You find yourself today in Breachill, answering the town's monthly Calls for Heroes, a local tradition wherein the Town Council hires adventurers/mercenaries/heroes to deal with issues and troubles beyond the scope of the town militia, as set aside by the town's public funds and budget. Today, on this fine morning, around 8:50 AM, the Council has called an emergency meeting set for 9:00 am, which is unusual, as they are normally scheduled for noon. You all happen to find yourselves in town with an interest in attending. The purpose of the emergency is unknown to you.
A small crowd is milling outside the Town Hall building, waiting for the appointed time. In all, about 40 townspeople are congregated outside the building, chatting and passing the time until the meeting starts. Some locals have brought their children with them to meet any new heroes.
While you are awaiting the meeting's start, you notice a well-dressed goblin woman pacing right outside the front doors of the building. The studious-looking goblin has her hands clasped behind her back and she's mumbling to younger male goblin, also finely dressed and garbed in leather, a dogslicer at at his waist, who appears to be acting as a bodyguard, keeping any onlookers away from the female goblin.
You can introduce yourselves to the scene, describing your appearance and feeling as the meeting is about to start and any other rping you wish to do.
Congratulations on being selected! Please take the weekend and finalize your characters. Let's have fun and let me know any questions.

Hi all, I've been DMing an Abomination Vaults campaign for PF2E (first time in this system) for almost a year now and have been having a blast, so decided to try out Age of Ashes, which I hear has some super hard fights and want to see how they play out in PbP. There will be some modifications to the AP, as the community has created great resources which I will use.
I’ll keep recruitment open for a week. I’m looking for 4 (maybe 5) players.
My expectations from you as a player:
o Consistent posting, I’d prefer at least once a day posting.
o Group tactics and having fun.
o Interesting characters who I would want to see developed in game.
o Cool imagery - I'm a very cinematic DM, so the rule of cool is in effect.
Character build:
o Level 1
o We will be utilizing the Free Archetype
o Backgrounds: You can use from the Player's Guide or the regular common ones are fine too.
o Ancestries: Core + Catfolk, Ratfolk, and Tengu only.
o Describe your physical appearance or provide a link to your image. Explain in a paragraph what is your connection to Breachill and your motivation for answering the Call to Heroes.
o I use Google Slides for combat maps and NPCs.
Any questions, please let me know.

The town of Trunau has just barely survived a raid on their town by the orcs of the Twisted Nail Tribe. Perhaps you were in town and helped defend it or you arrived later and heeded the call for heroes from Chief Defender Halgra of the Blackened Blades, the de facto leader of the town. Trunau’s Council of Defenders is worried that the town’s orc troubles are far from over and that another attack on Trunau is imminent in the near future from Grendelsek, the hill giant chieftain of the tribe. The town's militia is required to help defend and rebuild the town. To that end, Halgra asks you to go to Grenseldek’s lair - an abandoned outpost near the River Esk called Redlake Fort — and deal with the giant chieftain and her orc tribe before they can attack Trunau again. Will you heed the call and become the saviors of the town?
Hi all! Welcome and let's try to have fun! I am excited to GM this AP starting in Book 2. I am based in the EST so my posts will be sometimes in the day but mostly after 6:00 PM on weekdays. Talk among yourselves and try and finalize your characters and purchases. I will review the characters for correct skill calculations and feats. Any questions, please let me know.

I hope that intro hooked you a little. I have played and DMed Book 1 of the AP in several games but never have gotten too far into Book 2. So to make it easier, want to jump in at Book 2 to start and I am looking for steady set of players to make the journey with me. Hope that interests you.

Spiteful evil stirs beneath the mysterious lighthouse called Gauntlight. When the lighthouse emits an eerie glow, locals suspect that something sinister threatens the countryside. Brave heroes must explore the ruins around the lighthouse and delve into the dungeon levels beneath it. Hideous monsters, deadly traps, unexpected allies, vengeful ghosts, and more await the heroes who dare to enter the sprawling megadungeon called the Abomination Vaults!
Welcome all! I am excited to GM this AP as I am a fan of dungeon crawls and seeing players' ingenuity. I am based in the EST so my posts will be sometimes in the day but mostly after 6:00 PM on weekdays. Talk among yourselves and try and finalize your characters and purchases. I will review the characters for correct skill calculations and feats. Feel free to use the Pathbuilder character builder to check your math and correct bonuses. Any questions, please let me know.

