Xukong
|
Player name: I'm Hiding In Your Closet
Character Name: Xukong
PFS #: #40025-10
Day Job: Craft (Metalworking): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Advancement Track: normal
NB: I'm presently still awaiting my Chronicle from my most recent adventure.
@Malvic Trist: If you want my opinion, it's actually better to roll for a Day Job than take 10, as they subtly incentivize doing so by making the upper limit of what one can earn on a good roll farther above the result of the average than the result of a poor roll is below the average (i.e. with a +4 modifier, you'll get 5 gold from taking 10, but if you roll, you'll get 4 less at worst and 15 more at best).
@Isin Ghar: So far, a healer is looking like an awfully good idea (note that I have "special needs" regarding that, but I mostly provide for myself).
Valon Soranus

Okay, it appears everyone has checked in! I'm not going to start until tomorrow morning at earliest, more likely the late afternoon, when I get home from work. Here are two tidbits I think it would be helpful for you to know, short of spoiling anything:
Drukpa Marpo
|
A skills scenario... well, 5 INT Drukpa may not find the start of his Batfinder career that easy...
GM, would you prefer a different character? I’ve got a Wizard 1/Rogue 1 who’s a lot more skilled, to put it mildly...

It's ultimately up to you, of course, but it does sound like a good idea, considering.

Thanks for the tip on dayjob rolls. I will start doing that.
Also super excited to see a Herald Caller as I have always wanted to build one but holding out for the near-impossible chance I get an aasimar boon.
Also I can tag out to Alchemist if needed. Whatever helps us flow better. Just chose the Magus so I could have a level 2 in PFS, haha.

As Xukong said, it's obviously your call. Although I may have been a bit unclear about the skill factor. Basically, unless you have just the right character, there's going to be some part of this you don't do very well on, if you can attempt it at all. Drukpa, for example, would do pretty well on Strength-based checks despite his few skill ranks. Your wizard/rogue would likely not do as well there, but they'd have other useful skills, and probably more of them.
All in all, the latter character would likely be a bit better, but Drukpa would by no means be bad, despite low Int. I say pick whichever one you'd rather play.
Drukpa Marpo
|
I'll stick with Drukpa - he's ready to go and the other one would need a bit of time to get prepped. Besides, Drukpa's already had one attempt to begin his "Batfinder" career go awry - I'd hate for him to get discouraged!

I'm finding that I can do that with the Paizo Campaign Tools browser add-on (I'm using Chrome, I think there's also a Firefox version).

Sadly I mostly only get a chance to post while at work, and as with most office spaces for non-management, I can't add things like that to my browser. Despite the fact that I've come across at least 4 things I could do to optimize my workspace in the 8 months I've been here.

For GM Crunch: Here is the Item Hardness/HP Quick Reference
GM Crunch
|
I completely forgot about this up until now, but I have put pictures of Sorrina and Reyshal (as well as your tokens) on the first slide of the presentation.
@Jomanda: Thanks, this looks quite useful! I'm going to shamelessly steal it add it to my suite of tools to augment my GMing and provide the best experience possible for everyone. I assume you'll putting it to use? I notice you have Improved Sunder.
Jomanda Josebeth
|
Yes indeedy! Jomanda's entire character concept is "If you need to fight with a weapon, you're not man enough", and then she snaps your sword in half with her fists.
I was planning on a Pummeling Style build for sundering, but I learned that (for whatever weird reason) the Pummeling Style effect only works on DR, not hardness.
GM Crunch
|
Are you a JoJo fan? I wasn't thinking about it until your last post, I didn't notice your name did that up to then. The description was also great.
Jomanda Josebeth
|
For the most part, yes. I haven't really been keeping up with Diamond is Unbreakable, but the first two seasons were great. Honestly just not the biggest fan of the Stands(otherwise I'd be a summoner). The original idea was to "ORA ORA ORA ORA" someone's sword/armor to pieces with Pummeling Strike into Greater Sunder for punch-through damage. It does seem like I can still do that, just can't bypass the hardness with it (??)
The jury is still out on that one, I need to see if I can get a FAQ for it, and the Rules Forums has been less than helpful. I need to know if only the 'hit' that finishes off breaking the weapon will count with Greater Sunder or if it will allow me to add all the hits (minus hardness for each one) and then count that as the damage to the object.

