This week's Pathfinder Battles preview reveals two of my favorite figures in October's Deadly Foes set, both of whom very much live up to their name.

Up first this week is the Technic League Captain, a villainous lout from the barbaric land of Numeria, where the remnants of a huge spaceship that crashed long ago still fuel the people with weird liquids and technological debris. Our friend the Technic League Captain, culled from the pages of the Inner Sea World Guide, has made that technology work for him in the form of a cool futuristic sword. Is it a ghost touch weapon? A brilliant energy blade? You decide! The Technic League Captain is a Medium, rare figure.

The Fire Diabolist is one of my favorite illustrations from the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: NPC Codex, which continues to be a great source of images for the Pathfinder Battles line. This 20th-level cleric of Asmodeus (!!!) comes ready to rumble with a killer mace and a sturdy shield. The Fire Diabolist is a Medium, rare figure who would probably prefer to cook your player characters all the way to well done!

That's it for this week. Swing by in seven days for another look at what WizKids has in store in October's Deadly Foes set!

Until then, I remain...

Excellent. The cleric of Asmodeus is one of those pieces of art from the NPC codex I've been hoping to see in plastic, along side the evil halfing with the top hat and a few others. Since this now makes three thrune/Asmodeus miniatures, all very similar, would it be safe to say one of the focus groups in this set would be these fine fellows? In which case perhaps a fourth Asmodean(?)is coming?

The technic league captain an unexpected surprise. He looks very useful, and the anti technology folks out there could quite readily paint his sword metallic giving them a nice fighter type.

Overall two more solid additions and once again the rarity seems spot on, although I may need to hunt down a second Technic league agent for a sword touch up.

Erik, any chance we may get an insight into the dressing for this one some time very soon? Perhaps a look at the hobgoblins?

Or the devils...

Or the angels...

Err, hang on....

2 great human(oid) minis!

I love the Reaper metal minis converted to plastic form and hope we get them all eventually.

Great to have the TLC, he makes for a cool barbarian PC.

And the FD is a formidable villain or lawful evil PC for Hell's Vengeance or Way of the Wicked!

Thank you, Erik! :-)

Wish that fire diabolist was uncommon, i could have used 2-3 of that piece. I am going to guess he will be popular on the secondary market.

Now you have revealed:

3/13 common minis
4/11 uncommon small/medium minis
3/8 uncommon large minis
2/8 rare small/medium minis
0/4 rare large minis

0/6 dressings

We can still expect:

Bearded Devil - medium uncommon?

Aram the Golden Heart - medium rare?

Keketar Protean - large rare?

3 medium common hobgoblins?

1 medium rare hobgoblin?

1 large uncommon (female) giant?

1 medium uncommon Hound Archon?

1 medium rare Jilia, female vampire?

1 small common Lantern Archon?

1 medium uncommon barbed devil?

1 large rare Bone Devil?

1 medium rare contract devil?

1 medium uncommon Kyton?

Great expectations.

Just started Iron Gods - it'll be nice to have that guy around. ^_^

is that clear plastic for the green sword?
looks very versitile as any barbarian type

very nice cleric too, no worries the painters will muck up his (or her) face ;-)

Paint his sword metalic and you can have him double up as a Shoanti.

The troops of baddies (and npcs like guards) are one of the biggest reasons I became a case subscriber. I'm not sure my players are quite as thrilled with you arming me with such numbers of foes, but these groups always seem to make it to the table even though we usually run home brew campaigns instead of running APs.

So many great minis have been revealed so far, and as Marco hinted I don't think the rest will be disappointing either. I'm looking forward to this set already, the wait until October is going to be tough.

If that is clear plastic, it's too cool to paint over, I might wrap it up in tin foil though.

I though Vampires were medium-rare only after Staking.

3D sculpt of Cleric looks fantastic. Hope this translates well to final product.

Minis look great, no Red Mantis Assassin in the set and it will be a disappointment however!

All good things...

The green sword is definitely clear plastic.

This is the first set that has me thinking I need a case...argh...I have too much to paint...

Agh! A pair of awesome-looking minis! Shame the set won't be out until October, I would have loved to have the Technic League Captain available for the playthrough of Iron Gods I've been GM'ing.

It's obviously a primitive lightsaber. c:
