![]() I'm giving it a try now. A little slow to get stuff entered, but seems worth the money. If anything, I'd suggest some way to make a character's turn "hidden" from players when rolling initiative. Sometimes players don't know all the enemies in the fight, and having 5 enemies on the tracker but only 3 visible might give info away. Also, a way to just flat out remove a single something from initiative order would be good. That way we don't have to skip over it. ![]()

![]() Essentially asking to use Channel Smite without having to take Channel Smite? That's pretty obviously not intended. I also don't think that a strike fulfills the requirements of a somatic component, because a providing a somatic component is a manipulate action and a strike is not. Making them openly interchangeable would not play well with grappling rules. Also, what does Emblazon Weapon have to do with this? Nothing about emblazon weapon indicates the weapon replaces somatic components. The weapon becomes a divine focus and a divine focus replaces MATERIAL components. Quote:
Emblazon weapon saves you from having to switch items around or drop your weapon if your second hand is unable to present your focus or provide material components, like if you've got a shield strapped on it. ![]()

![]() I'm a player in this AP, and we just got to the point where we are getting our agents, in our Cult of Personality. I decided to make some tables to generate descriptions and backgrounds for my agents, and threw together some tables. Hopefully this will make it seem more like a motley crew of locals throwing themselves in to help the cause than "you have some agents. They do things." One note that didn't fit on the page with the table: For a more "courtly" agent set, use 76-100 on the "Commoner" table instead of the whole table. War For The Crown Agent Tables Feedback greatly appreciated, as this is my first stab at such a thing. ![]()

![]() As an Inquisitor, you've got access to lots of things! Silence and Invisibility are second level spells for you. If you can get your hands on a Silent spell rod, and sneak into position, you can be a ball of caster-negation. Also, remember you have Litany of Sloth, which can help. Yes, it's a Will save to negate, but it is worth the shot. It will completely shut down a caster if it sticks when paired with Step Up. ![]()

![]() It depends on what type of weapons your ship is equipped with, and where the missile is coming from! There's a a starship weapon property called Point that can shoot incoming missiles as they get close to you. Point weapon property wrote:
While point weapons are great defensive measures, they are limited in offensive range and can only stop one missile per round. If you have two ships concentrating on one of your arcs with targeting weapons then your point weapon can only try to stop one of them each round. ![]()
![]() I've been using this blog post from the devs which says that it's twice its tier (emphasis mine): Quote: Computers themselves are defined in their own section in the equipment chapter. In general, a computer has an item level equal to double its tier. A tier 1 computer might be something as simple as a common datapad, while a tier 10 computer may be running an entire space station or handling major systems for a large company. Beyond its tier, a computer is defined by its size, user interface, access and authorization, basic function, modules (which define what the computer can do or control beyond its basic functions, and may include controlling other devices or computers), and countermeasures. I don't see that in the CRB though, sadly. Between the quoted, and the needing ranks equal to twice the tier, I believe we've narrowed the intent. ![]()

![]() I agree with others that this is looking like you threaten both. I imagine that devs intended to specify somewhere that you only getting 5 ft. or 10 ft. and needing to switch your grip on your weapon to go between the two. Doesn't look like that made it in. Since they changed the action to switch your grip to a swift action (so you can only switch once on your turn and eat up your swift action) that may have been what they were going for. That's probably how I'm going to run it. But being able to threaten both at the same time probably isn't what they wanted. ![]()
![]() First off... *marks down to take a drink when not at work* Second, it's all based on intent in using such an item. My paladin has a hat of disguise. He doesn't use it to fool people or even fake his finery. He does it more to illustrate his points better. People usually know he's "in disguise" and there's no deceit to it at all. For example, a recent interaction was trying to get some info from some "less-than-bright" townsfolk, as we were chasing a man who went by several aliases. Paladin: Have you seen a man who looks like this? *hat of disguise to take a similar shape to the person we're looking for, and follows it with a pretty decent disguise check*

![]() Or you could keep Confirmation as is, then give them transfer orders to Varisia shortly after completion of their mission. In character, Sheila's lodge is in need of plenty of agents around the time that Shattered Start starts, chronologically. Then you can them travel on the Throaty Mermaid to Varisia with an elven wizard and his bodyguard. When they get off in Varisia, another team gets on to ride with the elven delegates. ![]()

![]() I'm running a group through an adventure path and at every level I give out up two little cards with a quill on it that give players a direct way to influence the story or characters. At every level players have a little election to give one quill to who they thought deserved a quill, for whatever reason. If there aren't a ton of quills floating out there, I choose one of the remaining players for whatever reason I choose. Example, while level 1 the barbarian started a great in-joke that the party still uses to this day (three years later, and currently level 12) and got himself one of the first quills. Players can cash in their quill to ask if small details can change. As example, the half-orc barbarian wanted to marry into nobility to claim a title. She's a human, and he's a half-orc that hates humans because humans are so prejudiced against half-orcs. The NPC as written would have been very okay with it, because she got to keep a title (her husband died). So the barbarian traded in his quill to make the noblewoman unhappy with this marriage. And now they're both unhappily married in-character, but it gives more plot points that are in the player control. It's helped reward people that the party felt carried their weight or added to the fun, and it's helped me draw some players out of their shells and into the game a bit more. ![]()