On another note, Malvic, what line are you putting that Spoiler tag in to get it to go beneath the other stats? I was wanting to do that with my Spells Per Day data on a different character.
Malvic Trist
|
Most of my information is in Race (The top line). The skills are on Classes/Levels with a spoiler tag as normal. My class info "Magus (Bladebound Hexcrafter) 1" is on Gender which shows up in front of the Race line. Hopefully that made sense. I forgot who I got the template from.
Kondor Vy'Zanth
|
@GM Crunch: I built Kondor for this adventure, but just today completed first PFS scenario for another character: half-orc druid.
I would like to continue advancing that character. Since we have not really started yet, can I swap out characters, or do you prefer I keep using Kondor? I am completely fine with staying with Kondor, just would like to continue advancing Zane Shivers.
Player name: Isin Ghar
Character Name: Zane Shivers
PFS #: 276330-2
Day Job: None
Advancement Track: Normal
GM Crunch
|
Your call, and I'm fine with it, given that we haven't really started the adventure proper yet. It seems you'd rather play Zane, so be my guest!
Malvic Trist
|
I have been having the same problems JoJo. Some computers are letting me on but not others.
Valon Soranus
|
I've been basically unable to even access the website for a few days, let alone post. I don't know if it's just me, but I'll try to figure out the issue as soon as I can.
Kondor Vy'Zanth
|
I will be traveling tonight (10 hour flight - groan) and then at work meetings most of next week. Will try and post daily (evenings) but may not be able to every day.
GM Crunch
|
Thanks for saying in advance! I neglected to mention that Saturday is my PFS day, and sometimes also my home-game, so today I'll be out from 1400 to Late.
Drukpa Marpo
|
On Thursday I will be flying to Taiwan for a conference and will return the following Wednesday. I expect that I'll have internet access but my posting may be sporadic over this time. Feel free to bot me as needed.
GM Crunch
|
I'll see what I can do if necessary, hopefully it won't come to that, though. I don't think I could do it justice.
Xukong
|
Can NOBODY disarm that trap???
Valon Soranus
|
It doesn't look like it. It also looks like getting over that wall is going to be next to impossible either way.
Kondor Vy'Zanth
|
@GM Crunch: for the wall climbing trial how is the no magic being enforced? Kondor would like to summon a celestial dire rat to climb the wall and activate the tripwire. Then team can proceed. Would that be possible or against the rules?
Malvic Trist
|
If not one of us can just try to trigger it purposely then try to get out of the way?
GM Crunch
|
@Kondor: You'd have to wait to see, mostly. Othis would likely be mad, but she usually is. It would probably make her less so than something more direct, as the rat isn't otherwise helping you climb the wall.
Yeah, this part is quite annoying. It's all but impossible for those with low or negative Strength to get over, though we don't have as much trouble there. Either way, the wall is still very hard.
GM Crunch
|
It's an attack roll versus those on the wall, so you'll want to get off for the time being. Looks as if Kondor is implementing his idea.
Drukpa Marpo
|
Heading to the airport for the long journey home (about 24 hours of flying). I'll likely have internet access along the way but in case I don't I may not be online again before Thursday morning (EST). Feel free to bot me as needed.

I hope nobody's waiting for ME.
I know I was the one who was addressed, but I'm afraid I'm not sure what to say. I've been hoping somebody would jump in.

Anyone can answer, however they see fit. It is New Year's Eve, but perhaps tomorrow if no one has I'll assume you tell her who your CO is and move on.
