after what happeneed there , the heavily double standards rules/guidelines/policies, bad PR, etc... I humbly request that this account be closed.

Thanks.

I appologize I am one of the reasons the Asmodeus the Misogynist thread went bad and had to be closed.

I think my problem is that few of the Good gods have "ugly" flaws. Bigotry, a mean sense of humor, a bad temper—these are failings that Good people can have, as long as they don't go too far. I find those flaws a bit more interesting than "My problem is I love too much", which kind of sounds like a would-be employee saying his problem is that he works too hard.

You mean having more douchebags amongst the Goods than the Evils, and amongst the Lawfuls than the Chaotics isn't a flaw? (big enough to rewrite the alignment system)

Good deities absoulutely CAN have flaws. Iomedae is really impatient and humorless. Desna is impulsive and doesn't think of the long-term ramifications of her actions. Cayden Cailean is a drunkard. Torag is too bound by traditions. Shelyn is blinded by her love for her brother. Sarenrae is a bit too forgiving. They CAN have flaws, and that makes them more interesting, but which flaws are the RIGHT flaws for any one deity to have is more or less up to me, as Paizo's Creative Director, to approve.

And I do not want to be in a position where something that looks like misogyny is upheld by a good deity... ANY good deity, but ESPECIALLY one who's supposed to be all about family and community. It's just nonsensical. And as such, it has been fixed.

So what you're saying is the goddess of mercy and forgiveness is "too" merciful and forgiving, the goddess of love's flaw is loving too much, the god synonymous with drinking has a problem with drinking, and the goddess of total freedom has way too much freedom?

... These are interesting flaws?

More that there point of view of their portfolio can be narrow minded and way too focussed.

My knowledge of Xavier's character is limited to the cartoons, the movies, and his really early days in the comics.

Based on the latter, and how much of a dick he was...you're probably right.

Most of my comic book knowledge is second-hand via shows like AT4W, or adapted media.

For what I know, if Xavier is still alive in the comics, he is probably still a douchebag.

At least Magneto doesn't hide the facts that he is quite the douche as well, unlike Xavier.

You would probbly still prefer Magneto to Charles Xavier (comic book wise anyway).

Aw c'mon, despite Erastil not being that backwards anymore, not all Good deities are perfect. Iomedae waterboards people using electricity and Ragathiel is an omnicidial psychopath. Cayden is a horrible example for the young, Desna is a commie hippie, Shelyn is a hippie commie, Torag is just plain inhuman and Sarenrae failed to kill Rovagug, which clearly means she's in cahoots with him.

Re: Toning down good gods - I think a lot of that is happening because of folks actively misinterpreting the deity articles in the worst possible way ("This LG god advocates genocide!" or "This LG god thinks adventuring is stupidly dangerous and isn't comfortable with any of his clerics adventuring, so he's a misogynist"), so that Paizo then goes back and re-writes the articles to leave far less room for interpretion.

Ragathiel is probably LG because making him a CE Demon would be too close to DnD's Blood War. And probably because the game is more "Good vs Evil" than "Chaos vs Order"

Doesn't part of him want to turn everyone into mutants?

Closer to "activate the latent X-gene of many seemingly normal humans".

This has the unfortunate side effect of killing everyone who DOESN'T have that gene but you know, omelets, eggs, whatever.

In one Arc, he almost had the opportunity to do it via rewritting reality.

There are also a few Arcs where things like that happened via Reality Warpind, Time Travel, etc...

They've stated repeatedly that they have no intention of splitting the CS line, based on what happened to TSR. (Maybe one day their position will change, of course.)

I'd love a Dragon Empires/Casmaron/Arcadia hardcover, though. ^_^

This is why I added the expansion option (granted, it was misspelled), not make a new verse, 'just' make the existing one bigger.

Yeah, they said from the start that this wasn't the Devil version of Wrath of the Righteous.

Campaign Traits and modified Noble Scion feat: no option to play a rebelious Thrune?

Not as written. A GM can adjust so it's possible, I suppose, but there may be some elements of the AP that might function weirdly if a PC is a Thrune...

Would make a few things easier at first (lot of places where one can use the front door), then quite harder (ending up with one Hell of a bounty, or 666).

Hell's Vengeance might have ties with at least 2 AP (CoT and Hell's Rebels) if somewhat directly, to around half of them if somewhat indirectly.

