Awesome. Will have character ready tonight.

Zane Shivers has not completed chronicle he started. Since I do not have another PFS character readily available I will build one for this game. Will check in later today.

Just realized no occult classes allowed. Will make an elven transmuter instead.

Dotting. Still debating character concept. Maybe occultist

Well, hello there DM Living! Rykaar and Grey kick butt!

Signed up.

So time to start again. Though this time this will be a "fixed" lottery. (Two slots will be GM's prerogative for new-ish PbP players) If there is enough interest I would run two tables.

Also feel free to post in the Recruitment Thread

Lottery will end Nov 27 15:00 Eastern/US

Just signed up with Zane Shivers. Played Mists of Mwangi with you and had a blast. Character is still in the middle of another Chronicle but hope to finish up next week. If not will build a new one.

Come one, come all! Step up and listen! GM Emmjay here!. Have you ever wanted to play a series of PFS Senario's with the same group of players, carrying on like a great big campaign? Here is your chance!

SIGN UP HERE!!!!

Starting with 7-10 (The Consortium Compact), an easy way to get the group working together and start a much deeper role playing experience. We will then continue on with SEASON 4 scenarios. This will get the group to LEVEL 9, at that point the group will go off to other season(s) to continue the fun.

Just signed up. Have not played any of the scenarios listed. Would like to play an Arcane Caster or Investigator, but open to anything.

@DM Jubal: It looks like there are two very similar Goliath druids. As I will be traveling next 48 hours I will not be able to complete my character, so am bowing out. Thank you for the consideration and have a great time.

Argden Jutenblud (wip)

Background:

The city smelled of urine, decay and sweat. It sickened and disgusted the muscular, wild-looking half-orc. Snorting as he passed the foul fish market heading towards the tavern, Argden felt overwhelmed and confused by the many streets, alleys and dead-ends of the large city.

He missed the wide open fields, the rolling hills, and deep forests of his native Brevoy. Far to the north of the city it had taken him months of dangerous travel to reach the meeting place.

Definitely interested. Will probably be playing a melee druid, cleric or hunter. Will have completed character soon.

Dotting. I like the detail in the Player's Guide. Will this be a good mix of urban and wilderness? I am thinking vigilante warlock, but if game moves away from city then would do something different.

Never played scales of War campaign. Sounds interesting.
I have mainly been playing PFS chronicles on this forum, so interested in a longer campaign.

Not sure how much work it will be for you to convert from 4e to PF, so be sure you are ready for the time commitment involved. I have been thinking about GM’ing an Adventure Path here, but each time I read advice threads from other PbP GM’s I have second thoughts.

I will start the creative process for character I would like to submit. Thank you for the consideration.

Interested. Dot.

Dot. Not sure yet what I want to play.
Need to re-read some of the early books...

I have an unchained monk or barbarian ready to go on his first adventure.

I submit Oriana Montfort for your consideration: female aasimar anti-paladin (vmc) oracle (battle), LE. Crime: desertion

Character Concept:

A hauntingly beautiful ex-soldier, tortured by a shattered psyche* that manifests as multiple personalities: Lieutenant Oriana Montfort (officer of Talirean military); Vazyria of House Barca (knight of the Sacred Brotherhood of the Gryphon and disciple of Asmodeus); and Sybil (an abused orphan girl).

+ Lt. Montfort (LN) is a distinguished officer of the Talirean military, a rising star charged with defending the Watch Wall and highly respected and honoured by her troops.

+ Vazyria Barca (LE) is a despicable tyrant, a disciple of Asmodeus and a knight of the Sacred Brotherhood of the Gryphon. She is an evil anti-paladin, driven to overthrow the Royal House of Talingarde and believes to be the immortal daughter of King Jaraad of House Barca and a fallen angel. Vazyria is a fantasy, deeply hidden within Oriana's psyche, who will strengthen and quickly take over as the dominant personality.