When the mysterious Gauntlight, an eerie landlocked lighthouse, glows with baleful light, the people of Otari know something terrible is beginning. The town's newest heroes must venture into the ruins around the lighthouse – and delve the dungeon levels far beneath it – to discover the evil the Gauntlight heralds. Hideous monsters, deadly traps, and mysterious ghosts all await the heroes who dare to enter the sprawling megadungeon called the Abomination Vaults!
I am a longtime GM looking for a party interested in delving into a megadungeon (PF2E), like in the olden days of lore! I have been absent from the boards for the past 18 months and am now ready to dedicate time to this AP, which I love.
The game takes place in and around the town of Otari, which is a couple of days' journey from Absalom. In-character ties to the town or its residents are recommended. Player's Guide
Character creation:
Level 1
Common ancestries only
Backgrounds: AV-specific are recommended but not required. Link
15 gp for starting equipment
Free archetype will be implemented at 2nd level.
Any other questions, let me know. Recruitment will last for 1 week or until I receive enough applications that interest me.

A few months have passed since the events of the fateful Swallowtail Festival—winter is here, and with it comes the seasonal rains. But as the days wear on, it soon becomes obvious that this is no typical rainy season. Not a day passes without a downpour in Central Varisia, and the rivers swell against their banks, threatening early floods. Tempers flare and relationships fray as the constant dreary weather wears at the soul, yet there are more sinister things in Hook Mountain’s shadow than the constant rain.
17th day of Kuthona 4707 AR
Magnimar
You find yourselves in the Defiant's Garden, the name given to the mayoral residence of the city of Magnimar, located in the Vista district directly next to the Seacleft itself. The Lord-Mayor of Magnimar, Haldmeer Grobaras, personally requested your presence today for an "urgent matter" (per his letter), as your exploits and adventures have distinguished your prowess and skill in the region. The home is quite opulent, as the largest and most impressive home in all the city. You sit on the finest sofas you have seen in your life, outside of royalty, outside the Lord-Mayor's office, waiting to be summoned. 4 other respected warriors wait alongside of you.
Congratz to all selected! I am happy to answer any questions. Finalize your characters so I may review them.
Hey all, I've never ever finished Paizo's 1st ever AP, never got past Book 2- had a TPK in the bell tower in Book 2 in a RL game. Oops! So I would like to fix that on the boards by starting at Book 3 and seeing how far we get. :) I am looking for 4-5 players to have some fun and enjoy telling a story together.
Character creation rules:
7th level
33,000 gp wealth level
15 point buy
Core/Base/Unchained classes only.
Core races only.
No evil.
Background skills in effect.
2 traits (1 must be from Anniversary Edition)- no drawbacks.

Poster
That was the poster that started it all. You saw it an an inn or gambling hall or a tree...wherever it may have been, but that was the thing that started this journey for you. And now you find yourself walking along the cliff-lined Lost Coast region of Varisia, on the edge of the Varisian Gulf, approaching your destination: Sandpoint. In the distance, you can see the most notable feature of the town, the ruined lighthouse that stretches high above the coastal bluffs, a testament to the ancient empire of Thassilon which existed here centuries before the current town was settled.
For some of you, perhaps, it's your first visit; for others, it's a well-known trek. As you enter the town, though, the desperate look of fear on the villagers and the guards' faces is apparent. They look to you with anxiety, fear, and dare say it: a small glimmer of hope. For they know their town is in the danger of being swept off the face of Golarion by a rising tide of giants. Or at least that's what the doomsayers tell them.
You receive nods of appreciation as you enter and are directed to the inn. This large wooden building is the first structure one encounters after crossing the southern bridge entrance into Sandpoint, marked by a sizeable iron dragon that looms over travelers from the building's roof. Time and weather have taken a toll on the sculpture's iron form, which undoubtedly is the source of the tavern's name. The doors to your future await...
Welcome to all selected! I am really looking forward to this game - a mixture of classic style adventures modernized for Golarion with one of my favorite baddies: Giants. Any questions, let me know.

Hello all, I am back on the boards for good after an almost 2-year hiatus. And I am feeling a bit nostalgic to run a modified PF1E version of the classic Against the Giants trilogy (mixed with some monsters from the Giantslayer AP and other sources) in Golarion. I hope that interests some of you, both old school and new school players. I am looking for 4-5 players who can post at least 1x day.
Character creation guidelines:
Point buy: 15 (let's get hardcore)
Level: 10th level
HPs: Max at 1st level and 1/2+1 per level
Races: Core and Featured (Core will be given preference)
Classes: Paizo only (no summoners)
Alignment: No evil (you have to stop the giants, not join or lead them!)
Background skills: Yes
Traits: 2, no drawback
Elephant in the Room: No
VMC: No
Gold: 62,000 gp (no more than 1/2 on one item)
Background: Give me a taste of the character:
Appearance What does your character look like? Do they have any remarkable features?
Personality & Motivation who is your character and what makes them tick? Do they have any interests or quirks? Why do they want to kill giants?
Allies & Associations who is your character connected to (friends, mentors, loved ones)? Are they a part of an organization or order? Married, single, kids?
Give me some hooks in your background that I can use.
I am excited to GM this! Hope there's some interest for this. Any questions, let me know.

