Well, I tried drbuzzard, I tried to resist the urge to make a backstory for Brunner. Sadly, I failed. However, I did resist the urge to put it here, instead only posting it on his page. For what it's worth, it's really short. @ Kurgan Kegstalker, now that I have a backstory for Brunner, would you mind adding a third line for his posting on your wonderful list? Please add: Raised by Toragdans, they quickly learned Brunner 'Works to the ringing of a different hammer.' ![]()

Kurgan Kegstalker wrote: Also, for being a switch hitter...throwing shield. Only costs 50 gold. Makes your dwarven warshields a thrown weapon. Makes feats like weapon focus and weapon specialization work in melee and ranged and means that you don't need a second weapon training category. Instead, options like focused weapon, trained weapon, and trained initiative, can be used instead... I looked real hard at throwing shields. What becomes restrictive is the weight. At a str of 13 Brunner can carry 50 lbs worth of gear, even with a handy haversack (which will eat up most of his cash) it leaves 45 lbs for armor and weapons. Using 25 lbs for armor and each shield weighting 8 lbs. that leaves me 4 lbs for something to shoot or throw. I'm going to start with four chakrams, and since he has quick draw, he can use the chakrams at range, then draw the shields for closer work. Now, once we get further in and he can afford to make everything from mithril, Maybe? ![]()
drbuzzard wrote: ... I generally don't see a need for background skills... Sort of silly to have background skills if you don't have a background :) Edit:I guess if I'm going to snark I may as well introduce my character. Brunner is RH's Fighter/unchained rogue. His two weapon style will be using the dwarven War-shield. I was thinking the Axe gauntlet, but he'd have to take them off every time he picks a lock. This way he just sets the shields down (or something like that) And hopefully I'll sort out how two shields add to the AC before we get started. I considered taking an archetype either 'weapons master' or 'two weapon warrior' but I think I'll take a few feats to switch hit for a ranged weapon, so the second fighter Weapon Training group may come in handy. I'll get his stats posted here in a little bit, and who knows maybe even a short background. ![]()
Hey GM RelicBlackOUT, I decided to wait until your recruitment was over, but I wanted to welcome you back. I really enjoyed the Old School Modules game I was in with you. As you know, I'd left the boards due to a change in employment. Obviously, things changed again, and I was able to come back. I'm glad to see you're back also, trust me we all understand life happens. I would have applied, accept 'RoW' is one of the few AP's I've finished. So I thought I should leave room for someone who hasn't played it. Again, welcome back I know the folks you've accepted will enjoy your GM style. ![]()
"Torag, help yer servant destroy thes undeid abomination."Calling on the power of the living rock deep under feet, Brunner extends the chain on his dorn-dergar and tries to strike the undead standing in the doorway. Flinching as the half orc curses Brunner shakes his head. He knew several fine druids most of them brave and true, and only a few would eat some things that a dwarf wouldn't. Saddened by the fact that they were not able to communicate with the cat, Brunner, having not extended the ball yet, looks down at the lynx. "Sorry abit thes kitty, eh'd raither be strikin' yer undeid master. but Ah cannae hae ye chewin' oan mah friends." He then gives the chain a twist and swings the heavy stone ball at the wild cat hitting it on the head, knocking it to the ground. Turning his attention towards the real threat, he moves towards the door of the cabin and the undead. Attack: Dorn-dergar PA, move action 20 ft.

Drawing an arrow and firing at the undead creature in the doorway, Brunner calls to Arkhan, "Arkhan, Can ye gab tae th' moggie, catfin' it wa it's protectin' thes Undeid abomination?" Seeing his arrow go astray, he drops the bow, husting out of the woods as he draws the dorn-dergar. "Bah, aam nae guid at attacks frae a distance." That beats Brunners 7 as well Nodding with Edran's explanation, Brunner reminds him; "Yer reit, everyone has checked th' supplies. but min' they've ken each other their whole li'es an' jist mit ye. Gie them time, they'll come aroond." Moving towards the pig farmer, Wilbur, Brunner noticed he got in a couple of good punches. The dwarf encouraged the pig farmer to keep practicing. Even giving him his shield and crossbow, then helping him try on the leather armor that Lirosa took off. Picking up one of the longbows Brunner tests it and nods. Putting the bow back in it's quivers scabbard he slings it over his shoulder. Asking "Dae we still hae time tae make it tae th' cabin?" ![]()

yeah, loved the books, only read each of them once. But I didn't start them until around 2005, so I only had to wait on the 'Brandon Sanderson ending. First three shows were posted last night, so binge watched all of them. Got about a fourth of the way through the first book. Started my post this morning and stopped to cook my wife breakfast. Didn't realize Arkhan had posted. I had spent enough time on the second paragraph that I left it with a line through it. Couldn't make myself delete it, even if it never happened :) ![]()
Hmmm got ninja'd by Arkhan, probably should change my post Seeing the chaos of battle end, but the bickering between the townsfolk begin, Brunner frowns as the Hobgoblin is permitted to surrender but is then still attacked. As Eathan heals Raymond, Brunner watches as the townsfolk begin to bicker. Brunner shakes his head, wrapping the Dorn-Dergar around his waist as Eathan begins to make a case for sparing the life of the enemy. Brunner steps forward, raising an eyebrow as Barhador and Tarrow disagree with his friend the priest of Erastil.
Watching as Arkhan drives his scimitar into the hobgoblin Brunner nods in agreement, but winces slightly as the druid yells at the towns folk. While some start to gather berries, Brunner starts removing anything they can use from the bodies of the dead hobgoblins. ![]()
I took a break from binge watching "Wheel of Time" (on Amazon prime) and checked the posts. My brains mush so I will post in the morning after I've had some coffee but I did want to ask for clarification. So part of the oath of 'Torag's' paladins is:

I don't see Ethan on the map, but I'm assuming Brunner's proximity to two hobgoblins would put him outside of Ethan's channel, Seeing the townsfolk join in and put the hobgoblin down, Brunner nods approvingly "Weel dain laddies, 'at showin' these gobo's." He puases for a moment, using his 'lay on hands' gift to heal himself a little, then he looks towards the hobgoblin leader, Extending his Dorn-Dergar to full length, "Let's gie th' leader an' finish thes." Due to his short legs and slow speed, Brunner again places himself behind he refugees. Bringing up rear, he encourages those he can as he keeps an eye out for anyone coming up behind them. Hearing the group spread the word about the tubers and such, Brunner presses through the townsfolk in time to hear the wise elf saying they should stop and harvest the berries and tubers. Nodding in agreement, Brunner blurts out, "That's a braw idea, I've a gift fur pickin' berries, Bein' built sae law tae th' grin an' aw. I'll gang help." Moving to the berry bush, Brunner takes off his stone helmet and starts filling it with blackberries.
