Ex Venture and just coming back to the hobby but if I understand correctly.

First Query: Yes, the chronicle sheet doesn't differentiate GM and player so whatever on a chronicle sheet assigned to that character would not be different.

The archetype will not apply to ALL your psf2e, but you can assign it to one of your psf2e PC. The boon can likely only be assigned once,

Lorespire wrote:

Chronicle Boons are earned by completing adventures. You can earn up to two copies of each Chronicle Boon, one as a player and one as a GM. You can use Replays to earn additional Chronicle Boons.

AcP Boons are bought with Achievement Points (AcP). Unless otherwise specified, you can buy as many copies of AcP Boons you qualify for as you can afford.
All other Boons limit you to one copy each.

In my experience with GM XP, your character isn't locked until you play your first session. i.e. free rebuild until PC has played in an actual session. Some GMs I know, and I've done it myself have placeholder PCs they assign chronicles to without building the PC until they feel like it, immediately building a level 3 or 4 PC.

Liberty's Edge

I got ahead of myself, the other table is also tier 3-4 after I did the math, so I'll bring my level 1 character here and we level 1s can have a good time together :)

Liberty's Edge

A potential solution has just presented itself.

I accidentally registered a level 1 for outpost to PFS 1st ed, and had to drop it.

Another table tier 3-4 has opened up. -> Xan Ti can jump into that table

I can bring a level 1 (either rogue/barbarian/summoner) to this table. But seeing how there is already a rogue and barbarian, will bring the summoner to this table if that's ok with the GM!

Liberty's Edge

I have arrived! I have a level 3 Magus or a level 1 Rogue.

My Magus was supposed to be level 2 in another outpost game but I've since acquired some credits. So if it's Ok for the other GM, I'll bring my level 1 Rogue to that table and my level 3 magus if the group is keen to keep it high tier.

Liberty's Edge

I'm keen to try the slayer! Otherwise I have a level 1 rogue or level 1 barbarian to bring along.

Liberty's Edge

I'll provide my character sheets by tonight! But I do agree for best balance I'll keep to my original champion idea, possibly cleric archtype at level 2.

Liberty's Edge

I'm happy to stick to champion as well, giving us some extra healing options. Since that was my original submission in mind.

Liberty's Edge

Greetings friends!

I've since been exploring character options and fell in love with the 'Tian Xia Character Guide'. In order of preference of my character options all of which I have character sheets ready to go:

1. Half Orc Rogue: Kelumur was my most played PFS1 character, since then he has taken some time to train and meditate in Tian Xia, giving him a Tian Xia origin for flavour purposes, and taking spirit warrior archetype at level 2. He is a strength/melee rogue

2. Kobold Mightyfall Barbarian: This little guy might be small in size, but dreams of becoming a mighty Kaiju one day. No one believes him, but he claims to have kaiju blood.

3. Half Orc Champion: My original submission for this campaign, selfless tanky character that believes strongly in liberation, and helps everyone in need. Focusing more on defensive abilities to shield and take damage from the party.

Liberty's Edge

I noticed there are significant changes in the remaster over what I built so I went ahead and just put together something resembling what I wanted to play through the pathbuilder app.

Character sheet here

If it would be more preferred for the party composition, I can swap to harm font and prep 4 harm spells and 2 heal spells as opposed to the 2 harm and 4 heal I have now.

Liberty's Edge

And here I am! My character sheet on the site is not updated as it was still using playtest rules. I have my sheet updated on pathbuilder, so as soon as I finish work, in about 8 hours, I'll spend time to transfer the sheet. I'm using only core materials right now cause that's all I own.

Liberty's Edge

Hello! As a new year resolution, I have decided to pick the game up after a long hiatus and figured to toss my hat here as my comeback to PBP and PFS.

I've long to play a character that is a shield to someone's swords. As such I'm considering a champion or cleric build. In term's of ancestry I have not thought that far.

My commitment will be to post twice daily, In the morning when I wake, and after work. I tend to post more frequently on weekends in past experience, but that last time I played regularly was probably in 2019.