The citizens of Trunau, a small human farming community located just south of the old Hordeline in the Hold of Belkzen, were tough minded individuals. After all, their ancestors had defended the walls of their town with great ferocity against the orc invaders centuries ago and fought so viciously that the invaders eventually gave up besieging the town and simply went around it. However, a month ago, the town endured another orc invasion from the Twisted Nail tribe, invaders apparently seeking a Hill Giant tomb, which left the inner quarter of the town largely in ruins. The invaders were repelled, largely due to the efforts of a dancing halfling, two dwarves, and a half-orc witch. The heroes were then tasked with ending the orc threat to the region by attacking their base of operations, while the Trunauans were left to rebuild the town. That was two weeks ago and no word has been received regarding the success of the party’s efforts….
10th day of Rova 4715
A cold wind blows through the village this evening, as a signal horn’s sound echoes through the town. Reflexively, the villagers reach for their hopeknives, worried about another orc attack. But the news spreads through the town, ”It’s Falric, he’s back.” Everyone in town knew the name by now, the diminutive dancing halfling eager to tell a joke, who in combat was said could not be touched. The people of Trunau begin to feel joy for once in a long time, until the whole story is relayed, ”But, he’s alone….”
The grime and blood-covered unarmored halfling walks through town, no smile on his face or joke on his lips. His dwarven friends and the half-orc are nowhere to be seen. He says nothing to anyone nor looks at anyone. A scimitar and a crossbow dangle at his sides. The village’s guards line up, each holding a torch in hand, forming a procession line as Falric walks past them. Half of his face is in shadows, but in the torchlight, you can tell he has a serious yet determined look on his face. He remains silent and marches straight for the Chief Defender’s home. She is waiting for him, a worried look on her face. He enters and the door closes….
Two hours later, a knock at your door disrupts your rest as village guards appear, their weapons sheathed. ”The Chief Defender requires your presence…” You are escorted to her home, certain that whatever awaits you is far greater than you could have ever imagined.
Congratulations to all selected. Please post your final character profiles for my review and format your profiles with all relevant stats.

Hey all, I previously GMed this game here on the boards, but lost 3/4 players after an absence from the boards due to RL issues. It's always been nagging at me that I left it unfinished. So I am back to restart it from right before the assault on an orcish fort. I expect at least 1/day post on weekdays.
Hope that interests you. Character creation guidelines:
Level: 6th
Looking for: 3 players (I have one former player coming back - halfling bard 1/alchemist 5 - annoying rogue-type, almost impossible to hit)
Attributes: 25 point buy but no stat under 8 after racial adjustments.
Hit Point Generation: Max at 1st level and half+1 after that
Classes: No summoners or 3rd party stuff or psionics.
Races: Core races only.
Alignment: No evil.
Wealth: 16,000.
Traits: One campaign trait and two other traits of their choice.
Background skills in use
Tell me about your time zone, physical appearance, personality, and motivations for assaulting an orc fort led by a giant. Good heart? Mercenary payment? Other? Any questions, let me know. Recruitment will be open until October 27th at 6:00 pm EST.
Cheers!

