![]() "Bonus points for those of you who might not be as enthused about having firearms in your home games: we’re playtesting the gunslinger with built-in options for replacing firearms with crossbows. ... And no, playing a character with this option won’t require a feat or archetype!" Finally the gunslinger class made usable, and with sense. Thank you so much. Quote: Good news, by the way! We'll be talking about the history and development of firearms in Golarion and how it diverges from the real world in the final release for Guns & Gears! Now this will be a good read indeed. Please include this idea. ![]()

Having to photoshop out the giant S's that mark secret doors is a headache. I agree. GMs do need a players perspective view map, with all markers and specially hidden item markers removed. In the VTT the GM will add needed markers once the players have discovered the item. ![]()
![]() Hit my very core hard, but loved the story presented. Story of remembering soulmates, whom they have lost. The memories never die, nor the pain of remembering , that I can attest too. Though as it pains, I always enjoy the good times we had, which usually brings a smile to my fae, even with tears running. ![]()

I was truly enjoying the conversation between them, and just want to learn more of these two individuals, then poof the text came to an end. I really like Patrick's style of writing of this blog post, quite similar to James L. Sutter, which I enjoy reading. I so hoping Patrick will take up the challenge to write a novel about this two individuals, so i can feast on the world his painting for us, and the tough balancing of political perceptions. ![]()

Then again I *love* cold, and +20-25 C is severe heat for me. :) Here is a wonderful example. People from different regions of the world have different norms of comfort with regards to temperatures. 25+ C is passing out temperature for me, and many others, yet at -14 C is no hassle to be outdoors. There you go to other regions of the world 40 C is the normal and comfortable for those native to the region, yet are freezing (almost going into shock when temperature drop below 25 C). If the actual temperature is of no importance, why then include a temperature scale in the first place. Though if a temperature scale is to be included, include both scales. Players really don't want to be forced go to the internet during game play just to do conversions in order to under stand what the temperature condition actually means. ![]()
![]() @Mark Seifter, I been very excited about the changes coming to PF in PF2. Thanx for all the hard work in bringing this to life. Though I am rather disappointed with one thing, which happens to be in your post above. In this day and age, why is temperatures is listed only in the broken antiquated F scale? Considering almost entire world is already on degrees Celcius scale, with even the USA is rapidly changing to using Celcius (many news channels already have both F and Celcius scales displayed on weather maps). From the Table 10-13 Temperature Effects above, there is clearly enough space to also include the Celcius scale. This would cater for rest of the world outside USA that know nothing of the F scale. ![]()