Familiar with the standard PBP routines of the past, and am happy to comply to what the GM wants. And definitely looking to commit to playing long term to build some back some relationships.

Good day all. Reintroductions and apologies are in order.

I had disappeared 2 years back, I had moved to a different country, my marriage broke down, and I was just alone and lost for a long time without motivation. I lost all my pathfinder hardcopy materials as well. It's been about a year since my divorced and I am slowly picking back pieces, I've moved to Melbourne 4 months ago, just bought a digital copy of the new player core, and hoping to re-join and get a game or two in, and eventually pick up GMing again.

If anyone has room for a lowly level 1 character please let me know!

Hello! I will be playing a Cleric of Nethys! Have not gotten his profile made yet but should be done before next weekend.

Liberty's Edge

Hey guys! Came over by Qstor as well, I only have 2 characters in tier.
Unfortunately I won't be adding anything to the mix of needs on healing or range.

-4th level summoner (with a melee based biped Azata)
-6th level two weapon monk/fighter (possibly will be level 7 by end of the week)

Liberty's Edge

My home Internet has been unexpectedly been down for the last 2 days. Worse comes to worse I'll try to provide a update through my mobile phone to keep things going. Apologies all!

Liberty's Edge

Sorry guys, internet is down for the day, should be back up tomorrow.

I'm hoping to add to this conversation as similar questions came up as I was running my game.

At first I rolled initiative Sneak/Hide is not vs Perception Roll but that's clearly not justified with RAW sinse the sneak/hide should be against Perception DC.

Here's now how I think the ruling and relative tactics should work with regards to initiative.

Sneak vs Perception DC, if the creature's sneak is higher than PC, PCs should immediately fall below creature in initiative (the creature is unsensed and unseen, no reason to react), unless the PC was using the searching tactic. Perception roll off for initiative will just decide which PC acts first after the ambush/hidden creature acts.

Searching, If the PC was using the searching tactic, their initiative roll is also a free "seek" action (If sensed by Perception DC and search roll is higher than sneak: creature becomes Seen; If unsensed by perception DC and search roll is higher than sneak: creature becomes sensed) This would address a mechanical benefit searching has for initiative, but I'm obviously ignoring the "30 feet cone" range for seek action.

The Bats on the other hand, are common household bat swarms, and because they are difficult to hit can be resistant to most attacks. (Resistance Bludgeoning 5, Piercing 5, Slashing 2). Swarms are no longer immune to weapon damage but they do have strong resistance towards it! Additionally, Balistar realises the bats are more spooked than they are hostile and it is possible to attempt to calm them down. If a PC succeeds at DC 12 Nature check as an action, the bats do not attack anyone that round. If a PC critically succeeds at the check, he calms the bats sufficiently that they no longer pose a threat. An individual PC can attempt to escape the bats’ notice by using an action to attempt a DC 12 Stealth check.

For all intents and purposes they do have AC

For now, I'll rule that the attack hit, damaged the carrion golem, but didn't trip the creature. (It's CMD is a bit higher than its AC.)

If anyone can point me to rules I've overlooked, please let me know.

You can make a range trip attempt or range attack. Not both. If it misses the CMD, there should be no damage if it was a trip attempt

Has this been clarified anywhere?

Liberty's Edge 3/5

Really looking to more PFS playtest!

Liberty's Edge

Deadly: On a critical hit, the weapon adds a weapon damage die of the listed size. This damage increases to two dice if the weapon is master quality and three dice if the weapon is legendary.

RAW seems to suggest it is in addition to whatever weapon damage is already being rolled. And listed sized I assume is whatever damage die is after the trait on the weapon entry.

Going back to the first post, I believe 2d6 as an example for the rapier is a mistake.

Also FYI, Fatal trait replaces the weapon damage die.

Liberty's Edge

I'm bringing in a half-orc fighter.. I have him down on paper and will have his character up in 24 hours.. I've dotted in the gameplay earlier, sorry bout that!

Liberty's Edge

Right! I noticed my mistake. I did not realise we have 4 free ability bumps. I had only taken in the ancestry, background, and class. Now that clears things up...

