__________
More than a hundred years ago, Delbera Axebringer—a mighty warrior and dwarven leader—slew the necromancer Audalot Karexin. Now, descendants of the Axebringer clan are vanishing, dragged screaming into the darkness by the animated bodies of their fallen kin. The Axebringers and their hometown of Davarn need heroes to break this family curse. What mysteries lie sealed within Delbera Axebringer's ancient abandoned fortress? And what challenges lurk along the Blighted Path winding through the Darklands beneath Golarion's surface?
"Down the Blighted Path" is a deluxe adventure for 5th-level characters, and includes 64 action-packed pages of exciting battles, supernatural mysteries, and monstrous foes, plus a gorgeous double-sided poster map featuring an overview of the dwarven trading post of Davarn and a miniatures-scale battlemap! The author of this adventure, Monica Marlowe, was the winner of the 2015 RPG Superstar contest, in which hundreds of unpublished authors competed for the chance to write a Pathfinder Module. In addition to her adventure, this book contains a host of new monsters and magic items designed by the contest's runners-up.
Players can expect to reach 7th level upon completion of this adventure—if they can survive its deadly haunts, Darklands horrors, and furious villains both living and undead!
__________
__________
All players must use an existing Pathfinder Society character (without modification) within the legal character levels range for the specific sanctioned portion of the adventure being played.
Alternatively, you may play the entirety of Down the Blighted Path, afterward receiving credit for playing the sanctioned portions of the adventure as if you had played a pregenerated character. In this case, GMs running the module are not bound to the rules of the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild campaign (such as 20-point buy, unavailability of hero points, etc.) when running the campaign or the sanctioned portion of the adventure. Pathfinder Society characters and characters playing in this alternative format may not play in the same adventure.
__________
Does the group have a preference? PFS style or campaign mode?
Sanctioned Content:
- Part 1: Firebrand’s Redoubt (levels 4–6)
- Part 2: Winding into Darkness (levels 5-7)
- Part 3: The Tower Spite Built (levels 6-8)
If you play the whole thing and put all of the credit on a single character, there is also a bonus chronicle sheet for levels 7-9.

Qstor also told me about this. I can go either way, PFS or campaign mode. In the 4-6 range, I sadly only have five PFS characters:
Parkhtu - 4th level Oradin healer
Rattakhu - 4th level alchemist
Valien - 5th level Oradin of battle
Mordecai - 6th level arcanist
Veritas - 6th level monk/inquisitor archer
In less than a month we'll be moving from Europe back to the US, but hopefully I won't ever be away from the internet for too long.

![]() |

Qstor mentioned this game to me, as well. I'd love to play.
I have a single PFS character at this tier: Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah, a Bbn1/Ftr5.

![]() |

Cool with me, Thamius. That's a big move, so please take whatever time you need.
Bah, it's my 18th move of one type or another in the last 28 years. Most of our stuff is already loaded and en route so not much else to do now, since the router will be the last thing out! I'll be able to get on pretty much every day, so we can start whenever.
I'm not really seeing any healing other than some wands or much ranged ability, but we're good on melee, stealth, and spellcasting. So, oradin healer, alchemist, or archer?

![]() |

Kelvor says, "A healer would be most welcome, in my humble opinion. Naturally, I cannot speak for the tshamek, not knowing them."

![]() |

This is my healing oracle/paladin.

![]() |

This is Manaria. Staff Magus, but going more with a trip specialist build than pure magic user.

![]() |

Cool! Welcome everybody; it looks like we have quite the menagerie. :) Whenever you've decided on your character, feel free to dot in the gameplay thread.
Managing expectations:
- This is a module; the intro is a little contrived. Please just roll with it. :D
- To conform with the PFS style, we'll run everything exactly as written. However, tactics are not provided for several encounters. How "hard" do you want me to be? My default is that I tend to play for laughs and cool factor. (I'm not typically out to provide a tactical challenge. I really like it when PCs get to do their "special thing.") But, this is our collective adventure; we can adjust to suit the tastes of the group.
- I tend to post roughly once a day on weekdays and somewhat irregularly on weekends and holidays. (There are some times when I post more frequently, but not often.) I'm not in a hurry, and I won't leave a game hanging. We all have lives, families, and other responsibilities; I'm not rabid about post rate.
- I have a trip in late July, so there may be a spate of time that I'll be unable to post.
- If there's one thing that you love to have your PC do, please let me know. There may be opportunities to work that into the adventure.
Anything else y'all need to know before we start?

