For persistent damage (such as the bleed critical effect), if the damage is listed as a damage die (e.g. 1d6), do you roll that damage once (immediately) and apply the constant value each round, or do you roll the damage each round (so the damage taken is variable)? I had always assumed the latter, but I played with a GM that did the former. The PF2 rules explicitly state that damage dice are re-rolled every round for persistent damage, but I couldn't find such a clarification for Starfinder. Did I miss it?
The organized play guide for PF2 used to have, under the "retail incentive program", a section describing that if you displayed certain Paizo products (shirts etc.) that you would get an extra consumable item from the Pathfindeer Training section. This was removed and now says (essentially) "coming soon". So is there currently no benefit for wearing a Pathfinder shirt to a PF2 Society game? I looked in a few other parts of the online guide but was unable to find anything. Do the perks at https://paizo.com/organizedplay/perks apply to PF2 now?
GinoA wrote: Two designs were available at GenCon, but I don't see either on the website yet. Both were solid black with a logo. One was the new PF2e logo (the one on the cover of the new CRB), the other the PFS 2e logo (seen at http://www.organizedplayfoundation.org/encyclopedia/pfs2guide/. Excellent, thanks! Hopefully these are just around the corner.
My book arrived slightly warped, but that seems to have gone away since I store it flat with a few heavy books on top of it. But I haven't had any binding issues, and I've opened the book many times, and taken it places in a pack with probably not-so-gentle handling. If you take your book to B&N and show them the damage, they might exchange it for a new copy; that's probably the fastest way to get a replacement (assuming they have more in stock).
Page 544 under "Splash Trait": "If an attack with a splash weapon fails, succeeds, or critically succeeds, all creatures within 5 feet of the target (including the target) take the listed splash damage. On a failure (but not a critical failure), the target of the attack still takes the splash damage." As written, the second sentence is redundant. But I think the error is actually with the first sentence, which should probably read, "If an attack with a splash weapon succeeds, or critically succeeds ..." (removing the fail case). This interpretation is supported by the example in the paragraph just below that one. -- Page 535 in the "Notable Item Traits" sidebar, under "Consumable": "Consumable items include alchemical items (Page 543) as well as ammunition oils, potions, scrolls, snares, talismans, and other magical consumables ..." There should be a comma between "ammunition" and "oils".
On the Mac I find that to get the "Two Sided" checkbox I often have to click the "Printer..." button (usually located near the bottom left of the print dialog box), which brings up a second print dialog box that has the option available. Check it and click "Print" (which won't actually start the print job, it'll just save the setting), and then it will work.

I was under the impression that after those 4 days you will have crafted the item at half the cost, and every day after that would reduce the cost by some amount (I don't have the CRB with me now to quote specifics, unfortunately). So in an 8 day period, you can craft 2 items at half price. Is this not correct?
Also from here: "Crafting: Some characters may choose to spend their time Crafting a piece of equipment. This works as described on pages 503–504 the Core Rulebook." Crafting is described on pages 244-245 of the CRB.
(Still not sure how best to report issues, so just dropping them here; please let me know if there is a better way.) Typo in the this section: "The Task Level of you Earn Income check ...", should be "your Earn Income check".
I'm not sure where to report things like this, so I'll just post it here: on this page, it lists an "owlbear charm" in Table 2 (Scrolls Items), but I think this is supposed to be an "owlbear claw" (at least, I could not find an owlbear charm).

Thanks! That means the sentence I pointed out is not a mistake.
I try to keep the cards alphabetized. In PF1 and Starfinder they are double-sided, so I just flip one or two of each type over when sorting (PF1 was best since there were 4 of each; Starfinder has only 3 of each so it's less ideal). Not sure if that's possible with the new ones, I don't have them yet.