Just to be clear, we can use a pregen or try our hand at creating a character of our own?

Also, GM, I was playing around with a dwarf paladin as well. How did you get 16s in both Str and Con with a 14 in Cha? I can't seem to make that work with the new stat method.

I haven't try to do that math specifically, but just going through my own notes, if I interpret the rules correctly, I can only get one ability to a 16.

Liberty's Edge

Starting in 10 hours or so, I will be travelling for approximately 48 hours to my vacation spot.. please bot me if required during this time. I should be able to remain to normal posting, or even better since i'm free from the burdens of work!

Liberty's Edge

Likely want to test a fighter!

Example of post that I think best represent my PBP style are below:
Brayne hates the outdoors.
Kelumur thinks fast in combat!
Azrael dungeon crawls a secret basement.

GM, didn't see the misfortune hex for their attacks? Separately, why is blue prone?

Blue's not prone, I did a boo boo in counting damage and thought it was unconscious at one point. Will have to correct that. And Also forgot about misfortune on the attack rolls! thanks for highlighting, will put in a retcon in a couple hours.

Liberty's Edge

Thanks for having me here DM S! Looking forward to finally sitting in one of your games! :D

As far as my experience with playtest goes, it's only what I've read in the blogs. My favourite class has been fighter, but i'm extremely excited to try the spellcasting functions in PFS2 and will want to try out a cleric for the playtest.

I'm in a country where Society play is scarce, and Society card game practically nil! Although not as easy to manoeuvre as the actual thing, this has allowed me to scratch that itch I've been having for the game so this is welcoming and very much appreciate how you guys put this together!

In fact, It's got me so pumped I've gone out to buy a few more decks in hope to gain interest in society card game play in my parts!

Liberty's Edge

I would be interested in continuing my ACG character as soon as OutPost ends, believe he'll hit tier 2.

Option 3 fan here, I like the idea of a thank you for your contributions.

Not a fan of a subsidised star system as historical knowledge shouldn't really translate automatically to the new system.

Liberty's Edge 3/5

While it's a ways away, it's good stuff like this that helps us understand and contribute to the changes coming. It's much appreciated and looking forward to see what comes of it.

Liberty's Edge

Love these sheets! Much lime the rest, hoping an update comes soon for the newer decks!

Liberty's Edge

I'm a huge fighter fan, as such I'll name a couple fighter archetypes that I've enjoyed experimenting with.
1. Two handed fighter
2. Two weapon fighter
3. Cad
4. Lore warden

And just to sizzle it up, one alchemists archetype:

5. Grenadier

I'm leaning to bring Brayne if bringing him means we play at higher tier 4 player adjustments due to mid tier APL.

Else if we're full on high tier I'll bring the rogue. Kelumur

Liberty's Edge

Sorry in advance, but I have more questions! Thank you for the earlier explanation on Traders. I was a heavy RotR and SS card game player when it came out but haven't tried anything after, so a lot of this new additions are quite foreign to me.

I noticed the Scourge dice and Scourge table, but am not getting what that is suppose to reference? (besides the lurking spy making a reference to one of the possible scourges) What is this "Scourge" referring to?

I have dotted in. Thanks! I look forward to getting this going. Do we know how we are supposed to play this one, like since Nigel did this last year, is he supposed to act like he knows whats going on or are we supposed to play it like part A never happened?

There has never been an official guidance on this. I'll let you guys decide how you want to play it out, a comical dejavu, rewind time or whatever suits you!

Liberty's Edge

Hey everyone!

I've got two options here:

A natural attack dual cursed oracle 2/barbarian 2: who likes to use "command" when he is not raging.

OR

UnRogue 3 fighter 2: Who is pretty much sneak attack and dirty trick focused, as well as with pretty much all the rogue-like skills.

I am happy to go either way depending on party need.

Liberty's Edge

I also can't seem to find the rule for traders in the guild guide. I just downloaded the latest version 5.0.