The fall of Kenabres....that's what it's come to be called. Two days ago, who would have hardly imagined it?! The city was celebrating Armasse, hoping to inspire morale in its beleaguered crusaders and defenders...before a bright light shone from the west, as if the sun were rising from the wrong direction, followed by the sound of a thunderous explosion ripped through the air and earth, along with a violent tremor. To the west, the fortress known as the Kite—the location of Kenabres’s wardstone—had vanished. In its place, a brilliant plume of red fire, lightning, and smoke erupted into the heavens. A moment later, a powerful roar accompanied a welcome sight rising from the crowd — Kenabres’s greatest guardian, the ancient silver dragon Terendelev, who had until that moment been attending the opening ceremony disguised as a human, took to the skies. Above, another form appeared, as nightmarish as the dragon was breathtaking. A humanoid shape three times the size of any man, with skin coated in fire and lightning, gripped a flaming sword and whip. The creature’s identity was immediately obvious: Khorramzadeh, the Storm King of the Worldwound, had come to Kenabres! As the ground continued to shake and disgorge demons into the streets, the dragon and the balor lord clashed above. The fight was over in a few harrowing moments, as the balor cut deep into Terendelev’s body, swooping down to strike the dragon and arresting her charge. A few more blows, and the titanic duo spiraled downward toward the crowd. However, the battle was soon over with the Storm King standing before the ancient silver dragon, his sword lashing out and cleaving full through her neck, her severed head falling to the streets of Kenabres!
Death and the slaughter of the citizens of Kenabres followed...you fought where you could, hid at other times, and rested whenever possible. You did what you could to help save others, but mainly you tried to remain alive. Kenabres, a city of over 12,000 souls was reduced to a little more than 3000 in the days that followed. The images of the corpses in the streets and the smell of burning flesh will remain in your memory for a long time to come. Yet you all survived a day and night in hell. Now, 2 days later, following bits of gossip from survivors that the survivors were making there last stand there and your own reconnaissance, you have arrived at Defender's Heart, the largest inn in Kenabres, a stout stone structure that survived the fall of Kenabres with ease.
Upon your approach, guards posted at the inn's windows quickly shot bolts over your head and ordered you to disarm yourself. Only a DC 25 Diplomacy check convinces the guards to allow you enter armed. Assuming you complied, you were escorted inside by armed guards. Inside, you saw merchants, crusaders, warriors, clerics of various faiths, and city folk, about 200 in total. The Eagle Watch has assumed control of the various other leaderless mercenaries while they wait for the Mendevian army to come to the city’s aid. As can be imagined, morale is low.
You can rp your introduction/activities in the inn.
Welcome to the players selected and hope to have an enjoyable game with you all. Please finalize your characters for review and let me know if you have any questions. Game on!

Hey all, I am tired of playing through WotR on the boards and the games ending before the party reaches above ground, so I wish to GM a 3rd level gestalt (to replace the broken Mythic rules) game, where the characters have made it to Defender’s Heart by the morning of the next day after the wardstone's destruction. Hope this interests some of you.
Character creation:
Be familiar with gestalt rules
Stats: 20 point buy (no stat over 18 and no stat less than 8 after modifiers)
Races: Core and Featured only
Classes: Paizo (no alternate and no occult classes), no summoners, unchained barbarian version only, not fond of classes with pets
Alignment: No evil
Feat changes: Power attack -1 hit/+2 damage on all weapons regardless of 1-handed or 2-handed use
Gold: 3rd level wealth
Skills: Background skills in use
HPs: 75% of max, round down
Application: Statblock and describe your character's ties to Kenabres, personality, appearance (images are welcome) and detail your harrowing journey as to how you have survived this horrific day and night, when the hordes of the Abyss stormed the city. Were you at Armasse? Somewhere sleeping? Etc...
I will choose 3 characters, 4 if truly inspired. I am thinking 1-2 week deadline but may shorten it if I receive quality submissions early on. Any questions, let me know.

Ustalav...a poisoned, cursed and haunted land, once ruled by the Whispering Tyrant, a powerful lich-king, and his undead legions for 625 years! Then later the blue dragon Kazavon terrorized the land for 16 years before it was vanquished. The current monarchy is weak and under political upheaval and for the icing on the cake, the country is bordered by two hostile nations: the orc-inhabited Hold of Belkzen to the west and the demon-infested Worldwound to the north! It appears Ustalav is indeed a cursed land and yet, a band of heroes has formed within its borders that may give the highly suspicious and superstitious folk of this land hope yet...
The Grey Knights of Caliphas have come to prominence recently on account of their defeat of a young blue dragon who was threatening the settlers of Canterwall, one of Ustalav's twelve counties, and trying to follow in the footsteps of Kazavon. The band's defeat of the drake and the surrounding publicity was followed by an invitation to Lepidstadt, the largest city in Vieland, by Judge Embreth Daramid. The messenger who delivered the message advised it was of the utmost importance as she is a powerful judge in the region renowned for her fairness, even temper, and judicial acumen.
Piqued by curiosity and the mention of reward, the Grey Knights have traveled to the address on the note. Judge Daramid lives in the center of Lepidstadt, famous throughout Avistan, for its highly acclaimed University, where the late Professor Lorrimor once taught. The Judge lives in a fine townhouse surrounded by art in the center of the city. You knock on the door and are quickly shown inside by her manservant, Durgan, to a study. "Please make yourselves at home, I will fetch her Honor. She's been expecting you." Durgan leaves, politely closing the sliding doors of the study behind him. The study is pleasant and decorated with charming art. A tray containing a kettle and porcelain teacups has been neatly left in the middle of the room.
You may rp your character's interaction with your fellow party members while you wait.
Hello all and congratulations on your selection. Please feel free to discuss and adjust your characters before giving them a final review.
Since you are all starting at 7th level and have missed the activities of the first two books, let us say that you know each other and are all an established adventuring group (feel free to pick a name for yourselves) and have been adventuring together for the last 6-12 months (i.e. about 4 levels worth). You're all good (NG/LG), so you tend to get along. So feel free to adjust skills/feats/etc. if you so desire if you think they overlap with someone else in the group or combine well with someone.
Any comments or questions, let me know. I will post some house rules later on so you get a feel for my style.
Happy gaming!