+ Sybil (hahaha - may change the name) is the dormant personality that only shows up in deeply stressful situations. This persona hides the abuse received as a child, and protects both Oriana and Vazyria, who are the strong, independent and confident women personalities.

* shattered psyche: Oracle curse - mind is crowded with dozens of voices, fragmented snippets of past lives. Take a -2 penalty on all Intelligence-based skill checks, Wisdom-based skill checks, and concentration checks. Gain a +4 competence bonus on saving throws made against mind-affecting effects.

Crime:

Lt. Oriana Montfort was tasked to defend the Watch Wall, orders that she fulfilled for three years with pride and distinguish. During those three years she rose from the ranks of common soldier, to Sergeant and recently promoted to Lieutenant. During the last year of service, Oriana began suffering from painful headaches, intermittent black-outs and hearing strange voices. Two weeks ago Lt. Montfort led her troops astray... they left their posts for 7 hours during which the Wall was attacked by a contingent of Hobgoblins and nearly 30 men killed by the surprise attack. Her men could not understand why she led them away from the Watch Wall, but to a man they testified to be following direct orders...

Desertion You have deserted from the Talirean military and been recaptured. To get sent to Branderscar this was not some minor or routine dereliction of duty. Instead, you abandoned your post during a time of crisis -- perhaps battle or while defending the Watch Wall. Regardless of the exact circumstances, your laziness and cowardness must have caused loss of life.
-->Punishment: Death by hanging
-->Benefit: You receive one bonus skill point per level that must be spent on the Profession (Soldier) skill. Profession (Soldier) is always a class skill for you.

Background:

Excerpts from Interrogation of Prisoner Oriana Montfort

It all made sense — terrible sense. The panic I experienced in the forest because of not knowing what had happened had been superseded at the ramparts by the even greater panic of partial knowledge. And now the torment of partly knowing had yielded to the infinitely greater terror of knowing precisely...

She became more serious and her tone grew deeper and more reflective as she remarked, "Life has so much pain that one needs a catharsis. I don't mean escape. You don't escape from the Watch Wall. On the contrary, the Wall helps you to realise yourself more fully. I'm glad I have them. When I find myself in a situation in which I'd rather not be - because of the peculiar circumstances of my life - I have this outlet. You may think less of me; but I'm not really, I am just what I am and live the way I like.

"I’ve learned to get really good at this—say one thing when I’m thinking about something else, act like I’m listening when I’m not, pretend to be calm and happy when really I’m burning. It’s one of the skills you perfect as you get older. You have to learn that people are always listening...

Sometimes I feel as though there are two me’s, one coasting directly on top of the other: the superficial me, who nods when she’s supposed to nod and says what she’s supposed to say, and some other, deeper part, the part that worries and dreams and says “Gray.” Most of the time they move along in sync and I hardly notice the split, but sometimes it feels as though I’m two whole different people and I could rip apart at any second."

Scrawled in blood of prisoner Oriana Montfort's cell wall:

I felt doomed to death,
But in a flash,
Before I could reduce my thoughts
To an emotion,
I felt a mass leave my body:
Departing.
Then my mind becomes anonymous
As is each night.
Just unfinished thoughts,
and a deep sickness inside,
As I was forced to swallow it,
Something I've tried to bury deep inside my
psyche to this day.

Dwarves unite! The idea of members of a dwarven clan adventuring together is old school sweetness.

I am ready to play a dwarven wizard!

Dot. Big Deadlands fan. Will be interesting in Pathfinder.

Probably will play a kung-fu warpriest monk!

All in for this one.

4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 4) = 14-3 = 11
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 5) = 11-2 = 9
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 2) = 17-2 = 15
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 3) = 16-3 = 13
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 2) = 15-1 = 14
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 3, 5) = 14-1 = 13

If I did math correctly that is 18, so will adjust up to 25.

Will be a Dwarf Transmuter or maybe Sorcerer!

