It was a pleasure having you over, Tonya! Glad you had a good time. I thoroughly enjoyed the two Starfinder games for which I had the pleasure of sitting at your table! We're running our first game of it on Monday in Palmerston North thanks to the fun and experience we had at PaizoCon Oz. Hope to see you again if I ever get the chance to come over for a Stateside Paizocon!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and photos with us! It looked like you had an awesome trip and made memories of a lifetime! Very jealous, but very glad you had the opportunity to play in Hobbiton!

Thanks for sharing, Tonya.
Roleplaying Pathfinder in the Green Dragon Inn, Hobbiton - setting of Lord of the Rings - sounds like an amazing event! I wish I could have been there.
VCs Glen and Paul and the entire NZ Pathfinder community have definitely raised the bar, not sure how any future event can top this experience!

Going with the idea that the Shire was at approximately the location of England, I grew up figuring that as an American I lived on the eastern shore of Valinor. Many years later I remember reading (in the Silmarillion, I thin) that Valinor was actually removed from the world after the sinking of Numenor, meaning that I instead lived in some unknown land never mentioned in any of Tolkien's writing.

It was a pleasure to welcome our many international and domestic Pathfinders to Matamata and the Green Dragon Inn at Hobbiton.
I had a great time running a table at the Green Dragon Inn. I posted more extensive thanks on the now obsolete event page.
We may return to Hobbiton, for me personally I'd love to have my kids with me and playing at the same table. We'll consider it for PaizoCon Oz 2027!

From the cockles of my heart, I want to thank the Irvings, Serena and Glen, for the organisation, the time, and the insight into making PaizoConOz 2017 at Hobbiton the most spectacular gaming experience that I've ever had.
Our Journey There and Back Again has now completed, but the adventures never end for us, do they? We all have this privilege of joyfully coming together to slay dragons and find treasures each time we sit at a table, whether it be near Bag End or in our own living room. We were lucky enough to be able to convince the good people at Hobbiton to allow us to do so in the Green Dragon Inn, and for that, I will forever be touched.
Here's the secret, though: the magic is inside us, not a location. Tonya and Guy, Jason and Benjamin, Densial, Matt, Jeff, Hollie, Peter, Waiata, Bevan, Kelly, and Badger (and many others) - that's where the magic lies. And you - reader who is shaking your head at my over-wrought and semi-melodramatic monologue - the magic rests in you as well. Just pick up your favourite d20 and try to deny me.
I love this game. I love the global community it has fostered. I love the inclusive way that this game allows all of us to strap on chain mail, memorise a few cantrips, and set out there and play. Together.
Cast your spell. The Shire will always be waiting.