![]() So instead of creating variety of druids as intended goal of PF2 is to have the ability of creating more varied characters compared to PF1, they gone the total opposite direction when it comes to druids, especially wildshape druids. All wildshape druids will follow the same progression, with the same skills allocations, same ability scores assignment, and all be dressed the same as not sane wildshape druid would not wear the druid vestments. Jason and the team should really look at redesigning the druid to obtain more variations for the druid, especially the wildshape druids, i throw in the plant druid too. ![]()
![]() I like the idea of having the spell casting to be spontaneous, to help the hunter if he has bad luck of loosing the animal companion and still make it out alive by using the chosen spells for the day. With prepared spells, the hunter will be worse off in dire situations, without animal companion. To me the high level spells makes sense to be prepared spells as they are powerful magic. The low level spells that the hunter is getting are more utility spells, with little offensive and defensive capabilities. I think having the spells spontaneous will help differentiate from the druid class. Though some been calling for ranger spells, I fine with the druid 0-6 level list if it spontaneous. Take a wizard who has a familiar (bonded object), and said familiar is killed, the wizard still able to use majority of abilities without having the familiar. Druid looses animal companion, the druid can still cast spells effectively, wild shape, etc. Hunter looses animal companion, suddenly half the class features become useless, and with difficult spell choice of the day intended for another situation that is not the same as the dire situation the hunter is in to survive. Sean, please look into the dire situations of the new classes, where the character looses the primary abilities. ![]()
![]() They did say they would like to implement the races from the Advance Race Guide (ARG), but they be added much later, like a few years later. They also willing to allow for one race change, so when the race does become available one does not have to start over from scratch. One can place a description of your intended race on your character profile, even if graphically you using the wrong race (well closest available race to your chosen race). I definitely aiming for 2 races for the twins from the ARG. The biggest hurdle is actually graphic content creation compared to the little race ability construction. Race features in the program would simply be a list of programmed abilities to pick from. Very few playable races in the Pathfinder game has abilities that are unique to only the race. ![]()
![]() None, only those who you have made your friends, and guild members, and notable individuals whom you do business with. That 3 lists to check if name is to be displayed. Also have option toggle displaying of listed names. I really hate having name stuck on characters in games. I normal pickup my friends from IC/OOC conversations, or if a huge crowd, quickly toggle names on, to spot then switch off. ![]()
![]() Well a secretive grove for high level druids meetings and living area could exist, and would be only accessible by druids using 5th level spell Tree Stride and 6th level spell Transport via Plants. There would be certain transport trees in centre of grove, and scattered through out the wilderness for travel to and from the secret grove, and quicker travel in wilderness. Stone hedges, menhirs and other structure could be scattered through out the wilderness, and be rather public accessible. Small groves, caves, would have major thick barrier for protection and to hide the settlement. A small metal working smith would exist, not capable of large production, just for making some needed items. ![]()
![]() @Ryan and GW team. Nice ideas and some answers to a few questions. Though I have a few issues with this blog. Come back to the druids. Yes the ones that by tradition don't live in settlements, and mostly live and work in the wilderness. How is GW going to overcome the training places for druids for druid specific abilities, starting with the first level abilities, such as Animal Companion with Wild Empathy. These 2 abilities are very much based in the wilderness, and training would take place in the wilderness under normal circumstances. Many of the abilities of druids are wilderness based, not settlement based unlike many other 'classes'. Seeing that druids would not have settlements or kingdoms, how would they get training places for advantage abilities, feats, and skills, if settlements are required for having training places? ![]()
![]() Yep, that is the problem, trying to accommodate the WoW kiddies, with content that does not actually fit into the sandbox fantasy MMo, such as Auction Houses (now disguised as Markets). WoW kiddies all just want to race from place to place killing stuff, buy the best gear the easiest way without travel and the becoming the strongest the quickest. ![]()
![]() I starting this thread to see who wants to play druids. What their dreams are and their fears would be in PFO in terms of the game mechanics. I see the druids being pretty much the same as the bandits, not having a settlement called home, but rather scattered through out the lands. Druids would by far be living in the wilds, the dangerous terrain, in order to keep with the theme of being a druid. Away from the protection of settlements, regardless of settlement's alignment. I see druids not having a guild as such, but a loosely connected group of characters with a common goal of looking after nature. Similar to bandits having hideouts, we the druids would not have settlements full of various buildings and a kingdom boundary that is home to the settlement. Druids transverse the boundaries of kingdoms. Yet druids would have some simple structures to perform their tasks, and to live in. Structures would mainly be huts, stone hedges, secret groves, faerie circles, etc that are scattered throughout the wilderness. Though there may be a structure in a neutral settlement that the druids could use. At the moment, there is not much for the druids in terms of the alignment flags. At least Ryan said, the druids should get their animal companion. That is very good news for us. So how should the druids go about forming a 'secret' druidic convenient, working together at times to repair nature, defend nature from gross misconduct. Hey, the druids supposed to have a secret language after all for communication. So other druids out there, what are your ideas, concerns, etc of being a druid in PFO. ![]()
![]() @GrumpyMel, I love your alignment solution, definitely much more balanced. @Ryan, you post as yourself, personal opinion, is the first from you since the blog came out that actually make sense, and I agree with what the role of the paladin should be. Definitely not to be bounty hunters, also they tend to be very poor characters, only taking what they need to survive to to have improved equipment that they can carry at all times, nothing else stored elsewhere. Paladins should be giving the excess money to charities, not hoarding the money. Bounty Hunters do the task for profit, and the means to achieving the end is no consequence (just have to look at modern day bounty hunters around the world, at many time non-lawful methods being used). Sadly arresting a criminal is not part of the game due to non-lethal combat not being available. Bringing a criminal to jail, is more good than killing the criminal, as is practised in most good countries of the world. Evil, on the other hand could not care if the target is dead or alive in jail if death sentence is not required. ![]()
![]() This is getting very unbalanced and biased to LG. If GW wants a truly enjoyable sandbox PvP game, they seriously need to design the game so the game is balanced at neutral, not LG. The reputation is purely for LG. In so many games and adventures, there a huge load of famous evil characters that carries huge influences for having very high reputation in their areas, and even in the LG territories for these evil characters have achieved great status. There definitely need to have another reputation measure for gaining reputation for doing chaotic and evil acts, which the evil territories can use for building settlements, training, etc. Basically the same as for LG, but used for CE. Evil would use the evil reputation scale instead of the good scale used for good territories. I not planning to play an evil character, but think the current proposal is ridiculous biased to LG. ![]()
![]() Definitely expand on #6, I also very curious how this feature would work. One thing, remove references to other MMOs, as there are players that have never played these MMOs thus would not know these features at all or how they are implemented. Rather expand the explanation describing the intended feature. |
