I am excited to see this, none of of the current titles open to POD are useful for me but there are a few older books I am lacking so maybe some day.

I'm starting to think we first encounter Datch in season 1 during 1-14 Star Sugar Heartlove. There was a female Ysoki that was telecommuting via robot with a story how her vacation was canceled. Her name was Diwata but I believe it was Datch with a cover story. The robot was a method to safely observe and in needed interfere with stuff. Hack she was from the Diaspora and an upcoming scenario will have us on the trail in the Diaspora after Datch.

With that said Datch has become a favorite npc for me. I hope she is around for a long long time.

Lovely article. One slight problem.

I don't recall ever seeing mention of Taldor sending forces into Isger during the Goblinblood War. They had no reason to send forces, unless they were there to help the goblins weaken the surrounding states...

I believe the sentence should say Druma instead of Taldor which I have seen mentioned before. Also Druma would have been one of the 3 nations to border Isger and the goblins were causing trade issues.

I assumed the special drift engine has to do with the fact that the Master of Stars is an Ultranaught classed starship, which exceed 6 miles in length. The only world in the pact worlds that is known for dealing with ship of that scale is Eox. For comparison, Absalom Station is only 5 miles in diameter.

Truth be told, when I saw that little fact in the scenario I started wondering "Where the heck did the society get a Super Star Destoryer?"

I would love to see a scenario that was focused on the Master of Stars and learning more of its history and how the society acquired it as this was unlikely something they constructed. I imagine they found it abandoned floating in space, it might not even have had a drift engine yet. Perhaps it was originally something akin to the Idari, an gap-age sleeper ship.

Edit: This all assumes that the classification of the Master of Stars is not a typo or artistic licensing

When I ran this, one of my players pieced together enough information to try an experiment. He stomped on some mushrooms and thus began the Sparklemane Massacre. (They were in the midst of yelling back and forth with the "ghost in the mist"). They barely drove it off the first time but it hunted them back down after healing. One person managed to choke the poor thing with a smoke gernade. Sparklemane felt pretty confident with its saves and fought them in the smoke and fell after knocking out 2 players and almost getting a 3rd.

My Sparklemane lead them out of the swamp the first time as they got lost and followed the dancing lights right out of the swamp. 2nd time in I had gnoll and yeti corpses whisper "leave while you can" which is perfectly normal given that the yetis back in the peat bog were singing "Don't Worry; Get Angry"

One of those players ran this at a convention afterwards and the players put together enough info from the clues. First they thought it was a centaur from the hoofs but the gore attacks said something else... He was heartbroken that they uttered the magic words "We'll make everyone go away!" He had party poppers, and a unicorn tiara.

My players got me for Christmas a unicorn from build a bear that shouts some profanities about being Sparklemane and getting out of her swamp....

2) I always thought when it listed 1/day Spell X Y and Z that it met they can cast each of those spells once per day. Unless I am mistaken.

3) You are right that their low DCs, this may be more a result of them using the monster making rules and it setting the DC on its own. I would go with whats written as is as that thing gonna be a truck on its own.

My players will never forget that blood thristy monster that is the Sparklemane Massacre. No PCs died in the end but thats cause ol Sparklemane choked to death on a smoke grenade. They got my a stuffed unicorn from build-a-bear that shouts some profanity about getting out of her dang swamp.

Its possible Time Dragons know what happened in the Gap but are unable or unwilling to talk about it.

I'm convinced that the Gap was caused by Rovagug getting out, and some safety left on his lockbox activated splitting time and space into countless realities that gave the Gods a chance to save the universe while also splitting Rovagug's power into each parallel universe for them to battle a weaker version. The universe was saved because while Rovagug might have destroyed each planet he encounter, countless realities ensured but each world got spared at least once in each reality from that version of Rovagug choosing a different path of destruction. When Rovagug was finally defeated in each reality, the Gods went to merge them all back together but due to all the Ret-Con issues they had to purge several thousand years of history to make it work. (Bunch of inconsistencies from merging different versions of the same people and places back together some of which are different in different realities or missing entirely.

Golarion is still missing cause it being at the epicenter of Rovagug's break out, the gods are still trying to piece it back together from all the broken, phased out realities. They got all the pieces to make a whole Golarion from Rovagug breaking out different places but its alot harder trying to get none matching parts of a planet back together then it was replacing a whole missing world.

Truth be told we could still be in a Gap just not the first one so we're missing the first Gap but when Golarion comes back the Whole Gap will end and no one will have any idea what happened now.