Hello all! I find myself having tons of fun GMing the Giantslayer AP (players currently 3rd level - have a look to see if my style fits you), I thought why not Carrion Crown but starting at 7th level and Book 3 rather than from the beginning for the greater challenges. I have been involved with RP games for over 20 years now and over 3 in PbP. I currently play a 20th level cleric here on the boards.
If you're interested, here are the character creation guidelines after your read the free Carrion Crown Player's Guide:
Level: Characters will be starting at 7th Level. I will try to stick to 4 players though I may up it to 5 if the concepts blow me away.
Attributes: 25 point buy but no stat under 8 after racial adjustments.
Hit Point Generation: Max first two levels and average+1 after that.
Classes: No summoners or 3rd party stuff or psionics. Unchained classes are fine.
Races: Core races only.
Skills: No background skills
Alignment: No evil, be a team player.
Starting Wealth: Wealth level for 7th level.
Traits: Everyone will begin with one campaign trait (it does have to be tied to the Professor but keep the same game effect) and other trait of your choice.
What I am looking for, besides consistent posters, of course:
Give me a character sheet in a spoiler or profile and some background on your character (personality, appearance, motivations, etc.) as to why your character would get involved in defeating the machinations of the Whispering Way. Google it if you are unaware. Why are you in Ustalav? Why risk your life when you could move somewhere else and ply your mercenary or adventuring trade there?
Recruitment will end a week (I hate games where the recruitments lasts a month!) from today but I reserve right to shorten it if I get a lot of applications early. Happy gaming!
Any questions, let me know.

Trunau, an independent town at the very edge of civilization and on the edge of the Mindspin Mountains...that is where you find yourself this night (Map of region). Most of you arrived recently, within the past 6 months, so you're still considered outsiders by most of the town's locals. The wooden token you each carry on you is a symbol of that (everyone except Cabe). It has a number artfully engraved on it, corresponding to your name on a list. The token was given to you the first day you arrived in Trunau by the guards at the main gate. You present it every time you purchase anything in town or are questioned about your identity. Yes, the people of Trunau are not a very trusting lot. And who can blame them? When all others fled at the sight of the invading Orc hordes centuries ago, they stayed behind and fought and refused to abandon their homes. Thanks to their bravery and spilled blood, still they stand! However, even now after so many years, the animosity between the human population and the half-orcs in town is palpable, simmering beneath the surface. The people of Trunau are a resilient people and their resolve is about to be tested once again...
You are roused from your thoughts by a chill breeze that whips through the Commons, the large amphitheater in the center of town. It is a cool and unusually foggy night in Trunau. That, however, has not dampened the spirits of the crowd gathered. The ceremony you and the rest of the town have come to witness is about to begin. Jubilation fills the evening air, for it is the twelfth birthday of the Chief Defender’s youngest daughter, Ruby, and the townsfolk have been preparing all day for the ceremony and festivities to follow. The buzz of the crowd subsides as the weathered town leader, Halgra of the Blackened Blades, takes the stage and begins to speak. Pic
“Thank you all for joining us this night. I take immense pride in my responsibility as Chief Defender, especially when it comes to the honor of the Hopeknife ceremony. It is always a great privilege to bequeath Trunauan youths their hopeknives as they come of age.” Halgra stops speaking long enough to open an ornamental case and retrieve a slender, ornately decorated dagger hanging from a silver chain. “But tonight is a special occasion, for the recipient of this hopeknife is none other than my youngest daughter.” Once again, Halgra pauses, but this time she turns to talk to the child beside her.
“Ruby, by the traditions of our town, you have come of age. This hopeknife represents your responsibilities as an adult and defender of Trunau. You must be willing to use it on yourself, your fellow Trunauans, and your family—even me, should it come to that. It will be a far quicker death than that which the orcs will offer, and providing it is your duty. Do you swear to guard Trunau from all comers, and to use your hopeknife only for its intended purpose?” Ruby—dusky skinned, black haired, and painfully shy—nods her head in response to her mother’s question.
“If the orcs come, and there is no other option, this is where you cut—here, here, and here.” Halgra demonstrates which arteries to sever while Ruby watches. When she is finished, Halgra sheathes the hopeknife and places the necklace around Ruby’s neck before turning back to address the crowd.
“Tonight, Ruby becomes a full member of our community! Let us welcome her, and celebrate her passage into adulthood! Trunau forever!” The crowd echoes Halgra’s last words in unison, signaling the end of the ceremony.
Feel free to post your reactions and introductions before we move on.
Welcome to those selected! Let's have fun and enjoy the PbP experience. Please finish your characters and feel free to ask any questions.

