Wild beasts, demon lords, lost secrets… Owlcat reveals its future plans for the Pathfinder franchise, including the premium DLCs in Season Pass 2

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the first title created by Owlcat as an independent studio with complete control over the development, and we have far-reaching plans for future updates and new content,” says Alexander Mishulin, Creative Director at Owlcat Games. “It’s been a year since we released the game, but there’s still a dedicated team in our studio working exclusively on Pathfinder. And we have a lot of ideas for your future adventures. Thus, we will continue making new content in the form of DLC for our game.”

Season Pass 2
New friends and enemies, dangers and rewards await you—both as extensions of the main Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous campaign and as standalone experiences.

DLC #4
Here comes a new companion for the Knight Commander’s party and a new playable class: the ever-changing shifter! Bolster your party with a reliable brawler capable of taking on the aspects of various wild beasts. Delve into the lost secrets of Old Sarkoris. And who knows? Maybe you will even find new love, one transcending time itself.

DLC #5
This new standalone campaign picks up where the “Through the Ashes” DLC story left off. A new demon lord with hordes of frozen minions is emerging from the depths of the Abyss. With the Knight Commander busy elsewhere, what can a group of regular adventurers with no mythic powers do to save the day? This expansion offers a 6-7 hour story, which you can play independently or with the hero from your “Through the Ashes” saved game. And when you’re done, a new dungeon in the main campaign will be open for the Knight Commander to explore.

DLC #6
During your first visit to Kenabres, things didn’t go well. Now that the demonic assault has been thwarted and the crusaders are preparing their final counterattack, why not take a little break? Kenabres, burned and rebuilt, is holding a new festival, and the Knight Commander will be the guest of honor. This is your chance to spend some quality time away from the battlefields together with your companions—and, perhaps, go on a special date with your loved one. Be careful, though: the war isn’t over yet, and even the new, peaceful Kenabres might be hiding its share of secrets...

Season Pass 2 is available for pre-order on PC today. It will arrive for consoles later, with the release of the first of three new DLCs.

To commemorate the Season Pass 2 reveal, Owlcat has announced a Halloween “Scream Sale” on Steam, with discounts on the following editions: 55% on Mythic and Commander Editions and 30% off on the recent premium DLC "The Treasure of the Midnight Isle.” The promotion runs from October 25 through November 1, 2022.

This is a good game, better than its original, much like Pillars of Eternity 2. Enjoy it!

It sounds like the Shifter companion might be Sarkorian himself, which would be a real joy to see - it's a shame how little the Sarkorians themselves feature in either version of Wrath of the Righteous. Here's hoping Owlcat does right by them.

Deadfire deserved so much better than it got. One of the best settings in a CRPG ever - I appreciated how each of the four factions was terrible in their own way, but also vibrant and fascinating.

I wonder who the new demon lord will be. My money is on Kostchtchie. His portfolio includes ice and winter, and he already has stats in the game in case he needs to make an appearance in the new dungeon.

As the self-proclaimed #1 Sarkoris Fanboy on this board, I am VERY excited for this dude! Though he may necessitate revising my Knight-Commander concept accordingly, since he was originally written to sort of be a Sarkorian scion himself...

Oh shoot, I still gotta play through that too. I got maybe midway through the first one before I got character-design regret and felt compelled to start over, and then never did. My Steam Library is a graveyard haunted by the accusing spectres of games purchased and unplayed! T_T

You're close. New is in fact a bit of a misnomer:

Through The Ashes SPOILERS!:
It's revealed just before the cliffhanger the first part ends on that the enemy who's been hounding Sendri is Sitthud, the demon lord who originally ruled Kostchtchie's realm. Kostchtchie beat Sitthud up so bad he got demoted back to nascent demon lord status, and is the only demon lord currently known to have been humiliated like that. Naturally he's a sore loser and is looking to gather enough power (some of which Sendri has) for a rematch.

Are there any tutorials on this game? I got it from the Kickstarter. I played for an hour trying to get out of the town square. Couldn't figure it out. Uninstalled it. I'll probably re-download it and try it again. Hopefully I can figure it out this time!

Shifter Archetype I Want: Swarm Shifter.
I was sad that I had to be evil to be a Swarm-That-Walks. So I am hoping swarm shifter is one of the archetypes available for shifter when it comes out. It would also be cool to put the swarm with other mythic paths. For example Swarm Shifter and Azata: Clouds of furious butterflies destroying the enemies of Desna.

I really want to try this game because I’ve never played or read Wrath of the Righteous, and I think it’d be great inspiration for when I finally do convert it to 2e for my table. But so much I’ve heard about the game puts me off (tons of filler combat, daunting crusade system, bosses with absurdly high stats, etc.) Is there hope that I might enjoy this even if I hate overly complex game systems? Is there a difficulty mode intended for babies or something?

There's a Story difficulty which basically prevents character death and drastically lowers enemy stats, which should work for what you're looking for! You can make it so the companions automatically level up with builds that are fine for Story mode, and turn off the Crusade system to deal with two of your three concerns. The tons of filler combat is sadly something that just can't be avoided - I much prefer turn-based mode for combat in general, but if you're on Story I'd advise just staying to real-time combat, as it makes the filler combats much faster. Without character death, you shouldn't have much difficulty with not having quite as good tactical decisions from the way real-time combat works, and you can always change to turn-based for a specific combat if it's causing issues :)

There are. Do a search. I recommend the Fextralife wiki for WotR.

As for getting out of Kenabres's square...

Spoiler:
Gotta go do things around the square. Drink beer where Seelah is, toss throwing knife at target, punch dummy etc. Then the plot will happen :D

I'm excited, new party member! Who also is new romance! Denied bestest Tiefling romance without mods, I'm interested to see how different this one will be.
