Hey sorry all, I've been sick with Covid past few days, and will be dealing with that. I'll try to post if possible, but feel free to bot me. Just notifying my games. Also, I understand the struggle. I had Pneumonia several times as a child. IT sucks, take care. (also, try honey and whiskey)
If they are within that ruin, it is likely we should hurry. A place for the unquiet dead if I have ever seen one. Alex's face shows no sign of humor at the moment as he hurries off towards it.
earlier- Alex nods. The town can count on us, sir. now- Alex watches his companions work. Raising an eyebrow slightly. For now, he leaves them to it. Instead, he walks around the area, looking for any other signs of happenings.
Alex smiles at Kreed. It would be wrong of us, who are able to, to not do what we can for our town. I'm sure good deeds done will never go unrewarded. In some form or another. He glances back to the relieved faces of townsfolk. Is this new need involving the missing children? He asks.

Alex mentally sighs when he hears the news. Playing the Hero is tiring work...Still, I'd lie if I said it didn't feel nice at least. I suppose it involves the missing children.. His own included. Well, lets get going. We don't want to keep Kreed waiting after all. Glad to see it seems he's relying so heavily on us now.
Alex strides with purpose and poise. He would show no weakness, not now. Instead, an air of confidence radiates from him.
Well, I can see in the dark fine, so, yeah. Lets return as the heros we are. Alex gives a large smile. And better yet, as someone the people believe in that much more.
Alexander will hand the arrow to Helgash, the one among them seeming most proficient with a bow. If we need it, make sure to make it count.
Alex sits down as they are forced to make camp for the night. Either due to exhaustion or visibility. He sighs, leaning his head to the side and taking a drink from his canteen. I must admit, this trip has taken much longer than I had hoped... Its like the forest seems to grow as we sleep... I only hope we are not too late. Still, I think some good has come from all of this at least. And hopefully much more in the future. He holds the fey token in his hand, looking it over for several long moments lost in thought. Though what exactly he is thinking about, is unknown. I'll have to pay the queen a visit or three, after all, I think she took a liking to me heheh. Can't say I wouldn't be unhappy at that, heh.

Well... lets see if the fey are good for their word. Not that I don't believe them, just... you hear stories about their Capriciousness. He shrugs before attempting to use the figurine to make the boat.

I say give him his weapon and his bow. But let us keep the arrows if you are worried. Though I suppose you could keep the bow if you desire recompense.
being the only d8 class (I think) to have only 1 good save, I thank you for the NPC level that had 2 good saves. lol.
Just to note, Alexander has the Orator feat, and so uses linguistics in place of most diplomacy/bluff/intimidate checks. So don't feel hemmed in by that.

Tch.. only a 100...? Alex mutters to himself. Do you know any of the reasoning behind the bounties? Alex likely already knew the answer, but maybe he did know something they didn't.
I would like to apologize to you all for my absence. I don't like talking about it, as usually I can deal with it, however I have, slightly random swings of burnout and apathy over the course of the year where I lose all interest in almost everything. Where even things I normally greatly enjoy feel like a chore to do at best. Normally, I can push through, continue on and eventually the "burnout" as I've called it leaves. However I've hit a particularly rough patch this time around. That coupled with doubling my work time due to the holidays has left me with the desire to do nothing. However, that doesn't excuse my radio silence in this, and my other games. So again, I would like to apologize for that. I think I'm on the upswing, and, if you would still have me I will happily rejoin the game properly in hopefully a few days time.
Alex pops a shot at one of the crows.

Alex rolls his eyes as Straug gives his sermon. Yes, they certainly are the cause of this sickness that is killing countless people while we tarry about. One can protect something without having to kill every possible living, or unliving, threat to it. Often times it would be better to strike a deal with those intelligent enough to do so. It saves blood, lives, and you may find it creates allies in the strangest of places... That said, he has been warned. If he so much as sniffs Hallow, I will be throwing their pelts out as a rug in my home. Of that, have no doubt.