Well, I find myself with some time on my hand (I am currently playing as a player in only one PbP, mind you it is 20th level!), so why not take on the Giantslayer AP? Who doesn't love killing orcs and giants? Of course, it reminds me of Against the Giants trilogy. I previously tried this AP on these boards with an all Dwarven party but it fell through on the alternate dwarf intro before the party even reached Trunau, so will stick to the AP as written this time. I have been involved with RP games for over 20 years now and over 3 in PbP.
If you're interested, here are the character creation guidelines after your read the Player's Guide:
Level: Characters will be starting at 1st Level.
Attributes: 25 point buy but no stat under 8 after racial adjustments.
Hit Point Generation: Max at 1st level and average+1 after that or risk my roll for you.
Classes: No summoners or 3rd party stuff or psionics.
Races: Core races only.
Alignment: No evil.
Starting Wealth: Average.
Traits: Everyone will begin with one campaign trait and two other traits of their choice.
What I am looking for, besides consistent posters, of course:
Give me some background on your character and his/her ties to Trunau (personality, appearance, motivations, etc.) incorporating the responses to the following questions:
1. Who do you care most about in Trunau and why? What ties do you have to Trunau?
2. Why, with your amazing attributes (be it Strength, Dex, Int, Wis, or Cha), do you choose to remain living/working in orc lands, risking death every day, when you could be living in Katapesh, Korvosa, or any other city or land?

Janderhoff, one of the last surviving Sky Citadels (fortified cities) on Golarion located in the Mindspin Mountains, has been your home these past few years. Ruled by a reclusive but powerful dwarf Highlord by the name of Valgrim Twin-Axe (said to be a warrior of legend), you have been safe from harm these past years in the Citadel, despite whatever tragedies have influenced your life’s path.
But you sensed things were about to change as you were mysteriously summoned and now find yourself entering the chambers of Hrothgar Cindershield, commonly referred to as "Hrothgar the Red", a young dwarven guard captain. Pic
The young Captain, of no more than 100 years, welcomes you inside, finely dressed in chain mail and proudly bearing the insignia of his rank. His chamber is minimally decorated with a desk and five chairs arranged before it, as you would expect from warrior. Several weapons hang on the walls but none of any renown. He is a rising warrior in the city and you all know who he is so he does not bother with introductions. He respectfully acknowledges each of you.
To Varren: ”Welcome holy warrior.”
To Kurag: ”Welcome outrider.”
To Janek: ”Welcome tinkerer.”
To Jalnara: ”Welcome keeper of knowledge.”
To Ingra: ”Welcome priestess.”
His wild red hair and bushy red eye brows make an impression on you, as he bids you to sit in the five chairs assembled before him. You look around and see four other dwarves in the room with confused looks on their face.
You may introduce yourselves and appearance, deameanor, and anything else you wish to add.
Welcome, let's try to make this an enjoyable experience for all. Please finalize your characters, equipment, etc. as needed, for my review. You can introduce each other, if you wish. As I stated, I have an alternate start in mind for this AP, so bear with me and I will try to keep it fun.
So whatever your characters were about to do (leave citadel/go search for missing family/seek vengeance/adventure/etc.), you were interrupted when you received by messenger a summons to meet at the private chambers of a local guard captain at noon. Out of respect, you decide to appear. With that in mind, you can post in the Gameplay thread.