Hello! Thanks for considering giving OP a shot. The characters that are used for OP are from the respective class decks. If there's a copy of your character in a base set, then you can use them as instead of the one from your class deck. For example, you could use Kyra from the Rise of the Runelords or Wrath of the Righteous base sets with the class deck because Kyra appears in the class deck. ![]()

![]() Sundering, or at least use it very sparingly. As a GM, I can throw monster after monster at them, with little/no loss when they get ripped to shreds. But permanently damaging a character's weapon is a bit harsh when they cannot find a caster high enough level to Make Whole a high level weapon. ![]()
![]() All of the Advanced Players Guide iconic characters* (Alchemist, Cavalier, Inquisitor, Oracle, Witch) are being worked on. See blog post here. *NOTE: The Summoner has an Unchained pregen available in Fane of Fangs, but given its legality in PFS now, the APG one is probably not going to be a thing. Edited to add: You may want to look at the materials the pregen for Master of Fallen Fortress has, as a base. That may have not been available to you at the time, though. ![]()
![]() I'm personally against it. I feel like a lot of adventures make balance assumptions based on what players are able to bring to the table. It's almost imperative that writers have some sort of assurance as to what players will and will not have access to. As an anecdote, I've seen a 1-7 scenario (people will probably be able to guess which one it is) almost ruined in premise because a level 7 cleric had access to a particular 3th level cleric spell played down to tier 3-4. I mean, it wasn't a matter of being more effective in combat. It was a matter of major plot points gone in a few minutes. Things like this are the reasons why the tiers have started to shrink a bit since the start of Pathfinder Society. Not just combat-wise, but skill and ability wise, it's hard to challenge things as the levels increase. A 50-foot drop in your way is a killer for level 1-2, and a bruiser for levels 4-5. At 7, players may have flight, feather fall, great climb scores, earth manipulation, magical ropes that they can just thrown about. ![]()
![]() After some messy splattering of enemy combatants, my gnome wizard headed into the hallway and had to take his pants off after combat. Shortly thereafter, more people rush into the hallway. To play it off and stall before the NPCs could get into the room, the gnome starts dancing. It's now known as Magic Mike XXS. ![]()
![]() Personally, I think the restrictions make it much easier to actually do the stat-wise construction of a Summoner. After reading it over, I'm not as reticent to introduce newer players to the Unchained Summoner. That's a bit of relief. I think the biggest challenge is negotiating flavor. I had a blob of GM credit sitting at 2nd level (not yet played at 2nd, sadly) that I was going to make a fiery dragon-riding LG halfling holy crusader. All good fluff-wise, but literally unable to make with Unchained Summoner rules. I think that it stand at odds with the flavor of the original class ("I made this with my imagination, and it likes me!") that someone Lawful Good cannot imagine a mount. ![]()
![]() (Before going any further... look at the post date!) It seems there's a Venture Officer in the Metro Boston area who's been running a lot of games. Obviously forced, to spare his ego and all. Obviously. What? He's got over 250 tables of GM credit?! *shrug*
It's my extreme displeasure to announce that VL R. Diaz will never... evereverever... get his fifth GM Star. EVER! Congratulations to our VL, R. Diaz, on earning his fifth GM star. ![]() The general consensus is "This is a cooperative game. If your build is getting in the way of your party's enjoyment, then you may want to rethink it." That said, depending on the table, those still may be very effective options and definitely welcomed. Just be able to operate without it. I've had an entire scenario where no one was hit because all of the PCs could deal with the Darkness cast by a PC, and NPCs could not. ![]()

![]() On a personal note, I just wanted to thank Mark and his girlfriend Linda for working so hard to get Boston PFS to where it is today. When I first started playing, there were only four or five people showing up at Pandemonium, and not always on a regular basis. In my very first session, I had the pleasure of having Linda turn half of our party into monkeys and have the rest of us fear anything remotely foggy. Mark was very encouraging of my horribly ineffective dwarven cleric who could do nothing but ask "Do I heal now?" as Mark's character got tossed around by a crocodile and a sorcerer peeled back his eyelids and stretched out his arms a lot. With their work, we've gone from wondering if we'd get three or four people to play each week, to trying to figure out how to split three or four tables a week. Your presence will be greatly missed. I know a lot of players in the area are voracious consumers of Pathfinder rules and/or lore thanks to watching you two and what you can do with it. You will most definitely be missed. Feel free to stop by and join a game! ![]()