Liberty's Edge

Hey guys, while i'm pretty keen to use the Goblin's burn deck, I know that Goblin's can be a bit player unfriendly. Pretty cool powers but causes havoc to friendlies. So just wanted to check if everyone is ok with that, else I'll pull out my other deck, gunslinger.

So, I've been playing around with the idea of starting a campaign on here, and I was thinking it might be fun to do something new (for me).

That's why I'm curious to see if people might be interested in a Mutant Chronicles campaign.
We'd be using the Modiphius version, with their 2d20 rules.

There are a couple of Caveats though.
First, I've never run a Mutant Chronicles Campaign before, so I'm not 100% up on the rules.
Experience counts for a lot after all.

Second, it's been a while since I've run anything at all, so I'm a bit rusty.

Third, I have no experience with map tools, nor do I have any, nor the time to learn right now, so there wouldn't be any maps, and distances and such would be handled by description.

Hmm, can't think of anything more at the moment, but feel free to ask.

The warp, the gateway to the stars, and a realm of untold terrors and horror.
Coursing through the immaterial waves is an imperial ship, The Rising Sun, on course for the Carsis sector of known space.
At the bridge, everything is quiet currently, the crewmember in charge at the moment might as well be a faceless entity.
His current level of power is as unwelcome as the rash on his neck, but thankfully, neither is likely to troulbe him much further.
Leaning back against one of the cogitators, he takes a sip from his mug of lukewarm recaff and sighs.
I could be in bed by now, but noooo, someone had to be in charge, and it just HAD to be me...

Suddenly, he is roused from his irritated musings by a call from the forward consol.
"Sir, we've arrived at our destination!"
That was unexpected, looking at the chrono on the wall, it seemed like they were almost a month ahead of schedule, which while not a bad ting, might not mean much
back in real space, since the warp can play tricks on you.
Either way, things were about to get a bit more exciting around here.
"Well then, prepare for transition! Sound the alarm! And send out a call to the Lord-Captain and the senior officers!"
Moments later, lights began to flash, and the horn let out a low, long wail, signaling everyone to get into position.

And a Somewhat redundant Discussion Thread.

Downtown Seattle...
You’ve heard it all before, the attempts at creating some kind of slogan for the area.
Pointing out that it’s just near Council Island, that there are some high end living locals, the number of eateries and such.
But then someone will point out that you also have a sprawling slum, a large population of SINless, and that crime is a constant problem.
“Downtown, it’s not Bellevue but at least it’s not as shit as Redmond”.
The best you can say perhaps is that it’s the perfect area of upward mobility, with the usual qualifiers of course.
But here is where you are, and for now, here is where you stay.

If you can make it out of Downtown, or even just to the better areas? Hey, that’s up to you.
How far are you willing to go, how much are you willing to risk?
Do you have anything to gamble with besides your life?
Downtown has it all, even things you might not want it to have.
In some ways, for a Runner, this could be said to be close to paradise, or at the very least, an ideal working situation.
And here you are, and for now, here is where you stay.

For runners, there is stiff competition, seattle is or was the home of some legendary prime runners.
Fastjack, Calvin “The Vampire Hunter”, Bad Wolf, Red and Rude, Alicia Connors and Man of Many Names.
While the stiff competition means it can be hard to break into the market and get some good gigs, it also means that if you do, then people will take notice and be more willing to hire you.
And consider Seattles unique status, and the presence of ALL the Tripple A corporations, not to mention many home grown Double A’s, there are plenty of Mr Johnson to go around.
So ask yourself, why are you here, and why do you stay?

In the Serpent's Skull players guide there is a line that has caused a friend of mine some confusion, it goes like this.

"Also, a paladin’s mount can
often prove troublesome in the claustrophobic jungle
tangles and shadowy ruins common to the upcoming
adventures—making the ability to summon and dismiss
such a companion at will most beneficial."

Basically, as he is currently playing a Paladin in my game he wants to know if there is a way to do what it says, dismiss his mount at will.
Does anybody know what that line references?

I think the title says it all, I've never tried it before but I am very keen to try, especially since I'm not in any active groups here in RL at the moment.
I would like to join in any group playing one of the AP's except Legacy of fire since it was that group we just finished.