Bhuukka is far from optimized in my opinion. I haven't played him much over the past two years because I had a hard time deciding where I would go with him. My thought was 3 or 4 levels of rogue with the rest being oracle levels. I'm open to ideas as well advance through the adventure. There doesn't seem to be any real divine rogue prestige classes, so I'll probably have to choose one path or the other.
The concept was built around a prophet of Lao Shu Po, but instead of loudly proclaiming bad omens in the street, he delivers them personally by breaking into the house of his intended target and leaving messages or visions while they sleep. (He may, of course, help himself to a few of the victim's valuables on the way out - Thieves' Guild vanity.)
As for why he joined the Society, it gives him an opportunity to travel and he believes Lao Shu Po has a hand in what missions are offered to him. But really he is waiting for the time when Lao Shu Po will give him an omen to deliver to the Society itself regarding a time of great loss.
A slight complication is Bhuukka's curse. He was tasked to deliver visions of terror but he would never hear the cries of his victims. Bhuukka is deaf. This means that audible effects, like certain bard abilities won't work on him. He does have the ability to read lips though, so you only need to be within 10 feet to communicate verbally. But on the other hand all his spells are cast silently and he likes to sneak around, so he's OK with areas of magical silence should the need arise.
Bhuukka also has the trap spotter talent (+14 Perception vs traps).
I also tend to post daily except on weekends where I am less consistent.
I'm going to be away June 19-23 and July 19-21. Not sure if I'll be able to post much during those days.

I'm game for cool factor and Death-o-Meter: Medium.

Ooooh! An oracle of ill-omen. Kelvor will feel right at home! His own Shoanti shamans of ill-omen have sent him out into the outlander world to discover the coming disaster and report back.

Thanks again.

Turen likes to use his Incite Unreliability bardic ability

Kelvor needs to cleave. He's never really cleaved before. Well, there were those extremely squishy goblins in Thistletop, that one time, but they don't really count, do they?

My spells have been selected and are now in my stat block.

As an invigorator paladin, Parkhtu doesn't smite his enemies, he protects himself and up to four allies with Bestow Hope. It grants DR 1/- for the duration of each combat, seven times/day. Parkhtu refers to this as "preemptive healing."
GM, when this ability is in effect do you want to take the DR into consideration, or do you want each of us to do the math for our characters?

![]() |

Batpony here. Double checked chronicles my monk fighter is already level 7 after all, even without the live game that may or may not happen tomorrow.
Anji has not been in PBP so I'll have to transfer his profile from his sheets to the PBP alias.

I'm game for cool factor and Death-o-Meter: Medium.
:) Medium. Got it! Please feel free to chime in if we need to adjust harder, easier, more-cool, less-cool, etc.

Since everyone needs to track their HP anyway, I would appreciate it if you tracked your own damage. Thanks!
__________PC wants:
Bhuukka: Deliver bad news (?)
Turen: Incite Unreliability
Kelvor: Cleave
Any others?

![]() |

Do we have a wizard or sorcerer? Just curious about our arcane support, other than Manaria.

Oh oh oh, and a pony! With saddlebags full of 5 million gold pieces!

![]() |

Bhuukka: Deliver bad news (?)
That pretty much sums it up. :)
I just have to make a few purchases from my last chronicle, but otherwise I should be set.

![]() |

I'm a bard :)
LOL. True that. :)

![]() |

Nothing too spectacular. Other than me tripping and then moving in for the kill. I play this character loose. She is not your typical 10 shocking grasp magus. I mean I have one prepped, but that is not my only trick.

I will be away from Wednesday night through Sunday night. I may not be able to post during that time.

![]() |

I apologise! I just returned from my road trip vacation today. I had kot realised how tiring that it could be. I'll get a post up by tonight and will be back to regular posting from today.

I'll be away at a convention from Friday through Sunday, so the timing works for me.
