I'm not actually making this up. The flight attendant was like, "Wow, we were scheduled to go somewhere else, but we got the plane unloaded and they told us to take the empty plane to Indianapolis."
Do not mess with Dire Care Bears or Bull Men.
Yes, Buhlman's prayers to Lord Asmodeus were answered, and no wonder; he sacrificed three stuffed bears (that he stole from passing children), two large bags of candy (likewise) and a full set of Schneider's favorite childhood pajamas! To augment the effects of this unholy summoning ritual, Buhlman conducted it in the ladies' room, claiming to be "a bear-hating bearded lady from Sweden".
I swear, this is how it happened.
It's funny, but something similar to this happened in Clinton J. Boomer's book, The Hole Behind Midnight. Really good book! But not for little kids. The language and content are at the NC-17 end of R.

Can we get a who's who on that picture?
Thanks!
So where can I get that shirt? =D

Jessica Price wrote:My suggestion that we take the train back instead and spend the next several days hanging out in the dining car, playing the games we bought at Gen Con and solving the inevitable murder mystery was not met with much approval. :(I think we all liked the idea in theory (or the road trip in a giant van with an online map and a donation link to bid for us to stop at local gamestores and play games along the way), but the length of the trip was just going to be too long.
Hey, I know folks who took a train to PaizoCon…

I'm just surprised that John didn't have a Feather Token (Boeing 747) on him.
I packed for a lot of contingencies Derek, but not that one. Strangely enough, those feather tokens are a real pain to get through airport security. You're not supposed to bring a plane onto a plane? Who knew?

Also stranded—I guess delayed is more accurate—were Sara Marie, Jessica Price, Stephen Radney-MacFarland, Mike Kenway, and Other Mark's significant other.
And hidden behind them is me, having a chuckle until I realized my own flight was also delayed. Probably for the best that they didn't take me up on my offer that they all come to Canada instead.

I hold the hope of Train Con in my heart. SOMEDAY THIS WILL BE A THING.
Well, sad man that I am, can I request...
a) The train is the Hogwarts Express
b) it is going TO Hogwarts
c) where the Paizocon convention could be held...
d) with lunches in the Great Hall just like in the films - YUM!
Then all your Paizocon events / demonstrations / chats can be referred to as classes in magic ;)
You would of course hold your sales area in certain multi colored shops of magical goodness in a little snowy covered village of restauarants and honey beer providing pubs :P
All your developers would feel at home working at gringotts during the con too, every last goblin one of them :D

And that is because Clinton is also a devotee of Asmodeus, and generally a raving madman to boot! Although he is a strapping lad when compared to The Pett... ;P

Our flight TO Indy from NYC got canceled the night before it was departing (we were arriving early Wednesday so we could get some beer drinking in and get up early Thurs), but we were able to snag one with a layover in Detroit and only lost a few hours. Apparently we got the last two seats but then on the flight there were a few empty ones.
Apparently the weather wreaked some havoc, I'm just glad we made it.

Hoo, why would our Almighty Lord, the Supreme Deity, accept either of them as His blessed disciplines? They'd most likely be followers of lesser, weaker gods, such as Desna the Ugly Butterfly or the Drunken Idiot Cayden! ;P

I've looked into taking the train to GenCon before. The trip TO Indianapolis from DC is quite doable (the train stops in Manassas, just up the road) but the trip BACK is the problem. The train doesn't run every day, so the only way to get back in a timely fashion is to go on to Chicago and then catch a different train going east. All in all, it takes longer AND costs more than either driving OR flying.
For now I'll stick with my mighty Impala and a co-driver who can tolerate those energy drinks.

Boomer may or may not be a devotee of Lawful Asmodeus, but his beard and hair are at best Neutral, if not full on Chaotic. :)

Boomer is a synthesist, and his beard and hair... or, rather, what *appears* to be bodily hair, is his eidolon (and evidently Chaotic Neutral). And I tell you, do *not* meddle with Boomer's eidolon, it's a nasty, filthy beast...