The tides come and go but the Time Dragons paddle on as if nothing happened. That's awfully suspicious to me.

I loved this scenario. I had an actual booth for this as my game store started doing some remodeling with some side rooms that used to be locker rooms (The store was a gym several years ago and new landlord is allowing the store owner to make changes). The booth was not sound proof at all so everyone heard what was said but it created the illusion of privacy so people would say what they thought.

I borrowed some notecards from a player and put a folded note card in front of each player with their name and as the scenario progressed I would grab the card and write “titles” for the player corresponding to their actions and what other players said about them. They players could see each other players titles but not their own. Not everyone got a title as some did not get into the spirit of the scenario (1 was a new player frustrated with the poorly built solarion pregen and one player kept a low profile intentionally).

Used titles like “Clueless Do-Gooder” “At least he’s not a gnome” “Sarcastic Witty Rodent” “Well Lubricated Lizard” “Captain Showboat” (Tis what another player called him in the booth) “Tumble Champion of Rockwald County and Ocean Blvd” (Cause he overly used acrobatics at every single time to impress the cameras and we established every location in Absalon station is on Ocean Blvd if it isn’t called out in the scene).

I look forward to future versions of this scenario. One of my players made it clear that they should be using drone cameras but everyone else loved the fact that the undead camera crew got some collateral damage for the blooper reel, makes up for fact they got used as cover several times by the ‘orcs.’

I personally accepted the slower release schedule because Paizo doesn't want to go the same way TSR did, releasing too many products lines that ended up competing with each other.

After 10 years of doing Pathfinder they are doing their first separate product line and being smart about it.

James, could we entice you to share how the revealed two iconics (Feiya and the spiritualist) fit into Lovecraftian themes in general, without any AP spoilers of course?

Witchcraft featured strongly in Lovecraft's stories. In fact, a witch was the main antagonist of "Dreams in the Witch House."

The spiritualist doesn't fit well... it's the Medium who's also been revealed. We wanted to include an Occult character because Lovecraft's writings used occult themes all the time, with the exception of the Kineticist, all five of the other classes fit well into his themes. I chose the Medium because he's got the strongest in-world ties to Ustalav, where the AP begins.

Not to mention it wouldn't be Erasmus' first trip to an asylum...

VOLUNTEER! Fill out the online form with the amount of time you want to help out and we'll see ya there. We do not assume you have been a volunteer before so we will provide you with what you need to perform your volunteer tasks. Ok I did. By the time Gencon rolls around I will have a few GM tables under my belt.

The question I would ask is are you new to GenCon as well? If this is your first GenCon by all means volunteer one or two times but I wouldn't spend the whole con in the Sagamore Ballroom there is after all so many things going on, now if you have gone to Gencon several times then by all means play/gm your way to euphoria.

This has happened a few times for me. Normally I will just fill in the missing slot with a pregen (if this took us to 3 players) based on one of the missing players and rescale the scenario as a 4-player game from that point on. If the pregen had some class ability with limited uses (spells, channel, LoH, ect) I might remove some uses based on what the player had done up to that point.

The missing players get rewards based on what they were here for. If they got 3 encounters, 1xp, and 0 or 1 Prestige based on what they did to help accomplish the goals of that scenario up to that point.

True Dragons of Absalom (nicknamed We Be Kobolds), is only available to 5-Star GMs in Pathfinder Society. Which in short means I doubt it will be available for purchase. It is an actual Scenario for PFS unlike We Be Goblins which is a free RPG modular that can be ran like an scenario.

I know it isn't the answer you are looking.

Why not just register a home game with PFS, reserve a set of PFS number cards and each kid gets their own number. Never need to register the numbers or create an account. Both kids get to play, and everything remains legal in the rules. No headache for anyone, and the kids privacy remains in tact.

When you join the Pathfinders, it is traditionally one of the three masters (Master of Scrolls, Spells, or Swords) that oversees your training into a real pathfinder and shape where you end up in the society.

One thing to note is not every pathfinder goes out exploring or adventuring, many pathfinders from the Scrolls end up in as "Librarians" or Scribes so to speak. Swords are the more adventuring sort (though Adventurers come from all three branches). I'm not sure what they do in the Spells, I tried asking someone what Aram Zey does as Master of Spells and they just sort of started crying while muttering something about emotional abuse...

So long answer short, the Swords, Scrolls, and Spells, are really just the "schools" you trained in as a Pathfinder, and in some ways could be considered a fraternity you were apart of while training.