Help us, and we, and our town, can help you. Mutual protection, and shared hunting grounds. We might can even work in a small offering of food to you and your pack every so often. If either of our groups are threatened, without provocation, we could call upon each other. There would be stipulations, no attacking or hunting us or those with us including the towns and camps. And no hunting their animals without express, uninfluenced permission. I believe this would benefit everyone going forward. He finishes his proposal, looking to the side and towards the ground before slowly looking up and locking stares with greypelt. That said, if you ever threaten my pack we won't hesitate to do what is necessary. After a long stare, he smiles. Which I'm sure you understand well.
Alex is mildly stunned at what he sees. However, he quickly remembers the fey and shrugs it off. A strange world indeed He does not lower his blade however. As said, we seek these mushrooms. They would normally grow where iron shavings fall.

Alex had already moved on, shaking his head at the clearly insane dwarf. That said, another shield against the creatures here is fine by me. He does at least try to gleam some information from the new dwarf. Since he proved he wasn't completely addled in regards to the ruby and altar. Anywhere that would have a forge, or metal shavings is what we want. Marvin, do you know any spots with that?
Alexander, for his part, looks on in both astonishment, amusement, and down right confusion. The dwarf had done the unthinkable, he had left Alex speechless. What do you know of this place... uh.. Marvin? Do you know where the forges, if any, were in this place? And please, leave the rubble be, there will be a time to clean it, but we must act with haste to find what we seek. For time is running out for many.

Alex levels his blade, ready to strike if he gets the chance, but otherwise does nothing due to the confines of the small room. Maybe its friendly? You know, more scared of you than you are it. He says, in half sarcasm.
When it is brought up about something having been here, Alex looks around again. It is likely whatever we have been hearing. I'm not sure if it is hunting us, or merely keeping eyes on us and staying out of our way... Either way, let us continue. The sooner we find what we need, the sooner we can leave and get back to the village. We can return to investigate more thoroughly at a later time.
After having it pointed out, Alex will move up and try to cut the rope without any harm coming to the group. Here, best I just get rid of this, lest it cause issues for us later.

He quickly returns to the others. Its time to go. I don't like this, with all the noise they know where we are, and we haven't a clue who, what, their intentions or how many they are. I fear we may be surrounded if we remain here any longer. He nods the opposite direction. I heard another sound from the there, not growling, but like rocks bumping each other, possibly knocked by feet.
at the mention of the growling, Alex lets the others survey the new room. He goes back to lean against the wall, trying to keep quiet and out of sight, near the entrance from the direction Thallin directed. He quickly takes a peak around the edge to see if he notices anything.
Could always just cut through it if need be. Alex says as he moves to help with the door. He gives a hard shoulder barge alongside the others.
Good work all, those things were... disturbing to say the least. As Straug breaks the door down, Alex can't help but grimace. You know, I have ways of doing that without as much noise.. But.. I suppose it was efficient... good job. He gives a smile sheathes his blade at this point. He places a hand on his shoulder. Here, let me have a look before you batter it down. I'd rather not draw anything else here to us if possible.

Alex steps around the pillar, coming up behind the creature and takes a stab at it.
Alexander takes a step over the bench, jumping slightly to avoid the creatures around him and landing in a spot to try and flank one of the creatures with Straug. He glances towards Cathoris as he speaks and lets out a small chuckle.
It bleeds, and if it bleeds, it can be killed. He pauses a moment Sometimes it can be killed even if it doesn't bleed. He strikes out with his blade
Alex will try to get into the room, moving behind Kronk and Helgash to try and avoid and flailing from the creature.
He then strikes at the one engaged with Tark.
just to make it known, Alex has both low-light and darkvision(60ft)

Now- Alex steps up and swings at the horrid looking creature.
Alex moves into the room as well, not wanting to chat as they move further in for fear of the noise. Alex gives a nod to Helgash. Ready to aid.
My friend, what is with you and dangling by rope or rope like things? Alex asks Straug with a grin. Hopefully at least, those creatures kept this place fairly clean of other dangers.
