![]() Hi all! My name is Carlos Cabrera, one of the authors for the Aethera Field Guide. I created 5 monsters in this particular volume, and I'd be happy to talk to you about them now that we've released! I also have a selection of mythic spells that you will see in Legendary Games' Mythic Character Codex, from their Mythic Mania II Kickstarter! These are actually spells previously printed in Pathways #78 by Rite Publishing, this time upgraded for mythic play! I'd be happy to talk about these as well! ![]()
![]() Hi everyone! I will be in attendance all 4 days and will have my Nintendo Switch with me. In between panels you may see me waving it around looking for 2 player games (probably in the common areas where I'm not disrupting other games or foot traffic). Come find me if you have a few minutes to spare, and if you have one and a copy of the game, bring it along. The more the merrier! I think I'll post which specific t-shirt you'll be able to find me in each day. Hope to see you there! ![]()
![]() Nothing is more dangerous than a rogue, except maybe 2 rogues. I like the idea of an investigator in a setting like this. And flank buddy is, dare I say... on point? :) I hope someone chimes in with a healer, but I have a cleric (or perhaps even a bard?) in my back pocket, always. As well as a summoner. ![]()
![]() Ryan Dancey wrote: @Carlos Cabrera - I would say "no". The player took the risk of losing those items when he decided not to Thread them. The mechanism of that loss isn't griefing. That's a fair point, but I am also curious as to why items left on a corpse are even destroyed at all, particularly in a persistent world. It's of course standard practice for mobs (kill it, leave what you don't want, it respawns), but what purpose does it serve when applied to players? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know this is unprecedented in an MMO. Items have always been left on player corpses for you to recover unless they're taken, with the exception of games that do not have a player-to-player loot system. ![]()
![]() I love playing against type. I have a rogue with a 12 in STR and a DEX of 16. I never bother giving him Weapon Finesse, and he fights with two short swords. I also give up Uncanny Dodge and Improved Uncanny Dodge (albeit to get sneak attack damage on a charge or with just 10' of movement with the Scout archetype). What that does, though, is make me REALLY think about his positioning in combat. If I want to start dealing out that damage, I have to earn it just by rolling well. It makes it that much sweeter for me if my dice happen to be on fire. I also don't mind taking the hard hit or two when he's flanked, because that's the intentional way I built him - when the need arises, I'll even run right into the thick of things. My sweetest moment ever - rolling enough crits to gain 2nd place in the Archery Contest at PaizoCon 2012. He's not built to roll crits, or even be an especially effective ranged combatant. I then used the proceeding shock arrows on the Shadows tossed at us during the main event. My dice were on fire all night :) ![]()

Coalition Event I feel that it invokes the idea of the players and the developers coming together in a meeting of the minds, and to celebrate our combined effort in bringing this new experience to the world. Thoughts? ![]()
![]() Would anyone like to take this off my hands? It's not in perfect condition, because the sticker sealing the comic landed on one of the pages and peeled away some of the paper. This happened while I was taking the comic out of the sleeve so that the writer Jim Zub could sign it. It does have his signature, but the sticker sealing the sleeve has been thrown away. I was a little angry. The certificate of authenticity is included, if it even has any value anymore. ![]()

What about Delta Flow? After all, this is the RIVER Kingdoms, and sums up perfectly the process of slowly introducing players and mechanics continuously through the launch, I feel. If GoblinWorks likes this one, I think you should get Goblin Squad status too. ![]()
![]() GrumpyMel wrote: So you could probably be an "Agent" who specializes in covert operations (even including taking out enemies) and be neutral or good aligned... but "Assasins" who perform "assasinations" are Evil, period. Thanks Grumpy. This aligns with having to be evil to take the assassin prestige class, and that makes a whole lot of sense. As does the flavor of the upcoming Wrath of the Righteous AP, where the "good guys have had enough" feel they're going for. Overall I'm fairly confident with the direction PFO is taking. Also, I pride myself in achieving tasks in MMOs either below the recommended level or without optimized equipment. Part of it is roleplay, and part of it is enjoying playing against type. ![]()

![]() Ryan Dancey wrote: But there needs to be a way for an evil character to assassinate a good target in a good location. What about a good or neutral character doing this to an evil target? Why send an army if one man could potentially get the job done, or even a small group (reflecting something akin to special forces)? I would have a great personal investment in this, if it were possible. ![]()
![]() Ryan Dancey wrote: How would you implement this idea in a way that maximized human interaction? Players who reach the upper eschalons of the Dungeoneering or Survival skill paths, etc., can act as guides. If they already have the ability to lock down a dungeon so they can gather their friends to run through it, why not allow them to specialize in their discovery or traversal? To avoid the Foozle problem, the monsters inside would not be particularly rare, but just harder to get to. This way players could assist each other to reach a specific mob, and also doubles as a great chance to implement a trap and natural hazard system for them to overcome. ![]()
![]() To what extent are the new gods detailed in the new Magnimar product, and can you name any others that detail additional gods outside of the Inner Sea World Guide? I noticed that the Golarion Day posts for PFS list new domains and subdomains that are legal for play, and was wondering if additional content in the future (like Magnimar) would get a similar treatment. ![]()
![]() I'm really sorry to say this, but I left my chronicle sheets at work earlier this week, and when I went back to claim them they suddenly went missing! I have a 3rd level character who hasn't been touched since last PaizoCon, and I have plans to get to him to 4th this weekend. A friend and I are even using teamwork feats and scheduled for all the same events so he'd hit 4th level too! Help! I went out of my way to buy all of the content we've actually played through together, so I have printouts of all of the chronicle sheets that I need. Is there a willing GM or Paizo employee willing to sign off on them at the con? You'd be doing two people a HUGE favor!
