of broken cameras or malfunctioning sensors.

"Goddess, the battle rages on. Your soldiers have arrived. Guide me to them."

Lady Shrike is not far behind, moving forward and attempting to free the trapped civilians.

Shrike's face grimaces at the sight of the bodies in prisons. "Let's at least move them out of a cell before we throw the gnome inside."

Lady Chaplain Lanius Shrike stands tall above the gnome; a task not in of itself that difficult, but she still brings to bear her steely glance and posture of a seasoned warrior.

"Who are you, really? And why are you here?" She gently rests her hand on the hilt of her blade, though it remains at her side.

Intimidation: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Lady Shrike listens carefully, following her allies' questioning by trying to see how the gnome responds.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

"I'll aid however I can. If need be, I'll carry them out over my own shoulders."

Athletics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Lady Shrike sheaths her sword and begins pulling at the barricade.

"Hang on! We're with the Starfinders. This is a rescue operation! We're here to evacuate civilians!" She hopes to speed up the process with her participation.

Lady Shrike lands next to her companion to help articulate on the display. Then she glances around, looking for any building that looks relatively stable and less likely to catch stray fire.

"We're here to rescue you. The battle is still going on, but we have secured a landing pad. Once we gain control of the skies, we will transport you out of the warzone."

She casts her gaze among the civilians, looking for the most stable and capable one.
Profession Chaplain (to tell at a glance which one is the most trustworthy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

"You." she says, stepping over to one of the civilians. She pulls out her personal communicator and opens up the map function. "The coordinates to the launch pad are here, and this is the route we took to get to you. If you follow this way, you will have the least risk. I'll inform my allies that you're coming, and they will protect you. Can I trust you to lead them there?"

Lady Shrike puts her trust in her armor and and chances a quick bit of movement around her opponent, settling her feet on the roof to make future attacks more stable.

Lady Shrike remains hovering, surprised her foe is still standing after such a powerful blow. She strikes, hoping to put her opponent down so she can go help her allies.

Lady Shrike looks out at the sources of fire. The fewer snipers that are allowed to freely take potshots, the better.

"Snipers! Don't give them space!" she shouts before kicking her jetpack into overdrive and shooting across the pavement like a bullet!

Sky Jockey boosts her jet pack speed by 10 and Jet Charge allows her to charge (standard action) at triple speed.

Lady Shrike grunts and groans against the weight of the rubble. She does her best to squeeze free of the crushing rocks. Or, should she already be free, she'll attempt to help another ally instead!

Lady Shrike attempts to evade the falling rubble, but she overestimates her room to move and her armor collides with a wall, likely showing her reactions below a critical threshold...

Lady Shrike gives a quick salute with her blade. "Affirmative. Goddess grant you fury!"

She pivots on a heel and begins moving down the alley at a brisk pace, slowing herself enough to allow her allies to keep pace.

"Wretched, souless thing!"

"Enemies! Lady Shrike is quick to respond, her wings flapping hard to bring the armored paladin into the air above the ground. She then angles her wings to dive towards the nearest foe to bring down her whirring fangblade.

As the drop pod descends, Sister Chaplain Lanius Shrike retrieves a censer from her belt. She holds it in front of her, motioning across the strapped-in crew. It's smoke is odorless, and likely crafted to not cause issue in pressurized compartments.

"O Spirit of Golarion, bless these warriors as they go forth to do your good work. Bless us with bravery and valor in the face of these villains. Guide our blades and our reticles so that we may strike true in your name. Deliver unto us the weak and sick and the innocent so way may deliver them from evil."

Her prayer intensifies as the drop pod's landing is imminent. "May we strike the earth like your armored fist to deliver justice!"

The chaplain is the first to step out, blade and pistol in hand. "As expected, they were ready. I've no doubt their visions foretold of their inevitable defeat. Come, let us bring their prophecy to life!"

My apologies. I did a little audit of my character and it turns out I've still got to complete one more scenario before I can hit level 11. So my signup should be as 10. Hope that doesn't mess with the encounter calculations!

Lady Lanius smiles and she brings her gauntlet covered fist into her palm. "My old mercenary unit used to favor hot drops into combat zones. Shrike Squad was renowned for their rapid insertions and deadly assaults. It feels like a lifetime ago when they were giving me basic grav training."

The normally stern woman's face lights up with excitement. "We won't let you down, Fitch. We'll cut through the enemy like the sword of the Goddess herself and get those people out of there."

"But remember what it was like to fly... without even engines?" she reminisces.

"It's fun, isn't it?" says the hawkish looking woman as she steps into the room. And hawkish in many literal ways: from her slightly angular face and pointed nose and chin, to the pair of avian wings folded in behind her back. Beyond that, the woman is wearing heavy armor colored in red and white and gold trim. Her protective shell is festooned with a small church's worth of iconography, all dedicated to Iomedae.

"Greetings. I am Sister Chaplain Lanius Shrike, paladin in service of the goddess Iomedae. You may simply call me Lady Shrike, if you prefer."

She happily takes an autograph from Azara. "Thank you. A sister in battle from my old mercenary unit would likely appreciate this. She's from Castrovel."

Hey hey! I'd be happy to bring my Sister Whomst Battles into this next game! I'll need a little bit to level her up thanks to her most recent chronicle, but it shouldn't take too long.

Lady Shrike assists Officer Swizzers with the prisoners, but makes sure to enjoy the ceremony as well. She allows herself the indulgence of a photo with the trophy, which she immedietly sends to someone on her contacts list, mumbling something about "Yellowback's going to love this."

On the ride back, she focuses on her prayers, with her blade laid out over a small surface as an improvised shrine to Iomedae. She gives thanks for their victory, thanks for guidance in the rescue, and vows to continue to fight in Her name.

Lanius' prayers seem to have a little more umph put into them as she wills the ship to move faster by the power of faith alone!