Starting Gold 3d6: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2) = 12

Dot. Will post with character later tonight. I am going to build a new character so have no issues filling a specific role (divine, arcane, trap finder, etc.)

I am currently in two PFS campaigns that started about 1 or 2 weeks ago. Both are my first PFS experiences.

Very interested in playing, but will need to build a third PFS character if that is ok. Will be an Investigator.

Thank you for the consideration. Should I build the character or wait first for admittance into the Campaign?

Hi GM Fuzzfoot: I am very interested but debating what type of character to play. I know we all need to band together at some point, but was wondering if it would be ok to try be a slave that works for the slave masters.

Idea is a hobgoblin druid, who was captured as a slave, but through guile, servile attitude, and competence has become the "hound" for the slave masters and tracks down escaped captives, etc.

So he is a slave, but a slightly "higher" ranking one, and probably seen as a "traitor" to his fellow slaves. It may cause some initial distrust, but over time must earn and gain the party's confidence.

Think of him a bit as Darrell in season 1 of Walking Dead.

EDIT: If you approve conceptually (and do not think idea would be disruptive) will get started on background and submit for your consideration. Character would be Lawful Neutral, as his normal LE tendencies have been softened over many years of slavery, mistreatment, and now has more empathy for others in same position.

Good luck to all. The characters are all fantastic, so I am sure you will have a blast. Wish I could have made the cut!

If you need a cleric in the future please give me a shout!

Strange behavior of Paizo website. I am having trouble accessing the website, and got here through a proxy VPN. I have flushed DNS a couple of times and still having trouble with this website.

Has this happened to you? Any other suggestions on how to fix?

Thanks!

LINK: Tiago Mezinas

I have completed submission. Thank you for the consideration and good luck to all. I have copied details from Alias here.

Appearance & Personality:

Appearance & Personality:

A brash, conceited and unscrupulous scoundrel, Tiago uses his great wit, charm and good looks to enjoy life working as little as possible.

He is an entertainer, who firmly believes that an essential part of the job is staying up all night, graciously accepting drinks from patrons or bartenders, seducing smitten wenches, and sleeping all day. He performs at all the local taverns, festivals, weddings, birthdays, and special occasions. He strives to be the life of the party and makes sure to know everyone in town.

Tiago is a towering, muscular and ruggedly handsome half-orc that is covered in delicate and intricate tattoos over most of his body. He is always well-dressed in clean and pressed colorful shirts that combine with his equally loud bandanas and sashes. He is brash, conceited and egotistical. He is a born extrovert who thrives on being the center of attention. Flashy (yet cheap) earrings, necklaces and rings complement his wardrobe and a beautiful black silk poncho with scarlet embroidered patterns completes his outfit.

He is very proud of his lustrous, silky, jet black hair and his piercing golden eyes. He carries a mirror always, and checks his reflection constantly, adjusting his clothes, hair and/or jewelry accordingly. His one defect is his ego, and does not take well to teasing nor insults (Drawback: Vain).

He has known many hardships during his travels through Varisia, having confronted bigots and preconceptions because of his Sczarni ties and mixed heritage. These encounters have made him defensive and he tends to overreact to criticism.

Background:

Character History & Background:

His adopted Sczarni family (Trait: Family Ties) found him as he wandered and stumbled through the Varisian wildlands, half-starved and dehydrated, clutching desperately a beautifully crafted falchion engraved with strange runes.

He claims to have stolen the relic (Trait: Signature Moves) from a Belkzen chieftain's horde, while on a mission for the Pathfinder Society amongst the savage tribes of the Hold of Belkzen. The truth of these tales will never be known, as Tiago is fond of weaving heroic epics, filled with danger, passion and despair.

He has made many friends in the short weeks he has called Sandpoint home. In particular, he has attached himself to Jubrayl Vhiski from the Fatman's Feedbag, and his enchanting wife Marissa and their children Rusty and Rose. They remind him of his adopted brothers and sisters from his Sczarni family, who he misses terribly, and wishes to see again soon.