Ok, the Giantslayer AP (recalls the Against the Giants series!) screams out to me: all dwarven-band of adventurers! I love dwarves so that is what I am looking for: 4-5 dwarf characters hailing from Janderhoff ready to take on this AP!
Character creation rules:
• 1st level
• No evil alignments (must be able to play nice with group)
• 20 point buy (maximum 18 and minimum 8 after racial adjustment – no more than one stat under 10)
• Classes: Any published Paizo class or archetype (nothing from the current playtest, no psionics, no guns).
• 2 Traits, one of which must be campaign. No rich parents trait and no drawbacks.
• 150 gp to start
• HP: Max at 1st level; ½+1 per level after
• Looking for players who can post regularly and consistently.
Character application:
No need to create separate alias, if you do not want. Looking for:
Visual description of character, mannerisms, etc. – if I can picture your character, that is a plus for you
2 things you love most; 2 things you hate
What made you want to adventure and volunteer to leave the Sky Citadel; what makes you special
Brief history of your character – incorporate your traits, background, any other detail to make your character come alive to me.
Your posting habits and experience with PbP.
About me:
I have over 15 years of gaming under my belt and I am excited about this idea for this AP. I have GMed two prior PbP games that ended prematurely due to RL issues. I am free enough now to dedicate the sufficient time to this game.
Any questions, let me know.
Hey all, my Kingmaker group of 6 players is down to 3 and we just lost our wizard and cleric! The current cast of players (all of whom are still 1st level) consists of:
Olo, archaeologist bard
Grimwrath, dwarven warpriest
Dendarial, elven ranger
The game is still early in its infancy. For those familiar with the story, the players set up an ambush for Happs and his men and were successful in defending Oleg's Trading post. Now they're looking to do some exploration, until they gain a level, so they can go take on the bandit camp.
Here was the original recruitment thread: Link
If you applied previously, I will give you preferential treatment.
Any questions, let me know.

Prologue
21st day of Neth
Year 4709
Restov
A chill wind blew through the area, forcing the crowd of onlookers to gasp and you to grasp your cloak closer to your body. The cold temperature and the early snowfall that had arrived that morning announced that a harsh winter was on its way. As you blow into your hands to keep them warm, you scan the crowd and see over a hundred people present, a majority of them nobles cordoned off in different areas marked by stewards carrying different styled crests on long poles (You of course are in the commoners' area!): one crest is that of a snow-capped mountain peak with a silvery crescent moon and black hammer; another with a white swan with a sun on the horizon behind it; another with a black eagle against a gold field wings spread; and finally one with a gray ship against a field of blue below and black above. You immediately recognize the last crest as the same as the one draped about the coffin on the makeshift stage built at the entrance to the Restov graveyard. 20 guards dressed in chain mail stand in front and to the sides of the stage. On the stage toward the back sits a middle-aged woman with a black veil, surrounded by three young males, none older than 16, all of whom share a resemblance, dressed in noble garb, appearing to comfort the woman.
As you collect your thoughts, a human male in his early 40s dressed very fashionably and sporting an elegant back beard and top hat, walks toward the pulpit set up on the stage. Pic Lord Mayor One of the guards announces him: “Silence and respect for Lord Mayor Ioseph Sellemius”. The Lord Mayor begins speaking in an eloquent tone to the gathered crowd of nobles and commoners: “Ladies and gentlemen, we come here this frigid morn to honor the death of Lord Rethric Surtova, husband and father of three sons, and third cousin of King Noleski Surtova, right wise Regent of the Dragonscale Throne of our fair land, who could not be present due to important political matters but sends his condolences." Grumbles and coughs can be heard through the crowd, as the King's name is mentioned. Unwavering, the Lord Mayor continues, "Now is not the time for political rhetoric and house infighting. Nobles and grand citizens of Brevoy, I take this opportunity to speak to a severe problem that plagues our lands, affects us all, and caused the death of our fair lord. The Stolen Lands to the south have been ignored far too long. They have become a breeding ground for bandits and barbarians who act with impunity! These brigands have been active in those lands for too long without regulation. How many more of our citizens must they assault and murder before we take action?? How many more funerals must we attend? How many more graves must we dig in this graveyard for our loved ones?" Pointing to the widow, the Lord Mayor says: "How many more widows and fatherless children must we comfort? This latest act, the murder of our King’s third cousin, I tell you this is the last act of treachery we will allow! These bandits will no longer lay in ambush awaiting our caravans on the road and attack our citizens without reprisal; they will learn to fear Brevic power! The call has gone out. Brave men and women, some of them present in this crowd, skilled with the sword and spell will be found. These warriors will be sent into the wild and they will wield power in the name of Restov, in the name of the Aldori Swordlords, and in the name of our King, and they will put each one of those f***ing bandits to the sword or rope. They will explore the Stolen Lands and look under each stone or pebble and find these bastards and punish them for their actions against the Crown." He walks toward Lord Surtova’s widow, gets down on one knee, takes her hand, and says loud enough to hear: "This I swear to you, your husband’s death will not be in vain, they will pay for this act! Justice will be done!" The cheers from those assembled being to get louder. Returning to the podium, the Lord Mayor pauses and then shouts at the top of his lungs, “Bandit killing season starts now! Who’s with me?” The crowd erupts into a cheer, as the Lord Mayor walks off the stage.
Welcome and congrats to all selected! Let's try and have some fun! Please finish any details on your characters and let me know any questions.

