Jason & Sean at Neoncon!

Thursday, November 4, 2010

This weekend designers Jason Bulmahn and Sean K Reynolds will be prowling the Las Vegas strip under the pretext of being guests at Neoncon. If you're planning on attending Neoncon, make sure you seek those guys out and say "hi!" If you have pseudo-celebrity paralysis, though, and need more of an icebreaker, I've included some suggestions along with their schedules below. And don't worry, while he looks scary, it's the other one you need to worry about.

What happened to the kangaroo that used to be on your desk?

Why, Jason? Just why?

Icebreakers

What's the coolest thing in Ultimate Magic that I don't know about?

Who's your favorite Pathfinder deity?

How's your weekly lunchtime painting group going?

I heard you're a scary germophobe. Is this true?

Why does your office look like you're moving... and then an earthquake happened... and then the apocalypse hit?

What's the "K" stand for? (He loves that one.)

Sweet schedule. I hope I can drop in for a few minutes. I'm coordinating the Pathfinder Society games. That'll keep me busy full time.

Ravage verses Laserbeak. Discuss.

Laserbeak, every time.

Gotta go with Ravage - at the last minute he out-cools him.

Are we talking Shattered Glass Ravage, or G1 Ravage? G1 Laserbeak that turns into an AC/DC cassette, or Animate Laserbeak that turns into a Flying V electric guitar?

These are important distinctions!

G1. Everything else is insignificant !

One that Jason really likes is when people ask him where the missing "u's" are in words such as armour and colour. Or at least why he couldn't make a Canadian or English edition pdf with the proper spelling. ;)

In just a few hours, Brandon and I will be joining those two! Games and debauchery, two great tastes that...wait, no...that's not how it goes. Anyway, much fun will be had for all! If anyone reading this is going, sign up for my Monster in an Hour workshop!

Just curious if the title is a reference to "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra".. or if I've been watching too much Star Trek..

This means we won't get the playtest on this site until after the con...but it also means that the playtest is very close to being ready.

So maybe we'll see it next week?

Impossible. No such thing.

And if I can corner Jason, he's supposed to arm-wrestle me!

And remember to turn your hat backwards, cuz that is like a switch to prepare you for the match.

Rumble > Laserbeak > Ravage

I SO hope so, I haven't looked forward to something so much since the pathfinder beta,...

I'm glad to see how much discussion Ravage vs Laserbeak got in here. :D
But Laserbeak every time! He may be a total coward, but he can fly and I owned his toy when I was little which makes him clearly awesome. Although now I have an itty bitty version of Ravage (you need tweezers to transform him) who fits into a tiny Soundwave, which is very cool too.

I'd better stop now before I get too geeky about Transformers...

Oh I will, Erik. And I'll let Jason know you're cheering for me. ;D

I got to have Sean teach me how to assemble miniatures today, and talked to Jason again. Both very cool guys. I also met a guy named Scott, not sure who he is.

The only seminar I attended was the mini assembling and then the painting given by Sean. I heard nothing about play test schedules in my talks with either of them. What else I heard was with the understanding of keeping my mouth shut. So I didn't hear anything.

It looks like everyone else is keeping their mouths shut because I've combed the Internet looking for "words of power" and found nothing. If it wasn't posted above, I'd think I imagined the play test.

..... now back to biting nails and waiting...