I don't think so, but Know Direction mentioned it in brief here, and they'll probably put up the recording of the announcement at GenCon fairly soon, though for now I believe they only have the Adventure Path Question & Answer part up, though I'm sure that will change soon enough.

Thanks! :)

It's a long way off, but I'm already very interested. My campaign is equal parts fantasy/gothic horror- new options will be great to have. I've been wanting a more playable vampire for a long time, so I hope that's explored. The template in the Bestiary is not so useful for players.

It sounds like they hinted at players becoming vampires, albeit in a slower and more balanced progression than the Bestiary method.

Probably slowly gaining abilities and weaknesses as time passes, and depending on the number of people you feed on. This is just conjecture, but there might even be instances to try and oppose the cravings and further transformation by making a Will or Fort save - think Louis from Interview With the Vampire.

kinda like TESV: Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC?

We got some playtests for Ultimate Intrigues recently, so if anything in Horror Adventures need any playtests, it would be somewhere between the end of October and the start of January, which is also when we should expect more detailed official info.

Erm, not my decision. I'm only a freelance artist and not a member of the Paizo design team.

They haven't made you an Honorary Paizo Staffer yet?

On topic: Is there any type of request that would make you go crazy and you would end up drawing dozens of pages of?

There isn't really any one subject that I have difficulty depicting.

There can be occasions where an equipment design can be elusive - where a weapon shape, armour design or clothing pattern isn't quite working. These are the instances that involve a number of alternative sketch design until I get something that looks right. It can take a few pages of my sketchbook until I'm able to create the appropriate design.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant crazy as in; the subject interest and inspire you so much you go overboard, you end up drawing way more than neccessary?

I think that's a great idea. If, once the game has settled down, you feel like you've got room for a second group then great. Much better than starting two, burning out and dropping both.

I agree with that.

Oh absolutely, happy for anyone who wants to to follow along. I wish I could take everyone who expressed interest but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew.

All in a single group would be hard.

Multiple groups/games is another option (with its own problems).

What I WOULDN'T mind seeing is not so much a hard-and-fast Rulebook, but an Epic Adventures Guide - something like the GameMastery Guide that covers theories, tips, and very-minor rules for playing HD21+ games (as for Rules, mostly in the realm of templates for LV20+ monsters, lv20+ treasure, etc.).
I think a lot of people would really want one of these that covered HD 15+ rather than just 20+ considering all the complaints I've heard over the years about not being sure how to run high level games.

That too.

And I would say "raise the (level) ceiling", not remove it entirely.

(If you're responding to me...)

Yes, I know the difference between a protagonist and a "good guy". ^_^

The way I read Carrion Crown, though, it seems like the PCs are assumed to be (among other things) willing to help those in need. There are options for if they hold out, but the AP seems to assume that they want to save Ravengro/help the Beast/etc.

Book 5 is half-written around the assumption that the PCs are too moral/religious to even consider working with the (spoilers).

Many AP would be easier for Evil parties than good ones, if just for circumventing many magical traps, a good deal of the "But Thou Must" and/or "But Thou Can't", or alignment restricted awesome gears. Kinda like undead PCs would have an happy time in many AP.

Planar/Multiverse Adventures: Could be a good idea (setting Neutral), with a Campaign Setting book to supplement it.

Wilderness Adventures: that too, and Nature themed Archetypes for the non Nature Themed Classes.

High-Seas Adventures: Kinda wanted by many as well.

Ultimate Dungeons: Very needed, and not just by the customers.

(X Creatures) Codices: Hopefully with some "Good" (in quality, not Alignment) Player/PC options, Templates adjustements/Clarifications, etc...

Something I realized over the weekend: paizo hasn't really had an undead-themed AP yet. Yes, there was carrion crown, but 3 of the adventures didn't have anything to do with undead and the first one was more or less kind of loosely undead based. Haunts are essentially traps that you have to do some kind of story-based action to get rid of them.

The second was about frankenstein's monster and other golems. The third was all werewolves, all the time. The forth was lovecraftian monster. We don't really hit a genuine undead theme until book 5 with vampires and book 6 is liches.

There were a few zombie scenes, but no wights, ghouls, ghasts, etc. It was a classic horror themed AP, not an undead one. Heck, IIRC, we don't actually meet anyone from the cult itself until like the end of adventure 3.

Just something I noticed.

But I would like an Undead heavy AP which isn't kinda Construct/Golem heavy as well.
