![]() "Food would be good. I'll take...how about second watch?" FYI unless I'm interpreting the rule wrong you don't have to have 8 hours of sleep to prepare spells. Yoh can sleep 4 take an hour for a watch turn and sleep four more. Sitting and looking at the fire still counts as resting. As long as a fight doesn't break out you're all right. ![]()

![]() "Are we talking about buying horses or renting them? I right like the sound of owning a horse." "So the job is finding Elias and/or delivering a letter. Sounds simple enough. Which of course means this will be very dangerous. 250 gold might not be worth it. Then again the Harrow says it will be. So I'm in." ![]()

![]() Grigore's eyes twinkle at the mention of his cards. "We seem to have a bit of time, I can cast a Harrow quickly. Not a full reading but a taste." Grigore shuffles his Harrow Deck quickly and somehow ends up with only 9 cards in his hands, "I have a feeling that we will see some trouble before all is said and done so we will use the suit of Keys." He lays the cards face down in a cube three by three and then turns them over. Having dealt with Grigore before the party is aware that in a Harrowing the left most column represents the past, the center column the present, and the right is the future. Grigore usually only interprets some of the cards, deciding which ones are important by inscrutable means. "Let's see we don't really need the past column. In the present we have a strongly aligned Cricket card, representing travel with a treasure at the end. This job will require us to go somewhere and we will be offered a reward. Here in the future column we have a misaligned Avalanche. There will be danger ahead but the misalignment means we have a chance to avoid it. Though the future is never set in stone." ![]()

![]() Grigore is a Varisian man and he pretty much looks like a normal specimen of such. He is wearing bright flowing clothes and has a deck of cards in his hand. He saunters on up to the door unworried as to whether the bar is open or not. This is where the message said to go after all. Once inside he takes a look around for anyone who looks especially governmenty. Instead he spots Faunra and Lash and approaches them. "Fancy seeing you two here. I knew I should've cast the Harrow before coming, I would've known there would be familiar faces present. I assume you're here because of a message from a Jeminda?" ![]()
![]() Eggellis here. Going to submit Grigore here. He is a cartomancer warlock(which is a witch but warlock sounds cooler). Stats are in profile. Background: Grigore's family has been fortune tellers for a generations. As Varisians the Harrow cards hold a special place for them. Not too long ago Grigore caught the attention of some Sczarni thugs who wanted to see the future before their nefarious dealings. Instead, Grigore skipped town and decided to try adventuring instead.
Grigore is a friendly fellow, most of the time. He has an easy laugh and enjoys talking to people. When performing a reading however, he is intense and can be a bit intimidating. ![]()

![]() Grigore sits quietly nursing a drink, still in a funk from all the death. When the old man comes in and starts slinging insults however he quickly leaves his seat, his anger barely contained. "Sir, you really need to do yourself a favor and turn around and walk right back out that door. I just got finished handing care packages out to widows and orphans. I am very much not in the mood for nonsense. You're obviously full of goblin dung anyway. Which is it? Are we professional mercenaries or untrained amateurs?" Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

![]() "Uh," Grigore seems flustered that the goblin walked over to him. In an attempt to keep the goblin from listening in he speaks to Yeda in her native language. Shoanti: "Well now that it's not going to attack the family, I guess we have a prisoner?" ![]()

![]() I am still here. For some reason it never said there were new messages so I thought we had stalled out or something. Just saw the private message. Also, the discussion thread is being all wonky so I'm putting this here. "I'm Grigore Miklos, and this is Zandu," he hurriedly introduces his owl as well before he can complain. "I think handing out care packages sounds like a good idea. I don't know how much more fighting I can handle." ![]()

![]() Grigore makes a few motions then points at one of the goblins attacking the dog in that strange two-fingered way. "Strakh!" His golden eyes flash a bit brighter as the magic flows away from him. Goblin Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16 Casting cause fear, it makes its save and will be shaken one round. ![]()

![]() After healing himself up Grigore looks around and finds that one goblin remains. There are still plenty of warriors around to finish it off so he forgoes using his knife and does what he does best. ![]() Grigore barely notices the greatsword go through the goblin before him. It stabbed me! "That little bugger stabbed me!" Grigore pulls his own dagger to respond in kind but finally realizes that it's dead. "Thanks," he says to the savage woman in front of him. Grigore casts a spell to stop the bleeding. ![]() 1st Gobbo's will save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14 The goblin Grigore cursed before seems to have shaken it off. He starts to hit it again when he notices the elk being surrounded. An elk fighting? Eh, I guess I've seen weirder. He decides to help the big animal instead. He sends another curse at the one in front of the elk. Gobbo will save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12 The goblin in front of Dewdrop has -2 ac for 7 rounds. I assumed that these are the regular goblins in the srd. ![]()

![]() Grigore walks about with Zandu, his owl familiar, perched on his shoulder. He takes in the festivities with a smile on his face. It takes someone pointing them out before he notices the goblins. Once he does he looks at Zandu for a moment. He has felt for a while that he was being led here, this attack seems to confirm so. In his mind anyway. He moves within range and holds out his right hand, his fingers in an odd formation. He points at a goblin with his index and pinky fingers, "Sglaz!" and sends a curse its way. Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Evil Eye hex. The goblin takes -2 ac for 1 round unless it fails a Will save DC14, then it's 7 rounds. ![]()

![]() Oh hey, just noticed that there were posts in this tab. I'd like to run something by you kind GM. Grigore has the Ancestors Patron. Would it be cool if his ancestors are the ancient Varisians who were slaves to the Thassilonians? Maybe they steered him here because they know something is brewing? ![]()
![]() Here is Eggellis' witch. He's actually a warlock but I've been saying witch to avoid confusion on which class I meant. I'll choose prompt number two. writing sample: Grigore is sitting at the bar flirting with the proprietor and generally having a good time. Not that he's the type to go around trying to take every lass he sees to bed mind you, he's just an affable fellow. Besides, he knows she's just playing along to keep him paying for drinks and he wants to be sure to play his part in the game.
As she walks over to another patron he turns to survey the room. That's when he sees trouble. The grumpy old man walks in and starts laying into the bartender. Grigore is not the type to let these things get out of hand if he can help it. He grabs his drink and walks over to the pair. He places a hand on the old man's shoulder and takes a swig from his glass before setting it on the bar. "Easy there friend," he says with a smile, "Haven't you heard that cooler heads always prevail?" Just as the old grouch is about to respond Grigore pulls his hand away from the man's shoulder holding a loose thread from his jacket. Grigore glares at the man with his golden eyes. Eyes that before seemed to be friendly and inviting. Eyes that were now unsettling, that actually belonged set into the face of a man who communes with unknown beings to learn magic. "I'd hate for things to get ugly in here." Grigore snaps with his free hand and the loose thread burns away. |
