I was looking forward to the final scene of Dren possibly breaking...does he open the gate at the end and let the Havero through to destroy the world...or at least set it on a path of utter chaos...OR does he take back his humanity and turn their power into his and become an agent of evil who serves mainly his own desires.

I was actually thinking I would let the dice roller decide at that point...

I thought everyone brought a unique twist to this campaign and you all did a great job adding depth to a PBP...this was one of the best that I have participated in. I looked forward to checking this PBP each and every day.

It did lose it's steam when we jumped levels but still had an intersting arc as we marched to the final stand-off. I did miss Kate and some of her flair for RP in the second part as well.

Dren summon forth his Rod of Quicken. He then casts Deeper Darkness on the rod. Surrounded by his familiar darkness he then attempts to pick apart Tiadora's mind.

Brain Drain (Su): You can take a standard action to violently probe the mind of a single intelligent enemy within 100 feet. The target receives a Will save to negate the effect and immediately knows the source of this harmful mental prying. Those who fail this save are wracked with pain, taking 1d4 points of damage for every oracle level you possess. After successfully attacking with this ability, you may use a full-round action to sort through the jumble of stolen thoughts and memories to make a single Knowledge check using the victim's skill bonus. The randomly stolen thoughts remain in your mind for a number of rounds equal to your Charisma modifier. Treat the knowledge gained as if you had used detect thoughts. This is a mind-affecting effect. You can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day at 5th level and for every five levels beyond 5th.

DC 26 Willpower. Don't forget her 1 Wisdom and negatives to her save vs. the positive number.

With Tiadora effectively out of the fight they should be much easier to handle. You should be able to dance with her for some time before she is smart enough to figure out to do something else.

Dren moves back 20 feet before turning back. Peering into the darkness, the one beyond what the mere humanoids see, he sees the tendrils around Tiadora's mind...it is like a locked cage...but there is a small gap in her impressive mental defenses.

Forcing his way into her mind he seeks to end her threat once and for all, The Havero wishes to speak with you my dear Tiadora. The power of the creature as it bursts through this gateway and seeks her mind is like a giant among goblins, scattering her thoughts and crushing any it can find!

Dren casts Feeblemind on her. If she can cast any Arcane spells she takes a -4 on her save. The Havero affect is my Mythic spell focus. She makes TWO saves and takes the lower. The willpower save DC is 27 or 31 is she casts any arcane spells. 1 Mythic points used.
If she fails her INT and WIS are 1 and she can no longer casts spells and is basically an animal, though a loyal one.

I removed all of my per minute spells since I assume those faded out and just left the 10 minute per level spells going unless you think we have been in here more than 2 1/2 hours.

We should find out what it is before freeing it. If it is an incorporeal being we have no way to deal with it...it can flee whenever it want without fulfilling its bargain. Let the little dragon speak to his higher beings...he may be able to learn more about what it is.

Assuming we have moved to this stage we would have some type of hideout or stronghold that we have protected against him with Private Sanctum. Otherwise he would just move against as he wished.

Stop screwing around with that useless old skull...I have learned some more important information from the Havero.
The Phylactery is in this chamber...it may be a heart. If it is not in one of the contaniers or chests we have found then it must be hidden in this room.
I will cast True Seeing on the most keen eyed one in the group and we should look for a hidden chamber or compartment. It is supposed to be protected by a trap.

I think that makes it no matter what, though I would like to get a ruling for future reference. The strict Core rules would suggest using INT, though it is a Supernatural ability of mine NOT a Spell-Like which isn't really talked about in the FAQ.

Dren's eyes go black and his consciousness reaches out across time and space to the place of nothingness...he doesn't sense movement...what he senses is a separate consciousness slowly moving towards him, threatening to overwhelm him...he focuses his mind and through force of will forces himself interact with the being...

Questions:

Master, our plan proceeds but first I must remove our main obstacle...the being known as the Cardinal.

1. Is this the Cardinals phylactery?
2. If not can you sense it in the place that I am in?
3. How do we use it to destroy the Cardinal?

Doug, since I am an Oracle and my stat is Charisma NOT Wisdom or Int I am assuming I would use my Charisma bonus? The spells in CORE don't contemplate the other base classes so for me I believe it should refer to Charisma. In my case since this is a supernatural ability of mine vs. the spell, it should work the same way.
Otherwise this ability for Oracles would be almost useless.

Dren's eyes turn black as he sits and begins a ritual to talk to the Havero...their otherworldy knowledge is beyond the others and may prove helpful in finding out more about what is here.

Read the Tapestry (Sp): Once per day, you can spend 10 minutes meditating on the mysteries of the Dark Tapestry to send your mind to another plane and communicate with the strange or alien beings there. This functions as the contact other plane spell.

Is it incurable (from a spell perspective)? Meaning will Restoration not remove it?

Is there a knowledge check we can make to try and see how to remove it?

Just a +1 for fear, but the prayer may have...if you were within the 40' range. I cast it on the dragon and since you were on my side it would have been logical that you were caught in it.

Fools! All of you fools! Teleporting away so it attacks me...do you realize I am the only one that can keep you all alive.
You know while I am alive it is difficult for ANYTHING to kill you with physical damage? Next time keep that in mind when you tuck you head between your legs and flee!

Dren casts heal on himself then shifts back into his normal form.

I don't see the negative one in the damage rolls for prayer so I may have 4 additional hit points and am at -16.

Don't forget the Dragon has the grappled condition as well so it can not AOO anyone.

Dren moved up in round two and healed Edmin. Edmin stood up and attacked the Dragon after I acted but before the dragon. I guess I am wondering why he would attack me unless he just wants to try and rid himself of the healer.
But in any case just to confirm he hit a 32 AC with a 3? That would be a +29 and he is at -9 STR from Jax and -1 to hit from prayer.

Per above, you are adjacent but prone. You can full attack from prone or stand, take the AOO, and then single attack.

With my Mythic ability, my first healing functions just like Breath of life so he is alive.

"Relentless Healing (Su): You can restore life to the recently dead. If a creature has died within 1 round, as a free action you can expend one use of mythic power to apply healing magic to that creature. Doug, Edmin negated the crit with an ability. Assuming the dragon continues it's attacks on Edmin until he drops since he only had 50 points.

Wow Doug, that one a serious set of rolls. Doug you might want to finish the Dragons actions this round since I actually go after the Dragon.

Spell Penetration from Round 1:
Prayer 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 39
Insanity 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20

So I am guessing he is now at -1 from everything, including damage, but my Insanity never made it through his magical defenses. Don't forget the negatives on it's attacks and damage.

Round 2 action after the Dragon finishes its round:
Dren casts Grace as a swift action, allowing him to move behind Edmin without drawing an AOO.
As a free action, Dren expends a Mythic point to use his ability of Relentless healing, and casts heal on Edmin, healing him 150 points and bringing him back to life.
Does not require defensive casting since it is a Free action casting.
He then casts a regular Heal to bring him back up another 150 points.
Defensive Casting with Spellguard Bracers:
Defensive Casting 1d20 + 15 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 15 + 9 + 2 = 39
Defensive Casting 1d20 + 15 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 15 + 9 + 2 = 29

2 uses of Mythic power used.
2 7th level and 5 6th level slots used.

Edmin you recieved 300 points of healing and should be near max.