Having fun with my Snows of Summer campaign, I decided to give this one a try too!
In truth, the Stolen Lands belong to no one, and are stolen from no one. Many have tried to claim them, but the abandoned ruins that dot the swath of wilderness stand as testaments to the difficulty of ruling these savage lands. They have remained wild with a fierce tenacity, a haven for monsters and criminals and dangerous secrets, and as such have posed a menace to their neighboring nations as long as anyone can remember. Now the Swordlords of Restov have charged you with traveling and surveying the Greenbelt, as well as striving against banditry. Other groups were sent previously. None have returned. Many believe this to be a foolhardy task or a suicide mission. Are you up to the task?
Character creation:
Looking for 4-5 players
Ability Scores: 20-point builds with stats no lower than 8 and no higher than 18 after modifiers.
Races: Core races preferred but other races open for consideration (better be a really good backstory!)
Alignment: No evil
Classes: All except Gunslinger and summoner. Archetypes are allowed.
Starting gold: Average starting gold.
Traits: 2 traits, one of which must be a campaign trait, no drawbacks.
Concept: Character appearance and motivation: Why do you care about the Greenbelt renowned for its dangers and why have you accepted the Swordlords' charter?
Will leave recruitment open for a week, subject to change depending on number of applicants.

Village of Heldren
Your eyes scan the surroundings of the Silver Stoat, the only tavern in the village of Heldren in Taldor, just north of the Border Wood near Qadira. Glowing lanterns light this fixture of village life, that fills up with patrons in the evening as they gather to share gossip, hear news, and reward themselves for a hard day’s work. You count up to 30 locals at the nearby tables. This is certainly a far cry from where you started and you certainly don't expect much to happen during your brief stay. This village is just a pit stop for you, a pebble on the road of life, as you move on towards bigger and better things. Nothing exciting would ever happen in this village, right?
Your attention is suddenly drawn to a gruff-looking man, with dark, short-cropped hair and beard. A hunter of sorts, by the looks of the pelts on his shoulder, bow, greataxe, and leather armor with studs. Dirt and bloodstains blotch his cloak and clothes. The man, quite obviously a local, speaks to the innkeeper, a man named Menander if your remember correctly when he and his wife Kale introduced themselves upon your arrival. The man speaks in a loud voice, so as to inform the other patrons of the establishment. "I tell you, Menny, the rumors we've been hearing are true. I was in the Border Wood last night, I had to feel it for myself, when a frigid breeze hit me, and at the height of summer! This cold weather...I don't know, it didn't feel natural! The woods themselves feel uneasy. And I've heard other reports from other hunters, that they've reported heavy snow as well as new predators they've never seen before. Something weird is definitely going on." Menander and most of the locals look quite nervous at the news. Menander speaks, "By the gods, Marek, maybe Old Mother is right. Dark times lie ahead." The patrons say a quick prayer to their gods with looks of fear.
Marek laughs, "You were always too dramatic, Menny. And I'm sure Theodora says that about everything. She's bound to be right sometime. So anything else going on in town these past couple of days, other than I'm going to have to drag out my cold weather clothes from my trunk." Menander's face turns serious, as some voices in the bar whisper, "He doesn't know." Menander exhales, "Actually you've missed a lot, Mar. A badly wounded soldier arrived in town yesterday, claiming to be a bodyguard of some fancy noblewoman, Lady Argentea something or other. He told the village council that the noblewoman’s escort came under attack by bandits and strange, wintry creatures near the edge of the Border Wood. He claimed to be the sole survivor and Lady Argentea was dragged away into the forest. He's barely alive, from what I hear, and being tended to at the Willowbark Apothecary. Maybe you might lend a hand, Marek. And maybe the new strangers in town might chip in as well?" Menander stands up straight and looks at the other four new faces in town, listening in and eating their meal.
Feel free to introduce your character with physical description. You've all arrived within the last day, so you were unaware of the news of the noblewoman's disappearance.
Congratulations to all who made it! Now let's have some fun! Please complete your character creation for my review. Any questions, let me know.

Hey all, I have been a player and DM in RPing fantasy games for over 20 years. Looking for a 4-5 player group to trek through the Reign of Winter AP, starting with "Snows of Summer."