I think it just means that your next attack will use the multiple attack penalty as if you already took two attacks. So the power attack will be at no penalty, but the next attack will be at -10 (or whatever your penalty is for a third attack).
VestOfHolding: thanks so much for maintaining this list! This may or may not be an issue: on page 73 under the Mutagenist research field for alchemists, it states, "You can gain the benefit of any mutagen, even if it wasn't specifically brewed for you." I don't see anything that states that mutagens only affect specific individuals (or only the alchemist that created them); did I miss that? If not, then what is the point of this sentence? Is it a mistake, or future-proofing? I also noticed that on page 544, under "Splash Trait", the example damage for the lesser acid flask doesn't include the 1 point of acid damage that isn't splash or persistent damage (see the main entry under "Acid Flask").
This might be a good starting point for online play. You might also try rpggeek.com, as I think they do play-by-post games.
PFSocietyInitiate wrote: To me it looks like power attack doesn't make your attack take a -5 penalty but it means your second attack is getting a -10 (-8 if agile). That makes it way better but I don't know if that's the correct interpretation. I hope someone from Paizo can chime in and tell us. That's how I read it as well.
Yes, a smiley face helps. :) Hard to determine tone/intent with bare text. Apologies for jumping on you. IMO they probably shouldn't push out a software update to their website just before a holiday (or weekend) just in case something like this happens. But that's neither here nor there. I'm going to go ahead and purchase the items in my cart (at full price), as it appears this was all a mistake having to do with subscription pricing getting confused in the system.
xris wrote: I think the only issue is greedy people want to get those sales price back so they can purchase stuff on the cheap. "Hey, how dare you fix the problem, I haven't had a chance to buy at the cheaper, incorrect price!" This is uncalled for, and rude. The situation was confusing, and the statement by the software developer was somewhat vague. IMO a customer service rep should have commented on this with an official statement, as several customers ran into it. In general (at least in the US), when a company advertises a price, they often honor that price even if it's a mistake. I'm not saying Paizo should do that in this case, but this is the what Bacchreus is referring to. https://smallbusiness.chron.com/company-advertising-price-wrong-responsible -mistake-73117.html I'm not sure if putting an item into your online cart is considered "making an offer". Again, I'm not saying Paizo should take any action beyond issuing a clarifying statement, but it's reasonable to bring this up, and doesn't make someone "greedy".
Familiarity with the Pathfinder RPG is probably needed for the back page. Although I suspect the ACG also has many of the terms you would need in it (I've only played it a few times, so I can't say that every single one is there). Brattany, I'm not sure what you mean by the second part of the story, but I'll give a general hint: Story puzzle hint: The words just before the square-bracketed numbers (e.g. "flame runts") represent a creature or spell, but they are wrong/backwards. Fill in the correct terms and use the clue inside the square brackets in a certain way to get closer to the final answer. If you need something more specific than this (I'm not sure how much to spoil) please post more details
So I signed my son and I up for this game, not realizing we had already played it. Rookie mistake. :-( But my loss is your gain -- if you (and a friend?) didn't get into a game in this time slot (or would prefer to switch to this one; I'd love a trade since we don't have any other games scheduled this day), DM me and we can arrange to meet sometime tomorrow (Friday) so I can give you the tickets. If I don't hear from anyone by ~11AM, I'll leave the tickets on the unused tickets table that afternoon (we won't be arriving until 12:30 or so).
Jason Keeley wrote: And if you like puzzles, Joe Pasini, Ron Lundeen, and myself will be talking about them in our Solving Puzzles seminar at 4pm on Friday. We'll have some copies of previous puzzle hunts there too! I've a game at this time and can't make it -- any chance this will be available on Twitch (or Youtube) afterwards? I'd love to see it.
Are you just going to the con, or are you planning on doing other activities while you are here? Either way, I wouldn't bring a heavy jacket. Springtime in Seattle is unpredictable, it may be 80 degrees one day, 60 the next, and mornings/evenings can be chilly, but it's not going to get really cold. Bring a few layers, maybe a sweatshirt and a rain shell you can wear over it, and you should be good for the con. If you are also planning on doing other outdoor activities, I'd probably bring one more layer just to be safe (though you probably won't need it even then). Organized Play Characters