He has a special affinity with all children, and enjoys playing with them, hearing them laugh at his tall tales and raunchy limericks, and so has built a small following of loyal little fans that look for every opportunity to hear him play.

Character Role & Development:

Character Role & Development:

He is a support front-line skirmisher. Strong melee arcane duelist bard, talented at performing (singing and playing the guitar), with good people skills. He will develop his natural magical talents over time, and shift towards more of a support role, buffing party members during combat, and building relationships with NPC's outside. He is built tough enough to support the front-line fighters when needed.

About Me::

I have been playing RPG's for a long time (started with 1st Edition AD&D, and got hooked in again with D&D 3rd Edition, finding happiness with Pathfinder. I have not been playing in real life much because I have been posted overseas in a remote location, and have only just recently gotten stable and reliable WiFi. So I would truly be thrilled if selected and able to re-start gaming on a regular basis.

I am terribly busy during the day, so will be posting in the evenings after work (GMT -4), and sometimes really early in the mornings. Weekends are going to be hit and miss, based on family engagements.

Again, thank you for the consideration and for DM'ing. This looks like a lot of work!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

@GM Otha: Thank you, I just looked at the map and moved my icon over to the table. First post already sent! Woohoo, excited to get started.

I submit Tiago Mezinas - a brash, charming and heroic scoundrel. He is a Varisian half-orc Szcarni arcane duelist bard.

Need to modify / update background to reflect different AP. Was submitted earlier for Ironfang Invasion. Alias available with character crunch and background.

Posting from phone is pretty frustrating! Site ate my post!

Anyway just keeping connected. Thank you for the advice in header and pbp tips. Will add as I complete character.

I am zeroing in on a half-orc Oracle.

Very interested. Will have a character and background complete over the weekend. I am one of the rare folks who have played Pathfinder for many years but never any AP. So have no experience with the adventure. Have heard great things about the AP, so hope I am selected.

Thank you for GM'ing.

I am traveling next couple of days. Will get character complete and posted by Saturday. Sorry for the delay just struggling without HeroLab (on home computer) to get details complete.

Dot. Sounds like fun. Would like to use an Investigator, disguised as a Slave Merchant.

DM Livgin wrote:
I'm looking at a warpriest if that affects your decision.

A melee cleric/shaman is always fun, should work well with a Warpriest, Unrogue and a couple of arcane casters.

Character will be first level, and have never played any of the modules described. Not sure what the difference between slow/normal progression means in PFS (I get the slower advancement, but is there a benefit?)

Looks like a lot of arcane casters already so I am open to changing my character (Investigator) and playing a cleric or shaman.

Where does the campaign start? Should we try and weave background to fit any particular hooks?

New to PFS but experienced with Pathfinder. Have just joined another PFS campaign but would love to get into another one. I have a first level Investigator ready to go.

Please sign me up.

Interested as well. New to PFS too!

Character: Zane Shivers
Race: Half-Orc
Class: Druid / 1
PFS: 276330-2

As mentioned earlier interested in playing an Aasimar Antipaladin, that is an ex-officer of the local army accused and found guilty of Desertion.

I am however a bit confused regarding VMC and the Tax Feat rules. Both are new to me and so I am struggling to build character. The Combat Stamina feat is only free for fighters? If I select as an Antipaladin can I Power Attack without the feat? How many times a day? Do I consume Stamina pool points each time I use Power Attack?

WhtKnt wrote:
I should add, however, that I do not expect you to adhere to old-school thinking when it comes to race/class combinations; all options are available! Bring on the dwarf wizards and elf barbarians!

Following the dwarf themed party, and your call for non-traditional combinations, I would like to nominate an empyreal dwarven Sorcerer (wisdom based) that hates elves, Drow in particular, and ready to dish out some old-school butt kickin'.

Dotting.

Interested in playing an aasimar antipaladin.

Dude I would love to play this. I played the AD&D 1st edition version as a kid. Many, many, many years ago.

