Second Seekers (Luwazi Elsbo)

Thanks for running this shifty!

Duke rolls his eyes. "Listen, I know you didn't design the things just . . . next time put them on some dummies or whatever and test them out before you give them to living, breathing people. And rig the guns up for remote fire and collect some data before you hand them out to people. Saves you some time and a potential lawsuit."

Hey, Shifty, no offense meant to you, and I'm certainly willing to finish the quest by playing through the fight at the end. Duke is just a surly character and I'm role-playing him that way. I'm 100% willing to fight the death bots (I think they still need to be tested.) I myself am not bad at you nor the scenario. Duke's backstory just makes it so that he doesn't like putting people at risk unnecessarily.

"Hey! What are you trying to pull here? This thing is designed so as to convert kinetic energy into photonic energy. Any time this thing takes a hit, it would likely blind the user! And look here, the quaxar power crystal would short if the shield failed completely, likely releasing an even heavier burst of photons. That could cause permanent eye damage! This thing isn't even halfway ready for market yet! Not by a long shot!"

Duke throws the thing at the half orc and mumbles something about incompetence.

Before putting on the device, Duke checks it out for similar flaws in line with what previously happened with the guns.

Engineering: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21

”I’m assuming both put us in live fire situations with no guarantee these’ll actually prevent us from becoming corpses?”

Waiting to see if that was enough to evade the sniper weapon's backlash

Male Yskoi Operative (thief) 6 Sta 54/54 HP38/38 EAC 22, KAC 23, AC vs. CM 31, Init +7, Fort +4, Ref +10, Wil +6

Is there a reflex save for half with that damage? I do have the evasion class feature.

Duke looks over the weapon.
engineering: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
”Looks like the weapon draws power more power than the rifle needs, and the excess charge builds up in the battery casing, then discharges . . . Violently. Just a minor design flaw you might wanna look into. Probably would only kill 3/4 of your clientele.” he says sarcastically.

Duke will take Babau's Kiss and the Swarm Zapper

He'll go prone and start shooting at 300 feet with the swarm Zapper, making sure to make use of the sniper feature. Shot 2 will be at 100 feet away, then 90, and so on, always using the sniper feature.

Duke reloads his hand cannon with shotgun shells. Then he twirls the gun around before sliding it into his belt holster. "I trust you'll remember the Starfinders are valuable allies to have. We look forward to future business associations." he says in a gruff voice, as if forced to repeat a company slogan he doesn't really care about.

Since Ua says it hasn't moved from it's position, Cero continues trying to shoot it.
So looking it up, apparantly you can trick attack people you can't see? TOTALLY fine if GM rules that I can't.

Duke will sit in a chair and carefully go over any data Eshazi has prepared, studying it with inordinate detail. This is, evidentially, where he shines.

I will use my Bounter Hunter ability to designate 'the creature that came through the portal generated by Resurgent Technologies during this incident,' as his mark. This should reduce all DCs for culture and diplomacy checks to know about it.

Apparently some crews-not us-were giving false check ins to say they arrived on time even though they hadn’t to cover up the fact that they were lazy or doing some unofficial missions on the side.
