Sazzat Tamm |
Tamm sheathes his sword, trusting that the big Shoanti can deal with the goblin if it double crosses them.
He pulls a rope from his pack and ties the goblin's hands.
Yeda |
Yeda nudges the goblin in the back of the head with the flat of her greatsword, hopefully giving sazzat a hint.
Sazzat Tamm |
"Let's get rid of this pest." Sazzat says to the others as he pulls the goblin out of the house by its bound hands.
He drags the goblin to the closest edge of the village to let it loose.
If any of the villagers interfere he tells them "The runt had a knife to a farmer's child and we bartered with it to spare the child in exchange for it's own life."
If they object further he responds "I gave my word to spare the child. Don't make me break faith with this miserable creature, the world is full of them. Sparing the child's life is worth letting it go free."
Yeda |
I could try to pick up a trail and follow it a ways.
She inspects the opening of the woods where Sazzat had set it free.
Survival to track: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Sorry... the runt's feet pads were too light to leave much of a distinct trail. We should check in at the Rusty Dragon to see if further help is needed.
Yeda |
Yeda smiles and accepts a mug of ale. She then sets out to spot Sheriff Hemlock and see if he doesn't have more information about this goblin raid. Was it random nonsense or is something up?
DM Greaek |
Ameiko nods and says "Well said, but you did all you could and that saved many lives, your real Heroes" and she takes a swig out of a mug before handing it to Bethana to give to whoever ordered it. She then goes back to the kitchen. There is a few seconds of calm before the door slams open and in comes a old man who looks pretty pissed. "Where the hell is my daughter" and the room goes dead silent. The old man walks through the room looking for Ameiko, before his eyes land on you four "Get the hell out here young lady, we need to talk. And as for you four, the so called 'Heroes of Sandpoint' ha, more like Heroes got hire, doing this for all the attention and favors. You were and still are more of a danger to the town then the goblins you fought in your flight of antics, instead of leaving the work to the trained professionals. The only reason you fought for us was the goblins didn't offer to pay you." and he pauses.
Grigore Miklos |
Grigore sits quietly nursing a drink, still in a funk from all the death. When the old man comes in and starts slinging insults however he quickly leaves his seat, his anger barely contained.
"Sir, you really need to do yourself a favor and turn around and walk right back out that door. I just got finished handing care packages out to widows and orphans. I am very much not in the mood for nonsense. You're obviously full of goblin dung anyway. Which is it? Are we professional mercenaries or untrained amateurs?"

Naturally...
Corrin Whisperwind |
He had been happily enjoying the drinks in the quaint tavern only checking outside every so often to make sure no fool was bothering Dewdrop who was contently sitting outside just enjoying the day it seemed.
He frowned as the old man entered tilting his head sideways staring at him blankly for a moment. Is he drunk? he wondered to himself reaching up and running a hand through his hair.
He had been about to ask the old man about the idea they had been paid, if anyone else had recieved money for their actions it was certainly news to him, but then the blond human... Grigore he believed the name was confronted him.
"Yeah, you should leave. Your words will only stir up resentment."
He added moving to stand beside and slightly behind Grigore in support.
Sazzat Tamm |
"Easy there friend. It's been a long, hot day between the festival, the attack, and the cleanup." Tamm says with open hands and trying to form a smile after all the bloodshed.
"No one wants any trouble here. I don't know you and I don't know your daughter."
"Why don't you let everyone here settle down in peace. There are those who are hurt and those who are mourning. They don't need any added troubles." he continues, trying to calm the situation.

DM Greaek |
"I'll be quiet and leave, but first I must see my daughter"
Ameiko comes out with a ladle dripping with soup says "You wanted to see me you old bastard, ¥¢π€°€^"¥¢•`÷ and through her sentence the languages switches to a language none of you understand (minkaian) and they argue loudly. And then the yelling stops and the man tries to grab Ameiko by the hair , but she dodges and hits him in the head with the soup ladle, spilling fish stock and potatoes on his hair and outfit. Ameiko says angrily "Now get the hell out of my tavern you insufferable bastard". Lonjiku walks to the door before he turns to Ameiko and says "your as dead to be as your mother" and he walks out the door. Ameiko turns to the people on the tavern "he said that he was moving to Magnimar, and I either had to leave Sandpoint and move to Magnimar with him, or be cut out of the will. I told him where he could stick his inheritance. I guess you guys are my family now. Well I need a new ladle, as I suppose none of you want jackass stew for dinner"
Yeda |
Back!
Yeda smiles satisfactorily at seeing the old man leave the tavern dejected.
Good for you Ameiko! It's amazing that people in this culture think that they can purchase your obedience... She strains to think of any similar behaviors within her native Shoanti tribe.
Yeda |
You don't say? How does it compare to Riddleport? I had a little run-in myself there. I rather like this smaller, quaint town. As long as goblin raids don't break out too often, that is.
Yeda |
I'm being told that all are waiting on me, but unless I'm missing something yeda asked the last question...
Yeda |
No problem at all! Just happy to verify I’m not going crazy :)
Yeda |
"Only a madman or an a++&@@$ would regret living here, both words that apply to my father. I firmly believe this place is the best in the world, and I would rather die than leave"
Yeda considers Ameiko's words innocently as a newcomer, but carefully. She finishes loosening the strap that holds her greatsword scabbard to her back, leisurely setting it to rest next to her barstool. She slowly trades alertness for comfort, settling in as the conversation proceeds.
Perhaps there is much yet for me to discover about Sandpoint. It seems comfortable enough, perhaps I'll extend my stay here somewhat longer and see what it has to offer. Ameiko, apart from the rare goblin raid, are there other problems that threaten Sandpoint's perfection?
If there's a better hook to get us into a sidequest or specific plot thread, let us know. I don't mean to take Ameiko in aimless directions with irrelevant questions.
DM Greaek |
"well there's the sand point devil, and if you wanted to talk to the sheriff I could see if he could come in in the morning"
plot hooks will present themsevles, all you guys have to do is bite them
Sazzat is left alone by Yeda, the other companions scattered to the winds, until he is approached by an attractive young woman who sits down in the chair across from Sazzat "you are Sazzat, of the Heroes of Sandpoint, correct? I hope you could possibly help me, I feel like my father has been cheating on my mother, exciting our home from a secret door in the basement in the middle of the night. I would appreciate it if you could come and see if there is a secret door. I would repay you with a bottle of fine alcohol, if you would be so kind
Yeda |
Yeda keeps her relaxed demeanor at her table, but listens in a bit when the woman approaches Sazzat.
Sazzat Tamm |
"Why is it that you're suspicious of your father? What kind of work is he in? Maybe he has business that is taking him out at night."
Tamm tries to gauge the girl's motives.
sense motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
Sazzat Tamm |
"We'll it does sound suspicious that he would be sneaking out at night." Tamm answers.
Tamm tries to remember anything he's heard about a merchant named Vinder and his business and family.
knowledge(local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
"If you really feel you need help, I don't see how I can refuse."
DM Greaek |
Ok. You guys make your way to the general store, and around the back there is a window about 10 feet up from the ground with a rope hanging from it. Shayliss turns to you and says "This leads to my sister's room, she's off with her boyfriend at the lumbermill, so she won't be here. We'll stealth downstairs and we'll lie in wait. Father has the keys, and he's not here. I presume you can sneak around, from what I've heard it's your forte. and she begins to climb up the rope, reaching the top and gesturing for you to follow