Do not remember much, but had a blast.

You will get a lot of interest. Sign me up and I hope you do this.

@GM Blake: I completely understand and thank you for the detailed response. I will get a PFS character built and hopefully be able to join a game in the future.

Best of luck to all and enjoy the session.

I am interested in playing but have never done a PFS campaign. Do I need to register character first? Where?

Thanks for helping out. I have a lot of RPG and Pathfinder experience. Just no PFS.

Character Tiago Mezinas is now complete. He is a half-orc arcane duelist bard. I have summarized character info and response to Motteditor's questions. So all should be here in one place.

Concept:

A brash, conceited and unscrupulous scoundrel, Tiago uses his great wit, charm and good looks to enjoy life working as little as possible. Hailing from distant Varisia he has found refuge and acceptance in the small town of Phaendar which has welcomed him despite his obvious Sczarni descent.

Why Phaendar?
He does not answer that question directly, but turns solemnly away and speaks of lost love and regret... He has known hardship on his travels from Varisia, confronted bigots and preconceptions because of his Sczarni roots and mixed heritage. But Phaendar was different. He was accepted, not judged, and given the opportunity to prove himself and his worth. Despite the orc blood that runs through his veins, he identifies completely with his human mother, is ashamed of his orc heritage and despises his father who was “just a sperm donor that forced himself on his mother”.

He has made many friends in the short years he has called Phaendar home. In particular, he has grown attached to the owner of ??? tavern Travis Vane, his wife Martha and their children Rusty and Rose. They remind him of his brothers and sisters he left in Korvosa who he misses terribly, and wishes to see again soon. He has a special affinity with children, and enjoys playing with them, hearing them laugh at his tall tales and raunchy limericks, and so has built a small following of loyal little fans that look for every opportunity to hear him play.

Appearance and Personality:

Tiago is a towering, muscular and ruggedly handsome half-orc that is covered in delicate and intricate tattoos that cover most of his body.

Experience with PbP / RPG:

I have been playing RPG's for a loooong time. PbP not so much. I started a few campaigns a couple of years ago when I moved overseas and could not play IRL. I enjoyed the campaigns but had to give up the games when I encountered internet connectivity issues in the remote work areas. I am back now in a real city again, so I will have no problems keeping up with at least 1 or 2 posts a day. I am at EST+1 (Buenos Aires, Argentina) but will be moving back to CST in 4-6 months from now. Best times to post for me are in the evenings and occasionally around lunch time.

@Isin -- Is Tiago human? You mention mixed heritage, so wasn't completely sure.

I am debating between half-orc bard or Tiefling (is that core?) Investigator with heavy bard inluence (i.e. skilled in Perform and acts like a bard initially, and grows and develops into a Sage or Lore Keeper).

I am tweaking character concept and now working on character details. Will post a revision tomorrow.

Character: Tiago Mezinas

Concept: A brash, conceited and unscrupulous scoundrel that uses his great wit, charm and good looks to enjoy life working as little as possible. Hailing from distant Varisia he has found refuge and acceptance in the small town of Phaendar which has welcomed him despite his obvious Sczarni descent. He performs at all the local taverns, festivals, weddings, birthdays, special occasions and knows everyone in town.

He has made many friends in the short years he has called Phaendar home. In particular he has grown attached to the owner of ??? tavern Travis Vane, his wife Martha and their children Rusty and Rose. They remind him of his brothers and sisters he left in Korvosa who he misses terribly, and wishes to see again soon.

Character Development:
He is a traditional bard-type, that is more talented at performing than melee. He will develop his natural magical talents over time, and play a support role buffing party members during combat, and building relationships with NPC's outside.

Experience with PbP / RPG:
I have been playing RPG's for a loooong time. PbP not so much. I started a few campaigns a couple of years ago when I moved overseas and could not play IRL. I enjoyed the games (will post links once I figure out how to do it), but had to give up the games when I had internet connectivity issues in remote work areas.
